I really wanted to like Ono Grindz, especially with a concept rooted in Hawaiian culture, but unfortunately the experience didn't reflect that at all. From the moment we walked in, the two employees working didn't greet us or acknowledge us, and their demeanor made it feel like we were inconveniencing them just by being there. There's a big difference between basic customer service and true hospitality and this place missed both. There were also some frustrations with how orders are handled. The business charges an extra $2.50 for maybe a tablespoon of gluten-free granola, but doesn't adjust pricing if ingredients are removed or unavailable. I understand most businesses don't do this but it sometimes evens out when items are removed and unavailable. For example, I was told after ordering that they were out of coconut, which was supposed to come on my item. I was asked if that was okay, but realistically, what's the alternative in that moment? It just felt like another instance of paying for something I didn't receive. At one point, the employee preparing our order walked past us multiple times without acknowledgment to speak with her coworker, which added to the overall feeling of being ignored. A place inspired by Hawaiian culture should carry some sense of "aloha", warmth, welcome, and care. Unfortunately, that was completely missing here. We won't be returning, and that's disappointing because the concept has so much potential. read more

We spent the day walking around Waxahachie and I met the owner at a local shop. We walked over here and the vibe is cool and cozy in a converted house. The menu is great, with vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options. They even gave my DIL a free smoothie (for her birthday). Great healthy place to eat...everything was very fresh and made to order. My friends ordered the wraps which were HUGE and very healthy looking. I got a bowl because I've never tried one and it was very good and healthy. You definitely won't leave hungry and the service was efficient and very nice. I'm definitely coming back. read more

Fresh food in Waxahachie is (sadly) hard to come by. Not here! Sandwiches, service, always tops. Their OG location was great but their new location is quintessential Waxahachie. An old home on Water St off the drag of downtown. Feels like a nice spot in the shade that you can relax in on a hot day. This place just opened about a month ago but man are they making some deliciousness here. They brand themselves as a healthy alternative using the best products only, well worth the cost. It is a family owned business and i spoke with Frank for a little and enjoyed our conversation. He also gives a great breakdown of the different menu items as well as future items coming. They also have multiple discount days like teacher tuesdays, wrap wednesdays etc. If you can't tell I'll definitely be back here not only to keep the gainz going post workout, but also just to enjoy something healthy but amazingly delicious. read more

I am super happy an açaí bowl place opened in town BUT it takes forever. Only way to eat here is to order online and pick up 30 minutes later. I would give this place 10 stars if I could. Today was my 3rd time picking up lunch and each time just seems to get better. Today I had Luau Ginger wrap w/spinach tortilla and a Calypso smoothie. Light, refreshing and full of flavor. I introduced this little gem to a couple co-workers and we were all in agreement that is our new favorite spot to pick up lunch.
