Pulled up to Ale's Kitchen on a Sunday morning, line out the door, so we took that as a good sign. Only waited ~20 mins, which wasn't bad at all. Super casual vibe, tables kinda close, and a random full bar for a place that closes at 3pm. But hey, it's 5 o'clock somewhere ‍ I had the Ranchero skillet: spicy, kinda chilaquiles vibes, with a tasty homemade salsa. 4/5, would get again. Hubs went with the chicken fried chicken breakfast: 5/5, he was impressed. Biscuits seemed homemade and were solid too. Grits were just...grits. 3/5. Walked in on a Sunday morning for a late breakfast to be immediately greeted and the door held open for us to walk in. Seating was immediate too! The server was so sweet and wiped up a tiny spill on the floor before I even saw it, to prevent me from stepping in it. Restaurant is clean and offers a bar as well. Moderately noisy so you can have the kids and be able to chat as much as you want in a casual setting. Ordered an Ale's chicken and the chicken fried chicken breakfast for our party of two. Coffee is delicious and smooth! Food wise, pretty good overall. The gravy wasn't as flavorful as I like but the eggs were cooked perfectly. The chicken was delicious. Getting boxes and a check took a bit longer than it should've. I had my card in my hand to pay and asked for boxes and check. My thing is, I don't like to be held up when I need to leave. I watched the server bring food and drinks to other tables over several minutes when she could've just dropped off the check easily at the same time and saved some steps. This place has solid comfort food. Spicy chicken salad sandwich was fantastic but the surprise find was the potato cake (which is deep fried), so yummy! Cheesecake for dessert was a very large portion with a very thick graham cracker crust. Staff was very welcoming and attentive. Will be returning soon! read more

My wife and I ate here on Thursday morning about 10:00am. Parking is a major problem at this strip center where Ale's kitchen is located, every business in the strip center have signs in front of their businesses that say "absolutely no restaurant parking" leaving about 3 spots in front of the restaurant available for parking, there are about 10 spots close to the street which were all full except for 2 spots at 10:00am in the morning. I can't imagine how bad it would be earlier in the morning. The food is good, we ordered the senior meals which had 2 eggs, sausage or bacon, hash browns or potato's with onions and peppers and a biscuit or toast. The eggs were good, the sausage patty was ordinary but not bad, the potato's were good and the biscuit was average and they charged me $2.00 for a small bowl of gravy for it. My wife ordered pancakes instead of the biscuits and they were very good. Pricing for what we got was fair and in line with other breakfast restaurants in town and surrounding area. Service was fair with us waiting a long time for anyone to come to our table. Overall the food was average, service was below average and pricing was average. Nothing outstanding to make us choose this restaurant over others in the area. read more

My wife and I ate here on Thursday morning around 10:00am. First thing we notice is that there are very few parking spots available for this restaurant in the strip center where it is located. All of the other businesses in this complex had signs in front of their parking spots that said "absolutely no restaurant parking". That left about 3 spots in front of the restaurant which were all taken, there were about 10 spots next to the street across from the restaurant and we were fortunate that there was one spot available there, don't know how much worse the parking would be earlier in the morning but the host inside the door told us that if no spots are available out front that there was space available behind the building but it was not a parking lot, just a gravel area. We both ordered the senior breakfast which included 2 eggs, sausage patty or bacon, hash browns or potato's with bell peppers and onions and biscuit, toast or medium sized pancakes. I got the sausage patty which was average, potato's with the onions which were good and I ordered the biscuit which was just OK and they charged me an additional 2.00 for a small bowl of gravy, my wife ordered the pancakes which were good. The eggs were fine (pretty hard to screw up over hard eggs) Overall the food was average at best but nothing outstanding about any part of it. We waited an extraordinary amount of time before anyone came to take our order so long in that we discussed leaving to go somewhere else. The waitstaff were pleasant but very slow. Midlothian is SO lucky to have this establishment. I remember the restaurant that was here before, and Ale's is such a huge upgrade for this community. I definitely want to thank the owners that have kept the food quality and service and pricing consistent for the several years that they have been open now. They recently added a back patio to their spot, because they fill up! I particularly like breakfast on the weekends, but their chicken fried steak is excellent. Nothing tastes like it came out of a can or the freezer. This is a restaurant we can take visitors and everyone goes home happy. Oh yummy, we were meetings friends at Ale's for breakfast on a recent Saturday morning. The place was hopping. Fortunately, our friends arrived first and secured a table. We had to park WAY back behind the restaurant. There's isn't much available parking. We were greeted warmly as we came through the door. Ale's has an extensive menu, everything looked SO good. Our friend's ordered a breakfast burrito and Ale's Pancake Breakfast. my wife ordered a bacon and cheese omelet and I opted for the Florentino Benedict. Of course, we had coffee for all of us. Watching the trays of delectable breakfasts coming out of the kitchen we knew we were in for a treat. Even though the restaurant was almost full to capacity, service wasn't rushed. We had plenty of time to chat and get caught up on what's been going on. Our food was so delicious. That's one huge pancake on the Ale's Pancake Breakfast platter. My Florentino Benedict was very good. It could have used a bit more sauce but overall, it was a good breakfast entree. We've been numerous times since we moved here. We no longer come for breakfast as there's another option close by that is slightly better and serves fresh real squeezed orange juice. For lunch, it's okay but have taken off our list for a while. Food fairly good but service seems inconsistent. Servers seemed to not listen to customers about the order. Would we go back? Stopped by here on a Saturday afternoon for brunch. The place was pretty busy but we were seated promptly upon arrival. Our server was pleasant and our food came out quickly. For drinks, I ordered a mimosa and the hubby had a margarita. No complaints there. Hubby had never had fried pork chops so he ordered the breakfast option which came with 2 nice size chops plus eggs, home potatoes, and toast. He enjoyed his food and was knocked out when he got home from the heaviness of his meal. Lol. I wasn't as pleased with my French toast with berries, turkey bacon, home potatoes, and eggs. The French toast was burnt so I could taste the char in every bit. Also I should have opted out of the berries because they were drenched in a sauce that made the entire dish overly sweet. Syrup wasn't needed at all. Overall the place seems to be a local hangout spot. They have a bar plus tvs playing. There were a lot of flies in the place likely from the door opening and closing. We had intended to visit a different place but the line was out the door there (at 11:25 on a Sunday morning), so my daughter suggested Ale's as an alternative. When we arrived we saw a really large group waiting outside and thought we'd be in for a long wait, but they were a single group just waiting for tables to be combined, and the six of us (three adults and three kids) were seated within about five minutes. Our server was incredibly attentive and I am so sorry that I don't remember her name in order to single her out for praise. Between us all, we got migas with scrambled eggs; Eggs Benedict; pancakes/hash browns/bacon; and chicken strips with fries. My grandson's pancakes were huge and he couldn't quite finish the two of them. My migas were delicious and my only complaint was the heat of the jalapenos! Hubby's Eggs Benedict were great, and it was only after we were back home again that he realized that the hollandaise sauce had been omitted - and that's the only reason I didn't give this review five stars. But to be fair to the kitchen staff, they were truly slammed with that huge party seated just before us. The big screens around the interior were showing cute videos of animal encounters, and that entertained our grandkids - and us! - while we waited for our meals. Ale's is 45 minutes from where we live so we aren't likely to be regulars, but they made us very happy on the morning that we visited. read more

This was my first time here and they did not disappoint. I got the French toast bites. They were definitely not bites but super good and you get more for your buck! I also had their spicy chorizo omelett, and they stuffed that omelett. I'm use to to restaurants being a little stingy when it comes to adding extra meat. My boyfriend had the Three Piggy skillet. lets just say the plate was cleaned in a matter of minute. Also, they do have a full bar as well for all my drinkers. Definitely will bring girls back to partake in the mimosas. The only complaint I have is the water. if you drink water get the bottle of water the water did not taste that great. Service second to none. My only criticism: inside decor and dining area seems a bit outdated and beneath the level of the food and service. Maybe time for an update? Ale's our home away from home. It is such a great neighborhood bar/brunch/dinner spot. We've been coming to Ale's since the first week they opened, and come about twice a week. Everything is good on their menu!!!! And we've had plenty of time to try a lot, but of course we love getting our favorites most times. Their migas, Mexican Benedict, and appetizers are really good. They will do yummy dinner specials as well. This restaurant is great for large parties, and they've recently opened an outback patio. All the staff are super nice and attentive at Ale's. Alexis is the best!!! She really knows her customers and is a great bartender!! We do wish they would get a larger selection of beer on draft. AND.... Maybe just one Tex-mex dinner plate, like enchiladas? But nonetheless, we will see you next week Ale's! read more

A few weeks ago my hubby and stopped in for dinner here. We had looked on Yelp to find a place where our dog would be welcome as we had our Basset Hound with us. Ale's had a variety of menu items to choose from and we both had their chicken fried steak that came with two sides. It was quite good and made a second meal the next day having been a large portion. The gravy was delicious and not overly salty too. The service was friendly, the patio in the back of the restaurant had several patio umbrellas for shade and was quite comfortable and quiet. You ever wake up on a Sunday and just want some delicious food and bottomless mimosas... we'll i have and that's how i stumbled upon ales kitchen. Man was i not dissapounted. Showed up and asked for bottomless, while they don't do that they do offer a flight of champagne with upwards of 8 juice choices and your own bottle of champagne to keep that glass full. We sat at the bar and had great service from start to finish along with great recommendations for food. I had the fried chicken Benedict and highly recommend it. The chicken was cooked to perfection and so was the biscuit and Benedict was nice and poached. I plan on going back here very soon and getting another bottle of champagne.
