Saw our couple of lavender lemon drop martinis and a bramble punch on our table. The truffle fries are a must try/devour as are the sprouts. I had a caesar salad for my main. The menu isn't terribly gluten friendly but sprouts, caesar, and a cocktail are a pretty elite combo. The inside is nice with lots of wood, glass, and textures. Our server was friendly and attentive.

Since I had no basket to enjoy, I decided to take myself out for Brunch. I remembered the last time I went to brunch at, Brick + Bramble, it was pretty good. So I made myself presentable and headed to Edwardsville. I'll tell you up front, this Brunch far exceeded the last one and I thought it was outstanding. I seated myself at the bar, my favorite place to eat when dining alone. Was glad to see one of my favorite things and that is Hooks and Outlets Under the Bar. It's such a nice touch, to provide those for the customers. Let me start out giving a shout out to the young lady who was bartending. She did an outstanding job making my cocktails and taking my order. I ordered a Morning Martini and she asked if I wanted that or did I really want just an Espresso Martini. She quickly explained the differences and I went with the Espresso. I've had the Morning, but this espresso one, made my morning. While I was reading the Brunch menu, another server came up to retrieve drinks for her table. As she waited, I asked her what would she recommend for me to order. Without blinking she said, Fried Chicken Benedict. I giggled and told that was what I was leaning towards and her recommendation made my mind up. When my Benedict arrived, my eyes bugged out of my head. It was huge, I mean seriously huge. I could not eat all of it, I had to take half home. Later that night, a little warm-up and I had dinner. The Benedict was grilled biscuits topped with hand-bread fried chicken breast topped with over-easy eggs and house made sausage gravy. The breading on the breast was crunchy and crisp. Eggs were done perfectly and the sausage gravy was equal to a farmers wife. I may have been getting full, but I couldn't just have one cocktail. After all it's Brunch and Easter morn. After seeing the flier for the spring cocktail specials, I ordered a Pistachio Martini. It's vanilla vodka, Amaretto, Bailey'sBlue Curacao with a Crushed Pistachio Rim, made up for not having an Easter Basket filled with chocolate. The rich creamy texture was like drinking a dessert. Before spring is over, I'll be back for another. Again, shout out to the great bartender who took care of me.

I had a few errands so I was satisfied to grab a few things to start my day! I usually get the hot mocha, it was out very fast! Service is always amazing, they bring your drink right out to you & never get your order mixed up. Less than 5 minutes I got my drink, super delicious if you ever get the chance to try I also got a new food items, the pecan sticky bun & raspberry muffin looked too good to resist! I'm also a big fan of the 'day old pastries box' because I do try to cut costs when I can it's only $7 & I love the idea of getting a surprise! They're always delicious and taste like they were made that morning. I can tell they use real, quality ingredients for their food. I have issues sometimes with gluten and certain processed breads, but I really enjoy being able to have something sweet without all the extra junk! I got out with spending about $25, pretty good deal and better quality than most places! I like to support small/individual businesses when I can, I really believe you do get a better experience and product. My favorite place to go to for coffee in Edwardsville, so if you're looking for great coffee with great service, take a look at this place, you won't regret it! support small business

Within the last month, Sacred Grounds has had a change in ownership. For some that is sad news, but…read morethe good news is that the new owners so far have been keeping the same high quality service and products. My recent visit was to take part of Javapalooza being sponsored by Rivers and Routes Tourism Bureau. When it's warm outside, I enjoy my coffee iced. My go to is, Vanilla Honey Latte with whole milk. If you're having a latte, why not go whole hog and enjoy that whole milk. The rich fullness of whole milk, adds to the flavor. Looking at their pastry case, it was hard for me to choose. However, once my eyes saw the Pizza Scone, I wanted a savory treat over a sweet. The scone was full of flavor, but a little on the dry side. After a couple bites, the dryness did not bother me, because the flavor was so good. Scared Grounds is located on the Main drag in downtown Edwardsville, so next time you're in town, be sure to stop by.

Every tea I've ever had here has been off the charts. They have caffeine free options, too! The teapot for two is excellent. I am a sucker for a pick two because I like a lil diversity. The ceasar salad is great. Big fan of the teaspoon pesto sandwich. My partner raves about the chicken croissant and always gets a side salad with olive oil. The workers are nice. Its seat yourself with a number and they clear the table when you're finished. Easy place to bring kids. Plenty of options for seating! Personally love the booth option.

What a disappointment this experience was. Teaspoons Cafe should be called "The Burnt Cafe"…read more We all ordered the Breakfast Platter and were upset with what we received. When ordering the ham they fail to mention it's 2 1/2 slices of deli ham. The only thing that tasted fresh were the eggs and the pancake. The bacon and sau was severely burnt and dry. However, the potatoes were the worst. They were dry, burnt, over seasoned and did not taste fresh at all. The meat and potatoes were cooked hours ago reheated when ordered. For being $12 it is not worth it and that money would be better spent at McDonalds. To make matters worse I heard a staff employee coughing in the kitchen. She should be home not making the food.

Bad me, guess I'll have to come back and enjoy another one and write about it. Anyway, back to this mornings brunch. I started out with an Espresso Martini. Why drink coffee on a hot day, when you can enjoy a chilled and refreshing martini. I took my time reading the menu and changing my mind multiple times as I sipped the masterfully made martini. After finishing my martini, I was ready to order my entree. I went with the, Crab Cake Benedict. It's kinda a traditional Benedict, but with a couple of twist. It has the English Muffin foundation, but is topped with two crab cakes and the soft poached eggs on top of the crab cakes. Then they top it all with a "spicy hollandaise sauce" and top the sauce is topped with sprigs of Arugula. I love spice, so the spicy hollandaise made my day. The eggs were poached perfectly and you can never go wrong with crab cakes. I'm not a fan of Arugula, so I just politely pushed it aside. My second adult beverage while I enjoyed my entree was a, Mimosa made with pineapple juice. It was National Pineapple Juice Day (I follow food holidays) and who wants to drink plain ole juice. Like my espresso, I just created a cocktail. The service was top notch. I enjoyed my server, she recommended the crab cakes and I can see why they're her favorite. The bartender was cool and made two great cocktails. My food was brought out of the kitchen by one of the cooks and that impressed me. He was very personable. I'll be back to have dinner, so I fresh story to tell. In the meantime, look at my dinner pictures.
