Love love love this place! Great food, yummy coffee, and superb service. The ambiance is that of a homey local diner but the quality if food is that of an upscale boutique cafe, if that makes sense. Highly recommend!!
Great brunch spot to catch up with friends or do homework. They've got free WiFi! I got the oatmeal- you get to choose between three toppings. I choose brown sugar, cinnamon, and banana. It was really nice that all of the toppings came separately on the side so I could choose how much I wanted of each and it was fun mixing it all in! Great service too!
Nice little spot off 157. Near SIUE campus. I've had their breakfast burrito few months back and it was very good. This time I came back for hot coffee and a bagel. Bagel was really good. Their in house coffee is Kaldi's. I had their blueberry one and a colleague of mine had their everything bagel. We enjoyed their services. Kind and warm welcoming staff. It makes perfect for small meeting. It's a cute spot for a date or if you're wanting to have coffee with friends.
Came here for a quick bite to eat about an hour before closing. I was the only customer at the time I stopped in. The ladies at the counter helped me pick an iced tea to try and even let me smell the tea leaves. I saw on their board they had a vegetable soup for the day so I decided to try it. I got my food and drink quickly. I enjoyed the soup and although I wish it had more potatoes, it was filling. I would come back again.
Checked all the boxes. They had decaf and flavored it up the way I prefer. The service was quick and friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable.
There's a lot around the strip, it can get crowded. Walk up to the counter, order, and they deliver the food to your table. I got the basic eggs/sausage/toast breakfast meal. It was good. The star was the potatoes. Cooked well, slightly crispy, good flavor. The rest of the meal was solid and I would return.

Pictured is the chocolate chip pancake kids meal & full breakfast kids meal - I couldn't decide what I wanted, and both were so good! We also got coffees which were pretty good. My only complaint is that there is no waitress/waiter. In order to get water I had to wait in the ordering line to ask for a glass of water which they filled from the sink.
My gooey pecan roll and chai latte were really good. You can order online or in the store. They had a pretty large menu but breakfast food is only served until 11am. There is quite a bit of seating inside. It would be a good place to study, work, or catch up with a friend. I wish it was open later than 3pm.

I wasn't a huge fan of their chicken salad sandwich, it did t have a whole lot of flavor, but other sandwiches I've had from here were alright. Their vegetable soup is delicious and so are some of their teas! The service is usually pretty quick too.
Really wanted to like this place. Shows it because it was one of the only places that had the fresh cut home fries versus the shredded hash browns. Cute decor we placed our order and got the worst looking clearly old shriveled up potatoes. Looked nothing like the previous pictures of other diners. We told the young lady to give the opportunity to fix it and told her that we picked this place because of the Yelp reviews and the pictures and fresh potatoes and these seemed old. Her only response is that's odd we use fresh potatoes everyday. Never offered to switch it out fix it anything so left with no other option but to leave this review. It's too bad that they don't understand freshness and if a customer has a problem remake it. These potatoes are dried up and hard which which is what happens when they are sitting around and reheated. Came in at 10:00 a.m. on a Monday.
I found it pricey for the area, but they have good food and coffee/tea drinks. The room is large with lots of tables, but it gets quite packed. Not a place to sit and work. They serve both breakfast and lunch type foods.

What a disappointment this experience was. Teaspoons Cafe should be called "The Burnt Cafe". We all ordered the Breakfast Platter and were upset with what we received. When ordering the ham they fail to mention it's 2 1/2 slices of deli ham. The only thing that tasted fresh were the eggs and the pancake. The bacon and sau was severely burnt and dry. However, the potatoes were the worst. They were dry, burnt, over seasoned and did not taste fresh at all. The meat and potatoes were cooked hours ago reheated when ordered. For being $12 it is not worth it and that money would be better spent at McDonalds. To make matters worse I heard a staff employee coughing in the kitchen. She should be home not making the food. read more

Tried to give it another shot. Got a bacon egg and cheese sandwich. They didn't even put bacon on it. How do you forget one of only three ingredients. This place is a sorry excuse for a restaurant now. Can't wait for the new breakfast place across the street to open. read more

Located northeast of St. Louis, in Edwardsville, Illinois, you'll find this adorable coffee shop and breakfast/lunch cafe. Service was quick! You place your order at the counter, take a number, and wait staff deliver your meal to your table. Staff are very friendly! This was my second experience here. Food was great, except for the breakfast potatoes being a little hard. Likely, since we came towards the end of breakfast service that ends at 11:00am. Overall, very good experience! read more
I've been going to Teaspoons Cafe for many years now, and I was shocked to realize I had not posted a review of it yet. This is going to be a lengthy review, so the short of it is: If you've never been before, go for lunch, try the half soup & half sandwich (see below for recommendations) with an iced tea. You will have a delicious lunch with friendly service, and my bet is that you will also have a new place to frequent. But if you want more detail, read on. I don't believe you can go wrong here. I have enjoyed everything I've tried, so I will focus on some of my favorites. First off, the soups. Each day is a different soup, which you can find on their website. Their vegetable soup and their chicken noodle soup taste so flavorful and fresh; I'm not quite sure how to describe it, but they have a clean, almost refreshing, taste that you don't get at chain cafes. My favorite soup, however, is the creamy potato. Bright, delicious, and not too heavy. Let's backtrack to breakfast. In all honesty, I have not tried a ton of the breakfast options, because I cannot stop ordering the Breakfast Burrito. I am not typically a disciple of breakfast burritos, but the green chili stuff that comes on the side makes this burrito one of my favorite breakfasts. As far as their pastries and baked goods go, the cinnamon roll (you can have them heat it up or take it unheated for later) and the white chocolate cranberry scone are delectable. For lunch, my top picks are the Chicken BLT, which I argue needs no T, and the Chicken Salad sandwich (this is a little creamy and messy, but ultimately delicious). If you're feeling a salad, it's got to be the Seasonal with the house poppy seed dressing (my mother is hooked on this dressing). The other salads are good, but that dressing is hard to pass up. Finally we get to tea. I am a tea lover. When I'm eating a meal I prefer my tea iced, so that's how I typically go here. They have a good selection of teas, along with some rotating seasonal teas. I enjoy trying new teas; if you're uncertain tell them what you typically like and ask for a recommendation. I have mostly done to-go orders over the past two years, so I'm not super familiar with the current staff. In pre-pandemic times, however, I was always so impressed with their employees (some are still there). They're friendly, efficient, conversational, and it was always a delight to chat with them when they weren't busy. My experience with the current staff, while minimal, has always been pleasant. The only downside to this place, and it feels like such a small thing compared to how great the food and service are, is that the aesthetic isn't particularly inviting. The inside is fairly bland, the chairs and tables are pretty basic; I wouldn't say it's uncomfortable, but I also wouldn't say it's comfortable. Although once you taste your food you probably won't really be thinking about your surroundings. Logistics: There's a parking lot in front; it can get crowded, but I've never had to wait more than a minute or so for a spot. When you get there, head up to the counter to order. If you're ordering for dine-in, they'll give you a number to put on your table. You can order to-go ahead of time by either calling or using their online ordering; I've done both with no issue. read more

I have heard that their poppy seed dressing is made in-house and is delicious, but I came for breakfast so I got a breakfast sandwich with bacon. The sandwich was very solid. [As of June 26, 2021] Teacups Cafe: another great eatery to visit right here in Edwardsville. Easy to get to. A lot of parking is available but a spot may be hard to come by during busy hours. RESTAURANT: This cafe is quite spacious with a good amount of seating. Be cautious during busy times because seating can get scarce real quick. I feel as though a few more tables could be added. Decor is minimal but in good taste and not distracting. STAFF: From the two baristas to the one bus boy, the workers were very pleasant and hardworking. Despite the constant flow of customers, they were managing the orders and food serving well. I believe a fourth person on the floor could speed up the service. FOOD: If you are in the mood for more than just some orange juice with your breakfast, order yourself a tea, latte, or smoothie. Teaspoons Cafe has their own coffee bar. If you fancy something sweet, they even make fresh, baked goods everyday! The wife decided to sip on a chai latte while I guzzled down some simple orange juice. He munched on a Gooey Pecan Bun while we waited for our breakfast. Very well made. The right amount of sweet with the right amount of caramelized pecans. For breakfast, we ordered the french toast and pancakes with a couple scrambled eggs and sausage. Yes, a simple cuisine, but both very delicious. They do it perfectly! fin. read more

Just wanted to leave a simple review. Teaspoons has been a favorite of ours for a while. The environment is simple and clean. Menu is loaded with sandwiches and salads. My wife and I shared a club sandwich and chef salad. Everything was super fresh and delicious! 10/10 would recommend read more

I've enjoyed breakfast and lunch at Teaspoons, and think most coffee drinkers can't do much better than their Kaldi's brews. However, on a curbside pickup, which is a current focus of my reviews, I was not favorably impressed. I ordered curbside pickup on the "Toast" app, and as instructed by the app, phoned the number when I arrived. Two calls separated by five minutes went unanswered. Patience is not one of my strengths at lunchtime, so I decided to go inside. Unfortunately, I was directly behind four other customers in a what appeared to be a single party, no masks, who conversed with one another while figuring out their order. I understand you can't wear a mask while eating, but most places I visit these days expect me to wear a mask while standing in line to order. To their credit, the staff was masked. When I finally had my turn at the counter, I explained my situation, and was told to pick up my order over on the carryout counter. As I exited, I looked around - no sign or posting about safety procedures. While my meal was fine, I drove away rather frustrated by my unsuccessful attempt to use curbside pickup. Perhaps "Toast" does not allow business users to distinguish between "curbside pickup" and "carryout." Perhaps there's been too much pushback by customers about safety procedures, and the staff is tired of trying. Perhaps this is a situation in which I should follow the sympathetic template, "... but I understand this is a new operation for them." I'll probably go back someday for breakfast or lunch. But, based on my recent experience, I doubt I'll make a second attempt at Covid-19-safe curbside pickup. read more

Well, I'm sure there's a loyal following... I'm hard pressed to say I'll be back... I was the only one in line and there was little activity in the kitchen. So I didn't expect my order to take too long. It didn't take that long... omelet, potatoes, bacon and a hot tea. Well... the tea was hot... my order didn't take long to come out, but wow was I surprised how cold the food was. I grabbed a cinnamon roll and apple thingy... honestly... didn't taste fresh... We were looking for a non-chain place in the area for lunch before our long day ahead. This place got good reviews so we figured why not? We were not disappointed. They do need to change thier logo for those us us older folks who have a hard time reading store front names while driving. We ordered and sat. It was a cold, blustery day and unfortunately the only table left was near the door. THAT is why I can't give it 5 stars. The inclement weather influenced how fast we ate and how comfortable were were while there. Maybe look into putting in a doorway or something? I ordered a Teaspoon Sandwich, my daugter and her friends ordered The Club and a kids Grilled Cheese. We all really enjoyed the food. I though the taste combinations on my Teaspoon were wonderful. The kid who ordered the Grilled Cheese thought it was "really, really good and could eat another." The club was also a hit. I hope they are around for a long time for we will hit them again when we are in Edwardsville! read more
