    Seasonal banana caramel brulle drink
    Kimberly W.

This place has come up on my Instagram feed almost constantly the last few months, but it took me awhile to stop by because it's a bit of a drive for me. Worth the wait! I stopped by on a Saturday morning, and there were already a number of people seated around the place, some waiting for their order, others just hanging out. Despite this, I didn't have to wait too long for my drink. The drink I chose was their seasonal drink of banana caramel brûlée, which was delicious. I could have drunk a pitcher of that stuff. Banana coffee drinks are usually very hit or miss, but this definitely hit.

Fun new coffee shop in Troy! I love the unique drinks and how they switch up the specials every month. I've tried a few specials and they are always amazing. They have a drive thru which is great for convience and on the go. I've sat inside a few times and it's hard to have conversation inside. It's super echoey and made my ears hurt ( random I know) . The bites to eat are fun. I tried the bagel bites and they are good! They have 2-3 spots I believe behind the shop and then street parking which isn't bad.

Mokka Bon from S. Main St. -- look for yhis building, because there is no signage on one of the two street-facing sides.

This ismy second visit, and I really like this little coffee shop. Getting there: Mokka Bon is located at the corner of Market & Main. There's signage from Market Street but not on Main St, so look for the building in the photos. There is minimal on-site parking (3 spots, and 1 is handicap parking), but plenty of free street parking. Environment: it's an airy, bright place with lots of light. A wide room has dark walls and easily accessible outlets, making it a bit quieter and more private than the echoey main room and great place to do a little work. Food & drinks: I was excited to see multiple types of iced tea on the menu, and my Earl Grey iced tea (pictured), ordered slightly sweet with the help of the staff, was flavorful and refreshing. I also ordered some everything bagel bites, bagel balls stuffed with chive cream cheese and heated in the oven. They tasted exactly as I imagined and would definitely get them again! All-in-all, five stars! Worth a trip from neighboring towns or those traveling and looking for a local place not too far from the highway.

Such a fun and delicious spot! I love all of the seasonal lattes! They are always so pretty and taste so good. Some faves have been the cookies and cream and the cannoli. Also love the spicy pretzel breakfast sandwich! All of the workers are soo friendly. So cute inside with plenty of seating and we love a drive thru! Parking is also pretty easy in the area.

I walked into Mokka Bon with high expectations. I had read an article in the Edwardsville Intelligencer about the owners, their experience of Brussels, the atmosphere and waffles, and their dream to create something different that would make them more than a regular coffee shop. I was imagining Sacred Grounds in Edwardsville or the Mud House in St. Louis, only based in Troy, and more ... Belgian. What I experienced was ... different. Latte served in a paper cup? Spinach-and-feta puff pastry served in a paper sleeve? My order in paper, and one I saw at another table in plastic, looked quite different than the plated pastries I'd seen in social media photos. It just wasn't the quaint small-town coffee shop experience I'd been led to believe I'd find. Emphasizing the POSITIVE: 1.) The space was neat and clean, easily accessible, two unisex restrooms I think, and 2.) parking no more limited than a street corner in most small towns. 3.) Service was snappy, not much of a wait. 4.) The coffee was good, and the puff pastry very good. 5.) The environment was pleasant enough that I can easily imagine spending time here with a friend or working remotely. Putting aside my expectations, and thinking instead "local alternative to Starbucks," Mokka Bon is all right.

Very cute and quite little coffee shop. Coffee was good. I got the jalapeño cheddar balls. They were a little disappointing for the price. But still very good. I wish they had more inside of them.

    Lovely space!

Super excited to have them here in town...fast service...we had both iced and hot drinks that were great! Treats were tasty but served in 'to go' containers. Super clean and friendly and we will be back! Only comment is when we stay to enjoy a space...we prefer to get drinks served in mugs and treats served on plates.

Coffee was okay but seemed a little weak. Did not have stevia sweetener. Will try again another day.

If you are already a poke fan, DEFINITELY check them out. If you are a newbie or poke-curious, Poke Munch makes it VERY easy on beginners - and the staff is the "sauce on the bowl" if you will. It has been the same, clearly-invested, friendly and engaging staff on each visit (Ie....no rotating high schoolers checking IG on their phone while you figure ish out). Poke Munch is a Hawaiian take on the poke bowl. It is in a small shopping area with plenty of parking. You enter the shared dining area mentioned above and head right to order at the counter before moving on to your seat. The dining area and restrooms were very clean each time I visited. There is a ginormous, easy to read (and understand) list of recommended bowls. Keep in mind you can customize whatever you like! Or ask the staff to make you their favorite bowl.....put their favorite combo of sauces on your custom bowl....etc. etc. I DESPISE ginger, and as I get older, the number of carbohydrates consumed and the size of my pants seem to correlate, so I always hold the ginger & grains and get all mixed greens as the base of my bowl. Their raw, cubed fish has always been exceptionally fresh. There are a ton of vegan options and if you don't care for raw or surf, there is an excellent Crispy Hei Hei bowl with sesame chicken tempura, white cabbage, cucumber, sweet onion, carrot, shiitake mushroom, crispy garlic, unagi sauce, and PM sauce - but again, construct and customize any way you want. Do not sleep on the *Shiitake Mushroom Pot Stickers*. LOVE! Chopsticks, cutlery, and soy sauce are available. Grab a lid for your bowl if you don't finish. The food is so fresh that it has been just as good during round 2.

She was very helpful and knowledgeable. We ordered a Horseshoe with sausage and the Corned Beef and Cabbage special. The Shoe was large with perfectly cooked over easy eggs. Generous slices of very tender lean corned beef with course cut potatoes and carrots. Both tasted as good as they looked. Definitely worth a return visit.

Keep your eye out for Imo's pizzeria because it's connected to it. The shop is spacious enough for a good size crowd. There is also a very large patio for outdoor seating and mingling. I would have figured there would be speakers posted for some light music. Patrons can enjoy the music of nature. STAFF: As soon as we entered, we were casually greeted by two ice cream shop workers. The cashier was able to easily answer my questions about the uniquely named flavors i.e. Bride of Frankenstein and Superman. It took only a few minutes for our ice cream to be served. FOOD: The wife and I ordered two small cups. She did the lemon bite with waffle pieces and strawberries. A perfect combination. The strawberries aren't loose and chopped, but a jelly. That's a nice change of pace! I got the trusted strawberry with M&Ms. Next time I'll go without those and do more strawberries! Nonetheless, it still was good eating. Take a drive out to Edwardsville and sit under the sun with a cool delight. fin.
