I very much appreciated this Cracker Barrel accommodating a catering order for 220. (It was a marching band competition weekend in nearby St. Louis.) Our order was so big, they had to send me up the food chain to make sure they could prepare it. Unfortunately, they did not have a catering van to bring it to the band, but I was happy to pick it up just to get their food. We did the Momma's pancake breakfast for a 8:50a meal. The pancakes were delicious, the eggs cooked well (no stabilizers that added gluten!), and the bacon was delicious. The butter was still frozen, but the tiny glass bottles of syrup delighted everyone in the room. Kids and adults ate up almost everything. 10/10 would order from them again! read more

Had a great dinner date with the hubby at Cracker Barrel in Troy. The service was wonderful - we got seated right away and our server was very attentive. We enjoy going to Cracker Barrel during this time of year because they offer the country fried turkey which is AMAZING! It comes with 2 sides of your choice, biscuits and cranberry relish (which they forgot - ). Come hungry because it's a large portion or take home leftovers for another meal later. They have other great food options as well and the prices are reasonable. They also have prepackaged $6 Take Home Meals available. We got 2 for dinner the next night - grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and meatloaf with mac & cheese. The manager was friendly, greeted us and inquired of our experiences. I was so full, I didn't mention they forgot the cranberry relish, haha. The highlight of the restaurant is all the merchandise. I love the nostalgic candies and unique gifts. Decided to give cracker barrel one more try after staying away after the whole logo kerfuffle. Fwiw. I was more upset about the upcoming chain-wide interior remodels than I was the logo. But....in the course of that whole debacle, I, like millions of other Cracker Barrel regulars, learned about not only all the woke and lgbtqrstuv stuff, but also about the food. And I mean WHY the food isn't as good anymore....the fact that stuff is no longer made fresh. It's made ahead of time and warmed up. This explains why the last few times I had the meatloaf it was pretty bad (and this is many many mkt ha before the whole logo imbrolio). I remember thinking "well, I must've gotten here before the next mestloaf is done and this must be the last remaining bit of the last loaf. No biggie. I'll eat it and hope it's better next time". Nope. Like two or three in a row it was bad. Hadn't ordered it since. So back to breakfast....got my usual mommas pancake breakfast. For one...I usually order an extra egg in the scrambled eggs....but even then the eggs are so tiny it's a paltry amount of scrambled eggs. So I didn't bother. Asked for the bacon "not crispy". Someone didn't get the memo it didn't care to make the effort to give me special cooked bacon. The pancakes.....I used to think they had the best pancakes ever. Not so anymore. They're always tough....ive always thought maybe because someone has over mixed the batter. Now....i think k they just make them ahead and freeze them too. That's what they taste like. I had lunch at Cracker Barrel in Troy Illinois today. While the turkey meal was delicious, I am extremely disappointed with the Chicken and dumpling soup I ordered to go. It was all broth with maybe 4 tiny dumplings and a little chicken. If you are going to scrap the bottom of the pot, at least let the customer know that you are out of soup. I paid a good price for a bowl of nothing. CB should be embarrassed for sending something out to a customer like that. read more

5 stars for Service. Hayley was very patient and kind, helping me navigate tbe menu items, looking for things that wouldn't cause me food reactions. Its really hard to eat out and traveling is even more difficult. HAYLEY was GREAT! Food was mediocre, steamed broccoli should have been trimed to remove old dark areas before steaming. The onions I asked for to put on my salad were clearly old and had been setting out, they were dry and unappealing. My lettuce & cucumbers looked & tasted good. It only takes a minute or two to make sure "fresh" vegetables are trimmed & cleaned. I would have appreciated that. I am very limited on food choices, so I would probably not return to this location and if my experience is the same @ a different location, I don't believe I will patronize the chain. read more

I've found Cracker Barrel to always be consistently good. I've never been disappointed with their food or their service. This time I ordered their Wild Maine Blueberry Pancakes (what a surprise, ha!) with a side order of their bacon. The pancakes were full of delicious blueberries and even more so when I covered them with their blueberry syrup. It was phenomenal!! The bacon was crunchy and tasty - just the way I like it. Our server was pleasant, helpful, courteous and efficient. She came by several times to check on us and refill our coffee cups. I won't lie, I grew up going to Cracker Barrel throughout my childhood during road trips. It still has a nostalgic feel when we visit Dash it doesn't hurt that it hasn't changed one bit. I wanted to give this particular location a shout out for the great customer service during our recent road trip. From the coloring pages and crayons to the little table game in store, it makes it a really easy spot to stop with kiddos in tow. I also love that they offer a vegetable plate on the kids menu so we were able to have a fairly healthy lunch despite being on the go. read more

I specifically made a yelp account to warn others, the service wasn't terrible but I have had better service from some McDonald's employees. But my main issue was the food. The chicken breast, specifically chicken fried chicken meal, was pink and I only noticed half way through my second one. When I got home I had horrible food poisoning to the point of almost tears. Now I dont think im some macho man but as a 16 year old wrestler who just broke their toe at a tornument just before this visit, I can say that I am pretty good with pain and i never cry from pain. Stopped in for lunch mid week. I had brunch and my wife had lunch. Her's was a Country Fried Steak, mashed potatoes and green beans. The steak was a disaster. Cooked to death in old oil and hard as a rock! The green beans tasted like they had come straight from the can and woefully under seasoned. Mashed potatoes were OK but gravy was tasteless. I ordered my eggs over medium with French toast and hash browns. I received eggs cooked hard, two pancakes and hash browns. Although I received pancakes, they were the best thing on the plate. My sausage patty was so overcooked I could hardly cut it! The hash browns were good. Add two glasses of iced tea at $3.45 each and the grand total was $40.22!! Maybe you should concentrate on your food, not your logo!! It's my fault for not communicating our displeasure with our lunch but we were pressed for time. We came to meet family members for a nice sit down meal. We were a large party so it took a little while to be served. Our server was okay and our food definitely came out in shifts rather than all together. When it came time to pay, we had the server split the checks. They were incorrect and had to be sent back to correct. When we went to pay, several did not ring up correctly. The cashier tried to help but to no avail. After most of our large party had stood at the cash register for over 15 minutes, a manager finally came. She attempted to fix the tickets but ended up ringing them all up again. This manager acted like this was our fault and like we were trying to get out of paying our tickets. We were finally able to pay but the manager was very rude and didn't even apologize for the mixup. I ordered online and my boyfriend went and picked the food up. I specifically wanted biscuits and gravy and has brown casserole so I got the platter which comes with a side, meat, eggs, and biscuits and gravy. When he arrived home there were no biscuits in the bag. Mind you, I'm almost 6 months pregnant so if I want it, I need to get it or I get sick. Honestly have heard the pun lines about Cracker Barrel over the years, but finally got my chance to give it a go. First and foremost, while not the best diner food, the ample amount and price point clears the air. There are only a few on the west coast, but in central US, it's more abundant. I met my family at one outside of St. Louis (Specially Illinois), and it was more than I expected. I pictured more of a Black Bear Diner vibe (Northern CA country diner), but it has its own twist on it. First part of the restaurant is a store dedicated to seasonal goods (At least when I was there). Cool concept for some, but not so much for me. You can knock out some seasonal holiday decoration shopping before indulging in a large family meal. Fast forward to the food portion. Seated after a brief shopping in the store, we were greeted by a standard large American style menu. It boasts your normal eggs and bacon, but also some local favorites depending on your part of the US. We grabbed a smorgasbord of food: Pancakes, eggs, bacon, potatoes, muffins, etc. We did not have to wait long as the food came out piping hot and looking good. Again, get ready to eat like a king as their portions are huge! While not your fancy style breakfast, complete comfort food for me and my family! You leave completely full till dinner and don't break the bank, an easy win win for most. We stopped for Breakfast on 1/2/23 and had a very disappointing experience. My GF ordered the biscuit breakfast and wanted to order a side of chicken sausage. We understood that we had to pay extra. The server hesitated when GF ordered the chicken sausage. I told the server we were willing to pay the extra charge to have the chicken sausage. The server stated, you are going to have to pay." I said that was fine. I submitted my order and GF got up to look in the gift shop area. The server came back and told me she was unable to complete the order for GF. I asked for the manager. I explained that the server refused to accommodate our order. I stated that I believed the server was behaving this way because we were an interracial couple. I didn't see her anywhere. I assumed she was either out back smoking or flirting with someone in the kitchen. The time before, the food was great, the server was attentive and friendly and the place was very clean. Unfortunately it's a sign of our times. Some people care. Others do not. I try to consider the person and not blame the business when things go wrong. I would say it's about 70-30 for the good. Maybe a bit higher.
