Such a great spot, among the hustle and bustle of O'Fallon, IL. With so many places around, I'd highly recommend stopping in and giving Chicken Salad Chick a try! The service is top notch - such friendly, patient customer service. Smiles from walk in to walk out -- loving it! I didn't the combo w/ the lemon basic chicken salad on white bread, with tomato and lettuce. A bowl of loaded baked potato soup and a sprite. It's such a minute detail but the option of adding lemon to my sprite really topped it all off for me. The sandwich was superb! The break fresh and soft & the chicken salad... my gosh, so yummy! The potato soup was good too; very creamy, flavorful and not salty. Plus, a free little cookie with each meal - yes, please! After I was finished eating, a nice young lady came over and offered to take my trash - very appreciated. This is such a clean place, the bathrooms pristine. I loved the signs on the doors! It was good, but not great. The "spiciest" chicken salad they have, Kickin' Kay Lynne", is NOT spicy. When I asked if I'd be able to add jalapeno's to my sandwich, I was told no. That just seems crazy, not to have anything to add to your sandwich. I was told that the chicken salad was made ahead of time, and that's that. It isn't as inexpensive as many fast food restaurants, but not waaay out of line. Ambiance is nicer than most fast food places. read more

But like she wrote, I have my own idea about chicken salad and I prefer it with hardly any mayo (like barely barely enough to bring it together) and tons of stuff. I really enjoy this for a change for lunch. The soups are delicious. I recently tried the broccoli cheese soup and the cheese was stringing from my spoon to my mouth! They have baked potato soup and a chicken poblano. I think it does change with the season. The chicken salad can be ordered as a scoop or a sandwich and there are a ton of different ways you can order it. I've tried several and they are very good. I really enjoy the fancy Nancy which has apples and green grapes. I honestly could come here for just the poppy seed salad dressing! I love, love it! It's like French dressing with poppy seeds. It's so good! I wish they would bottle it and sell it!! The teas are really good. They are brewed, not fountain and they usually have a flavored one. The one today was watermelon. Yum! I even added lemon to my concoction of sweet tea and watermelon tea! It is decorated really cute and the ambiance is better than your average fast food. It's homey feeling. I fully intended to give two or three stars due to missing items from my sandwich, BUT it was all in a container so as to not get the bread soggy. I did ask for an extra pickle and paid $.25 and there was no mustard on the sandwich like it was supposed to have so those are my only complaints lol. There is a cooler when you walk in front by registers. The menu is up to where everyone can read it. It is always clean! The soups are amazing! My favorite is the chicken tortilla. They give you a number after you order, and they bring your food out to you. You can self serve drinks at the fountain machine. They also have sweet and unsweetened tea. Have ordered their platters for events over the years but never the catering sizes of their sides. On their website it states it serves 10-12 people and for 22$ per container I expected it to actually serve that amount. We purchased 2 containers of the broccoli salad and 2 containers of pasta salad adding up to 88$ worth of food of which we were expecting to easily serve 20 people for our event. These sizes barely fed 5 people each comfortably. The food was good but it definitely did not go very far for the price. So if you are doing a catering order I would definitely double what you think you would need. read more

The helpful gal behind the counter helped steer me in the right direction with what I might (or might not) like. First impression, the decor feels very homey when you walk in. It's a comfy feel. You then follow the flowers on the floor (which we thought were chicken feet at first, missed opportunity there lol) to order. They have 12 FLAVORS of chicken salad, check the pics! We THOUGHT chicken salad came in one flavor: church picnic leftovers. WE WERE WRONG. We went with a sweet, traditional- ish version, FANCY NANCY. We got it on the SIDE as a scoop and ordered a Turkey Club and a soup as well. WE ARE FANS! As someone who ONLY ate chicken salad before when forced (and used potato chips to deliver said chicken salad to mouth), this place is DELICIOUS! We can't wait to try the other 11 flavors! But the chicken salad wasn't great, was a little on the dry side, and the chicken was pulverized. It was almost a paste instead of small chunks of chicken mixed with other stuff. The Mac and cheese, also, was disappointing. It tasted chalky, and not at all like cheese. It was like chalky Kraft mac. Finally, the cookie that other reviews raved about was like the sugar cookies they sell in packs at grocery stores like Walmart, with the thick, dry icing and sprinkles - but also chalky and crumbly.
