Love this coffee shop! It is charming and warm inside, with stained glass windows and antique lamps. They always have swag, stuff from the old glass factory and artists work sale on a little shelf. The service is amazing, everyone is kind and helpful. I've been here at least 10 times now and I can confirm the whole staff is great. It's a wonderful community space too with lots of flyers and cards to check out. They have a local artist every month fill up a small hallway gallery space. Theirs plenty of seating of all sorts- big central table, little nooks, comfy chairs out in the hallway, and a really nice covered outdoor patio. This is one of my favorite places in Alton!

Cofffee was amazing!! We got a hot hazelnut latte and an iced caramel latte. Space to sit is small but there are tables outside in the hall as well. I also ordered their chicken salad, which comes with crackers if they are out of bread.

Why haven't I found Marva's earlier? Maeva is a hidden treasure at the Alton area. It is a coffee & tea shop and also a cocktail bar. It is decorated like a world travel library. I would never discovered this gem without guidance from Yelpers. This place becomes my new favorite in the area. They serves great drinks, delicious pastries and snacks. Service was excellent. The servers provided great advice on drinks and pastries options. Free WiFi was available. What I love? 1) The meat quiche is amazing. Highly recommended! 2) The tea options are limited but all delicious. You get to choose your mug size at the same price. 3) I tried the strawberry matcha drink. The servers made it fresh on the spot. It's delicious. I can't wait to come back

Maeva's is such a gorgeous little spot for coffee! They have ample space inside and outside. It's such a cozy space, perfect for a weekend coffee stop to go leaf peeping along the river road! Their Irish coffee was delicious with perfectly balanced flavors and the cream on top was just the right consistency. The Iced Pumpkin Spice latte was perfect with fresh pumpkin syrup and almost a chai tea vibe! Staff was very friendly and they have free WiFi available. They also had a delicious selection of pastries to eat in or to take home. Add this to your next weekend roadtrip in the StL area!

Maeva's is simply amazing. It's a throwback to the vintage coffee shops of the 70's. If I walked in with a tie-dyed t-shirt on and sandals, I would have felt right at home. Maeva's is tucked inside a old school and they've converted one of the old classrooms into one of the most charming coffee shop in Alton. Even with its local popularity, it is still one of the best kept secrets, that needs to be let out. They have a very extensive drink menu for both hot and cold beverages. What blew my mind, is when I found out they do all of their own baking. My Blueberry Coffee Cake was to die for and I cannot wait to come back and try their "famous" Monkey Bread. Another item on the food menu, that is an must try is the quiche. They are the perfect size for one, almost like a personalized pizza. I love how they worked the old school house charm into the decor. They have old fashioned encyclopedias on bookshelves Many of us grew up using them, before there was the internet and Google. Good to see they can still be used today. The staff/barista is not what you'd find at a Starbucks. They're much better. If you're in Alton and needing a cup of coffee, be sure to check this place out. I guarantee, you will not be disappointed.

I have been trying to get my butt though the door for years! My husbands family lives in the neighborhood across the street and every time we pass it we say we need to try it! Well we finally did! This place is so cute!! I love the old floors and stained glass windows. Love the vibes! I wasn't really feeling any of their seasonal drinks, so I just ordered a Chai Latte. Tasty! We will definitely make this a stop every time we visit the area!

Solid coffee shop. I had the drip coffee and a quiche. The coffee was delicious and the quiche was great with lots of meat and veggies. I didn't eat the crust but it wad super flaky. Would definitely hit this place again, if in the area. .

I love this place so much. Best coffee shop around here. The employees are very personable, and I consider them friends. They welcome me and my cat every time we come. Definitely stop by here. Their drinks are also delicious!

The poppyseed vinaigrette was dairy free and just perfect. My matcha latte and Clyde's coffee latte were delicious. Troy had pizza and he loved the crust ( he had regular but they DO offer GF crust AND vegan cheese!). Sam's French Toast looked amazing in all its gluten-filled glory. We also tried the immunity shots from CJ's Juicery and they were dynamite. If we still lived here full time I'd be making the drive over from STL once a week for that breakfast salad and matcha. The menu is varied and thoughtful, altho I would love to see them find a way to offer at least one gluten free bread (I bet their avocado toast rocks!). As I learn my new hometown, those needs are being fulfilled by new discoveries. I have always enjoyed buying my olive oils and balsamics from small speciality shops. Especially, little mom and pop stores. Their personalized customer service always seems to go a step beyond. I find that to be true here at the, Olive Oil Marketplace. Moving in a pandemic and cooking more at home while restaurants are shut down for eat-in, my inventory of olive oil was getting depleted fast. While I was shopping for furniture across the street, I noticed OOM as I returned to my car. Needing to stock up on olive oil, I popped inside and was pleasantly surprised. Their offerings were as extensive as some of my favorite boutiques in STL, so I felt at ease. The sales associate working that day was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. She asked about my preferences and different things that I liked. She also offered me little samplings to assist me in making my decisions. I was immediately sold on the, Jalapeño Olive Oil. Her letting me sample and sharing her opinion on, Tunisian EVOO sold me. It was so smooth and it was organic, too. In addition to the two bottles of olive oil, I purchased some Italian Herb Balsamic. No kitchen is complete without a bottle of it. While I was checking out, they signed me up for their rewards program. Which is a good thing, because I know I am going to be a regular. Good inventory and customer service is going to keep me coming back. To my surprise, you get a small free bottle on your birthday and since mine was just a day or two away, they honored it.
