Great staff, coffees and treats. Lisa is always infectiously cheerful. In and out fairly quick, or sit down there. Nice place.

Dirty right as you enter, children behind the counter we found very unsanitary watching a little one…read morehandle the treats upfront, waitress smelled of alcohol at 1130 in the morning, had to ask several times for a refill of coffee, food was great ..this was back in 2021..I have since over the last 3 mths stopped by a few times but it doesn't appear open very run down looking building no one is ever there anymore..I did find a cafe= bakery at the opposite corner it was amazing that was open it was worth the drive I'd recommend that one instead atleast they are open during business hours

Place lacked reviews, but the reviews were good so I thought I'd give it a shot for breakfast…read more Reviews were accurate. I had biscuits and gravy and hash brown casserole, they taste like the best homemade you could get. Coffee was perfect, I drank it black. I passed on the baked goods, but I will definitely return here to try them. The atmosphere is definitely different, but it is relaxed and quiet. Almost like a bed and breakfast? But without the bed lol. You walk into a counter, which is also where you order and pay, and where the baked goods are displayed. Server was kind and asked how they could help me and I was confused and thought maybe I went in the wrong entrance lol. The dining area is not visible from the counter. I said I would like to dine in, they took my order at the counter, and directed me to the dining area, which is to the right of the counter past a living space. The dining area is a small, quiet room, which I really enjoyed. Everything was clean, service was great, they were attentive but not overbearing. Price was appropriate. This place is definitely a hidden gem.

The chocolate is oh so good! Love taking family and friends here when they visit. Friendliest staff…read moreas well!

You could spend the night in a candy/chocolate shoppe right in the heart of Highland! Too…read moredelicious to be true?? Nope! When visiting Highland and Aviston, Illinois we passed by The Chocolate Affairs shop while leaving the 9th Street Cafe. We couldn't help ourselves from noticing the young owner Jen busy wheeling away carts of fresh chocolate-covered strawberries to the town's Art Festival. We went inside and were surrounding by tons of little knick-knacks, crafts, souvenirs, and of course, sweets! One of the four rooms is dedicated specifically as the "Candy Room." Caramel pecan patties, real butter creams, hand dipped caramels and chocolate potato chips, to name a few! I enjoyed the chocolate covered toffee with peanuts. Mmm mmm! They also rent out chocolate fountains for your next event. As for the bed and breakfast...It's a historic house built in 1914 by Dr. Tibbetts. The house accommodates guests with 3 bedrooms, each having its own private baths and theme (Angel, Quilt and Blue Rooms). Guests also have full use of a parlor, dining room, kitchen and deck. The best part is you can enjoy chocolate chip cookies and refreshments on arrival, chocolate gift baskets in the bedrooms and a sample from the chocolate case overnight! Continental Breakfast is the Chocolate Lovers Special featuring Triple Chocolate Mess Cake and Chocolate Covered Strawberries. What more could a chocolate lover dream of?!?! I can't wait to spend the night here during my next visit!
