Holiday tea event.
Debby A.

We went for the special holiday tea event and it was magnificent. There were two violinists, multiple tea, champagne, and food items. Martha, Kieran, and Tyler made the experience special. The environment - the building is an old mansion with floor to ceiling windows and it is beautifully decorated. I have been for lunch and their food and pastries are always delicious. This place is a gem in the Alton/Godfrey area.

Luciannas has been a favorite of mine since they were on State Street. And now they offer a food menu, in addition to pastries. My most recent visit I had the crab imperial, which I still regularly think about. I think it's a seasonal dish, so I'm eagerly awaiting it to return to the menu. The new location is lovely, and there's so much parking! (Which used to be an issue on Broadway). They have a beautiful, cozy indoor space as well as outdoor seating. I love stopping by and grabbing a chocolate croissant or Tuxedo mousse cheesecake. Service is always friendly!

Just had a delicious lunch from their relatively new location. Goat cheese crostini and cucumber salad. It was fresh and delicious. Also beautiful. The shop is located inside a beautiful huge old home(?). My order was taken by whom I assume is chef. He was so charming and sweet! Parking is easy and there's seating inside and out.

Very enjoyable. Loved their new location and the added menu items. Great outdoor and indoor seating.

Pub pie with salad

From the beautiful exterior, well appointed bathroom, lovely dining area you know you are at a special place. I spotted the savory mini quiches, shepherd's pie, pub pies and more which are hard to find. I selected the pub (pork) pie made by their savory chef who brings his Irish talent to the incredible offerings. The Executive Chef was out there in front. Friendly service. They added a side salad which was light and tasty. The pub pie came with a fresh chutney like topping that was delicious. Perfect lunch. I ordered the lemon tart, chocolate croissant and gluten free almond chocolate pastry, all excellent. The atmosphere, menu is all worth my 1 and a half hour trip. For those with sophisticated palettes, well traveled you will appreciate this gem.

Delish dessert

The food is always top of the line. The service is always so amazing that even if the food was terrible I would return. The ambience is very warm and welcoming. I feel like family everytime I go. This past Sunday the special was Guinness Stew with mashed potatoes. Made from the Irish Chef/Owner. If I could give 10 stars it still wouldn't be enough stars. I can not express my delight in words. If you have not tried this gem, you are really missing out!

Beef tenderloin

Hosted a bridal shower recently and ordered all the food from LuciAnna's. It was wonderful and enjoyed by all. Ordered the pulled chicken cucumber sandwiches on brioche buns, beef tenderloin served on crostini with spicy mustard and crème fresh, fresh fruit salad and mini desserts..pistachio and Black Forest mini cannolis, mini lemon and espresso tarts, and Nanaimo bars. Oh my word! All so very good. Many compliments received from guests! Thank you to Martha and staff. Will utilize their services again!

When LuciAnna's temporary closed, I was devastated because it is my favorite pastry shop in Alton, but now it is back and better than ever! The space that they occupy is just a couple of blocks down from the original and the space is so much bigger! They have several cute rooms to sit and enjoy your pastries in. What I ordered: today I got the baklava and let me tell ya, it's my favorite baklava in Illinois. It's perfectly moist and flakey. Normally I get the chocolate pecan pie (not sure of the official name), but it is always delicious. My boyfriend got the Belgian brownie. It was very rich and chocolatey. I came here on my birthday and they gave me a free cookie! I am happy LuciAnnas is back and better than ever!

Cozy atmosphere.

Great quiche! I also loved the almond croissant. Fresh flowers on the table, quiet, relaxing atmosphere. Love this place. Wish you were open later than 3pm

Could you be any better? Could your quiche be more perfect? Nope. Keep doing what you're doing. We love you.

Nice people. Great pastries. But get there early for their croissants if that is what you want. They tend to sell out.

There are several new boutique bakeries that have opened in the Alton area and they're good too, but when it comes to traditional baked goods and donuts, nothing beats Duke. They are know for their donuts, my favorite is the Chocolate Long John and a sack of Donut Holes. Another local favorite they serve up is the Cream Horn. It's decadent cream wrapped in a flakey shell. I've branched out instead of getting my standard order and tried the Cinnamon Roll and Cheese Danish. A few seconds in the microwave and you've got a tasty accompaniment to your morning coffee or tea. The staff is young, and they are both friendly and professional. Good bakery items and friendly customer service, gets me as a repeat customer. If you're a selfie person, they have two great places for photos out front of the bakery, Snap Away.

I've ordered a variety of different breakfasts and have never been disappointed. My recent outing, I enjoyed their Chicken Fried Steak with a side of scrambled eggs, Hash Browns and a Biscuit. When the waitress asked if I wanted Hash Browns or American Fries, I asked her what her favorite was and she said Hash Browns and she recommended adding onions. I took her advice and she was so right. I also liked that they put the Milk Gravy on the side, so I could add it to my Chicken Fried Steak and to my fluffy biscuit. Another thing that I like here, is their seasoning. They do not over salt in the preparation. The service here is friendly and attentive. I typically sit at the small counter, so I do not tie up one of the tables dining alone. One of the advantages of sitting at the counter, my coffee cup is never empty. All the waitress keep it full, since the coffee station is right there. I need to expand my experience and go here for lunch. I've heard the burgers are pretty delicious, too.

The chocolate chip pancakes were delicious (it's been so long since I've had pancakes this good) and the corned beef hash and potatoes was excellent too. Not to mention, you can get breakfast all day, I'm pretty sure.
