I stumbled upon this gem while my GPS was directing me to the nearby post office. I love tea rooms, and the name caught my eye. While I was in the post office parking lot, I did a quick search and thought, "No way! Why hasn't this place ever shown up when I search for cafes?" I am always looking for cute lunch spots, and it's a shame this place has never come up because it's amazing! I arrived about 1.5 hours before closing, so I didn't order tea; I prefer to sip and read, so I'll save that for a time when I can truly enjoy it. However, I did try the grilled caprese, which was delicious. I also noticed there was a hash brown casserole and got excited. I asked the patient waitress if it contained eggs (I'm not a fan of egg yolks), and she kindly went to check for me. I was delighted to hear that it contained no eggs, so I ordered it. I wish I had gotten a double portion because it was SO good! The only reason I didn't give a full 5 stars was due to the parking situation. The lot is tiny, and circling around to snag a spot before someone else does is quite stressful. All that said, I wish this place were open on the weekends! I work Monday through Friday and rarely take a day off unless I have several errands that need my attention. However, the next time I do take a day off work, I will definitely fit in lunch here!

My mother and I visited today and had a wonderful lunch! I ordered the pick two with a sandwich and soup and my mom order the special for the day which was a BLT wrap and potato salad. The restaurant was decorated very nicely and even though it was busy we had a great service! We both ordered dessert to go since we were full! I l love that they bring the tray out so you can see their desserts of the day, each one looked better than the last! I would highly recommend for a relaxing lunch during the week. Not a place to go if you are in a hurry.

I have not been to this restaurant in a while. I'm from Illinois and moved to St. Charles about 2 years ago. I drool at their IG posts of their desserts and daily specials. My friend offered to take me to lunch for my birthday. I was a little disappointed today. I ordered the chicken salad on wheat berry toast. I was served bread with a heel. My friend asked if the pasta salad was oil or mayonnaise based. She was told oil based. It was all mayonnaise. I tried to order the lemon raspberry cake on the menu, but was told they ran out, but never erased it from the dessert menu board. I also tried to order two salads from the pick three and was told I couldn't do that that I had to order a soup so I was charged extra. I hope it improves when I get the next chance to stop by. I do love the poppyseed dressing!

The Weeping Willow Tea Room is such a cute spot to grab a light meal, try some delicious teas, and some delicious sweet treats all at the same place! Their sweet treats are some of my favorites out there!

Previously located in Bethalto, Illinois, The Weeping Willow Tea Room no located in Glen Carbon, Illinois is a huge hit! I am addicted to the chicken salad sandwich and literally every single dessert is pure bliss. The staff is always super friendly and helpful, providing a welcoming experience. I feel as if I'm visiting a friend at their house for lunch when I visit!

We recently discovered this new restaurant in Maryville, located at the previous Plan, Shop, Live…read morelocation. They're currently doing a soft opening so we decided to give them a try. Their menu is small but well chosen. They have plates and sandwiches with a choice of pulled pork or pulled brisket and ribs are available on the plates. They also have hamburgers and specials such as smoked meatloaf. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our visit. The restaurant is small but bright and cheerful. We ordered a pulled pork sandwich with fries and brisket sandwich with hush puppies and they also shared with me a sample of their smoked meatloaf. The pulled pork sandwich had a generous amount of meat and was quite tasty. The fries are home style, tasting like they were freshly cut and while they had good flavor, they weren't crispy at all so the wife and I didn't really care for them much. The brisket sandwich also had a generous amount of meat and great flavor though I would have enjoyed it more if it was sliced rather than pulled. The hush puppies may have actually been the star of the show, some of the best I've ever eaten, crispy on the outside and moist and flavorful on the inside. HOWEVER, they have diced bell peppers in them so you won't like them if you're not a fan of bell peppers. Without the diced pepper, I believe they'd be a hit with EVERYONE. Finally, the meatloaf. It's moist and has great flavor marred only by just a tiny hint of bitterness, the kind you get on your smoker when the smoke is a bit too dark rather than "clean" smoke. It's not enough to prevent me from ordering it again though. Give this new business a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed, As a new business, they're sure to experience growing pains but they have all of the ingredients to be a success. Let's help them succeed!

If you're someone who likes variety at breakfast, the Sunday buffet is a really good deal. I enjoy having multiple breakfast items, and that kind of variety usually gets expensive if you order à la carte at other restaurants. Because of that, the buffet feels like a huge savings. Everything on the buffet was hot and well stocked. The biscuits are more like canned, layered biscuits, but they're still good. We especially liked the gravy, biscuits, sausage patties, bacon, chicken strips, pancakes, and hash browns. The eggs were standard scrambled eggs and mixed in well with everything else. The only awkward part of the buffet is getting to it. You have to walk down a narrow hallway past the kitchen, which can feel a little uncomfortable when people are passing each other. Because of that, I'd recommend sitting in the buffet area if possible--it just makes things easier. On our third visit, we tried the burgers and sandwiches, and they were really good. The burger reminded me of a classic drive-in style burger. I ordered the mushroom Swiss, and while it was solid, I wish they offered an aioli or more savory mayo option. That said, it was still very good with the mayo packet they provide. The bun was pillowy soft, the burger was tender, and it held together well without falling apart. My fiancé ordered the pork tenderloin and said it was good, though I can't speak much on it myself. The fries were cooked well. One small downside for me was the upcharge for choosing a side other than chips. Chips work fine with a sandwich, but for burgers, I wish there were more included options unless the restaurant makes their own chips. That's more of a personal preference than a dealbreaker. Overall, we've really enjoyed the food and have already been back several times. I can definitely see us returning. With the current cost of eating out, this place feels like a good value--especially the Sunday buffet. The gift card deal they're running is also a nice bonus.

I will say this is an old school diner with everything to match. Luckily the prices matched up with the old school decor. The buffet is set out on the patio and there were plenty of options. From salad, to your favorite breakfast items- eggs, hashbrowns, sausage links, sausage patties, bacon, pancakes. Then there was biscuits and gravy, Mac n cheese mashed potatoes and gravy, chicken nuggets, chicken tenders, pasta, meatballs, brats and some packaged little dessert cakes and muffins. It was a great value for $14.95 and if you have a big family it is an affordable way to eat out and feed the whole family. My server was great, she talked highly of the place and with passion when I mentioned it was my first visit. I had a 2 meat platter, pulled pork & shrimp with mac & cheese & baked beans, wife had wings. To say were impressed in an understatement, the food was fresh, which that early we weren't expecting fresh but hoping for it since most BBQ places at that hour serve yesterday's leftovers warmed in a microwave but NOT HERE! The staff was welcoming and patient while explaining the menu to us. Service was just as good as the food, it seemed everyone was in a good mood and that goes straight back to management. The burnt ends were the star of the show, so juicy! My brisket was a tad dry. They also put the sauce in the fridge so it's cold, but there might not be a way to avoid that food-safety wise. Their wings are also really good. The mac-n-cheese side is good. You order at the counter and they give you a number and bring your food out to you. The only other thing I don't love is there's two rooms, the main room and a room off to the side, and especially if you are in the side room, it feels like you are crammed in there with a ton of other people and sometimes it gets really loud. When it's nice enough, we prefer to sit outside as they have a few picnic benches off to the side that are covered.
