One of my cousins raved about the lunches at Mio, so I came to give it a try. The menu was a little different than the dinner menu and I expected that. I liked how they offered a Half & Half. You can create your own combo with; sandwiches, salads, pastas and soups. My combo included, Caesar Salad and Salsiccia Bernardi. Bernardi is a sandwich with, Italian sausage and Italian Beef with pepperoncini and pepper jack cheese. It was a lot of food, I ended up taking half of a half sandwich home. It was just as delicious as a snack, while watching Jeopardy that afternoon. I'll definitely be back for another lunch. A couple days later after my lunch, I brought friends visiting from Connecticut for dinner. They were blown away and have already told other local friends how much they enjoyed their experience. There were five of us dining and our entrees had a seafood theme. The two ladies enjoyed the salmon which was a night special and I enjoyed the shrimp special of the night. The other two gentleman had Tutto Mare and another shrimp pasta. In addition to our entrees, we killed three bottles of wine. Our service was outstanding, our server told us it was relatively new to Mio Osteria and she was nailing it. The hostess was professional and friendly and the bartender when I enjoyed an early arrival cocktail was masterful in his skills. We called ahead (highly recommend doing this) and they told us it'd be about an hour wait, but offered to put us on a waitlist and call when a table opened up. Perfect -- signed us right up! They called back in under 20 minutes. We ordered a drink, calamari, the Tutto Mare, and the daily special: Cajun Chicken Pasta. Everything was so good -- but OMG, the Tutto Mare stole the show. If you have an opportunity to dine at Mio Osteria, run to do so...do not walk. Reservation is highly recommended, though the 10 or so bar seats and 15 or so patio tables are first come first served. We arrived on a Saturday night without a reservation and it was packed. We enjoyed a glass of wine while waiting the 30-40 min for a patio table. The restaurant is pretty small, but has an inviting and intimate vibe, not cramped. Menu has a nice variety of unique Italian dishes for fun exploring, though you can find more recognizable choices too. When seated we shared a house salad that had a delicious, understated vinaigrette dressing. My wife had the ravioli, and I had the filet with Marsala sauce. We tried one of their cheesecakes and a blueberry lemon cake for dessert. All so flavorful and fresh from the kitchen. McKenna provided truly excellent service, and her sincere enjoyment in making our dinner special was infectious. Erica, the owner stopped by and sat down with us for a very brief conversation to make sure all went well. We left feeling like we'd just enjoyed a meal with family (that is, the side of the family you like haha). We decided to try Mia Osteria on short notice on a Monday. We had no idea what a treat we were in for. We started with the Carciofi Fritti and the Calamari. Both were exceptional. The artichokes were nice and crispy served with a really good aioli. The marinara with the calamari was also wonderful. We shared a Caesar Salad which was one of the best I've ever tasted. Next we shared a pasta course of Cacio e Pepe. It was fabulous. For an entree we shared a veal dish that was amazing. It was a special item, not on the menu. I don't know what it was called but it was one of the best veal dishes I've had. The veal was perfectly tender in a sauce that was very different and delicious. It was a mix of marinara and cheese and again, was truly delicious. The service was impeccable. Just the right level of attention. The portions were more than generous. The ambiance was perfect. My husband took me to Mio Osteria today for my birthday. I've been wanting to go for some time. It was fabulous! The food was delicious, the wine was great, and the service was perfect. We had reservations and were seated right away. Water and a warm bread basket were served quickly. Our server was very prompt to take our drink orders. When those were delivered, she asked if we were ready to order so we did. DH ordered half and half, half an Italian Beef sandwich (which looked like a full-sized sandwich when it came) and half Pasta Mio. I ordered a Caesar's Salad and Cacio e Peppe. I got the chicken piccata which was very tender and flavorful. I got it with the garlic noodles on the side which were so good. The owner made a point to come out and check in with everyone's meals and that felt like such a personal touch! Not to mention, our server was friendly and had great recommendations! As far as the food goes, every single drink and dish we ordered was top notch. We ordered the Chilean sea bass and the watermelon cocktail off the specials menu and it was impeccable. If you get a chance to order the "for the girls" (or something like that), you should! It was a drink with a feta-cheese foam which sounded odd but ended up being so perfect for the drink! We ordered the panzenella salad and it was like no other salad I've ever had. The glaze on the tomatoes and cucumbers was so delicious. Then I also ordered the Tutto mare and it was so yummy! I would recommend it, but I would bet any dish on this menu is just as phenomenal as that dish was. 10/10 recommend. This is the place to go! This place is popular!! They open at 5. We arrived about 5:10, without a reservation, and all the bar seats were full, but we got lucky, as they had one table available!! Our server was great!! Ordered a couple drinks from the bar, both were good. I had the Caesar salad, it was just ok. On a previous visit I had the house salad, which I enjoyed more. We ordered the specials for the evening; my chicken was good, but nothing special, and the side for the evening was, well, weird. . The dessert tray looked amazing as our server went through all the options, but we decided to try one or two of those another time. When I first noticed MO in the neighborhood, I was pleased to see a good-sized parking area (suburbanite John H. thinks twice about approaching restaurants where the search for a parking space creates a headache). However, "parking area" does not equal "no trees," as there are enough around to create pleasant shady places on a sunny day. "Maybe I'll throw it in your face!" - That was the reply I got from a waitress after saying that I might have one of those too (referring to a cake desert that she was taking to a customer). After saying that, she just cracked up laughing and walked away. That's about as funny as "Maybe I'll spit in your food". I called and spoke with the owner. At my request, she did refund the meal. Two hours later, she called back asking for my address to send a gift card, assuring me that she would deal with the situation. I emailed in a contact address the next day through their website. Again, a nice balance of lemon and garlic. My main course was the pasta Carciofi which contained linguine with artichoke hearts, prosciutto and chicken in olive oil, basil, garlic. Again, excellent. The only way to improve it would have been with fresh pasta. My husband had the chicken Marsala. I stopped in for lunch a few weeks ago and I'm STILL thinking about the bistecca sandwich and Caesar salad. First: the steak sandwich. They did it RIGHT. Instead of giving a mess of overcooked beef chunks, I got two small filets, cooked medium-rare (as requested), and that was everything. That sandwich was an experience. Absolutely delicious. And the Caesar salad... I mean, I have had a lot of Caesar salads. And I can't even tell you WHY this one was so freaking good- but it was. It just WAS. Easily one of the best Caesar salads I've ever had- and it's hard to make such a basic thing so memorable. The scallops were amazing Our service wasn't exceptional but it wasn't terrible either. The dining room was full the whole time we were there, and I would say it felt like we were being rushed out the door. But the server was kind and helpful when we had questions about the menu. We had our new years eve meal here and it was wonderful! I always try something different when we dine here and have never been disappointed. Lauren is an awesome server as well! Very friendly, happy and down to earth. It was of course very busy but she was very attentive and took great care of us insuring we had everything we wanted. Some friends and I had dinner and drinks here the other night. Wow! A beautiful space! The bar is set up really nicely and the bar stools are incredibly comfy ... I almost didn't want to move once our table was ready. The menu has a little something for everyone and none of it seems too expensive. We tried the calamari, fried artichokes, bruschetta, and roasted cauliflower - all spectacular. For dinner, I opted for the Fettuccine Pistachio and it was delicious, plenty to take home.
