Stopped in for lunch today! I had Tutto Mare and my wife had Chicken Piccata both were delicious! I also had a Caesar salad which was perfect. The high reviews on this place are correct this place is awesome! The service was prompt and friendly. The restaurant is beautiful and very appealing! We will definitely be back!
One of my cousins raved about the lunches at Mio, so I came to give it a try. The menu was a little different than the dinner menu and I expected that. I liked how they offered a Half & Half. You can create your own combo with; sandwiches, salads, pastas and soups. My combo included, Caesar Salad and Salsiccia Bernardi. Bernardi is a sandwich with, Italian sausage and Italian Beef with pepperoncini and pepper jack cheese. It was a lot of food, I ended up taking half of a half sandwich home. It was just as delicious as a snack, while watching Jeopardy that afternoon. I'll definitely be back for another lunch. A couple days later after my lunch, I brought friends visiting from Connecticut for dinner. They were blown away and have already told other local friends how much they enjoyed their experience. There were five of us dining and our entrees had a seafood theme. The two ladies enjoyed the salmon which was a night special and I enjoyed the shrimp special of the night. The other two gentleman had Tutto Mare and another shrimp pasta. In addition to our entrees, we killed three bottles of wine. Our service was outstanding, our server told us it was relatively new to Mio Osteria and she was nailing it. The hostess was professional and friendly and the bartender when I enjoyed an early arrival cocktail was masterful in his skills. If you want Italian in Edwardsville, I highly recommend Mio Osteria.
Mio is so yummy! The calamari and bruschetta appetizers were delicious. My husband tried the Cajun pasta which was their pasta special for that evening and I had the Bolognese- both were hearty and filling. We also celebrated my husbands birthday and they brought out a sweet treat with a candle, incredibly sweet. I was sad they were out of the vanilla ice cream for the affogato but cannot wait to come back so I can try it! We also enjoyed the moody lighting
Such a cozy little spot in the neighborhood Absolutely love the vibe here! We called ahead (highly recommend doing this) and they told us it'd be about an hour wait, but offered to put us on a waitlist and call when a table opened up. Perfect -- signed us right up! They called back in under 20 minutes. We ordered a drink, calamari, the Tutto Mare, and the daily special: Cajun Chicken Pasta. Everything was so good -- but OMG, the Tutto Mare stole the show. Since they were out of clams, they gave us extra shrimp and crab chunks -- so flavorful and perfectly ocean-y. Our waitress was A-mazing -- super welcoming and helpful. 100% my new favorite place in Edwardsville!
Great new addition to the Edwardsville food scene. Kind of an old school Italian restaurant vibe. Located in a neighborhood close to business area of downtown. Some street parking and small lot at the business. Salads and pasta were all delicious. Staff were prompt and knowledgeable of the menu. Cool place to hangout for a drink .
Tried here today because I read many good things about it. And those things were not wrong! We tried the Shrimp Gamberi and Bruschetta from the starters. Then, we both had Tutto Mare for our entrees. Everything was outstanding. It looked good, smelled good, and tasted authentic and delectable! Everyone was kind, helpful, and attentive. The only drawbacks I saw (and these aren't enough to keep me away) were the difficult parking and crowded dining area. I think they are working to alleviate the parking issues. And I can't blame the crowds... it's delicious!
If you have an opportunity to dine at Mio Osteria, run to do so...do not walk. Reservation is highly recommended, though the 10 or so bar seats and 15 or so patio tables are first come first served. We arrived on a Saturday night without a reservation and it was packed. We enjoyed a glass of wine while waiting the 30-40 min for a patio table. The restaurant is pretty small, but has an inviting and intimate vibe, not cramped. Menu has a nice variety of unique Italian dishes for fun exploring, though you can find more recognizable choices too. When seated we shared a house salad that had a delicious, understated vinaigrette dressing. My wife had the ravioli, and I had the filet with Marsala sauce. We tried one of their cheesecakes and a blueberry lemon cake for dessert. All so flavorful and fresh from the kitchen. McKenna provided truly excellent service, and her sincere enjoyment in making our dinner special was infectious. Erica, the owner stopped by and sat down with us for a very brief conversation to make sure all went well. We left feeling like we'd just enjoyed a meal with family (that is, the side of the family you like haha). This is a very special restaurant, our new, very most favorite place in the area, and not to be missed Highest recommendation and we will return soon!
WOW!!! We were absolutely blown away. From the service (Andrew, you are incredibly kind, knowledgeable and welcoming), to the amazing dishes served, this is our new favorite restaurant.
Mio is such an awesome addition to Edwardsville. The interior is warm, inviting, and lively. Service is always great and the food is exceptional! I am so obsessed with the homemade crackers they bring you at the beginning of your meal. I ask for some to go and they always oblige. The lunch specials are great and their salads, sandwiches, and soups are amazing! The crab bisque was phenomenal. My favorite salad is the Della Casa and favorite sandwich is the Bistecca. It's delicious and portions are large. Their pasta is also great and last time we were there, I ordered spumoni ice cream and it was unreal. Mio will continue to be one of our favorite restaurants!
If If I could give 10 stars I would . This place blew my husband and I away. We have been several times now since discovering this place a couple months ago. Nice people , fresh food that is always cooked perfectly and the cocktails are phenomenal! Have tried several things on the menu and everything has been so great!

We decided to try Mia Osteria on short notice on a Monday. We had no idea what a treat we were in for. We started with the Carciofi Fritti and the Calamari. Both were exceptional. The artichokes were nice and crispy served with a really good aioli. The marinara with the calamari was also wonderful. We shared a Caesar Salad which was one of the best I've ever tasted. Next we shared a pasta course of Cacio e Pepe. It was fabulous. For an entree we shared a veal dish that was amazing. It was a special item, not on the menu. I don't know what it was called but it was one of the best veal dishes I've had. The veal was perfectly tender in a sauce that was very different and delicious. It was a mix of marinara and cheese and again, was truly delicious. The service was impeccable. Just the right level of attention. The portions were more than generous. The ambiance was perfect. It was warm and cozy. Bravo Mia Osteria.
We've eaten here several times now and the food is consistent and delicious. Their salads are excellent, good cocktails, and we've enjoyed every entree. Good service, always busy, with a friendly staff. This is a great addition for Edwardsville and worth your time the next you're looking for a great meal.

Mio Osteria was packed when I arrived, but I was able to find a seat at the bar, which turned out to be a great decision. I've found that sitting at the bar is often a fun way to dine because people tend to be friendly and open to conversation. I met a nice gentleman who suggested I try the chicken Marsala with rigatoni in a red sauce, and he did not steer me wrong! The chicken was well seasoned, and the sauce was absolutely delicious. I paired it with a spritz that was light, refreshing, and a nice complement to the meal (no picture, I was famished) The restaurant had a lively, welcoming atmosphere, and I'm looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu. My one wish...A traditional meat-based lasagna on the menu. I'd be all over that Honorable mention: they have Hanks Cheesecakes on the dessert menu! Overall, a really enjoyable first visit, and I'll definitely be back. read more

Wow. Can't wait to go back. Steak was unreal, pasta just absolutely delicious. Started out the a chocolate martini - the bar was hopping. Smaller place and pretty loud if you're looking for romantic and quiet, but great if you need a little of that vibe. Service was also top-notch. Desserts were on point! read more

We arrived in Edwardsville and walked over for dinner. The place was packed but there was a table in the corner. Our server was being trained and did a great job for us. The dining room was very lively with all ages represented. It had a very comfortable feeling. The food was excellent. My pasta was perfectly cooked and the sauce and seafood were perfectly matched. The Caesar salad had a very appealing dressing with perfectly chilled romain with perfect shrimp. Portion size was very generous. read more

Hands down the best dining experience I've had in so long. Not only was the food delicious, but the service was impeccable. Every single interaction was met with smiles and great conversation. The owner made a point to come out and check in with everyone's meals and that felt like such a personal touch! Not to mention, our server was friendly and had great recommendations! As far as the food goes, every single drink and dish we ordered was top notch. We ordered the Chilean sea bass and the watermelon cocktail off the specials menu and it was impeccable. If you get a chance to order the "for the girls" (or something like that), you should! It was a drink with a feta-cheese foam which sounded odd but ended up being so perfect for the drink! We ordered the panzenella salad and it was like no other salad I've ever had. The glaze on the tomatoes and cucumbers was so delicious. Then I also ordered the Tutto mare and it was so yummy! I would recommend it, but I would bet any dish on this menu is just as phenomenal as that dish was. 10/10 recommend. This is the place to go! We did not have reservations, but showed up right as they opened for dinner and we were able to sit on the patio. Great atmosphere! I would recommend getting a reservation if you get the chance just so you can guarantee you can eat here because it is so amazing! read more

So Good!! I had such a good experience at mio osteria! The service was beyond helpful and kind. The menu has a lot of different items for everyone which is great. I got the chicken piccata which was very tender and flavorful. I got it with the garlic noodles on the side which were so good. We had a few apps at the table like the cauliflower and bruschetta and they were large portions. The drink menu was awesome. I got to try a few different things and loved them all. The ambiance is my favorite part. It's a cozy smaller spot with great lighting. You feel right at home. I can't wait to come back. read more

This place is popular!! They open at 5. We arrived about 5:10, without a reservation, and all the bar seats were full, but we got lucky, as they had one table available!! Our server was great!! Ordered a couple drinks from the bar, both were good. I had the Caesar salad, it was just ok. On a previous visit I had the house salad, which I enjoyed more. We ordered the specials for the evening; my chicken was good, but nothing special, and the side for the evening was, well, weird. . The dessert tray looked amazing as our server went through all the options, but we decided to try one or two of those another time. It is not a big space, and when it's full, it does get loud and bustling with servers making sure everyone is happy. We will make a return trip and order off the menu next time!! read more

This gem is centered amidst a small neighborhood and emits charm esthetically. If you are looking for flavor, variety and exceptional service you will want to stop here. Hard to get a reservation at prime time but patio and bar are open seating. read more

Our dinner started strong: eggplant Parmesan appetizer. The blend of flavors was delicious and the sauce was a perfect balance of fresh tomato and garlic. Next came the Cesear salad. Again, a nice balance of lemon and garlic. My main course was the pasta Carciofi which contained linguine with artichoke hearts, prosciutto and chicken in olive oil, basil, garlic. Again, excellent. The only way to improve it would have been with fresh pasta. My husband had the chicken Marsala. To my taste it was a bit over sauced, although the sauce was flavorful and had a generous amount of Marsala in it. read more

Let me start with the food. Everything was delicious. From apps, to salad, and I tried 3/5 pastas at the table and all were excellent. The scallops were amazing Our service wasn't exceptional but it wasn't terrible either. The dining room was full the whole time we were there, and I would say it felt like we were being rushed out the door. But the server was kind and helpful when we had questions about the menu. The ambiance is much more casual than I was expecting based on some other reviews. No need to get dressed up! The restaurant is VERY loud, like many others have mentioned. The outdoor seating seems like it would be a great option if you enjoy a patio dinner! read more

Some friends and I had dinner and drinks here the other night. Wow! A beautiful space! The bar is set up really nicely and the bar stools are incredibly comfy ... I almost didn't want to move once our table was ready. The menu has a little something for everyone and none of it seems too expensive. We tried the calamari, fried artichokes, bruschetta, and roasted cauliflower - all spectacular. For dinner, I opted for the Fettuccine Pistachio and it was delicious, plenty to take home. Paired with a few cocktails. We all left full and happy. Our server was very attentive and additional staff checked on us throughout our visit as well. Looking forward to going back soon and trying more! read more
