Savannah Chopped Salad and Veggie Spud.

I like this McAlister's. Food: Obviously, the menu is nearly the same as you would fine at any other, but they execute well. Whether Grilled Chicken Club Sandwich, Savannah Chopped Salad, or Black Angus Roast Beef Giant Spud (I'll echo the GIANT part), I like it all. Gluten-free options for Therese H. is a great thing, too. Staff: I've ordered from the app, and the order is always ready, correct, and on time. I've been there maybe a half-dozen times, and always get a friendly greeting as I open the door. Once, a staff member opened the door for me. Sure, you can give staff training about this sort of thing. But to execute consistently is impressive. Site: I like the seating area, and think they've made good use of their location in a relatively new business development, with a nicely shaded outdoor seating area protected from the elements. Thanks, McAlister's.

Crispy jalapeños turkey sandwich

I normally try to stay away from chains when I review a business. This review is about a sandwich, not the establishment. There is a new sandwich on the menu that if they take it off, I will hesitate to go back. What I'm talking about is the crispy jalapeño turkey sandwich. Do you remember being a kid in the summer and putting chips on your bologna sandwich? Well this is the equivalent. OMG yall. The flavor. Texture. Volume of meat and did I mention flavor? Why are you still reading this. Run and get one.

Roast beef spud and the club sandwich

McAllister's is always a good choice if you're in the mood for a sandwich. In particular, I'm a fan of their spuds: massive baked potatoes loaded up with good stuff. The portions are fairly large (especially the spuds) and everything comes out quickly. The menu is huge so there really is something for everyone, and so far I've enjoyed everything I've tried. Our location is always busy but there are plenty of tables and everything is kept clean.

I absolutely love McAlister's!!! I will advice not to go on a Saturday afternoon around lunch time. I went to the drive thru and it took 30 mins for me to get my food. I ordered a sweet tea and their Southwest chicken & avacodo salad. So delicious!!!!

Roast beef Reuben w sauerkraut
Ethel C.

Really clean tasting Reuben, roast beef was not overly salty at all, and good helping of sauerkraut. Would not recommend the veggie wrap. It was just a wrap of raw veggies like cucumber and tomatoes and lettuce..some roasted bell peppers, and thousand island ish sauce. No extra preparation, no thought... Service is really fast and friendly!

What we ordered and payed for (mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce in a deep dish pizza crust)..............

Staff change and it is not as friendly as it was. Not sure I'll renew my tea pass. Makes me sad!

Overpriced for what you get. I won't be going back! $16 for a cup of soup and half a sandwich. Shameful!

It was so fresh and good. The portions are large so you get your money's worth. I ate here two days in a row.

This was my first and possibly last experience. I visited on February 18, 2026 around 5:30pm. I…read moreordered the Baja Chicken and Ultimate Turkey club. I was not impressed. The Baja chicken just didn't taste great to me. It c came with bbq sauce and cheddar cheese. The ultimate Turkey was messy with too much mayo and fake bacon bits. Where's the real bacon like Jimmy John's and Jersey Mike's? This was a lose lose for almost $20. The guy who made the sandwiches was pleasant. The guy who rang up my order needs a little help with customer service. If someone hands you money, don't lay their change on the counter and tell them there's your change. FYI, I didn't finish eating either sandwich

I've always loved a good or even halfway decent (?) sub sandwich, especially from Quiznos. But…read morerecently I've noticed a severe decline in both quality of food and the customer service at the Edwardsville location. Went in for two sandwiches for myself and my partner on 9/5 around 7:30 pm, and we are strictly vegetarian diets. Now, I understand that it is ultimately up to the consumer to ensure that their food meets their dietary restrictions. However, two things may be true at once, so it is also true that there could definitely be more closely followed protections/procedures against cross contamination. Especially the kind of cross contamination that would be very easy to prevent, like something as simple as changing your gloves/knife. Anyway. I ordered two sandwiches, and specified right away that these will both be "all vegetarian, please." The girl making the orders just stared at me and said "ok." Not even after my partner said "we have a meat allergy," did this girl think twice about changing her gloves or the cuttingboard. After she set the base for 2 veggie guacamole sandwiches, and put them in the toaster, it only continued to get worse. The boy who took the sandwiches out of the oven to finish them off seemed possibly brand new. He had not changed his gloves either, and the sandwiches right before ours were packed with meats. I requested that he change out the knife because we are vegetarian. He seemed confused and lost at my request, and had no sense of urgency whatsoever in going to grab a new knife. After he got rid of the dirty knife and grabbed a new one, he began right away folding our sandwiches up. I asked him about the lettuce, tomato, guac, etc. that are supposed to be toppings..? And the blank stare I got back was enough indication to me that this employee had zero clue what is listed on the menu. After looking around for the other employee, who was busy helping another customer and unable to assist him, the boy began to "take a guess" and started trying to put guacamole on the sandwiches, but the guac bottle was dripping liquid onto the sandwiches... At this point we said "nevermind, it's okay we changed our minds" and walked out. Where is the manager?! Never going back, and neither should you. Would give 0/5 stars if I could.

I love this store. It is so worth the drive from my home in Godfrey…read more The produce department, just blows my mind. The variety and freshness of all the vegetables and fruits is huge. I can find unique items that you do not see at other grocers. I am wanting to eat healthier this year and this department is helping me achieve that goal. Another department that I enjoy is the, Deli and Prepared Foods. I have ordered from the prepared foods department for many of my parties. It makes life so much easier and everyone loves the appetizers. The butcher/meat department is as impressive as the produce. Also, the Dierbergs label is just as good as a name brand and it helps you save money on your total bill. If you're a drinker, the liquor department is a mini liquor store located inside a grocery store. The variety of wine and beer is huge. If you over drink and do something stupid, you can use Dierbergs florist to help get yourself out of trouble. The staff on the floor are helpful when I cannot find what I am looking for and the cashiers are friendly and move the lines quickly. Reminder: The store is in Edwardsville, so take your own bags, otherwise you'll be paying 10¢ a bag.

"Stick to the knitting" is the phrase that comes to mind. I believe it's a chapter title in an old…read morebook by Peters & Waterman called "In Search of Excellence." It summarizes their advice to businesses that have diversified so much that they've diminished the value they once provided in their most basic services. Here's why the phrase comes to mind in reference to D-Edwardsville. Years ago when it opened, it became my first-choice grocer, a moderately expensive but close-to-home alternative to specialty grocers in St. Louis. We could find nearly everything we really needed there, including gluten-free items. I was particularly happy that the fish counter offered fresh and previously frozen items that were as good as those I picked up 30 - 40 miles away. In recent months, I've been less enthused to shop at D-Edwardsville. Whereas the traffic flow of the east end used to draw attention of the shopper toward produce, deli, fish, and meat, now attention is drawn just as much toward the prominent placement of an expanded and generally high-priced wine-liquor section. The produce selection rarely seems as good as Schnuck's or Walmart. And the fish counter that I used to love is now a place I avoid, especially after some bad fish purchased during the yearend holidays. So bad that citrus juice and even alcohol rinse (with sake) could not save it. I imagine Edwardsville grocery competition is stiff these days, and D has a difficult challenge retaining market share and making a profit. I sympathize with the dilemma, but from my perspective, more alcohol or a phone app with coupons won't make much of a difference. In my opinion, flawed as it may be, I'll be muttering quietly as I roll my cart out the door, "Stick to the knitting.

As Mother of the Bride, I had MANY special requests and Karol & Bill were able to accommodate every single one. Not an easy task as I am a meticulous person. Karol was very helpful in the planning stages from selecting the hors d'oeuvres for the cocktail hour to selecting our menu and coordinating the timeline at the wedding. She was there every step of the way making sure everyone walked down the aisle at the appropriate time. We had a lovely selection of hors d'oeuvres that were fantastic and the entire meal was absolutely DELICIOUS! The cake was beautiful and yummy and looked exactly like the photo (which never happens). THANKS KAROL! Both rooms were set up with great care and the effect was everything I could have hoped for. During the reception, Bill was always on hand to make sure every detail was running smoothly and IT DID! Everything was served on time and the guests raved about the food and the atmosphere of the entire wedding! We were able to leave the reception clean up in the hands of the staff which was a perfect ending to a PERFECT DAY! 5 stars isn't nearly enough!!!! Thank you Karol and Bill for everything! Maybe we will see you again for our 40th wedding anniversary in a few years!!
