I got brisket, absolutely tasteless but very tender and sauce was great. Wife got pulled pork and said it was good. Could have been a five star but all sides were icebox cold. Service was great. Lovely old style restaurant, kind of a biker friendly feel. No senior or military discount except Tuesday. Tried a rib and our next visit will definitely be just ribs. read more

My buddy and I travel sometimes up to an hour to find an interesting café, barbecue joint, burger joint or sometimes a taco stand next-door to a gas station. Triple R is Ben's favorite. This was my third visit to this restaurant, and I've ordered the ribs every time. The first two visits were great--the ribs were flavorful and well-cooked. On this third visit, however, the ribs were mushy, almost like they had been steamed, and lacked flavor. Very disappointing. read more

We went there on a Saturday late afternoon and really enjoyed our dinner. We both had sliced beef sandwiches with a generous portion of beef and it was surprisingly moist. Absolutely sensational place. While we live in Dallas County and have family near Whitewright, TX I would consider going this far for great BBQ. Okra worth writing home about, great coleslaw also. I had a brisket plate the rest of the family chowed down on the brisket sandwiches. Its been several days since Friday April 25, 2025 and we are still talking about what a great meal we had. I have driven by this place a bunch of times and always said I was going to stop. My wife and I were on 69 last week and decided to give it a try. Why did I wait so long? The brisket was outstanding. Moist but not fatty, and very flavorful. And some of the best sausage I have ever tasted. Beans were excellent and so was the potato salad. They gave us so much food that we had to take some with us. Honestly, this was some of the best BBQ I have ever had, and I eat BBQ all over Texas and OK. My wife said the same thing. Prices are right where they should be. The staff was very nice and outgoing. Great bbq, friendly staff and very clean restaurant. We both had brisket plate with sides. The brisket was moist and tender. You can add either mild or spicy sauce. It's a very clean place and nicely decorated. Food is great and price is about the same as any other BBQ joint. Please make sure your staff is knowledgeable about dairy in any of your sides and cobblers. "I'm not sure, I don't think it has any milk" is not good enough response to a person with allergies. 8) read more

Driving up to Oklahoma and was super hungry and this was on the path up Super glad we stopped in Had turkey brisket and ribs with the baked potato as my side Shared the plate with my boyfriend We were stuffed and couldn't even finish it all The bbq sauce was delicious I mixed the spicy with the regular and it was perfect! Came across this back road BBQ place when riding our Harley. Some of the best pulled pork I have ever had. Get the spicy sauce. Everything made in house except the desserts. I loved how one of your sides can be French fries was cool. One concern is during COVID the staff were not wearing masks, but expected to some degree in a small town. Will eat here again. read more

Ok, stopped by here yesterday to try this place that was recommended to me. The guy at register made some cute quirky dad jokes while the lady asked me what type of meat. I picked brisket and sausage. I was looking for a mash potato and she said they had a potato casserole and so I went with that and BBQ beans. I told the guy it was my first time and he said that I would be back. I found that very confident and the lady said they'd been in business for 14yrs and knew I would. I congratulated them. Got the meal home, and my word, was it tasty. The casserole tasted like some down-home amazing Texas grandma cooking. Like a recipe that may have been passed down for generations. I still can't put my finger on the seasonings but it was rich and wonderful. I'd go there just for that. The smoke sausage was the perfect amount of salt, fat and sweetness from the smokey hickory flavoring from what I gather is a perfectly smoke meat and the brisket was super lean and flakey!!! Did you ever miss your turn while traveling from town to town and just figure forge ahead, Smokey and the Bear style, because "what's behind you is not important"? That happened to me. Today. And I like this because I get a chance to eat at some of the hole-in-the-wall BBQ joints that build strong bodies twelve ways and keep America the Home of the Free! So, today it happened for me in some town I had to look up on my map app and see where GPS said I was. I was in the suburbs of the thriving metropolis of White . . . something, Texas. I was cruising along with a grumbly tummy when what did I spy with my little eye? Triple R Barbeque! I did a quick U and pulled up in the gravel and mud parking lot. A red steel building greeted me. A faint waft of greasy BBQ smoke drifted around. So far, so good. Inside its all Texas BBQ - signs, wood walls, a tv quietly on with the news and sports. A cafeteria style setup puts you in front of a chopping block chock full of brisket, ribs, and other delights. The friendly BBQ monger stands ready with his knife to slash your chosen din din off the steaming hot meat. Mmmm. The best deal is go on Wednesday and have the rib plate special. Half a slab of absolutely fall off the bone pork ribs. Yummy sauce. Pick your own veggies. Fresh roll. TEN BUCKS!! Such a deal! The beans were good. Cole slaw typical chopped slaw that BBQ restaurants serve but shouldn't. The ribs were a real surprise and really delicious! The next time I get lost up north of Dallas and south of Sherman I will stop for more pork on a stick from Triple R Barbeque. In fact, I may have to U turn again - now - for second dinner! We are on a journey from Florida to Seattle. This establishment served us our best meal by far!! We had ribs and brisket, both were tender, perfectly cooked and delicious. The sides were also very good with many to pick from. If you are any place near Whitewright Texas, it will be well worth your time to go out of your way to eat here. We love to take new routes when returning home on long drives. That was how we found Triple R (with the help of YELP) on Highway 69 in Whitewright, TX. After a week in Florida eating seafood, and a drive through Louisiana with it's Cajun dishes, the sight of this barbecue restaurant was more than welcoming. The food is presented buffet-style, and you won't believe the number of sides available. I'm just going to tell you that EVERYTHING we ordered was delicious, right down to the iced tea. At our table, there was an array of pulled pork, brisket, barbecue beans, green beans, mac and cheese, baked potato casserole, and cheesy potatoes. For dessert, there was banana pudding on the buffet, and pie and cobbler offered on the menu. There's a sign on a window, "You bring 'em, we'll smoke 'em." And, it's true. There is a price per ounce for smoking the meat that you bring to them. What a great place to eat! read more

Have I found the perfect BBQ place??? I moved to Texas back in 2009 and have been in search for a great BBQ place ever since. I've found a few good places and some not so good. I happened on to Triple R by accident. It was the best accident I could have ever had. Their meats were cooked perfectly. It was not too smoky and not too dry. I always say a good BBQ should not need extra sauce and sure enough theirs did not. I got the 3 meat platter of Sausage, Pork Ribs, and Sliced Brisket. Everything was great and the cook was very friendly and nice. The Pecan pie was great and the home made whipped cream was the perfect topping. This place is about an hour from me, but you can believe I will be going there regularly on weekends. It was very smoky in the restaurant and not well ventilated. Personally I didn't mind, but I could definitely see how it could bother others. Also, some outdoor seating would be great. I like to sit outside and enjoy my meals. For me these were not reasons enough to minus any stars. The food was great and they deserve the recognition. read more
