    Serpentine Belt...
    Lindsay G.

Well they got done with the work on my Tundra faster than I expected, Which is awesome, however, I picked it up at about 1130am drove it to work and parked it.. That evening I left town to head to Rockaway Beach for the weekend. Got over half way there and my Serpentine Belt shredded. I don't know how they didn't catch the condition of the belt while working on my truck. Had to sit on the side of 101 and wait over an hour for help and $60 for a part.... not sure I'll be going back anytime soon unless they make this right.

    My ride!

I got better service than I've ever received anywhere! I had gotten stuck over night in Salem due to car issues and had found him in Yelp the next morning. I did have to call many times, but Doc is a husband and wife operation, so they are busy. However, he called me back and fit me into his schedule, problem solved my bent hood and pushed-in front of my car, and gave me super helpful advice on topping the oil in my very old car. My dad had followed me out to Doc's garage because I wasn't sure my car would make it, and we listened to what Doc was telling me. Dad said I had received such great service and was fortunate to have such an experienced mechanic take the time to explain what was going on with my car. I'm a little embarrassed to say, I didn't know that many old cars need to be topped with oil between the 3,000 miles mark. That explained the sound my car was making and how it felt driving. Though I was embarrassed, I never felt talked down to by Doc. (Ladies, take your car here!) The other problem with my car was that I had gotten into a fender bender on my way to Salem and was unable to unlatch my hood. We left Doc's for an hour and came back after receiving his call. Doc had somehow managed to smooth the hood and get it to unlatch and latch again. This was amazing because the problem wasn't just with my hood, but with the whole front of my car. It had been pushed in 3 or more inches pinching the radiator. What Doc charged for his work was so reasonable, I was dismayed. I would drive from Portland to Keizer to have Doc work on my car. He was great.

I was able to take my car in, in the morning, and have it done in a few hours. My daughter recently needed brakes on her VW Rabbit, and I took her car to Doc Brown's and had her brakes replaced. Again, the brakes were done quickly, and at a very reasonable price. If you're looking for an honest, dependable, and knowledgeable auto tech, this is the place to go. Just be aware that this isn't like a regular garage or dealer's waiting room. There's nowhere to sit and wait for your car, so you'll have to have someone pick you up and then take you back for your car when it's finished. But I'll take a little inconvenience for good, competent work and price anytime.

On the phone, our mechanic is honestly explaining to a customer that investing money into the repair is not a good mechanical choice. Better that he seek out another vehicle to purchase. Isn't this the type of mechanic one needs to have, instead of not saying anything? Other mechanics would just take the money, do the repair, and the customer would end up paying in the future for additional costly repairs. We're sticking with these mechanics. Thank you for having honesty and integrity. (5 months ago) They have been great in the past 2 years. They have been honest with us on what is necessary for repairs, personable, and have gone out of their way to help us. I would recommend this establishment.

I have been experiencing issues with my coolant this past week and was suggested to go see Abdel…read more I reached out and he is VERY prompt at corresponding with his clients. There was never a long wait which was very reassuring. I was told I could stop by anytime so that's what I did this morning (Saturday). I pulled in and thought I wasn't at the right spot but I was. It's easy to find but does not look like your typical automotive shop. I thought for sure I would be there for hours, I parked and walked up and then saw that it was definitely an auto motive shop with the car lifts. I was instantly greeted. Abdel came and looked at my car with me and y'all,...there was no problem. It's so crazy to me how upfront and honest he was. The cap just wasn't on the coolant reservoir tight enough causing it to evaporate. To say I felt relief when he tested the pressure of the coolant reservoir and the hold of the top with pressure applied would be an understatement. I hate car repairs they take forever and cost so much. I was in and out QUICK and was taken care of far better than any dealership / mechanic I've been to. I will for sure be back for all our car repairs (hopefully we have none. Haha). Abdel is honest, loyal, and as a petite blonde and the only female in eye sight for some time I felt safe around the three men working the whole time. I think the thing I appreciated the most is that Abdel never spoke down to me but walked me through all the tests and examination of the car itself. He knows what he's doing and educates those around as he's working and it's very nice the way he does it. Go see Abdel for all your car repairs but also I hope he doesn't get too much business so he still has time for my cars if needed. Lol.

I booked a diesel fuel filter change and trailer plug wiring. I booked it at the beginning of the week for a Thursday 11am appointment. I was told it would take a few hours. I had a trip that I had planned with a Friday departure and would need to pull a trailer. I dropped the truck off at 9am on Thursday thinking getting it there early might help. At 3pm I called to check on how it was going. I was told that the work hadn't been completed but they would do their best to have it done by their close at 5pm. At 4pm I drove by and the truck was still sitting where I dropped it off. It was obvious that I'd have to triage the situation with only 1 hour left in the day so I told them to prioritize the plug wiring... they said ok. At 4:30pm, I see they have the truck in the bay, but they are working under the hood. So, I say, I really wanted you guys to priorities the trailer wiring unless you think you can get it all done by the time you close. I'm then told that they don't do trailer plug wiring and really don't do much diesel work either and that they didn't think my truck had a filter or maybe it had an inline one that someone had removed. They actually tried to convince me that my 7.3 liter Ford diesel didn't have a fuel filter. It took me a 5 second google search to figure out where the fuel filter sat... right on top of the middle of the engine, under a cover. If it was a snake, it would of bit them. OK, so they are not familiar with diesels. But, if they don't do work on diesels and don't do trailer plugs why book an appointment for the work. I could of found somewhere else. Even if they would of told me that when I dropped my truck off in the AM, I would of had some time to react to the debacle. I was left at 5pm on Thursday scrambling to find a capable shop to do the work on Friday morning. Why wait until 30 minutes before you close to drop this bomb on me? They literally acted like this was just the way it goes. Well... I guess it is at Point S in Keizer. And, that is also why I'm leaving this review. Unprofessional, incompetent, unconcerned with the customer's experience... take your pick. They all fit. So, here's my warning/advice to everyone who will listen... go ahead and buy your tires from Point S but take the time to find some other place to have your mechanical/electrical work done.
