Update: 1/21/2015 On Monday morning, a 4-man crew came to pull out our existing wood flooring. It didn't take them very long because our kitchen area is only slightly over 100 sq ft. By the afternoon, only Michael and Keola stayed to mud the area, install the rigid backing (because we have wood foundation) and lay out the tile configuration. Then, on Tuesday, both Michael and Keola mud, set the tiles and made the necessary tile cuts to fit into the configuration. This was an all-day affair! Their foreman, Rudy, stopped by several times to check on their work, consistently asked for our input regarding the layout, baseboards and finishes and assured us that they are open to fielding any concerns that we might have. Michael demonstrated the hardness of the tile that we had selected because we were concerned about the upcoming delivery and installation of our new range and refrigerator/freezer. The tile is an Italian porcelain that has an etched texture on it. Michael took his matte knife and firmly scraped it across the surface when sparks flew and the tip of his blade melted from the friction. The tile was unmarred! In fact, the tile is so hard that when they were cutting some tiles, the blade of their portable lathe sort of bent so Rudy took some tiles back to their shop to cut with a more powerful machine. I gotta give it up to both young men who tirelessly worked on their knees and bent their backs! Yow, makes my old body ache just thinking about it! On the third and final day, Michael and Keola returned to complete setting the remaining floor tiles and the baseboards. They were so exacting and the surface is smooth enough to not catch your hosiery or socks. We admired their high quality workmanship while they set about cleaning up their tools. They even wiped/mopped down our stairwell and foyer after removing their drop cloths! We're VERY happy, er, ecstatic with the fair pricing, workmanship and value that the new flooring will give to our home.

Three years now and still very satisfied, also now having another tile job done too small for Trinity I have an appreciation for Trinity's attention to detail. This new tile job had many minor level and alignment issues not found with Trinity.

Trinity did a fantastic job for us. We had a unique vision of how we wanted our stairs, and they delivered spot-on. It wasn't an easy job...lots of cutting...but it turned out better than we could have expected. They were also very accommodating to our specifications and exceedingly professional. I HIGHLY recommend Trinity for any tile work you need.

Outstanding service from start to finish. The price was the lowest out of three bids. Mike, the estimator, answered all our questions promptly. Kudos especially to Austin for his professionalism and expertise during installation; it really felt like we were in capable hands. The design was handled in a way to complete the job while making efficient use of our supply of tiles - much more leftover than expected. Very punctual; showed up on time everyday over the three day job. Jason, the owner, also called at the end of the job to make sure everything went ok. Thank you so much for a job well done! We would definitely use Trinity Tile again for future tiling work.

    Great renovation!

Spencer, from Kurihara Contracting, was different. He got back to us and quickly and scheduled a visit. Upon meeting him, we felt very at ease and comfortable. He was very knowledgable and seemed to be a straight shooter (I wanted some storage over the toilet and he straight up told me that would be weird because it would block the bathroom window). After listening to what we were thinking, he came up with a plan and gave us an estimate. We didn't get any renderings (not sure if bathroom renovations get those?) but we knew he knew what he was doing, so it wasn't really an issue - Mom and I were trusting he and his team's professionalism and it worked! Did we have any idea of the cost of a bathroom renovation? No. Was it more than I imagined it to be? Honestly, yes. But after the job was done, did I think it was worth it? ABSOLUTELY YES. The job Kurihara Contracting did with our master bathroom was AWESOME. And I think with this company, you get what you pay for - The professionalism, consideration, final product...chef's kiss! Our bathroom looks so much larger and brighter! We just love it. We were also able to upgrade to a toilet we wanted (something really important to my mom ;D). Thank you, Spencer and Crew for our bathroom transformation! My hope is that we save up money to do more renovations and we can use your services! Hopefully by that time, we won't have to deal with government imposed tariffs on imported materials!

FIVE STAR rating to Jeff, Keith and the crew at Hawaii Home Remodel!…read more I contacted HHR at the end of December to receive an estimate. Instantly, I heard back from Keith to schedule a home visit. In the first week of January, Keith came by to do a look through. He was very kind and professional. Keith emailed my estimate within several days. Our bathroom remodel was scheduled to take 14 days, but it was completed within 9 days, which was good for our family considering we only have one bathroom. From initial contact throughout the project Jeff, HHR Supervisor, kept open communication with me every day. He kept me afloat on what they found, what needed to be done, what my options were. Jeff and his team were very detailed and the level of work they did was beyond superb. I'd like to send my all my aloha and much mahalo to Keith, Jeff and their Hawaii Home Remodel crew for their expertise and hard work over the past 9 days. You brought our outdated bathroom up to 2026. My COASTAL MODERN bathroom dreams have come true! P.S. so, when's our next project??!?! : ) HIGHLY RECOMMEND Liz Martin & Family

However since that visit, the experience has been disappointing. Despite multiple follow up messages and calls, we have not received the promised quote or ANY response at all. While I understand contractors may be busy, a simple update or message stating they couldn't take the job would be preferred over being ghosted. I was hoping to work with a licensed professional, but the lack of basic communication makes it difficult to recommend their services. I hope they can improve their follow up process for future customers.

TLDR: These people are FANTASTIC at what they do, and trust them to get the work done…read more My family and I have been thinking of a kitchen renovation for several years but were hesitant due to the scale and potential cost of a project like this. Beyond Builders and their staff were communicative and understanding from start to finish! In our initial meetings with Josh and Tomoko, they carefully listened to our desired outcomes and focused on staying within a set budget we were comfortable with (cuz economy's tough y'know?). Once the contract was signed, 3D designs were promptly drafted which gave us several options to choose from, they guided us through obtaining required items for the material list, and once everything was ready a start date was set. They were very patient with us, we never felt rushed, and our desired outcomes were always prioritized. Junior and Ming were the leads on the renovation portion, and MAN do they work efficiently! They said it would take two weeks, and they finished in two weeks. One thing I appreciate about their crew was the communication on progress and collaborative questions. For example, before installing handles on the cabinets they would ask beforehand how we'd like them placed. They always made sure it was being made the way we wanted. At the end of the renovation, the kitchen felt like something out of a movie set. As you can tell in the attached pictures, the before pictures (green, walled) and after pictures (open, white countertop) is night and day. They were doing such a good job that I had to request a change order to install a new vanity in our bathroom to replace the old one haha. All in all, Beyond Builders was a pleasure to work with. Our family is so happy with the renovation and we already plan to hit them up for future projects (when we have the funds). Big shout out to Josh, Tomoko, Junior, Ming and their crew! Five years ago, my wife and I relocated from a large two-story house in Newtown Estates in Aiea,…read morewhich was our home for 46 years. We raised three children who are now adults and owning their own houses and raising their own families. Since we were then in our late 70s, like many retirees in our same situation, we struggled to keep up with the continued care and maintenance of a large property and decided to down-size to a smaller, one-story, house in Mililani Mauka where two of our grown children already live. Unfortunately, moving into a 20-year-old house does not come without its share of needed improvements and upgrades. However, it was the right fit for us with an existing photo-voltaic system, central air conditioning and a yard and garden of manageable size. Of immediate electrical needs were installation of additional electrical wall sockets and external security lights. Amongst the many electrical companies, and through word-of-mouth, we chose Royal Hawaiian Builders. Bronson Biven did the electrical work effectively and efficiently, so much so that we'd refer his work/company to anyone who were in need of the work that his company does. Several years later, like many other homeowners who were experiencing sharp increases in our monthly electric bill (with ours increasing from $26 to over $200). After three consecutive months at this exceedingly high rate, we contacted Bronson Biven again from Royal Hawaiian Builders for help. He did a full assessment, including researching the age and company that installed the photo-voltaic system. After a thorough evaluation of our 25-panel system, it was determined too old to set up a capability to monitor individual panel-performance using an iPhone app. Lastly, Bronson determined that our panels were in need of cleaning, which he performed as well, all in one day and at a very reasonable price. Within two months, our electric bill went back to what it was. High quality work, a fair price, and a high degree of professionalism are ingredients for a successful company. Royal Hawaiian Builders will be my go-to contractor for our future needs! I highly recommend them! Ambrosio I.

The last two times (over years) Blaine has been the one to assist me. Each time he listened to the situation intently, decided best course of action, and quickly provided solution. And the last time I thought the replacement remote was faulty... I telephoned them while driving back to exchange when associate "kindly" mentioned if it was a remote problem they would absolutely replace it BUT they would also make sure it wasn't an issue with the wiring or fan itself. Oops... I didn't consider that possibility. Turned my car around, right after picking up some onolicious oxtail soup across the street from them. :-) After arriving home, reprogrammed my other remote to see if same issue and bingo! ... light on fan still not turning off with remote. Easy workaround... just use wall switch. Thank you Pacific Fans for your always great service! Thank you also for your kindness in talking to me, making sure I felt like a valued customer, not like an idiot for not figuring out the secondary issue (the first remote was still faulty and needed to be replaced !). You've got my future business and referrals to friends and family!
