They were so good the first time, I had to come back for more. Both times I've been here the service was great. Sat at the bar and both bartenders very attentive and my drinks were made perfect. My fish was crispy, tender, cooked perfect. The atmosphere is nice and chill. Bathroom was clean. Definitely a go to spot for a late night food and drinks. We have gone down to this location once before, and everything was very good with the food and service but this time we were a little disappointed. The service was really off. Had to wait for a drink refills.. we both started off with a cup of clam chowder in a cup of gumbo. Both came out about room temperature, which was very concerning to me and I said something to the waitress that they should check the holding temperature for the soups. She said she would ask about it, but never came back and give us an answer. Both though we're very tasty the clam chowder comes with bacon and chopped green onions in it, which gives it a great flavor. The gumbo was good too not our favorite, but still tasty and spicy. I got the barbecue pork sliders, which I had once before and was craving for. My wife got the jumbo fried shrimp platter. For $20 I was expecting larger pieces of shrimp than what was served, but overall tastiness of the breading was very good. The french fries which are caught in an old bay seasoning, very addicting. We will go back again to try some more items. Hopefully the service gets a little better. read more

Sat at the bar so no wait for a table. Bar tender Crystal was attentive, friendly and professional. I had wedge salad and added pesto chicken. Chicken was flavorful and tender. Lots of blue cheese, tomatos and bacon. Delicious. I would order it again. Husband had the Southwest Chicken Caesar salad. He loved it and ate the whole thing. read more

We walked into Trident IV for a late Friday lunch after all of our plans had just fallen apart. The place was packed and I thought, oh man, will we ever get to eat today. However, we were greeted immediately and pointed to a table. Our server came by after a few seconds and took our drink order. Then almost immediately returned with our drinks just the way we like them. We gave her our lunch order. Wifey asking for the fish and chips and my order for the green chili turkey melt sandwich with some customizations. It was easy because those are our regular favorites at the Trident so why not. Again, I don't think I blinked more than once or twice and here she was with the food just the way we asked. Did I mention the place was just packed but here was our food. Wifey was really happy with her fish. And I have to say, that my sandwich was easily the best one of these I've had at any of the various locations around Tucson. I especially liked that there was a nice sized piece of green chili pepper in it and that I could actually taste it. The rest of the sandwich just filled in all the flavors nicely. The french fries were also tasty with a nice spice sprinkled on them. I didn't get what it was but I really liked it along with a perfect serving of catsup included. All in all the service was great, fast and friendly and the food was good too. I hope this wasn't an isolated incident and hoping it will be this way on our next trip. I ordered the 3 piece fish and chips, and it's was terrible. The fish was total rubber and overcooked. It was a shame because the fish was not fishy at all and would have been excellent if it had been fried properly. The French fries were completely Soggy, and the coal slaw was totally bland, lacking any seasoning. I expect good food for a $20 plate. Service was good and friendly while picking up my food. It took me a few hours to decide weather to leave a review or not but I was pretty upset about the food and service we received last night. Arrived about 7:30pm, got a table right away and the hostess had to wipe down the table. (Not a big deal). Waited approximately 15 minutes before anyone took our drink order then we waited for another 10 minutes for our drinks. Once our order was finally taken, it took forever to get our food. I ordered the Trident Burger with bacon and a bowl of the clam chowder. My wife ordered a salad and a cup of clam chowder (if it was the normal thick consistency). I could tell that my Burger had been sitting under the heat lamp for quite a while, dry and flavorless. The Clam chowder was barely Luke warm. (Sent it back with a different waitress because ours dissappeared). The salad was wilted and just looked gross. My wife decided on not having the clam chowder because it was too thin. The waitress never checked on us during our meal what so ever. We couldn't even find her most of the time. Normally we have had good service and food here but last night was awful and there wasn't that many people in there because the game was almost over so there is no excuse for this. I ate the burger because I am a diabetic and needed food but if I wasn't it would have been a different story. Your average sports bar. No root beer for my own personal records . They have some really yummy sweet potato fries but the burgers are just way too big, the kind that you need to be able to unhinge your jaw to enjoy. Made the experience messy and not as enjoyable as most of the toppings fell out with every bite. We were out shopping and craving some seafood, and this place had a decent selection and was close by. Our server was Kayleigh(sp) and she was absolutely amazing and friendly, and helpful. I got the Captains Platter, and my husband got the Wedge Salad with a NY strip. Everything was wonderfully fresh, perfectly prepared and complimented with delicious sauces and dressing. It was a little loud, but it was a sports bar on a weekend afternoon with multiple TV views from every seat so it's as expected. Cooked to a dark brown and tiny pieces of clams inside. Very disappointing. If I had wanted deep fried breading I would of asked for it. Don't think I'll be going back. The manager was aggressive and full of excuses. He offered no solution. HORRIBLE customer service and service recovery. Will not be back. So, I never order chicken tenders at restaurants. I always opt for bone in wings because I worry that tenders will be dry. Well let me tell you.... the tenders here are amazing! My brother and his family took my mother and I for dinner. We were able to get a reserved table. Our waitress was awesome and very attentive. Very good beer selection. I ordered the Cubano sandwich. My mother ordered a steak medium. it was done perfectly. It was a pleasure to see her devour the steak. Of course she still had to take some home for the dog. For a place called Trident Grill, I would have expected more seafood. Instead they're closer to an Ale House type of place. Nice vibe and food. read more

The service sucked. It took us 20 minutes to even get acknowledged. The drinks took 25 minutes!! We got 2 beers and 2 Dr peppers. And it took us 15 minutes to get out food. I previously wrote a review ~ 3 years ago. We stopped in yesterday afternoon after I left "my chemo" center to sort of celebrate my "anniversary" (ate there a year ago prior to starting chemo) - I just have to write another review reinforcing my previous review - the food and service are still excellent and as east coast Chesapeake Bay natives of Virginia and so many of Trident Grill's food choices are a taste of home, but I personally love many of the other choices. My husband loves the food, but dislikes the loud sports bar atmosphere - but afternoons are perfect for us before the sports bar crowd and after work crowd arrives - I can't stress enough how perfect our food was yesterday - besides ordering one of my favorites (fish tacos on excellent local Sonoran style thin flour tortillas) I ordered the wedge salad and oh my goodness it was epic and huge! Very glad to see the staff maintaining good mask safety. The Paleo Bowl is filling and satisfying and delicious. Definitely something to go back for. I normally don't like tomatoes, but however they cooked and seasoned them made them a fantastic compliment to the rest of the bowl. The chicken was well cooked and seasoned. The sweet potato was just right. The hard boiled egg added some hardiness and clean protein. The greens were fresh and crisp. It really was a delicious meal. My husband had the shrimp, and considering how quickly he cleaned his plate, I think it is safe to say.... they were also delicious! Wait staff was great throughout, even if we had have to wait a while to actually pay. It was busy. It's all good. I've been here before and the fish and chips were fabulous! I am not sure who the manager is, but he is the reason things come out so great. I'm sure there are days where things slip up and he isn't here to handle the issue. Tonight, I watched this man RUN from the office to assist the line cooks. Next thing you know, my steak came out perfect. If I was a stickler, I would say it took too long to come out. Went mainly to catch the World Series game, but they had fish tacos on special so we tried them. YUM!!! Great portions with only 2 tacos and very tasty! Price $7 was great! We have dined at this Trident location (Ina/Shannon) many times. Usually the food is decent, but on a few occasions I have sent back the beef sliders because the cooks have difficulty with "medium-well" and are usually quite rare. The salads are not as good as they should be. The lettuce is often times a mix of good lettuce and pieces that are in very poor shape. Today the salad was sent back to be re-done because the lettuce quality was poor. The result was the "kitchen manager", Cameron, came to our table and told us that the salad was as good as it was going to get and we should eat at Grumpy's Grill instead. Amazing arrogance and horrible customer service on the part of Cameron. If Cameron indeed is the kitchen manager, that restaurant is in big trouble. He not only is rude to customers, but telling a customer to eat elsewhere is amazingly ignorant. He clearly can't take the heat and needs to find other employment where people skills are not important. read more

Went to Trident Restaurant on Ina & Shannon in Tucson, AZ. We watched Arizona win their basketball game. Pretty good crowd there for that. The food was absolutely high quality and hot: Fish and Chips(Deep Fried Cod), French Fries and Coleslaw. We had a sweet tooth and ordered a cookie? OMG. It was the size of a small pizza with Macadamia nuts served in a circular pan...chocolate swirled vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. We were watching the game and had no awareness of calories therefore there were none..... Great service. PJ Lots to choose from from on their big menu. We will be back. read more

I generally do not leave negative reviews unless the venue/service/whatever really does something to tick me off. As is the case for Trident IV. The hubby and I chose this place for an impromptu date night. Our experience at this sub-par sports bar immediately soured our evening. We were seated quickly by the server, wearing a crop top to show off her midriff. I would expect a get up like that at Hooters.... We asked about Happy Hour and she gave us the Happy Hour menus. It says ALL craft beer and cocktails were a $1 off. So hubs orders his customary IPA and she asks if he wants 16 or 25 ounce - of course he goes for 25 ounces. I get the Tucson Tap Water. She thanks us and goes to put in our order. So we are trying to talk and we are in the row of booths near the kitchen. Don't mind the clanking of dishes and all that, but we could certainly hear the shouts and literally WHOOPING from the kitchen staff. I mean, I get it- it's noisier by the kitchen and I'm not leaving a negative review over that but OVERALL there was sound bouncing all over the restaurant. Maybe invest some type acoustic sound panels to reduce the echo. We get the drinks timely. Hubs enjoyed his beer, my cocktail was just okay. Meh. Kinda too sweet. We peeked at the menu - whoa. Kinda pricey for a meh sports bar. $13 burgers? Famous Sams is like $2 less and Noble Hops is $1 less. Anyway I wasn't digging the vibe of place at all so we passed on dinner. So here comes the cherry part. The server brings us the check and we notice there are NO happy hour discounts applied. Full price for both. Hubs asks about it and she told us that his beer wasn't included since it was 25 ounce size and since mine was a "signature cocktail " it also wasn't priced for happy hour. Hubby pulls out the happy hour menu and points out "ALL CRAFT BEER" and NOWHERE does it mention the exclusion of 25 ounces. Granted, the "well cocktail" thing is clearly in the menu BUT SHE DID NOT CLARIFY ANY OF THIS WHEN WE ORDERED. My husband pointed that out and she offered up that FAKE "Sorry about that". You know the kind of fake apology people say when they don't care. She didn't offer to correct it. Nothing. Just super shallow and not recognizing an opportunity to provide good customer service. We are not argumentative people. We didn't demand for the manager, it was only a couple of dollars... it is just the DECEIT of their menu, and really NOT CARING about your customers. I was fuming - I didn't want to leave her a tip at all, since it would equal the cost of our lost discount. My husband who is slow to anger agreed it was really crappy service but convinced me that since she did bring us the drinks (timely) that alone is worth a buck. So lucky for her she earned $1 because he is a good man. It only takes one incident to lose a potential loyal customer and Trident blew it for us. We will not be back. Ever. read more

Visited 4/30/23 for a late lunch. Ordered a Trident burger (medium) with Trident potatoes. Received a VERY rare burger (ketchup on the plate) with seasoned fries. Sent both back since neither were what we ordered. When our burger was returned, it came well done and without ketchup so we waited (while of burger got cold) for the potatoes, which fortunately did come with ketchup. Would have ordered a second beer, but never got the chance as our server didn't provide me the opportunity. So tired of poor service and food not prepared properly yet 20%+ tips are expected on top of inflated costs. As a side note: Please fix the ice/soda machine so your customers don't have to listen to your servers beat on it to get the ice out of the shoot. Very disruptive. read more

My hubby was raving about their Salmon and Rice. So he took me there to check out the place- had the blue cheese mushroom burger medium and a steak with potatoes and asparagus. No drinks. Service was fast and friendly- for a Tuesday afternoon they were pretty busy- that is a reflection of the good food and clean environment. We liked everything we ate. Constructive criticism: the menu has too many items on it - the chef is clearly amazing and can cook a wide range of items but the menu is not cohesive with burgers and Asian food as well as pasta and Italian dishes.
