Just had an average meal with my family of 4. The atmosphere was nice, great vibe. Ordered Cesar's Salad (had a hair in it), a burger with chips (chips were like cardboard, flavorless), potato soup (what I imagine is served in prison) and roasted sweet potatoes (more like diced sweet potatoes with an awful taste, inedible). When we expressed our disdain for the meal she couldn't give two sh*ts about our opinions. We payed 77 (a Prosecco and NA Beer added) which would have given us more joy being spent on a vasectomy in a Mexican alley than here. We told our hotel a block away to not recommend. read more

Tribeca is a grand enough spot to pop into for some lunch on a lazy Saturday. Like its namesake in New York, it's popular among the young local upper-crust but the atmosphere is actually pleasant rather than posh. It's airy and bright with framed black and white pics lining the white walls. The menu is fairly eclectic and casual featuring salads, omelettes, burgers, noodles, sandwiches - very similar to its sister-restaurant, Canal Bank Cafe. Not much to choose from for a hungry veggie though I'm afraid. Can't make comment on the lauded chicken wings, other than to say they're fairly widely lauded! There's a lot of fuss about Tribeca but it actually just offers a simple, enjoyable dining experience. Just don't expect fireworks and go for lunch rather than dinner! read more

Formerly known as The Pronto, Tribeca is as D6 as it gets. Which is strange because it's actually a very run of the mill, mid range restaurant. I had a very average penne arriabiatta once, yea it's a pretty unexciting dish anyway so would be nice if they'd made it a bit different. Tribeca's other claim to fame besides its New York theme is their chicken wings, which are almost on par with the legendary Elephant and Castle, some say better. It's certainly nicer to come to Ranelagh to have some rather than brave the Stag Night-a-thon that is Temple Bar. Besides the pasta and wings they have omelettes, burgers, chicken, steaks and salads. It's always packed so book in advance and don't forget your Leinster Jersey! read more

I've visited TriBeCa a few times mainly to grab a basket of their delicious chicken wings to help soak up the alcohol from the night before however this time I was determined to try something different. The place was brimming on an early Saturday evening and we popped down on an outside table to make the most of a gorgeous sunny Dublin day. I ordered the buttermilk chicken burger, whilst my boyfriend grabbed the cheddar and guacamole burger. The portion sizes were substantial and I must admit I did enjoy the burger buns but other than that I wasn't bowled over. The buttermilk chicken burger came with mango chutney, lime coleslaw and guacamole - I must admit when I bit into it, it tasted flavoursome but then the after taste in mouth confirmed that perhaps all these condiments shouldn't go together. The buttermilk chicken itself and the bun was nice but that was about it. My boyfriends burger was ok and not medium rare like he ordered it. The woman serving us was very friendly and helpful so that aided the experience. All in all I was pretty disappointed with my meal and my boyfriend with his, though the place is a must for chicken wings, I wasn't won over by their burgers. read more

A bit far away from the city centre there is a place called Tribeca where you can order chicken wings and chips and eat amply. The wings are small pieces with a nice sauce (not to spicy but tasty). The chips crunchy. My second dish was spaghetti with meatballs, the tomato sauce a bit "rude", the meatballs where ok, maybe a bit neutral and of course with coriander (you know: you love it or you hate it. In my case I can´t stand coriander), but anyway ok. My friends ordered hamburgers and where nice and tasty, maybe better option that the pasta. The wine selection is good, the service fast and reliable. And even for the small space of the venue not too noisy. They have children sits as well, perfect for a young family looking for a brunch at the weekend. read more

This place is loud, it's buzzing. You can barely hear yourself think. It's more suitable for larger groups than a romantic meal for two. Of course I had heard about the famous wings in TriBeCa and my expectations were high! Coming in at 14 euro they better be good! We shared a cobb salad and wings and fries. We first tucked into the massive salad, it was really good, not drowned in dressing either so it was nice and crunchy. Now, starting with the salad was a big mistake, as by the time we started on the wings they had cooled down and were tough as an old booth. Not a whole lot of sauce or meat on them either, they were not at all spicy. I like my wings big, juicy and extra spicy.....those were just not it. I only managed to eat a few of them so. I much more enjoyed the salad and the skinny fries. I saw a lot of burgers passing the table and they looked delicious. So I do think I will come back, I will just pass on the wings thank you very much. read more

Really good restaurant! I come here pretty often and always get the chicken wings! They're the best I've had, and were voted as the best in Ireland, (tied with Elephant & Castle, as they use the same recipe). Staff are always really nice and service is quite quick. Very suitable for young children and an overall great restaurant! I would advise that you book a reservation for any party over 3 as it can get quite busy, especially on the weekends. I would highly recommend the wings, but one complaint I would have about them is that the last two times I was there, the quality of the chicken seemed to be poorer than usual, but I'm sure this problem has either been resolved or will be resolved in the near future. read more

I don't know how I managed it, but I've never been to TriBeCa before. I guess I've just never had anyone say "You've got to go to TriBeCa!". Thankfully it was the choice of a family member on her birthday. There were 9 of us, we had a booking for 2pm and arrived on time. We did have to wait 15 mins to be seated but I could tell the staff were doing their best to move a lethargic party of 3 off the table we'd booked. Having been seated, our drinks order was taken by a young waiter. He was a friendly chap and when quizzed on the different dishes/pasta he knew his stuff which is great to see. I don't usually order pasta when I'm out. I find it's rarely much better than you could make at home yourself on a Saturday night but I ordered a pasta dish that had black olives, spicy chorizo, basil and parmesan. It was €15 so I was hoping for something tasty. The first mouthful I had took me back 10 years to a place that used to be in Blackrock called Ristorante Da Roberto, one of my favourite Italian restaurants of all time. It was heaven. I could only dream of putting something like this together. It tasted like a recipe that could only have been perfected over time/authentic I had a look at the desert menu and struggled to find something I didn't like! After (unsuccessfully) stopping by twice in the evening without reservation, I decided to plan ahead and booked a table for Saturday night a week in advance (everybody wishing to dine at Tribeca I recommend doing the same). This place in Ranelagh is apparently packed for brunch, lunch, and dinner - they must do something right then (and good for the owners to own such a gold mine). It's great for groups and couples - a bursting, busy restaurant, serving modern American and English food. Salads, Burgers, Pasta - you name it. You get good value for your money, the size of portions is just about right (tested an Asian Chicken Salad, 14.95 Euro, Italian Stallion Burger, 14.95 Euro, Chicken Wings, 12.95 Euro). With a lot of competition of good Burgers in Ranelagh, the Italian Stallion was decent - though I'd prefer Jo Burger just because their burgers are a bit more creative. The bar is well equipped, the staff friendly and quick - what else can you ask for. Just one thing - book in advance. read more

I don't really get the fuss. The food is pleasant enough but it's not spectacular, and it's quite dear for what you get. There's a lot better in Ranelagh. The main problem for me is the acoustics of the place- it's nearly always busy, (polite for overcrowded- cram those tables in!) and the really intense level of noise means that you have to shout to be heard even by the person sitting directly opposite you. I hadn't heard anything about this place before stopping in, so my experience was not dampened by overly high expectations. On Sunday afternoon the place was packed, so we counted ourselves luck to be seated at a cozy table by the window. Now, the inamorata with whom I was dining is a stunning lady. She is tall, beautiful, and the very embodiment of grace. Unfortunately, in our cozy little nook there was no room for grace. Removing her coat and she (gracefully?) crashed into an array of electrical switches. We heard one click, but had no way of knowing what she had turned on or off. Thus began the evening's entertainment. We couldn't find any evidence that our mystery switch had turned off any lights, so we took turns guessing what other devices it might have controlled. It wasn't until I finished my nachos (the appetizer that eats like a meal!) and we were readying to go that we discovered we had cut the patio's heaters. I was too embarrassed to apologize in person. Not really impressed by anything I had in TriBeCa. Service is nice, but the food just not that great. Having heard of the amazing chicken wings that's when I came here first, in that evening they were ok and just yesterday I came back for brunch, chicken wings still only ok. There are so many other places out there with better quality. The omelette we had was also just a bit boring taste wise even though I had great hopes as all the ingredients I love went into it. I found this place in a list of good places to have chicken wings. I do not regret going there. No way you can get a table on a Fri/Sat night without booking. The place is not big but it is tide and clean. Staff were attentive and quick. Now the food: it was really good, specially the chicken wings! It's been a few weeks since our visit and I am struggling to remember the food or experience I had. Overall impression was of decent food but little choice for vegetarians (yeah, sorry to be a pain guys but lots of other places around Dublin have realised that we are discerning customers too). Friends were also divided on their dishes, I think, though nobody was violently opposed to or in favour of it. Service was as unremarkable as the food, in that I don't remember much about it either; but that also means that it wasn't bad service; effective anyway. The place is quite loud (should I blame the restaurant or other customers?) and that made it difficult to hear the conversation across the table or at least unpleasant to have to strain to hear it. I wonder what the fuss is all about. I see other reviewers mentioned chicken wings but even when I didn't eat vegetarian I would not have got out of my way to eat bones covered in sticky spicy sauce! Each to their own, I suppose. TriBeCa had been on my to-do list for quite a while but I won't be in a hurry to re-visit it. This is a good stable, middle of the road place, with a big menu. It has a nice vibe, and is good for a crowd. It gets very busy on a Friday and Saturday night, so a reservation is recommended. The chicken wings are pretty tasty, and I can't remember having a bad meal here (I can't remember a really amazing one either though). Tribeca is mostly known for their chicken wings and a lot of people would go to the restaurant purely for these alone. I personally, could take them or leave them. They're nothing special in my book. Yeah they're nice, but I wouldn't go there JUST for the wings. After that, there isn't a huge amount of options on the menu. Last time I went I was disappointed. If you don't go for the wings, there's nothing that great on the menu. It's in a great location and is always quite busy. I've no idea why, but people are obviously going there for a reason. Our dinner in TriBeCa was as good as expected if not better. We arrived without pre-booking (due to miscommunication) but the staff were friendly enough and let us wait to get the next available table, which took about 2 minutes to be ready. We ordered the famous TriBeCa chicken wings, the mussels, nachos, and Caesar salad for starters. Needless to say, it was one of the best chicken wings I've tried in Dublin. For dessert we ordered the menu special which was vanilla panna cotta as well as brownies with vanilla ice cream. The panna cotta won over the brownies for our likings as a group and the restaurant should consider adding it to this principal menu, we thought. The atmosphere is absolutely nice, and we lived the New York themed decoration and pictures. Would definitely visit the place again! read more

All the talk beforehand was of the famous wings but I liked the sound of the crab meat tostada to start and it was fantastic. My partner got the wings which were big enough to share so I had the opportunity to sample those as well and their fame is justifiable. For the main I ordered the fish tacos which were very tasty while not quite to the standard of the starters. The same could be said for my partner's burger. I also came across a lovely craft beer from Donegal here (whose name escapes me) which was a special they were running at the time. I came here with a group of lads hell bent of having huge portions of wings with sides of beer and good craic! All of the above were had but at varying degrees of success. TriBeCa's wings are meant to be the food of gods according to pretty much every review on the place: I'm not sure if this is because people haven't tried other good places for wings or if it's just a bit of a marketing campaign but I found my wings no greater than the next place. Yeh they were good and the sauce is tasty but my wings were considerably over cooked along with the rest of my table and with very little sauce on them. We had a few in us at this stage and didn't bother complaining. Service was excellent and beer was good too. They have erdinger in the menu which is a good accompaniment to wings! If I'm honest I'll prob try somewhere else next time rather than running back. 3 stars as this place is nothing special. read more

Good meal! I ate here a few Sundays ago (you know, back when we were in town for once) and was pleasantly surprised. I had the chicken "burger" which was topped with avocado, peppers, parmesan and a spicy mayo. The chicken breast was tender and well seasoned and came with yummy chips. Whenever I meet a certain friend in Ranelagh, he always wants to go to Tribeca. I do like it but there are so many eateries in Ranelagh I felt that we should be trying a few of them out. We met last week on a Thursday lunchtime. I was a bit early so I took it upon myself to check out a few other restaurants. However when he joined me, we looked in a few windows and could just see empty tables. I guess no one wants to be the first into an empty restaurant! We looked at Tribeca and it was hopping. We decided to go in as it was busy. There were a couple of empty tables in the centre but even these were full by half one. The menu has a wide range of omelettes, burgers, sandwiches for lunch and other dishes. They do offer something for everyone so that could be part of the secret to their success. My friend loves the wings so he had the wings combo with fries and a salad. I had the pulled pork bap which was delicious. I had a lovely Pale Ale from Leitrim and my friend had a homemade lemonade. I wasnt keen on the lemonade but he liked it! We had a couple of decent coffees to finish. I enjoyed my lunch here. The staff are friendly. The place has been a given a revamp since my last visit and it looks great. I like the whole look- its very cosy. The prices are reasonable too. Its definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. They are famous for their wings so if you lie buffalo wings, this could be the place for you. read more

So I hear great things about the wings. They have to be tried they say.... So try them I did! Came here during week for casual meal and night out. Busy enough for a Tuesday at 6pm. Seems to be a busy place - these wings must have a reputation! 6 of us. Ordered wings and nachos for starter and I have to say. They are great! Wings tangy, spicy, want to suck all the sauce off them. Could eat a whole bucket load of them. Nachos.... Ok. Main courses I opted for a black pudding omelette. Light, fluffy, good amount of black pudding and nice crispy chips to accompany. Sadly not as good as the wings. Should have just had a big bucket of those. Restaurant wise I didn't like it at all. Maybe we had a bad night but couldnt hear a thing. Sitting on table of six I couldnt hear the girl opposite me. Maybe its bad acoustics. Too much for one people! This was a hungover morning recommendation and fitted the bill. Seems to be a very nice place.
