This place has the best chicken Caesar salad in Dublin, grilled chicken to perfection, also the bacon bits!!! Holy Sh*t so much bacon bits!! Chunky croutons! I was totally surprised by my visit to Box Burger yesterday. Infact so much so that it ticked all of the boxes relatively speaking. We went without a booking and were swiftly ushered to the cool bar area to wait on a table for a couple of minutes forgoing the option to plonk our butts in the high stools at the counter. Whilst here we were furnished with drinks menus and the manager asked us were there any beers we may be interested in. I said I had never tried Victory Brewing headwaters before and promptly a sample appeared before us and the same was the case with the Camden Hells Unfiltered lager. We didnt even have to ask to try them & I usually dont so it was a really nice touch. More akin to a drink with friends than the olden days where every droplet was treated like 50cents in the register, this paved the way for a nice afternoon sit down. The burgers and fries were delicious with my double burger forged with cheese, pineapple, a fried egg, two succulent beef patties and dressing being a mammoth meal on its own before being accompanied by the mouth watering chips lightly sprinkled with cajun spices. They also do cooked chickens rotisserie style rotating away in front of your very eyes in a fashion that would give any hipsters french bulldog a dizzy spell of vertigo watching the skewers rotate through the glass doors of the ovens like a culinary merry go-round. The staff are genuinely friendly here and appear to enjoy their job which in turn made me feel relaxed and thoroughly enjoy my pig out. Shamelessly. I will just include a picture of dessert for you to lust over, its beauty alone could be compared to that of a lamborghini poster/baywatch poster/(insert childhood poster). It doesnt need an explanation the beauty is in looking at it but unlike your childhood poster this beauty is attainable on the seafront in Bray at a reasonable price. I love burgers, and so I basically try every burger joint. I was out enjoying the lovely weather at the seaside, and decided to eat before heading back to town. There was loads of outdoor seating. There was either the burger menu or the menu from the pizza place upstairs. I got the Mexican burger, which was topped with ancho chili and jalapeños, served with a side of chipotle mayo and a side of guacamole. Best part? It came with a mini margarita! The margarita was actually good, more like you'd find in Mexico or the US, rather than the cloyingly sweet rubbish usually served here. Service was friendly and fast. read more

Where in Bray for a weekend we heard about a really good burger place and assumed this was it. We are definitely not disappointed! They had a very modern chic style restaurant that was really good and size. The menu suits the name of this place. There is a good selection of burgers including alternative and allergy friendly options such as a vegan burger and an option for a gluten-free bun. I opted to get the beet-based vegan burger and was really pleased. First of all the portions of food were really good size and the quality of the food tasted awesome as well. We opted to get some of their specialty cocktails and again we're not disappointed. The prices were pretty average for what I expect from this restaurant type. The thing to know is that extra sides and such come with an extra charge. They can accommodate large groups and we actually saw two different birthday parties on the night we chose to eat there. Had a lovely hangover feed in Box Burger the other day. Overall, the place is well decked out, well priced, with a good menu. I felt the burger was a little too much for my delicate hungover disposition on the day, so thought chipping away at a plate of nachos would be the way to do it. Jay-sis! Some plate! I ate half, gave some to some of my friends, and still had half to take away with me. The half weighed about as much as a small baby would! I couldn't leave it behind though - everything was so fresh and flavourful, really really excellent. For me there were a few disappointments though - service was a bit all over the shop, and our server, although he was really friendly, was a bit too casual and seriously inattentive. We had to call people over on a few occasions to swap wrong orders, ask where our drinks / food etc was. To be fair to them, it was busy enough and they were always very helpful when asked. It's just that it becomes a bit annoying to have to keep asking. The other thing was the doughnuts - they weren't great. Pretty greasy with not much dough, and the chocolate sauce tasted burned to me. All in all, small issues aside, I actually really enjoyed my meal here and I could see myself going back and giving them another whirl. In a word: Overpriced Nothing is bad in Box Burger. But nothing is great either. The staff are friendly although a little distracted on my visit. It took a lot of attempts to get anyone's attention. The food is good. The burgers are a little underwhelming. Nice enough but not particularly big and while the taste is good, nothing to shout about. The prices are higher then I would expect for the quality. All in all, everything is "ok". Nothing higher than that. I wish I could give a middle 2 and a half stars because that was the experience. read more

What a delight! I have been meaning to try out this new addition to Bray for a few weeks after hearing great things. Oh boy did they live up to their rep. A few of us hopped into the car and headed down to the "Gateway of Wicklow". The hostess was super friendly and chatty with us. One of the group was coeliac and they couldn't of been more accommodating! Good variety of delicious options on their menu also. Of course you have a wide selection of meaty burgers but also nice veggie options and sides too. They have a full bar with craft beers etc. There were lots of xmas work parties going on the night we were there so definately a good place to start a night. Box is a restaurant with a cool bar and clubby vibes. I went on a Saturday night when there was a live DJ. Its a cool concept. Much of the same industrial interior that seems to be everywhere but it works. Most importantly the food is amazing. The menu offers lots of tasty options like 'frickles' which are cajun deep fried pickles and are a must try! The burgers are served on brioche and are gorgeous while the starters absolutely must be shared as they're huge. read more

Bray seafront has just improved with this restaurant setting the tone for a night out on the promenade. Décor and music are a nice touch to set you up for what's in store. Staff are warm and friendly and can be quite attentive ensuring that food is in order and the drinks are flowing. Unfortunately, the chicken wings left a lot to be desired and will not be troubling a LovinDublin list anytime soon. The portion size was enough for a starter, but greasy, slightly overcooked and not a lot of meat on the bones which broke on the majority. I had expectations set maybe higher because of WingIt being closely associated with the sister restaurant Platform Pizza next door. Onto the main. Now for me this is where they have claimed back some of the goodwill I am extending. Perfect burger with the right amount of topping, where it can be held and there is still a small amount of overflow. With the main I had the twice fried chips and was also disappointed with these. I felt as if I had been given the end of a bag, but the chicken gravy almost made up for it. All in all I would return and I think the burgers are the main attraction and can see it as a great place for a meal on a night out. read more

After 2 visits and the first being impressed by the decor and sitting at the bar rather than a table I enjoyed the buzz of the lads doing there thing and service was good.The girl had served us before in there sister spot"Platform". So Decided to bring the lads the following week and did I see things different! Firstly we got a table and the phone charger didn't work, the personal sound system that I had heard about did not work well. As for the food the mains came out before the starter and then we had to listen too many apologies from too many staff. They we're obviously having a bad night because they we're apologising to the people on both tables either side. Or Maybe not! As friends of mine visited on monday night next to get the same mistake with food after waiting 25mins for a drink. Our conclusion is that we are mostly surprised that the service is as bad for one of there places! As for the food,not much variety on the burger choices! and pricey for the size of them! But theres always Platform!! Is it a case that they have bitten off too much to chew! We'll have to see. read more

Honestly fantastic! Visited several weeks ago on an extremely busy weekend, the host immediately booked us for a table 15-25 minutes expected wait, with it being between 5-10 minutes in the end. (While we waited we were brought to a seat at bar and the server promptly took our drinks order.) The menu selection is fantastic, with great options for both mains, sides, desserts and drinks. t was the best burger I have ever had. Servers were all above and beyond with helpfulness with dietary requirements etc. Venue itself was great, fantastic atmosphere, like no where I had been in Ireland before! Fantastic value for such high quality food and service! Would highly recommend it if ever visiting Bray! Definitely will be back! read more

Great views, food is great but service is terrible. It was as if we were completely forgotten about, staff served everyone but us. A jug of water with ice was placed in front of us yet no glasses or cups, sat staring at it until our food arrived and forced to ask. Ordered a Coke which I never received at all. Asked can I pay and the waiter asked "you want to pay?" And didn't approach us after until I approached him.
