Look I don't want to sound like some kind of burger snob, but this place is a bit overrated. The fries are decent enough - nothing special - but the bacon cheeseburger I got was overcooked (came out medium well instead of medium rare) and was lacking flavor in the beef itself. I mean, it still tasted pretty good (it's not like it was a fast food burger or anything) but it's just nothing special. 2.5 stars, rounded up to 3 for bell curve purposes.

Ok so I probably haven't been in a GBK in years (no particular reason why). However tonight I wanted a burger. I was on South Anne Street and first decided I'd go to Bunsen. Well it was before 5 and they had a wait so I was like, yeah no. So I went to GBK. So happy I did! I got the avo bacon burger. First off, it had loads of avo and loads of bacon! Second, they had a bun less option at no charge which gave a nice portion of slaw and salad. The only downside to the food was the burger only comes med-well or well because those fools in health and safety fear joy. As far as beverages go, they have FREE REFILLS of Coca Cola products! Also tea, coffee, wine and beer. It's counter ordering but it was quick and painless. Also, the noise level is normal, like you can have a conversation without screaming.

My third GBK was another success. Chicken Wings + Beef Burger for 10 euros is a pretty good deal. The only problem I found with this store in particular is that, if you seat at the back of the restaurant, you can hear very loudly the guys in the kitchen chopping/cooking/drumming in a rock back. Anyway, I noted that they have a new milkshake (salted caramel) so I will be back for sure.

Had the lunch meal deal for €9.99. This nets you a starter & a burger which is pretty good but considering the burger comes with no sides, the starter is basically your side so the price is just about right. I had the caeser salad to start and man they make this small. As a starter it's very petite, apart from that it was nice albeit covered in dressing, there was literally a little pool of dressing at the end of the bowl. I was in a slightly gorging mood so I didn't mind this but you might want to keep this in mind if you order this. The burger was the Kumara veggie burger. This was nice but the abundance of bread surrounding the burger was a little unreal. The burger itself was of a decent size but considering you're paying above average prices for a burger you'd expect it to be a little bigger. There was simply far too much bread. Again it tasted nice and was covered in 2 sauces, honey mustard & a relish, both which complimented the burger well. Decor was fine and it was pretty busy for lunch tim. In short: the value doesn't quite add up and the food didn't blow me away but fine if you're looking for a burger @ lunch time.

I was so disappointed with this place. I'm a big burgers fan (as my other reviews indicate!) and was really looking forward to trying the new gbk (it only opened a few months ago.) Now, in GBK's defence, maybe I ordered badly. I decided to go for the chicken burger with garlic mayo option and it was awful. Maybe I would've been safer with just the regular beef option, but these burger bars have so many options, you expect everything to be good! The chicken burger was like a lump of chicken Maryland, with extra crispy breadcrumbs, deep fried and the garlic mayo was so strong I felt like I was swallowing a clove of garlic with each bite. Not only was mine bad, by my dinner guests thought their burgers were pretty horrendous too. Now maybe I just caught them on a bad night, but I won't be going back anytime soon, if ever even.

I generally like to avoid chains, especially in cities. There are so many excellent, independent options out there that I want to patronize and support and enjoy! However, we were on the hunt for a good burger and the menu did look pretty tempting and indeed gourmet. On top of that, the 5 euro burger offer was pretty much impossible to walk away from, so we went on in. The menu is extensive, and you can get lots of different options from the mundane to the adventurous. I wanted something interesting, so I got the. Mexican. The food came out quickly and both the burger and chips were very large and I think two girls could easily share one plate. I bit into the burger and it was pretty darn delicious, indeed, rather gourmet. The patty was moist but thoroughly cooked (beware of pink ground beef, as lots of germs can be hidden in there. Yuck) and the toppings were plentiful. Everything tasted fresh. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would definitely come back again.

It is believed that 'Temple Bar' street's name originated from 'Sir William Temple' from the 'Temple family (you can see the same on the outer wall of the pub) The most iconic pub in Dublin, the Temple Bar Pub, sits proudly on the corner of Temple Bar and Temple Lane South. With live music from 10:30 am every day, this is a pub with a party atmosphere all day long. I was amused at how many people popped in, snapped off a quick photo or a 30-second video, and then left without stopping for a drink. Then again, at €8 a pint, and it's one of the more expensive drinks in an already expensive city ( and I did the same in 2-3 pubs), and that's fine. Doesn't matter whether you wanna have food or drink here or not, but I would definitely recommend (in capital letters), have one drink here. Yes, it's expensive (just 3-4 euros more, come on), but the vibe, that's totally worth it. I truly believe, though, that if you're going to experience Dublin, then you can't leave without experiencing Temple Bar. I had like 4-5 drinks at different pubs, and though it's touristy and "trap"- I would come here again and again. No other place has a "temple bar pub ' vibe. There is always live music, the stage is rarely empty, and the diary is always full. The Temple Bar Pub is famed throughout Dublin for its lively, traditional Irish music scene. PS: don't get confused with Temple Bar at the end of every pub. Its neighborhood name (Temple bar neighborhood), and this pub is Temple Bar pub.

I went during my first trip to Dublin and not again until my boyfriend and I went to Dublin together. As it was his first visit, we had to go. The bar is always packed unless you arrive as soon as they open. It's not longer after opening time that it becomes a mad house well into the night. They've always got live music and proper Guinness pours (more $$ than elsewhere). So yeah, it's a tourist trap but it's also fun if you know what you're getting into and what to expect.

I'm happy we didn't because we really enjoyed the atmosphere. I know an American going to a new American restaurant in Ireland is a little bit weird maybe not, but the music they were playing was pretty good. It was very old-school Americano kind of style. Nothing like it is today. So if you want to get the nostalgia of a little bit of America of what it used to be definitely come on in and check it out. We were greeted by the bartender look like he was the only one taking care of everybody. Came up and told us the special and the special that we chose was the fish and chips. This place is really great because not only do you get the fish and chips at a great deal you get a pint of beer included! I believe it came out to be about €20 but that has been the best deal that I could get the whole time I was in Ireland! My partner ordered a tonic and asked for some lime and was provided was a big bottle of lime juice. Check out the photo. The fish came out with two pieces. They were perfectly flaky, and the french fries were actually pretty crispy, unlike some places we visited in Ireland the french fries were really floppy and were baked rather than deep-fried. There are different specials on the lunch menu and I believe that the lunch menu goes until 5 PM. So if you're looking for a little bit of nostalgia and a great deal, check this place out while you're walking through the streets.
