The Old Storehouse is a Dublin pub with casual seating, live music, Guinness on tap (of course), and delicious eats. My husband and I stopped by for dinner and I ordered a caesar salad and their fish chowder. The caesar was great but my gosh the fish chowder and accompanying brown bread rocked my socks. So, much so, that I did what I never do--I revisited this spot more than once on the same trip (so many places to explore I almost never do this!). That fish chowder is craveable. They do live music on occasion as well and so we were able to enjoy that while sipping our Guinness. The prices are reasonable and the service is friendly. They aren't as small as they look at first glance, on one of our visits, we sat upstairs which has a second dining area. Amazing! Get to it! read more

Loud music, cheap drinks and good food. Place was absolutely packed with people in town for the American Football game so service was dreadfully slow. Had to excuse ourselves from the table multiple times to freshen drinks. The food was good. Once again, absolute star was the Buffalo Wings! Ireland? I mean what??? Perfectly cooked, sauced nicely, just spectacular! The band was playing a mix and of Irish Music and American Rock songs played to Irish tunes. Very fun and well engaged with the crowd. With having dozens of choices for dinner in The Temple Bar District we decided on The Old Storehouse after reading almost all 4 or 5 star reviews. Upon entering it was slightly confusing as to go upstairs or into the bar area to find the hostess to be seated & with no one there to help us we walked into the Bar area to the right & ordered a few Guinness's & waited for someone to seat us somewhere. We ended up being seated in the entry area right at the entrance which was fine because it was super loud up the stairs. We ordered the Pork Pie & The Beef Casserole. Both were really good & filling. The service was decent & the ambiance was nice although it was very, very loud. Overall it was a great meal with above average prices but I'm not sure we'd go back next time due to the other factors. read more

An Irish restaurant with a large dining room and full liquor bar. This place gave off the vibe where I could get a traditional Irish meal. We sat across from the bar and ordered the IRISH LAMB STEW (Irish lean lamb, root veggies, barley, and baby potatoes). It sounded great on the menu and I had high hopes that it would taste great too. While I waited for my meal I ordered a GUINNESS HOP HOUSE 13 LAGER, which was a hoppy crisp delight. The lamb stew was served in a bowl with a hearty portion and a side cracker. Came here around 8pm on a Thursday after a day tour to the Cliffs of Moher, and waited a bit for a table. The waiting area to be seated is on the 2nd level to the side of the bar. After being seated on the 3rd level right above the bar, we waited a bit for a server. Ordered 2 Guinness, 2 seafood chowders to start, and we shared the fish and chips. The Guinness came quick. The seafood chowder was delicious especially on a cold, rainy day. We've had better fish and chips - these were nothing to rave about. My husband and I had so much fun here! We ended up here after bar hopping throughout Temple Bar district and we ended up staying here the longest. They had an amazing performer who was doing all the amazing cover hits that I could've dreamed of. We got there around 8:30, so it was still pretty early and easy to find seats. As the night progressed, it did get a bit harder to find seats, so I'd recommend to come early. Since we already ate, we only came for the vibes. This place had a wow factor. A old style pub with warm delicious foods. Being from a warm island closer to the equator and coming to an island where the high is in the 60s. The atmosphere and food was a warm welcome. Our waiter was awesome checking on us regularly. We had a seafood chowder that was devoured immediately. It was that good. The Banger and mash and lamb stew were warmth to the soul. It was like stepping into someone's kitchen and getting a home cooked meal. Now sitting next to the kitchen work station it was impressive to see most of the food was prepared as ordered. March 2024 visit - This was our very 1st meal after arriving in Dublin, we were starving for a late lunch so we took an Uber here from the Gibson Hotel. We wanted to experience a traditional Irish pub with great vibes with good music and The Old Storehouse delivers. Downstairs is a bar and upstairs is where you can sit down for a meal. Hubby and I shared a seafood chowder, Guinness stew, a side order of vegetables, and a cheesy garlic bread. The Guinness stew was quite salty but it worked out perfectly with all our side dishes. Some of the best/most comforting food we had while in Dublin. We were exploring Temple Bar and had just arrived in Dublin and wanted to try Irish cuisine and get out of the November cold and wind. We lucked out snagging a table upstairs while there was also live music playing. It was Top 40 hits from 80's/90's/now and the band was really talented. We swayed and sang in our seats while we awaited our Guinness and took in the warm wood and nostalgia decor. The vibes were quintessential "Irish pub" and the service friendly. In addition to the Guinness (it really is better in Ireland), we ordered: Onion Rings: served with ranch. They were good. Nothing super special, but well-cooked. Bangers and Mash: pork sausages and creamy mash served with gravy. That gravy is incredible. We could happily swim in it. Sausage well-seasoned and the potatoes creamy and flavorful. Irish Cottage Pie: ground beef, veggies, and topped with mashed potatoes and served with more veggies. The meat was a tad salty, but the mixture of textures and flavors were great. My favorite part was the root veggies. They were so tasty, perfect amount of crunch, and the herbs chosen were great. We would definitely make a stop here again and would try and get a seat downstairs during live music. read more

It was our goal to only eat traditional Irish food while in Dublin. This restaurant is located in the Temple Bar area and seemed to be busy the whole time so we gave it a shot. We had to stand in line for a bit prior to getting a table. It was a packed house with live music and bustling servers ensuring everyone was cared for. It's made of dark wood and covered with old kitchy art and tchotchkes. We ordered drinks and food at the same time. The food came out a split second later so they must have everything staged and ready because we got the food before our drinks, and there is no way they cooked it to order. I ordered the pork and apple pie and my husband ordered the Guinness stew. His food was pretty good while mine left a lot to be desired. The service was ok for it being as busy as it was. This is one of the restaurants where they add a service charge to your bill (tipping isn't a thing in Ireland, but you can definitely tip if you feel so inclined). We noticed some places added about 10% and some didn't. read more

After lunch we decided we would go for a walk back to the Temple Bar area. We had seen the bar across the street and we walked in but it was pretty busy and standing room only. We decided to stroll across the street into The Old Storehouse. They had live music here too and while the crowd was slightly more hidden from the front door, it was just as busy at TOS. Because it is larger and has more open spaces, there was more seating area. We started outside because the upstairs was more restaurant space and we just wanted to have drinks. The outside patio area had a TV but you could still hear the singer. It has a covered open feel so you could see and hear the rain but we were kept dry. After 3-4 hours, we decided to go back upstairs and share a few dishes. So we did what every tourist should do, we ordered the Guinness Stew, Bangers and Mash and there Cottage Pie [when in Rome]. All were extremely delicious and the portions were a good size. The Guinness Stew created a great conversation because two of the guests thought that this was better than the other famous place we went to for their famous Guinness Beef Stew. We also shared a Baily's cheesecake with the ice cream. Glad the place across the street had no seating area, we were very happy to be here. read more

What a great first night in Dublin but to find a random place for dinner and not knowing what to expect - it turned into a night of entertainment. My waitress was quick to get me a seat where I could enjoy the entertainment- not knowing what it was. I just saw two guys on stage setting up and the restaurant slowly filling up. I have my beer, wings, and tequila I'm good to go. The musicians duo sounded good doing a mix of cover songs and old Irish favorites (I'm guessing) and then all of a sudden here's this young girl who jumps on stage and started doing some epic step dancing. How cool is that. I ended staying to have a few more drinks and decided to call it a night. We stopped in for a late dinner around 9pm and the ambiance was 10/10. They had live music going and everyone was upbeat and singing along. The service was pretty good as well. We did have to flag the waiter down once or twice because once he brought the food he didn't check on us again to see if we had everything we needed. Also didn't ask us for a second round of drinks. The food itself was pretty tasty. We had the vegan burger with chips, the Irish cottage pie, the beef casserole and the spicy chicken wings with chips. The Old Storehouse is a restaurant next to Leo Burdock and across the street from The Bad Ass Cafe. The food is great, but dining space is pretty cramped (especially if sporting events are on). It's pretty hard to get a table on the weekend so would recommend getting there early to secure a spot. read more
