With having dozens of choices for dinner in The Temple Bar District we decided on The Old Storehouse after reading almost all 4 or 5 star reviews. Upon entering it was slightly confusing as to go upstairs or into the bar area to find the hostess to be seated & with no one there to help us we walked into the Bar area to the right & ordered a few Guinness's & waited for someone to seat us somewhere. We ended up being seated in the entry area right at the entrance which was fine because it was super loud up the stairs. We ordered the Pork Pie & The Beef Casserole. Both were really good & filling. The service was decent & the ambiance was nice although it was very, very loud. Overall it was a great meal with above average prices but I'm not sure we'd go back next time due to the other factors.

3.5 stars - super fast service * Irish lamb stew 3.5/5 * Fish and chips 3.5/5 Lamb stew was broth instead of gravy. Food came out within five minutes. Nice and warm and everything tasted fresh. Live music, pretty good restaurant just not our favorite.

Amazing live music! We stopped here for a couple drinks and had a blast. Great vibes and service was quick and friendly!

    GUINNESS HOP HOUSE 13 LAGER

An Irish restaurant with a large dining room and full liquor bar. This place gave off the vibe where I could get a traditional Irish meal. We sat across from the bar and ordered the IRISH LAMB STEW (Irish lean lamb, root veggies, barley, and baby potatoes). It sounded great on the menu and I had high hopes that it would taste great too. While I waited for my meal I ordered a GUINNESS HOP HOUSE 13 LAGER, which was a hoppy crisp delight. The lamb stew was served in a bowl with a hearty portion and a side cracker. The stew was warm and packed with carrots and potatoes. It tasted incredible and not sure if the stew or the beer filled me up or both.

Delicious food with great service! This place has a great true Irish atmosphere. I ordered my much anticipated beef and potatoes and loved it! I also ordered a whisky and enjoyed it with my hearty meal.

We came here for dinner and was seated upstairs. Honestly wished we were seated downstairs where all the action was. There was live music! Regardless, the food we ordered was delicious. We ordered everything to share. - Irish beef casserole is a MUST - Seafood chowder was good and highly recommend if you love a good chowder - Steamed mussels which came in a bacon garlic cream sauce & garlic bread. This could've been more saucier

Another spot we dropped into Thursday night. There are different levels and each had its own vibe and music genre. We stayed on the live music floor mostly before heading out to find a new place to drop in. Lots of room in this one, it didn't get as packed as the other places and it was pretty chill here. Most spots are standing room only but with how big this spot is, if you wanna sit down and chill, you can.

Gord and I had supper at The Old Storehouse last Tuesday. Gord had battered cod, mushy peas and chips (his third since Friday) and I had a grilled chicken burger and chips. Both were good. Paddy Brown entertained and sang a mixture of traditional Irish songs and covers and was good.

My husband and I had so much fun here! We ended up here after bar hopping throughout Temple Bar district and we ended up staying here the longest. They had an amazing performer who was doing all the amazing cover hits that I could've dreamed of. We got there around 8:30, so it was still pretty early and easy to find seats. As the night progressed, it did get a bit harder to find seats, so I'd recommend to come early. Since we already ate, we only came for the vibes. We ordered a Whiskey soda and beer and enjoyed amazing entertainment. Highly recommend this place in the Temple Bar district if you're looking for drinks and sing a longs!

When we entered, the seating was confusing as to wear to go. There was a line up the stairs apparently, but no host stand. The Live music was good. The seafood chowder was flavorful with lots of fish & carrots & the bread was delicious. The strawberry daiquiri is very small but strong.

This place had a wow factor. A old style pub with warm delicious foods. Being from a warm island closer to the equator and coming to an island where the high is in the 60s. The atmosphere and food was a warm welcome. Our waiter was awesome checking on us regularly. We had a seafood chowder that was devoured immediately. It was that good. The Banger and mash and lamb stew were warmth to the soul. It was like stepping into someone's kitchen and getting a home cooked meal. Now sitting next to the kitchen work station it was impressive to see most of the food was prepared as ordered. It may sound touristy, there were moments you felt like you were in a place where the locals came to enjoy a pint with friends. Good food, great service and Inviting ambiance.

Amazing performers and great food + drink! Upstairs is nice and cozy and the service was great.

Yum yum yum! It was our first stop when we landed in Dublin and it was for sure the right choice! It was the best fish and chips we had on our trip as well as the best bangers and mash I have ever had! It was in a prime location, among all of the quintestial Dublin spots but it wasn't overly crowded with tourists! There was live music when we went that was great as well!

The authentic Victorian setting, the Victorian mahogany fittings, the mosaic marble tiled floors and granite tabletops, the mahogany bar, capped with red Connemara marble, follows the classic Victorian architectural pattern. The staff are helpful, friendly and patient since their accent is hard to understand sometime. My 1st beer and 1st Irish food, all I can say is what a meal, just simple delish. Being here is just a wondrous experience, the place is cosy, warm and the friendly of the people. So glad I picked this place as my first of Dublin.

Tucked down Dame Court just off Dame Street, The Stag's Head is one of those rare pubs that feels genuinely historic rather than designed to look old. The building dates to the late 1800s, and the interior retains the ornate features of a classic Victorian "gin palace"--rich carved wood, stained glass, brass rails, and a warm, glowing bar that feels wonderfully preserved. We stopped in around 4:30 pm, which turned out to be a perfect time to visit. There were other patrons enjoying drinks and food, but the atmosphere was calm and relaxed rather than loud or rowdy. It felt like the kind of place where locals drop in for a quiet pint on their way home from work before the evening crowd arrives. The staff were excellent--friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. The food was very good (we failed to take photos because we were too busy enjoying it). As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to see the Impossible burger front and center on their menu; it was deliciously prepared with guacamole on a brioche bun, and not an afterthought on the menu. My companions both chose the Irish Beef Burger, and said it was excellent. One thing to know: this is a traditional Victorian pub, so cocktails aren't really part of the program. Expect beer, wine, or spirits rather than mixed drinks. In a place like this, that actually feels exactly right. Other pubs do serve mixed drinks. Between the history, the ambience, the quality of the food, and the wonderful staff, The Stag's Head is the kind of place that makes you feel like you've experienced a real piece of Dublin.

From the…read moreoutside, it plants itself confidently among Dublin's historic streets with a façade that promises hearty fare and good pints; inside, the space is warm and inviting with dark wood, exposed brick, beautiful murals, and comfortable seating that encourages lingering. My party of six walked in on a Wednesday night at around 7:30pm; at that time, the restaurant was about half-full, but filled up over the course of our meal. The menu has plenty of options ranging from healthy salads to traditional Irish dishes to your standard hearty pub fare. Drinks are also fairly priced here, and they have a good range of ales and lagers on tap (and of course, the classic Guinness). I opted for their Rustic Dublin Coddle (€20.50), which is a sizeable bowl of warming soup with two chargrilled, tender pork sausages, smoky bacon, soft potatoes, and onion, served with toasted sourdough bread. I appreciated the clean taste of the soup (made with an herbed chicken broth), which cut the rich fattiness of the sausage and bacon. I do wish the soup had been served with a more traditional Irish brown bread, but the sourdough was tasty nonetheless. Another great dish was the Waterloo Prime Irish Beef Burger (€19), which is a large patty of juicy, prime Irish beef served atop a toasted bun, with red onions, baby gem lettuce, pickled gherkins, and a tangy smoked Dublin cheddar. Some friends ordered the Superfood Salad (€15), which has a plethora of fresh vegetables and grains, but they noted it was quite bland, even with the French dressing. Yes, it's a bit on the pricey side for a pub, but I find Waterlooo Bar unique in that the atmosphere feels classic but lively: you get that laid-back Dublin pub energy with a hint of sophistication that makes it great for both casual meals and nights out. The food is solid if not stellar, the vibe is fun, and prices are reasonable for the area; a satisfying pick for an Irish pub dinner.

Menu has a good selection of Irish dishes from seafood chowder up to lamb stew and pies. We ordered the potato soup, seafood chowder, 'banjo' burger with onion rings. The soups arrived first and the seafood chowder was loaded with huge pieces of fish, potatoes (not many) with a creamy rich base. Flavor was incredible and in itself a full meal. Served in a large crock style bowl. The potato soup was minus any whole potatoes. It was a rich creamy base with plenty of flavor and very hearty. The burger was really a double cheeseburger with plenty of cheese, grilled onions, what appeared to be a mayonnaise based sauce on a soft hamburger roll. Really tall enough that it was tough getting your mouth around it. Very well seasoned burgers and the onions were a nice touch. The onion rings were huge and had a very light batter on them. They served in a metal bowl to keep them hot. For dessert the apple crumble was ordered which was served in a large dish with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. This could have been warmer but still was good.. The 5 star rating is for the chowder as it outshone the rest of the meal although the burger was definitely a close second. Definitely will return to try other dishes when we come back to the city.

The meat and veggies were plentiful, the portion generous, and it was tasty enough but maybe on the bland side? It was served with a side of braised red cabbage which we really liked: sweet but not sour like pickled cabbage. And house-made brown stout bread, also very good. The wife had a Guinness and I, thinking it too cliché to order Guinness as a tourist in Ireland, tried a different stout whose name I've forgotten from the ample selection. But comparing the two, so much better! The menu offers a wide variety of traditional Irish dishes, more than most of the similar pubs in the area. As well as the other expected pub type food: sandwiches, burgers, etc. As for desserts, if we were hungrier, the wife might have ordered the Irish Whiskey Bread & Butter Pudding. The hubby would probably get his dessert later, as the selection was limited and neither that nor the Apple Crumble appealed. Sitting at the bar we had a more personalized experience than were we at a table. The bartender offered to take a photo of me behind the bar which I of course accepted. We made the right choice in coming here.
