Bangers & Mash Guinness Irish Stew

Amazing food! Amazing experience in general. Such a cool spot. We were redirected from the sweetest bartender next door at electric circus! She was the best. Found us a seat and we devoured the food! So good!

What a cool and funky place! My salmon chowder was fantastic! So was the bread! Enough space for us to have a little birthday party and I had a great time!

Celt Pub wins best Irish music of our not long enough trip to Dublin. We had two purposes for our visit to this establishment - eat our last Irish meal and listen to our last bit of Irish music, and we succeeded at both. For our meal, I'll admit, we went a bit crazy and over ordered. My cousin and I shared several Irish staples including Fish & Chips, Clonnany Farm Bangers and Mash, Beef & Guinness Stew, and a side of Guinness Brown Bread. And we each ordered Guinness as well. We ate in the large back dining area which was spacious and nicely decorated. It had a nice cozy feel despite being such a large room. After we finished as much as we could of our dinner, we meandered over to the front area where the music was playing. There were two musicians performing together - a duo from a group called The Druids Folk Band. I really enjoyed them and was especially happy to finally hear Steve Earle's Galway Girl sung live. Everyone in the bar area was having a blast - employees included. Short and and sweet - it was the perfect last night out in Dublin.

Lots of space, so even when it's crowded you feel like you have enough room! Always lively and has good, live music. Pints are cheaper than the temple bar area, and the vibes here are less touristy. One of the best pubs we went to in Dublin! Went back multiple nights the bartenders recognized us and we felt like locals haha

I first walked into the Celt Pub when I was 19 and then again a couple of weeks ago at 27. I know it's only a matter of time until I return again. This is my favorite Irish Pub. Period. With a mix of locals, some tourists (nothing like in Temple Bar), amazing music (usually starting at 9pm), and decent food... you couldn't want for more. Go for the vibe. Just go. Do it. I could sit there all night listening to music and if you tire of the music in one room (are you nuts??) then hop over to one of their other rooms for equally good music. This place just personifies good craic. I wouldn't even care if they didn't serve food. But they do, so grab some fish & chips, a beer, and settle down for a 10/10 night that will doubtless be a highlight of your trip. I sure wish I could spend the evening at the Celt Pub tonight!

Maybe one of our favorite dining experiences of the trip. The food here was unbelievably good. We had a long layover in Dublin and were looking for some traditional Irish fare and this hit every mark! We did not have a reservation and would recommend one as it was packed even on a week night. Luckily the wait staff was super friendly and was able to get us a table in between reservation slots. The atmosphere was as you would expect at any local pub with fun decor. For an appetizer we shared the Guinness stew just because we could not pass it up and I would absolutely recommend it! It was amazing. For primary entrees we ordered the roast beef and fish and chips and both were exceptional. The fish was humongous and perfectly fried! I seriously think this is a must stop in Dublin.

Great pub to try on Talbout Street. Full bar and delicious comfort food. The beef stew was wonderful. Offering an inviting atmosphere of a cozy home away from home, this pub is a source of joy for many. With a variety of beer and whiskey selections, live music and a warm, friendly atmosphere, this is a perfect place to gather with friends and family. enjoy a traditional pub meal or a pint of your favorite beer, and the conversations that take place in these pubs are sure to be memorable. Whether you're looking for a place to relax after a long day or just to catch up with old friends.

Wonderful filling delicious meals. I had the fish & chips and hubby had beef stew both items the pub is famous for. Elliott was our server, very attentive and checked on us several times. We needed a cab since it was now dark and bartender not only called for a cab but went outside to make sure we got got into the cab. We highly recommend the service and bar with filling meals that we couldn't finish and thoroughly enjoyed the great service and attentive employees.

Chicken Caesar Salad was very good. Good dressing.

Loved this traditional Irish pub in Dublin, IRE that offers great food, live entertainment, and of course a pint of Guinness. We went here on our last night in Dublin. Forget the Temple Bar scene with the crowds and tourists. The Celt was just perfect for us to enjoy the Irish pub spirit (and a pretty good Beef and Guinness Stew!).

Super cool spot. First pub we hit in Dublin. Had a decent Irish breakfast and great service. We were happy to see some great American political signs among the many vintage items of decor. Some beautiful old woodwork as well.

What a wonderful pub to go to while in Dublin! I loved the atmosphere, the food, and the drinks! It's much larger on the inside compared to what you see from the street. I can't wait to go back! Such excellence service!

Tucked down Dame Court just off Dame Street, The Stag's Head is one of those rare pubs that feels genuinely historic rather than designed to look old. The building dates to the late 1800s, and the interior retains the ornate features of a classic Victorian "gin palace"--rich carved wood, stained glass, brass rails, and a warm, glowing bar that feels wonderfully preserved. We stopped in around 4:30 pm, which turned out to be a perfect time to visit. There were other patrons enjoying drinks and food, but the atmosphere was calm and relaxed rather than loud or rowdy. It felt like the kind of place where locals drop in for a quiet pint on their way home from work before the evening crowd arrives. The staff were excellent--friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. The food was very good (we failed to take photos because we were too busy enjoying it). As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to see the Impossible burger front and center on their menu; it was deliciously prepared with guacamole on a brioche bun, and not an afterthought on the menu. My companions both chose the Irish Beef Burger, and said it was excellent. One thing to know: this is a traditional Victorian pub, so cocktails aren't really part of the program. Expect beer, wine, or spirits rather than mixed drinks. In a place like this, that actually feels exactly right. Other pubs do serve mixed drinks. Between the history, the ambience, the quality of the food, and the wonderful staff, The Stag's Head is the kind of place that makes you feel like you've experienced a real piece of Dublin.

My girlfriend and I were itching to explore the pub scene or any scene for that matter! We decided to layer up and go for a walk...in 32 degree weather and a foot of snow. Hey we're Floridians, we were up for some change! Lo and behold, we look up at the pub around the corner from our Airbnb, and the doors are open. We see Dubliners out front smoking cigarettes, joshing around, happy to be out in the world. We nearly sprinted into The Back Page, which is a fantastic name for a pub by the way. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Customers were relaxed, the bartenders were chipper, and there was lots of wiggle room to sit or stand throughout the two story venue. Local beers and local whiskies filled the menu, and the prices were very reasonable. Attached to the bar is a pizza joint, I assume they are under the same ownership. We ordered the Sonia O'Sullivan pie and Bruschetta and both were excellent. Having Italy on the horizon in just a matter of days, we were not expecting 5 star pizza in Dublin. To our surprise, the texture and overall flavor of the pie were absolutely phenomenal. Full of life, cheerfulness, and exuberance at The Back Page. Recommend to anyone!
