Corn, no dressing as described, just thrown in the box with the fries.

Post New Year's Eve hangover required comfort food. Wings and burgers sounded about right. Having had a great experience in The counter in Dundrum, my hopes were high. Went in to order food to go. Had a cup of tea while waiting.....and waiting....and waiting. 50 minutes later!!!!! I complained because I felt that was an unacceptable wait time and I was given 25% off the bill. Which I was satisfied with...until I got home with the food. My order: turkey burger with avocado, jalapeños, Spicy cheese and chipotle aioli, sweet potato fries, wings, corn on the cob, a beef burger with crispy fried onions, red onion relish and cheese, and a kids mini burger meal. With a kids chocolate milkshake and a large vanilla malt. When I was ordering I was told the corn came with feta and spicy seasoning, yummy I thought!! What we got: Beef burger with salsa not relish. Turkey burger with no jalepenos and the wrong cheese Corn thrown in the box with the sweet potato fries and no dressing. The 2 milkshakes, which were given to me 10 mins into the 50 minute wait. And NO KIDS meal!!! Never mind me, the kids were very, very unhappy!!!! The portion of chicken wings was much smaller than what you get when you sit in, and when being charged the same price, this is unacceptable. Not sure I will make a return visit. Also, they charged me for a kids milkshake, but not the meal!! Not good.

burgerlicious! chick-chick with avocado & roasted garlic aioli. yuuuuum!

If you're fussy, like myself, you can make sure there aren't any surprises in your burgers, like enemy onions, BECAUSE you can build your own! It's €9.95 for 1.3lbs (cooked weight), which is....something in grams. That's the cheapest option but that's a pretty decent sized burger. You can choose to have your burger with beef, chicken, turkey or a veggie patty. What's even more awesome is that if you're there with a cutiepie, you can share your fries! It's €3.95 for a regular portion of fries...although I just checked the menu & apparently there's a single portion of fries for €1.75, so I assume the regular portion is larger than two single portions otherwise I probably deserve to fail my math exam today. Although to be honest the fries aren't exactly mind-blowing, their burgers is what you should go for. If you're doing a low-carb thing, you can also switch your bun for a bowl of either lettuce blend or baby greens. Oh & they also have a deal at the moment for one of their signature burgers & a beer for €11.95, that's a DEEEAL! PS: they have a good few booths & who doesn't love chilling out in a booth?!

One of my favourite burges places in Dublin. Love the fact that you can make your own burger picking the type of meat, size, bun, cheese, sauces and toppings. There's a big variety of options too, which is great as it allows you to try something different each time. The burger I got was REALLY good and the sweet potatoes fries were some of the best I've had. My friend also ordered the peanut butter milkshake and I got to try some..it was SO good! I was way too full to get a milkshake as well but next time I go I'll make sure to leave some room for it. Oh and the sauces were AMAZING! Staff was super nice too and we got served pretty fast. Love this place, will definitely go back!

Yum yum - burger in a bowl with crispy bacon :)

Love their menu options and the idea to create your very own burger with the favourite ingredients you wish for. Depending on the mood you might have a funny combo in the end of the list. They have different meat and cheeses, tons of veggie options to put on the burger and things like roasted peppers, pineapple or cranberries - just go for it, mix and you'll see it taste's delicious! I always go with a burger in a bowl (big salad plate plus the meat and your chosen veggies)....wouldn't eat the bread anyhow as I am so addicted to their sweet potato fries (they are amazing, you should try them)! This place can't be boring :)

We grabbed dinner at The Counter where we ordered way more food than we should have. We shared a delicious shake - I think it was the Nutella + Salted Pretzel - and had Fries + Crispy Onion Strings + Sweet Potato Fries and a Build Your Own Burger.

With a ton of choices and toppings to create my own burger, I was super excited and overwhelmed. I started picking things that normally would not be paired together, and after re-choosing my burger combination a few times I just decided to just go with the cranberry turkey burger. The turkey burger was not too dry and didn't make me feel disgusting afterwards. The deep fried pickles were a nice side to share too. I saw that they had some upcoming vanilla bourbon ice cream sandwiches but was a little disappointed that they were not available yet. The free wifi made this joint an ideal spot to catch-up on social media while enjoying a casual lunch with friends, especially after a long night of drinking.

The idea of building your own burger appeals to me but I always panic when I see all the choices and pick a load of random bits to mix together! I'll never learn! There's a regular menu too if you aren't good at making quick decisions ;) the fries are really good too. The decor is nice and modern. Ok so I started writing this review while I was waiting on my order. When my order arrived I had forgotten that I'd ordered a chicken burger and suspect that if I'd ordered beef, my toppings would have complimented the meat better but there you go! It's all part of the fun of making your own meal ;) The Counter is great, just take your time building that burger ;)

Counter burger and sweet potato fries!

There is a lunch deal for €11.95 which includes any signature burger and a beer. I got the Counter Burger and a bottle of Moosehead. The burger was excellent, loved the crispy onion rings on the burger. There is also a varied choice of beers, the Moosehead was a refreshing accompaniment to the burger. My mates and myself shared a large portion of sweet potato fries which was enough for three people. I'm not normally a fan of sweet potatoes, but the fries were really good and came with a tasty dip. P.S. They also have pickle fries, first time I've seen them in Ireland...... Yum Yum!!

Best hamburger I've ever tasted and I chose all the ingredients!!

If you like burger, in this place you will feel like a child playing with Coca-Cola and Mentos. There are sooo many combinations that choosing your ingredients can be a tough challenge. If you don't want to think there are several menus and hamburgers but I found far more interesting to create your own "artwork". It's true that it takes a while and can be a bit annoying (especially if you have been drinking before...) but after all the sacrifice the reward is quite amazing. You can choose even the bread, the quality of the meat and the rest of the ingredients is great and the onions rings are the best I've ever taste out of home. I guarantee that I enjoyed every single second eating that monster :) The only weak point in my opinion is that after ordering it took long time until our burgers shown up and we all almost finished our pints at that time. I totally recommend this place!!!

Pros: - I dig the Alt Rock/Indie vibe of this place; great music and decor. - I got the Original Counter Burger but you can build your own burger or get one of their recommended options. It was amazingly juicy and hearty. Right balance of toppings and essentials. - You've gotta order chips separately but they are worth it. - I recommend getting the 1/3 lb burger rather than 1/2 because the former is big enough. Cons: - They only cook well done which isn't a problem for me but you might be one of "those" people.

Honestly it was near perfection... I got the 1/2 pound chicken burger, it was juicy. Covered it in feta and Irish aged cheddar cheese, hard boiled eggs, lettuce, coleslaw, crushed peanuts and smoked bacon. Getting to choose your own toppings is just the best part, with such a large selection you can just let your imagination run free. The sweet potato fries are also a must have so crispy and yum. Must complaints about the counter are about the long wait times up to 50 minutes, I was told it would take 25 and it arrived in 20 so I can't fault them, the staff were also friendly. Best burger I have ever had and is a must try if you are in Dublin!

Popped in here on a lunch-break last week, having been in here many times before and loving their almost infinite combinations of salady-burgery concoctions. It took a very long time to get the server's attention as they were all busy standing at the bar counter talking. An apt place to talk considering the restaurant name, I suppose. I had to approach one of the waitresses, despite being one of only three groups in there and there being 4 servers. The food took another age to arrive, and while my substantial and delicious turkey burger with feta and salad was amazing - I had to wolf it down to beat the band. I was 30 minutes late going back to work. TL;DR? food = fab, but his place is not cheap and you would definitely not want to be in a hurry.

It is believed that 'Temple Bar' street's name originated from 'Sir William Temple' from the 'Temple family (you can see the same on the outer wall of the pub) The most iconic pub in Dublin, the Temple Bar Pub, sits proudly on the corner of Temple Bar and Temple Lane South. With live music from 10:30 am every day, this is a pub with a party atmosphere all day long. I was amused at how many people popped in, snapped off a quick photo or a 30-second video, and then left without stopping for a drink. Then again, at €8 a pint, and it's one of the more expensive drinks in an already expensive city ( and I did the same in 2-3 pubs), and that's fine. Doesn't matter whether you wanna have food or drink here or not, but I would definitely recommend (in capital letters), have one drink here. Yes, it's expensive (just 3-4 euros more, come on), but the vibe, that's totally worth it. I truly believe, though, that if you're going to experience Dublin, then you can't leave without experiencing Temple Bar. I had like 4-5 drinks at different pubs, and though it's touristy and "trap"- I would come here again and again. No other place has a "temple bar pub ' vibe. There is always live music, the stage is rarely empty, and the diary is always full. The Temple Bar Pub is famed throughout Dublin for its lively, traditional Irish music scene. PS: don't get confused with Temple Bar at the end of every pub. Its neighborhood name (Temple bar neighborhood), and this pub is Temple Bar pub.

I went during my first trip to Dublin and not again until my boyfriend and I went to Dublin together. As it was his first visit, we had to go. The bar is always packed unless you arrive as soon as they open. It's not longer after opening time that it becomes a mad house well into the night. They've always got live music and proper Guinness pours (more $$ than elsewhere). So yeah, it's a tourist trap but it's also fun if you know what you're getting into and what to expect.
