    Ham and cheese toastie

Loose Cannon is a small but quaint natural wine shop right in the middle of the action in Dublin. It's located next to George's Street Arcade which is like a big hall with a bunch of vendors, making this the perfect place to stop before or after doing some shopping/sightseeing. As others have commented, this place is small and has limited seating inside. There's also a few tables located outside on the street and in the open air market of George's Street Arcade. I got lucky and snagged a seat as another party was leaving. It's first come first serve seating so I imagine, with a bigger party, it may be hard to grab a seat. One of the staff members helped me pick out a glass of wine that was PERFECT for me. He asked me what flavor profile I liked and picked out a beautiful effervescent, juicy, red. I also ordered a ham and cheese toastie which was the perfect snack to hold me over before dinner and the two paired well together. This place is definitely trendy and hip so the prices reflect that but I think it's worth the visit.

One of my favorite spots in Dublin! Small little shop with 3 types of grilled cheese, cheese and meat platters and wine. Not much seating but it's a walking street out front so on nice days you can enjoy outside.

Stopped by for a quick bite and a glass of wine during my visit to Dublin. A very small shop with not a ton of seating, but there's plenty of places outside to pop a squat. Staff is friendly and helped with wine suggestions that would pair well with a nice ham and cheese toasty. The toasty itself was really good- cheese was nice and creamy and the bread was toasted to perfection.

My friend and I stopped by Loose Cannon to buy a bottle of wine on our walk back from dinner to our hotel one night last week. Loose Cannon is a small natural wine shop that sells glasses of wine and wine by the bottle. When we stopped in it, it was packed with people enjoying wine. The vibes were fun, but it meant that we couldn't get to the bottles to figure out what our options were! Luckily, the staff at Loose Cannon was wonderful - we said we were looking for an Italian red, and they grabbed a few options for us, brought them back to the counter, and described the differences. We picked one and enjoyed it back at our hotel. Definitely a cool spot - with great options for wine!! Would definitely stop by all the time if I lived in Dublin!

Just finished our tour of the Irish Rock n Roll Museum and wanted to grab a quick bite as we walked back to our hotel. Do not miss this tiny treasure. Pop in for a delicious grilled cheese (toastie) and a glass of wine. We purchased the original (highly recommend) and the ham and cheese to go. Decadent and delicious!!

Perfectly toasted toastie sandwich, quality cheese, and a lovely béchamel. Friendly staff. Cozy nook with a good wine selection.

The toasties here were so good we had to get them twice... Loose Cannon has an incredible selection of wine as well as the most delicious toasties (paninis) I've ever had. They have cheese, béchamel, and the option of having with or without ham. Naturally we tried both and went back two days in a row. It's a small place so either order to-go, or try to go during off hours. We didn't get to try their selections of wines but it looked like a very broad collection. The service was also incredible. Usually there was only one person working- but it was quick and timely regardless. I would highly recommend this spot if you're visiting Dublin and need a delicious lunch or dinner!

Usually, the dining room comprises an underground hideaway that is quite sleek and intimate. However, due to the lockdown measures, we had to do outdoor seating directly on William Street while we were there. The experience was still beautiful, thanks to the surrounding scenery. The cocktails were grand between the P61 Signature Cocktail and the Hugo -- both prosecco-based cocktails. The former was delicious between the peach puree and prosecco, while the latter was a little more tart with the elderflower cordial. For dinner, we kicked things off with gluten-free bread with a trio of dips that were quite tasty. The Tortellini I ordered was exquisite and scrumptious with how it was prepared between the goat cheese, asparagus, red onion, wilted spinach, cream sauce, and bacon. I applauded this lovely dish with the last bite. I devoured the warm almond flour brownie for dessert, served with chocolate sauce and gelato, which my wife could also enjoy since the dish was gluten-free. Overall, Platform 61 was a great way to conclude our second Irish journey. We will return, especially to enjoy the underground dining area.

For starters it was some of the worst service I have ever encountered and certainly the worst service for a Michelin Bib Gourmand. For starters my server was ill acquainted with the menu. She had no idea what the cheese foam was other than it was served in a bowl. She brought a wrong starter and insisted I ordered it when I did not. I ordered my steak to be medium it came rare. By the time my main entree had arrived I was exhausted from dealing with this rude, combative and surly individual. The plate of still mooing meat didn't help. I just asked to take it home. Nope, she said we don't pack anything to go. I asked for the manager at that point who pack up my meal and I was finally free to escape from restaurant hell. As for the food, Bread, Cheese foam, Argentinian Steak, It was average and overpriced. And all the bread was easily day old. One and done. Spare yourself the one and just be done.

My first thought was "who comes to Dublin to go to a wine bar?" but my first thought was totally wrong. I absolutely loved La Cava! It's such a cozy intimate restaurant. It gave me lots of West Village (NYC) vibes. Be careful when looking for the restaurant because you can walk right by it, It's a little place right off of Grafton St. It's also located downstairs! Such a hidden gem! We did the 3-course pre-fixe. The burrata was amazing, so fresh! The service was excellent. You were given plenty of time to enjoy your food without being rushed for the next course. The duck was perfect, and the lamb was delicious. For the dessert, the creme brulee was grand. I can't think of a single bad thing to say about this restaurant. The prices were reasonable! I highly recommend having dinner here if you're in Dublin. Note, the restaurant is small, so you'll be sitting very close to other people. Personally, this didn't bother me, but some people might not love that. But be aware, that they don't accept AMEX!

Decided on the 2 course Prix Fixe. Chose the mussels and then the fish duo. Of course had to have wine. I honestly can't get enough of this place. Can't wait to return!!
