What a gem! Everything here is made fresh daily--you can truly taste the difference. The food is outstanding, the service is warm and attentive, and the portions are generous. It's a hidden treasure for anyone who loves authentic Italian cuisine. I stopped by during the early bird special and was impressed not just by the value, but by how perfectly located and cozy this place is. Highly recommended!

Fabulous restaurant in an old building that has the ambience and service and fabulous food!!' We had Caesar salads, bruschetta, and tagliatelle fruiti di Mari. It was full of seafood and flavor. Highly recommend.

We were seated promptly after being told of a long wait at another nearby establishment we were trying to get into which we probably on second thought should have waited for. We waited awhile for our server to take a drink order as it became clear she was overrun with the 9 tables she was doing. The drinks were all good and we ordered veg spring rolls (2) which came and were tasty with a nice sauce. My daughter had a classic pizza, I the caverns special chicken and my hubs the pasta with burrata. Then we waited again, and again, and again for the check. And again and again and again for the waitress to have a moment to bring the machine for the card. I did feel very badly for her she was doing her best. This place was the most expensive meal we had had in Dublin so far. Unfortunately the next day my husband was insanely sick all night and in the am, probably the burrata is my guess, either too rich or food poisoning.

would recommend this place for a date night, girls night out, or family dinner! the food was AMAZING!!!! we got the steak and the tagliatelle burrata as well as the spaghetti nduja and everything was delicious. huge shoutout for the service as well - they sat us even when we were waitlisted without a reservation and were super attentive and kind throughout the night. 20/10 would definitely come back.

Our waitress was extremely nice and the ambiance of course was very unique and cool. I ordered Maza with penne pasta at the waitresses suggestion and the steak was very tough and the pasta sauce was essentially brown gravy with a little extra black pepper. Definitely an interesting take on a pasta dish and seemed to be relevant to the area but not my favorite and my girlfriend was not incredibly impressed with her food either. I am not someone who is a wine snob, but there is a point in which wine does go bad and the glass of wine I ordered had probably been open for a good couple of weeks and was not drinkable. The price was very reasonable for the quantity of food.

OMG. Where do I even start... the ambiance in the bottom cavern is so intimate and such a great spot for a date. Right in the heart of the Temple bar district without feeling dirty or crowded. The food was absolutely amazing! We originally came for just a glass of wine and ended up staying for a bottle, appetizers, dinner and dessert to go! Highly recommend! 5 stars

I am giving this 5 stars for the food and service . The noise level here is very high but the food definitely makes up for that . The Tiramisu is probably some of the best I've ever had and the vegan bruschetta is excellent along with the mozzarella tomato salad . Top it off with an authentic Irish coffee that was also delicious ! We are definitely coming here again when in Dublin !

Great place for steak, it is listed as an Italian place, but they are good for steak as well. Great selection of red wines, staff is very attentive and they have this fish tanks built inside the table, which I thought it was different. The restaurant is located in the Temple bar area.

I went to La Caverna for a dinner date with my beau last week. He had made a reservation which we were very late for (had I known there was a reservation I would have been there on time as I am in the industry and know how annoying it is when people dont show or show late) We arrived there at about 9:30pm and was greated by a nice young man with menus in hand. Apart from us there was one other couple there enjoying a meal, but it was Tuesday night! The inside is quite nice, and I can imagine would have a nice atmosphere if it were more full of people. The tables have really cool little fish tanks sunk into them with a couple of tiny fish inside. There was nice music playing in the background, I can't quite remember what but it suited the mood for sure. We ordered a nice bottle of Valpolicella for the meal and it arrived after two glasses of iced tapwater which we didnt ask for but was appreciated. For starters we ordered the Chicken Wings and Calamari. I'm a huge calamari (and any fish) fan and these were delivered in a short time and were perectly cooked, placed on a bed of green salad with a beautiful lightly spiced tomato sauce for dipping. A winner for me-only complaint was there was not enough of them! I don't eat wings but after finishing my calamari so quickly I indulged in one or two, a good sized portion which my dining partner thoroughly enjoyed with a nice blue-cheese dressing. For main courses, we enjoyed a t-bone steak and a venison steak. Unfortunatley, despite the venison being cooked and served as I had requested the t-bone was more than slightly over cooked (we asked for meduim and got welldone). These were served with a side of garlic gratin potatoes which were delish and not a morsel left behind. We didnt stay for dessert as we were already late (not that we were being rushed because the staff respectfully gave us as much space and privacy as we could have asked for) but there were some cocktials to be had elsewhere. Would I recommend it as a great place to eat? Good but not great, but yes, worth venturing in to try it for yourself. I would however, recommend you avail of the early-bird menu as the pricing on there is more appropriate to the product. The days of charging €24 for a steak and over-cooking it are gone and on a table for two you could easily save yourself about €40!

Usually, the dining room comprises an underground hideaway that is quite sleek and intimate. However, due to the lockdown measures, we had to do outdoor seating directly on William Street while we were there. The experience was still beautiful, thanks to the surrounding scenery. The cocktails were grand between the P61 Signature Cocktail and the Hugo -- both prosecco-based cocktails. The former was delicious between the peach puree and prosecco, while the latter was a little more tart with the elderflower cordial. For dinner, we kicked things off with gluten-free bread with a trio of dips that were quite tasty. The Tortellini I ordered was exquisite and scrumptious with how it was prepared between the goat cheese, asparagus, red onion, wilted spinach, cream sauce, and bacon. I applauded this lovely dish with the last bite. I devoured the warm almond flour brownie for dessert, served with chocolate sauce and gelato, which my wife could also enjoy since the dish was gluten-free. Overall, Platform 61 was a great way to conclude our second Irish journey. We will return, especially to enjoy the underground dining area.
