It was raining and I was reluctant to leave my hotel for lunch but I made the right choice in walking to The Little Kitchen. I was treated to a fabulous three-course meal. It began with a warm goat cheese salad with pomegranate seeds and fresh greens in a light dressing. Delicious. The roasted chicken was spectacularly presented and delightful. I was disappointed. The reviews of Little Kitchen were so positive and while we enjoyed a nice meal here, it was not memorable or special. The space is close, but that's not uncommon in restaurants in Dublin. Frankly, I'm not sure it would be possible to put more tables or people in this space. My experience was that the staff were rushed, they felt stressed, and for me, this is a significant red flag. We enjoyed the appetizers, the Goats Cheese and super food salad and steamed Irish mussels. They were very tasty. The Filet of Cod was good, not great. Ditto the Pan Roasted Kitchen. But for me, it was the ambience that significantly affected my experience in not a positive way. read more

Feminine themed portraits and paintings of well known figures on the wall, including Marilyn Monroe. A small busy neighborhood restaurant, cozy and friendly atmosphere, great service and good food. The prices were moderate. We ordered: 3*Soup of the day: celeriac soup was light and good. 5*Tiger Prawn Risotto-Chilli, Roasted Red Peppers Soft Herbs and Parmesan: generous portion with lots of prawns. Fresh and tasty. 3*Chargrilled Pork Chop on the Bone-Hasselback New Baby Potatoes, Braised Savoy Cabbage, Leek and Mustard Sauce: very good gravy. Portion was big. Cabbage was tasty. Best meal I've had in Dublin so far. The spot is small, tucked away from the craziness of most tourists, and it is really cozy. I was solo and made a reservation with no problem. I ordered the short rib for my main course -- both the meat and the sides were phenomenal. I also got the apple crumble for dessert. It was the perfect level of sweet. After wandering over here late after work, we were almost disappointed as they said they were full. At the last second they said they could squeeze us in fitting 3 people in a 2 person table but we were grateful for the table! Absolutely Scrumptious!!! I had the pleasure of going for brunch a few weeks ago with a friend to The Little Kitchen on a raining Saturday afternoon. The food was amazing!! I'm still dreaming about the Baked shell pasta, crispy pancetta, grilled endive, bakes eggs with herbal crumble dish. Omg scrumptious! My friend got the Gratin of Donegal smoked haddock, spinach, potato, poached eggs, chives & crispy parmesan dish, which was just as delicious. The staff was lovely. An Intimate Dining Experience. Had a lovely three course meal September the 16th. The space is quite, "little" as the name implies. Two front of house staff. We had made reservations earlier and presented our Pandemic credentials. We had a lovely small table. Simple décor. Quite an interesting music selection played in the background. For starters I had the Little Kitchen Seafood Chowder and my wife had the Baked Brie, Wrapped in Parma Ham and Spring Pastry, Apple and Tomato Chutney. Hers was outstanding in its taste and texture. Mine was a light creamy chowder which was wonderful but not as wonderful as my wife's Brie. For mains I had the chef's special, an Herb Encrusted Hake with mint pea purée, spicy potatoes in tomato salsa which was done to perfection. My wife had Tiger Prawns Risotto, Chili, Garden Peas, Parmesan and Soft Herbs. While hers was good, my dish won the second round. For our desert course my wife had the Coconut and chocolate brownie, vanilla ice cream, while I had the Selection of cheeses, apple and mango chutney, crackers. Both were excellent so I will call it a draw. Service was in the background, the décor was elegant, the food was excellent and we had a wonderful time. Highly recommended. read more

Great addition to the neighbourhood! J and I had dinner here the other weekend with some friends and we thoroughly enjoyed our food. To start J had the prawn risotto and I went with the goat cheese salad. My salad was nice but the clear winner with the risotto. Excellent flavours and a sizeable serving of prawns. For mains I went with the cod and J selected the lamb. Again, my cod was pretty good but J's lamb was melt in your mouth delicious. Given the overly generous portion sizes for our starters and mains the four of us opted to share two desserts rather than go solo. The half baked chocolate cake was a soufflé of sorts and we all really enjoyed it. The fresh strawberry tart on the other hand was basically pie crust filled with berry yogurt and topped with strawberries. Pass. The atmosphere here is cute and cosy and we LOVE that it us BYOW. The service is attentive, the food well prepared and beautifully presented. Prices are very reasonable due to the distance from the touristy areas. Our group of five had the Sesame Seed crusted Salmon, braised short ribs, Risotto with Shrimp and Vegetable Polenta with a bottle and glass of wine plus dessert: total was $177. read more

Walking around Dublin looking for a late lunch and found the Little Kitchen. They were just about to close for a midday break but the host graciously let us in. Shared 3 small plates: orzo, risotto and feta/sweet potato. Delicious and fresh. Mains were the hake, butternut squash soup and pork/onion meatballs. Soup was rich and creamy, the hake cooked perfectly and the meatballs juicy. One small complaint - the sauce for the meatballs was too rich and creamy (and too much of it). Oh wow, wow wow wow. What a find! Despite many efforts over the past couple of years I have never managed to secure a table in the Vintage Kitchen, so when I heard it had a little sibling I set my sights here instead for a date night and was so so glad I did. From the cute décor to attentive staff to the byob policy, everything worked for me and I'm planning a return visit in the very near future. There are 2 nightly weekend seatings and as we had tickets for later in the evening we went for the 6:30pm slot. To start I had the prawn chilli risotto which was a very generous portion and stuffed with prawns. I often find you get 3 or 4 in this type of dish but they had mountains of them in this one, really flavoursome and just the right level of kick. He went for the link which came wrapped in a thin crisp ham and with mussels which he really enjoyed. For main I got pan fried cod which came with a potato hash, asparagus and caviar, which I haven had before and wont be bothering my arse with again, even if I'm bribed with a Bollinger accompaniment. Luckily this was served on a seashell not as a part of the main dish, the rest of which was lovely. He got lamb, which was a large cut on the bone and came with potato and veg, it was perfectly cooked and fell from the bone. We finished off with a shared dessert of strawberry tart and baileys coffees which were perfection. A total bill of €78 was icing on the cake! read more

This cosy little Ballsbridge gem is about as good as it gets. Warm, attentive service, interesting things to look at on the walls, delicious food. A win. We called last minute and scored a late seating. We brought a bottle over from the house (no cork fee) and had a two course menu. My first course--a chili, red pepper, prawn risotto--was out of this world. One of the best risottos I've ever had. Serious fangirl, here. My main was a generous helping of cod over flavorful veggies. I'm pretty sure my dining companion loved the food. He didn't look up and didn't even offer to share a bite of the lamb! In short, generous portions, genuine and friendly service, warm and cosy atmosphere. All that for a reasonable price in Dublin. I went there for the 2 for 1 brunch offer they had for one day and one day only- I was surprised to see very little people availing of this fantastic promotion but luckily i came across it on facebook. Myself and my friend were delightfully full leaving with more coins in our pocket- diffenteily got value for money. This place was lovely. A bit on the pricier side but given the taste, large portions, and excellent service - it was well worth it. For an appetizer, I got the pepper and shrimp risotto and it was AMAZING. It was very filling and I honestly could have just gotten that and been fine. My husband got the Cajun chowder and he was convinced his was better but he liked both dishes a lot. I got the cod and mussels for my main and everything was delicious again. Tried this place based on a friend's recommendation while home in Dublin for the holidays and it became one of the highlights. We were there for the Christmas menu and had the pork belly starter, the goats cheese starter, the hake and the lamb shank. Everything was delicious and presented well. We were with a a party of 8 and nobody was disappointed. I can't recall if they had a drinks menu but they don't charge corkage so we brought our own which was a nice touch. There's a shop beside it if you need to pick something up. It is a small place and seems to be gaining in popularity so you probably need a reservation. read more
