WOW. This was an incredible experience. I was in town for business and it was the birthday of my manager. We were able to secure a table and it was a fantastic celebration. Everything was impeccable. The service, the food, the atmosphere. I was ready to lick everything off the plates. It's a tasting menu and everything offered is impeccable. We had 8PM reservations and we were the last group to roll out at 11:30PM (no, we weren't pressured to leave, we realized no one else was around =P) Thank you for a wonderful meal and memorable time at your lovely establishment. I'll come back the next time I'm in town!

Mr. Fox is the best culinary experience I've had to date. Each course was a new experience of tasting flavor profiles that I had never tried before. The sommelier for the wine pairing was knowledgeable and fun to talk to. My friends brought a fox stuffed animal, and the staff thought it was funny and let us put it up on the wall (see picture). The ambiance was also great, as the restaurant is down below the street level hidden away, making it feel like a secret that only you know about. Unreal experience, I hope I get the chance to visit Dublin again someday just to go to Mr Fox! And I hope they get their Michelin star, they deserve it.

Mr Fox Dublin a Michelin Guide Restaurant chef: Andres Smith On my birthday away from home I decided to treat myself to dine with Mr Fox. It was a chill breezy Tuesday Nov 14 during Scorpio season in Dublin. Tucked underground and nestled in between 2 buildings pay attention to the 38 and follow the stairs. Music out of a modern version of Made Man / Bossa Nova to Reimagined songs from Diana Ross (My Endless Love) & the Weekend The crowd was few but the atmosphere was plenty. The 5 course meal at a more than affordable 86 euro was a dream. Sourdough bread Mushroom Sep butter Bread was a nice start with an incredibly soft core and crunchy crust which was a perfect base for the room temperature butter. I'm typically annoyed when the simple task of warming the bread feels like a chore but in this case it worked. I'm dry these days so skipped the alcohol and went for a strawberry spritzer. Initially not impressed as it's not made by a bartender but seemed rather poured out of some dispenser. Not overly sweet but kept my palette hydrated. After the bread we start with what's casually called snacks but there is nothing casual about this trio. Presentation to taste reviewed below: - [ ] Lobster with a puff cheese base on a thin cracker with salsa verde was perfect start. (Not pictured) - [ ] Beetroot with shaved cheese and a butter potato base was a wtf did I just eat moment. - [ ] The Fried dish that I can't recall the name of I believe was lobster. The mayo mix was sinfully amazing. Scallop Waldorf with candied walnut apple endive the secret to any dish is balance. Wow this was spot on a crunchy walnut crispy apple with sliced grapes. When someone slices grapes you know there was some thought and respect placed in front of you. Halibut | Green Curry | Squash | Mussels The plate come bare almost naked and is presented by the waiter slowly spooning the green curry basil sauce one at a time. The squash is presented as a small island inhabited by pumpkin seeds. Three mussels swimming in the green curry circle the star of the show. A perfectly cooked halibut. The halibut is swimming in something green...I think I have decided what I want to soak in to relax from now on. This basil curry sauce has a texture that either I can't describe or I'm being lazy with my English vocabulary aka the gummies are kicking in. It is silky softspicyfreshcreamy. Is that a thing? My biggest regret is not asking for more of the sourdough to sop up that saucey softspicyfreshcreamy sauce thing. If I were home I would have no issue using my finger to lick every drop of this. Seared king oyster with mushroom sauce also a hash brown. For us pescatarians II skipped the venison and bordelaise for this. The sauce was on the bit of salty side otherwise has a texture made by a professional but on the edge of a salty thickener. I enjoyed it but post halibut masterpiece it showed why this is a tough act to follow. (Not pictured) Coconut Grapefruit pineapple grenadine with a wafer. They are calling this a pre dessert folks. Call it a palette cleanser, a treat, a heavenly surprise it can be so many things it can be everything. One thing it is not is wrong. I now fundamentally will require a pre dessert everywhere I go. I'm officially spoiled! Thank you Mr Fox. I ordered tea so I can have some time to understand how blessed I am to have this experience and how everyone should share that blessing. Pettie fours pistachio financier and cherry and chocolate Jaffa cake passion 2 ways. The passion passion is a bite of passion that marries 2 textures of a crème nestled in a gelatin house. The Jaffa Cake is a wtf moment. I would come back for this alone. I typically require one wtf moment to have a 5 star. I seriously never think about multiple wtf moments as a possibility in one night. Tonight I had two. The host was a gentlemen that I can clearly see can be head of staff. My plates came out one after theHe returned my belongings stored safely in the lobby area. Be it an anniversary, business dinner, special occasion or a 40s something birthday, Mr Fox will make you happy. Highly recommended. If you actually read this in its entirety I kid you not... this is where you need to dine tonight.

The meal kit we got was superb so we booked a table to celebrate my birthday. They'd moved dining outside to their terrace. Everything about it was flawless!! Five course menu is €59 per person. Photographs don't really do it justice. Will 100% be back

(4.5 stars) Dinner here was a wonderful experience. I don't think the dishes were perfect, but the complexity and richness was definitely there. Even loved the bread and whipped mushroom butter to start. The chateaubriand steak was probably the highlight, beautifully pink throughout with very light seasoning where the meat and the sauce reduction were the stars. The cod and mussels bisque was beautiful light and fresh, the short rib felt slightly over-cooked because it didn't peel off the fork as easily as I had hoped but that could have just been the cut of meat and that sauce, potato, onion accompaniments were lovely additions to each bite. The risotto felt slight over-cooked as well, a tougher texture to the grain than I was expecting, but the dish was super savory and addicting.

The food was incredible and the service top notch. I enjoyed this meal as a solo diner and the staff made me feel very comfortable and well taken care of from the moment I arrived. The tuna starter was so insanely delicious, and all 5 courses were such a treat. I highly, highly recommend.

Maybe it was the warm (and busy) restaurant…read morestaff, or maybe it was the feel that there seemed to be mainly locals here (or a reasonable facsimile). The place was almost packed when we came in, with the only available table being a high and cozy one in the middle. However, one at the front soon opened up, which we grabbed. Folks still kept coming in, and even though they were short staffed, the new customers were sent to the upstairs dining room, and advised to order downstairs. Our Adult beverages consisted of an O'Hara Pale Ale and Red, Chardonnay and water among the 4 of us. 3 really good Tuna Melts were ordered plus a tasty New Yorker (Pastrami with sauerkraut, gherkins, cheese, rocket and mustard), and chips/fries for the table. A little coffee and tea ended the meal, and we were soon on our way. In the USA, a restaurant may ask a general question about food allergies, but in Ireland there are lots of codes designating this and that. Here's Brannigans list: ALLERGENS - 1 Gluten 2. Crustaceans 3. Eggs 4. Nuts 5. Soybeans 6. Milk 7. Celery 8. Mustard 9. Sesame Seeds 10. Mollusca 11. Lupin 12. Sulphur Dioxide 13. Fish 14. Peanuts. As an example, the Tuna Melt was 1, 3, 6, and 13, while the New Yorker was 1,3, and 6.

Food was good. Beer excellent. Prices reasonable. We ate on the second floor where it was quieter and easier to get the barkeeps attention. The live music was on the first floor so if you want to listen to that, stay there. Five stars is we'd go back again even if it were out of our way. No, but it's a solid four stars we'd eat there again with no complaints whatsoever.

The pub is unassuming from the exterior, at least given the classic architecture of the area...which is weird to say seeing as it is essentially a little castle! Once you walk through the arched doorway, you are in the thick of it from the beer garden to the two interior pub areas, which are distinctly different in vibe and energy! We popped into all areas, getting our pints and then enjoying them outside in the semi-covered beer garden! While we spent most of our time outdoors, we did experience the local music and group singalong inside, which was classic and almost storybook-esk! Servers were friendly and efficient. They constantly had a line, but made sure to speak to everyone and get those pints in hands as quick as possible! Overall, we absolutely loved The Brazen Head and would definitely recommend for those visiting Dublin!

Menu has a good selection of Irish dishes from seafood chowder up to lamb stew and pies. We ordered the potato soup, seafood chowder, 'banjo' burger with onion rings. The soups arrived first and the seafood chowder was loaded with huge pieces of fish, potatoes (not many) with a creamy rich base. Flavor was incredible and in itself a full meal. Served in a large crock style bowl. The potato soup was minus any whole potatoes. It was a rich creamy base with plenty of flavor and very hearty. The burger was really a double cheeseburger with plenty of cheese, grilled onions, what appeared to be a mayonnaise based sauce on a soft hamburger roll. Really tall enough that it was tough getting your mouth around it. Very well seasoned burgers and the onions were a nice touch. The onion rings were huge and had a very light batter on them. They served in a metal bowl to keep them hot. For dessert the apple crumble was ordered which was served in a large dish with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. This could have been warmer but still was good.. The 5 star rating is for the chowder as it outshone the rest of the meal although the burger was definitely a close second. Definitely will return to try other dishes when we come back to the city.

The meat and veggies were plentiful, the portion generous, and it was tasty enough but maybe on the bland side? It was served with a side of braised red cabbage which we really liked: sweet but not sour like pickled cabbage. And house-made brown stout bread, also very good. The wife had a Guinness and I, thinking it too cliché to order Guinness as a tourist in Ireland, tried a different stout whose name I've forgotten from the ample selection. But comparing the two, so much better! The menu offers a wide variety of traditional Irish dishes, more than most of the similar pubs in the area. As well as the other expected pub type food: sandwiches, burgers, etc. As for desserts, if we were hungrier, the wife might have ordered the Irish Whiskey Bread & Butter Pudding. The hubby would probably get his dessert later, as the selection was limited and neither that nor the Apple Crumble appealed. Sitting at the bar we had a more personalized experience than were we at a table. The bartender offered to take a photo of me behind the bar which I of course accepted. We made the right choice in coming here.

Though the patrons are packed in, the sound level was comfortable for conversation and tucked in the corner we had more room than most anyone else. The food was superb. There a Cajun influence to the chef's palate. The seafood chowder is a red chowder, a little spicy, and light. It's of course chock full of fish. The corn bread served with the soup is unique. I asked and the chef flavors the bread with Cajun spices. It's excellent. My wife chose the goats cheese salad. The pastry they held the salad and cheese was so delicate. Our entrees included the beef that melted in your mouth. It's served rare and it's totally tender. The sea bass was also excellent. It's served of the bone with mussels, brocholini in a curry based sauce. It was a very generous portion. The potatoes served with the dishes were great. My wife had a tawny port and I chose the cider-see pic. It was delicious and refreshing. We didn't enjoy dessert and so I can't comment. I highly recommend this place!
