Glazed ox cheek, fondant potato, parsnip, Roscoff onion, shiitake, Café de Paris

Had an EXCELLENT meal here the other night. Stopped in time for the early dinner menu (3 courses €42) and added both of the special small bites. That crab & kohlrabi tartlet was one of the single most flavorful bites I've ever had - completely mind blowing. The chef's attention to detail was unreal on every dish - char on the parsnips and onion, crunch on the dessert garnish, etc. Adding the two small bites was absolutely worth it. I also found the price to be very reasonable considering the quality (although the early dinner menu probably helps!). If I came back through town this would be one to consider a repeat visit for sure

I saw this restaurant in the Michelin and had to give it a try...it did not disappoint! The restaurant was elegantly decorated, and the food was well plated and the ingredients were high quality. I ordered a vegetable dish that was just under 20 euros, which was an amazing deal. It was filling and very good quality, especially for the price!

I came here by myself and grab the last table without a reservation. I noticed most folks arrived with a reservation so it is most likely needed if there is a larger party. They have the early bird menu for 2 courses or 3 courses ($28) all night on Sunday which is great. I got the three courses. Pretty good deal for 28 euro for a fine place. I also had a glass of mimosa for 9.5 euro. They don't have cocktails. Only mimosa and wines. I had the grilled mackerel with fennel for my starter and the fillet of cod for entree. Dessert is the chocolate brownie with a scoop of ice cream and sorbet. The grilled mackerel is too fishy and not recommended (thus, less one star). The fillet of cod was very good; so tender and light and soft. The chocolate brownie was served warm which is a plus because it taste so much better when it is warm. Pretty good foods and service. Recommended.

I went to Richmond last evening for their Tuesday Tasting menu and I just had to write another review because of it. It was amazing. Every single course was delicious. And it's hard to pick just one as a favourite: Chargrilled sweet corn Organic salmon Venison shoulder puff pie Slow cooked pig cheek Date pudding To describe the trimmings would take too long, but each dish was combined perfectly with what came with the main piece on the plate. I honestly cannot pick a favourite from the five. The wine they recommended went wonderfully with the whole meal also, Laxas Albarino (2014) After mentioning it was our anniversary they comped us a glass of bubbly each. How nice! The staff were very charming and service was prompt without being too quick between each course. I would highly recommend the Tuesday Tasting menu here at Richmond.

My friends picked this restaurant and I hadn't really had time to check the place out online (which I normally would do), so I didn't know what to expect. Walking in, I instantly felt comfortable. It's warm, inviting, cozy..and I was very pleased to find out that every tuesday they do a 5 course tasting menu here for a mere 30 euro. I eat just about everything, so I actually like the idea of not having to pick a dish of a menu for a change and tasting food I normally maybe wouldn't order. The food we got was just absolutely stunning and looked pretty as a picture! I'm not going to to describe everything we ate as this review will be endless (just have a look at my photos instead, a picture says a thousand words, right?), but I can tell you I enjoyed every course. I would give them all 5 stars, and an extra star for the homemade curry bread and homemade butter. I could have devoured a loaf of just that and would have been happy as larry. I would love to try their regular menu as well, but I will most certainly go back on a tuesday. They change the tasting menu each week, so it will be a complete new experience every time you go.

Been to Richmond twice now. Brunch and Dinner. Both times were excellent. Its pricey, but you can get the early bird of an evening 3 courses 25 euros which is pretty good! For Brunch I had an Egg / salsa combo which was amazing. For the Dinner I had Ox tongue croquettes for starters and a delicious burger for my main. Staff are friendly and its a funky restaurant all around.

Our group of three had dinner here earlier this month and everything from the wine to the last bite of panna cotta were excellent. The place has a lively and casual vibe with additional seating available upstairs. After ordering our wine we started with the scallops, oxtail croquette and the ham and rabbit terrine. My scallops were delicious and the oxtail croquette was very flavourful. Terrine is not for me but our friend loved it. For mains we had two orders of braised lamb neck fillet and the Monkfish special. The lamb was melt in your mouth and the monkfish was so buttery and delicious. Would definitely order again. To finish the evening we each ordered the cookies and cream panna cotta. It was sinfully tasty. Richmond delivers wonderful food with great service. Looking forward to our next visit!

The Richmond restaurant is a Dublin gem. I like that it's more of a 'neighborhood' restaurant and reminds me of similar spots/neighborhoods in San Francisco. The restaurant is casual and has a lively -yet not too noisy- buzz about it. The intimate lower space is ideal for groups of two to eight. There's also a dining area upstairs that would be great for a private party or larger groups. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. And, the eats... yes, the eats: Above all, the food is remarkable. I keep revisiting the mushroom risotto with the parmesan crisps. Wow - a fabulous starter! And then the seared gnocchi is amazing! Mine had butternut squash and pine nuts and boy was it memorable! Our group of four shared a reasonably priced bottle of Pinot Grigio and everyone was happy with their meals. We skipped dessert as we were sufficiently filled and satisfied. And, better yet, we were able to take advantage of the 'early bird' special which actually is available throughout the evening. I believe Wednesdays and Thursdays are the 'golden ticket' days! And, what a great deal - starter and main course for 22 euro! Our check/bill came with a cool blue-hued postcard of a neighborhood storefront graphic - love it! 120 Euro for four people and that included a bottle of wine, starters and main courses for everyone. The evening was 'Rich' with offerings and the overall ambiance is worthy of five stars. As long as it's around and still offering this great quality - hopefully indefinitely - we'll be revisiting this neighborhood gem.

Our visiting clan from the US walked into Richmond's on a whim after reading the Yelp reviews. It was located around the corner from our rental unit. The mood was perfect, music not too loud, and the wait staff very friendly and accommodating - especially since we asked for changes from the standard menu. They also pointed us at a local Italian food vendor after a discussion on creamy balsamic vinegar! The food was somewhere between extremely good and exceptional. About the only nit was the burger being too done - but it appears this is the way they are cooked in Ireland. All in all, a very enjoyable evening. Highly recommended. I look forward to coming back in the future!

Definite contender for best brunch in Dublin! I'd been looking forward to visiting Richmond for a long time but kept getting scuppered by circumstances and flakey friends (booo). Sunday was finally the day and it couldn't have worked out better. Things I loved: - The space itself - once you come through the entrance, the heavy, almost theatrical velvet curtains are drawn behind you, and it's all diffused lighting, comfy seating, and dark, rich colours. It's the type of place you could wile away hours upon hours in. - Mimosas served in coupe glasses. Break from the norm and a touch of elegance. - The food. Wow. Every single thing that was presented to the table was excellent. From the criiissppyyyy bacon to the simple Eggs Florentine, and the star of the show in my eyes, the fish gratin. I was absolutely stuffed to the gills (pun intented) afterwards and couldn't even manage desert which I'll have to prioritise next time I'm there. - Finally, service. I had a few enquiries prior to heading along and Russell the manager called and left a detailed message on my phone as well as emailing me, which was a really nice touch. In there, the service struck that perfect balance between friendly and professional. As good as it gets. Can't wait to go back.

The authentic Victorian setting, the Victorian mahogany fittings, the mosaic marble tiled floors and granite tabletops, the mahogany bar, capped with red Connemara marble, follows the classic Victorian architectural pattern. The staff are helpful, friendly and patient since their accent is hard to understand sometime. My 1st beer and 1st Irish food, all I can say is what a meal, just simple delish. Being here is just a wondrous experience, the place is cosy, warm and the friendly of the people. So glad I picked this place as my first of Dublin.

Tucked down Dame Court just off Dame Street, The Stag's Head is one of those rare pubs that feels genuinely historic rather than designed to look old. The building dates to the late 1800s, and the interior retains the ornate features of a classic Victorian "gin palace"--rich carved wood, stained glass, brass rails, and a warm, glowing bar that feels wonderfully preserved. We stopped in around 4:30 pm, which turned out to be a perfect time to visit. There were other patrons enjoying drinks and food, but the atmosphere was calm and relaxed rather than loud or rowdy. It felt like the kind of place where locals drop in for a quiet pint on their way home from work before the evening crowd arrives. The staff were excellent--friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. The food was very good (we failed to take photos because we were too busy enjoying it). As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to see the Impossible burger front and center on their menu; it was deliciously prepared with guacamole on a brioche bun, and not an afterthought on the menu. My companions both chose the Irish Beef Burger, and said it was excellent. One thing to know: this is a traditional Victorian pub, so cocktails aren't really part of the program. Expect beer, wine, or spirits rather than mixed drinks. In a place like this, that actually feels exactly right. Other pubs do serve mixed drinks. Between the history, the ambience, the quality of the food, and the wonderful staff, The Stag's Head is the kind of place that makes you feel like you've experienced a real piece of Dublin.

The meat and veggies were plentiful, the portion generous, and it was tasty enough but maybe on the bland side? It was served with a side of braised red cabbage which we really liked: sweet but not sour like pickled cabbage. And house-made brown stout bread, also very good. The wife had a Guinness and I, thinking it too cliché to order Guinness as a tourist in Ireland, tried a different stout whose name I've forgotten from the ample selection. But comparing the two, so much better! The menu offers a wide variety of traditional Irish dishes, more than most of the similar pubs in the area. As well as the other expected pub type food: sandwiches, burgers, etc. As for desserts, if we were hungrier, the wife might have ordered the Irish Whiskey Bread & Butter Pudding. The hubby would probably get his dessert later, as the selection was limited and neither that nor the Apple Crumble appealed. Sitting at the bar we had a more personalized experience than were we at a table. The bartender offered to take a photo of me behind the bar which I of course accepted. We made the right choice in coming here.
