Where has this pharmacy been all my life? I was referred to Triad by my veterinarian, after they repeatedly did not have my dog's heart failure medicine in stock when I needed it. After my vet realized how unpredictable their own supply was, they finally informed me I could order directly from a supplier of theirs; Triad Compounding Pharmacy. They also mentioned I would potentially save some money too. Boy were they right, because I used to pay $106 for a one month supply and now I pay $74 (WITH shipping to my door!). My first encounter when speaking to the owner Ron Miller on the phone was exceptional! I immediately knew I'd be in good hands. What I also didn't realize was they automatically coat my dog's medicine with flavoring so she'll take it right from my hand and gobble it up like a treat! This is a huge time saver because with her former pill, no matter how I'd wrap it up she would somehow spit it up when I wasn't looking. She's a sneak! Short version: Dr. Miller at Triad provides excellent customer service and got us the medication we were having a hard time finding. Detailed version: We were left in the lurch by our veterinarian's office who didn't communicate to us that they didn't have our cat's medication in stock. After calling several vets and human pharmacies, the VCA Los Altos clinic suggested we call Triad because it's the supplier for a lot of practices. Dr. Miller answered our call right away (what a relief after being on hold at so many other places that morning) and knew instantly that he could fulfill our order that day. Our regular vet called in the prescription, Dr. Miller at Triad called us back to confirm our medication format preference, and the problem was solved within the hour. Picking up from Triad was quicker than most trips to the busy vet's office! Dr. Miller was so easy to work with that we're going to let our regular vet's office know what a great transaction this was. Wow, customer service isn't dead! Been buying my 19 yr old kitty's meds here for 7-8 months. When the RX runs out, they call, they handle everything, they check with the vet, it's great! Saves me tons of time on the phone. But the best thing yet: this last batch of liquid medicine came with the wrong flavor. I left a message late at night (because now my cat won't take it!), and no one called me back. But today, a whole new batch of corrected meds was delivered, no charge, no muss, no fuss. When I called to thank them, the person apologized profusely for the error and not calling, and said they were supposed to call me yesterday, but they had 2 people out. I'm telling you, I thought caring about customers was dead, but it's alive and well here! I would trust them with anything! read more

I want to give a BIG thanks and appreciation to Ron. I had a prescription for an appetite simulator for my 16-year-old cat. The vet that wrote up the prescription wrote it up incomplete. Ron walked me through it and told me exactly what was needed and the prescription was completed after numerous calls to the vet. As it turned out our cat was failing quickly and we made the hard decision to take him to another vet to be put to sleep. Prior to going to this vet I contacted Ron to see if the compound had been made. It had Ron said don't worry about it and gave his condolences. We stopped by Triad Compounding Pharmacy today to pick up a special prescription for my cat that had to be compounded. The faciilty is spotlessly clean and the staff I dealt with was professional and friendly. They walked us through exactly how to use and store the medication and even sent us home with an ice pack to make sure it stayed cold since we had a couple of other errands on our list. To be honest, I really had no idea what a compounding pharmacy was until earlier today. What they do is blend custom medication mixes, such as weight specific doses, special flavoring, or other unique needs. I noticed that they have some special items for anti-aging as well, so I think I'll be making a trip back there once kitty is well again. They will ship right to you, as well. read more

I became a customer of this pharmacy after my doctor told me it was time for hormone replacement and she recommended Triad pharmacy for a compounded version. A specific mix of what I need all in one pill. It is not local to me, but I found out I can order by phone and have it mailed which makes it all very easy. They are EXTREMELY helpful at Triad. Every time I have called the experience is beyond pleasant. It sounds like a small thing, but it seems lately the art of customer service has vanished...but not here. I did not get to use their pharmacy because their customer service was way too informal for my taste and I felt that it was borderline disrespectful. I mean, they keep leaving messages on my phone and when I call them, the first thing I hear after I explain the reason for my call is "who are you?" Is there no better way to ask a client for their personal information? Then, the guy seems to have a kick about the fact that I was sent there by a veterinary cardiologist, and kept repeating it like it was the funniest thing in the world. Bet you that when I start spending $100 a month in another pharmacy, he will stop laughing. These and other such direct responses made me feel that it won't work for me. read more

I've probably been using Triad for over 15 years now. I'm sorry to say it didn't occur to me to review them until today. No matter where you are getting your compounded prescriptions, I would tell you to switch to Triad! Ron, the pharmacist/owner, is so courteous and helpful, it's extraordinary. My cat needed to have a compounded version of kitty prozac to rub on his ear. My vet at VCA Miller used to recommend Triad for my other older kitties when they needed compounded antibiotics, but for some reason she switched me to American Health Solutions. They were more expensive, took 10 days to fill my prescription, everyone from the pharmacist to the clerks are unnecessarily rude, told me I needed to buy finger cots to apply the medication and charged me extra for delivery! I insisted that my prescription be switched to Triad. Thank God! My prescription was delivered in a day, cheaper than the other pharmacy, and without asking, Ron added finger cots for me to use to apply my cat's medication. I know that seems like a small thing, but simple courtesy and generosity go a long way. As a customer and a patient, I feel very well cared for. There was a slight delay in delivery, but Ron was right on the case, tracking down my package, even offering to send another refill for FREE the next day if my prescription didn't come. The customer service here is absolutely amazing. I needed something to entice my cat to take her medicine because the vet gave me a bubblegum smelling liquid. Every cat's favorite flavor, right? I called Triad to see if they could do anything about it and Ron told me to come in and they would add some liquid to make it smell like fish. As a volunteer in animal rescue, I take care of foster animals and was recently referred to Triad for compounded chlorambucil (a chemo drug aka, leukeran). The cat needing the drug was very sick and when the prescription was ordered, Triad was accommodating in getting the first prescription filled and shipped quickly. I've since called with a question and separately ordered a refill. They were very responsive and efficient in both cases. I am new to Triad, but am now a convert! I have been getting my bioidenticals at another well known compounding pharmacy near my home for a few years. I recently began seeing a different Dr and was mentioning how much I was paying for my three separate prescriptions, the Dr informed me that I can get all three mixed into one compound for for a third of what I was paying individually! There was some confusion about the Dr calling the prescription in, but Ron straightened it out and my prescription was on its way. I was also pleased with the container/applicator that Ron uses, so much better than the method my other pharmacy was using. I found Ron and the other gentleman I spoke with on the phone to be very helpful and pleasant.
