The location is huge but the parking lot is always packed with shopping carts everywhere. Recently, they remodeled the location where the entrance into the store requires you to go to a turnstile. Customer service and Ice Box is located on the left near the exit. Recently I noticed they're now having a limited selection of Disney merchandise in the jewelry section. Perfect for saving some money on souvenirs before heading to the park. This location has a Photo dept that is still great for printing out photos. The garden section towards the far left side of the store going towards the kids section is generally where they have lots of clearance items; garden items; outdoor items; and seasonal items. read more

Rhea the bakery manager at Cerritos Walmart was a great help to me this week. I am planning a company picnic and needed over 250 of the delicious Walmart .84 cent mini pies. I called 4 other Walmarts but they all said that they couldn't accommodate my request to fill this big order. I didn't give up and luckily I found Rhea who was heaven sent and was friendly, and intelligent in executing my request. She took the time away from her daily tasks to sale me these yummy mini pies! I came here for convenience and left questioning society. Truly, someone should do a sociological study on how Walmart manages to bring together the most eclectic cross-section of humanity--and not in a National Geographic kind of way. No offense, since I was there too, though I'm hoping to remain a control variable in that experiment. The customer service was... theoretical. The cashier seemed more focused on clocking out for lunch than checking anyone in with a smile. Her lane was technically "closed," but so was her enthusiasm for human interaction. The self-checkout machines don't even take Apple Pay. Did I teleport back to 1999? The produce aisle was equally inspiring--if you're into carrots that are packed in soggy bags. Outside, a police car idled by the entrance. Maybe it was for "added security," or maybe just moral support. Hard to tell. Either way, it didn't exactly scream "shop here again soon." I was on extra alert thinking I might get robbed. Next time, I'll take my business to Trader Joe's or Petco--even if it mean spending a bit more money. read more

I am appalled at the degradation in customer service at Walmart. I used to spend $300 per week in Cerritos, but now only go occasionally for items I can't find elsewhere because of the poor customer service and the amount of merchandise that is locked up. I don't buy anything that is locked up. Several times, I had the experience of buying a lot of groceries and the cashier did not want to bag my purchases for me. This should be standard service in any grocery store because there is a right way to bag groceries to avoid damage. I read the policy now is for customers to bag their own items and I find this appalling. If Walmart expects me to bag my own items after spending hundreds of dollars in their store, then I will stop shopping at Walmart completely and I think everyone else should demand better service. When your in a hurry on lunch hour to grab something and need something for lunch as well it's easy to stop by the deli and grab a snack. I got a tender and wedges because the mashed potatoes looked hard and dry. My food tasted decent for a price. Wished the mashed potatoes would have been fresh because I love them with the white gravy. The buffalo ranch sauce I chose also wasn't very good. read more

This is EASILY one of the WORST stores ever! No exaggeration at all here! First, there's NO MANAGER. All you gotta do is call and ask to speak to the head store manager and you will be told he's NEVER THERE! Call back 30 days in a row and he's NEVER THERE! So, that's the reason the store is so bad. Zero manager, and next to zero dollars are what the workers are paid. So of course, nothing gets done. All morning long, they have large pallets in half of the aisles. Restocking. The workers don't want you in their way. So, you don't get to buy anything from where they are working. If I see pallets stacked in a particular aisle, I have learned not to even bother trying. Do without! If you were to let your toddler walk loose, they could easily be injured or even killed by one of these restocking workers. They race around with heavy steel pallet jacks that weight several hundred pounds, more than enough to kill a small child if they are hit by one. Restocking should be done at NIGHT, when there are no customers in the store. Common sense! Not just pallets and jacks are racing about. But, order-pickers too! They push smaller carts, but they are in a hurry and you need to stay out of their way, or they will hit you. There are lots of them and it's like dodging traffic on the freeway! There are so many pallets sitting at the front of the store, near the produce, that there's NO WAY you can get a shopping cart through there. Who would make a store like this? Pallets everywhere you look? Insane! You absolutely do not belong in this store while restocking is taking place! But, there's no manager, so nobody notices or cares! Do NOT buy Marketside food items, like I used to. Two of the items that I would eat were removed for LISTERIA contamination! There's more listeria coming soon and you can't predict which item will be next. People DIE from this, so it's definitely no joke at all. Look it up! Walmart and Listeria! See for yourself. The prices are TRIPLE. Here's how I know this. The coffee I buy was $12+. Then, it dropped to $7, because nobody was buying it. That means the store pays $5 for the coffee and sells it for almost TRIPLE what it costs them. There are no "low everyday prices", like they try to claim. Triple prices, are what you really get. The Chinese merchandise is just absolute TRASH. Most of what you find at Walmart comes from China and it's as cheaply made as it can possibly be. A 60-day clothing item is certainly no bargain. There's an anti-theft gate in the front, but it never works. It should be locked open, so it doesn't alarm every time you walk through. But, nobody cares and there's no manager to notice this. The merchandise on the top shelves is not reachable. Again, not a single person notices or cares! Everyone in Walmart is just rushing to get their work done, so they can go home. Not one single person thinks about anything. They simply stack the items on the existing shelves and if you can't reach them, then just buy something else! Or, go without! The self-checkout machines often stop, because they assume you are stealing, when you are not. A worker needs to come over and reset the fault, so you can continue. When you buy the last item, it takes DAYS for them to get more. Even though they should be tracking what is bought and how many are left. Remember, NO MANAGER! So, nothing gets checked and that is why inventory is allowed to run completely out. I went as far as to call the Bentonville corporate office about problems. But, the corporate office is as bad as this store is! They can't be bothered. If you don't like our store, then just go somewhere else, is their attitude. Here's the final straw! One crazy woman came over and was ready to assault me, for sorting through potatoes and avoiding the moldy ones! She used her radio to get backup and was ready to start a fight and injure me! OVER MOLDY PRODUCE! Apparently, she has no idea that some produce has mold and she just assumed I was trying to steal something! Then, she tells me how she's been there for decades and in all that time, she still has not figured out that potatoes sometimes have mold on them! Absolutely CRAZY! My god, this is just an all-around lousy store! I really don't know how the hell they even manage to stay in business! Now, there are some dedicated workers there, who try their best to do everything right in their departments. Some areas of the store are fine. But, can you really blame anyone for not giving it their all? They are paid NOTHING! My god, they are fired if they try to use a sick day! I feel sorry for the poor employees. I really do. The way the employees are mistreated only makes me resent this store even more! Overall, this is just a miserable shopping experience! You really gotta be both highly tolerant and completely desperate to use this store on a regular basis! My god, I don't why I even put up with this trash store! 6/11/23 Ok folks, we're definitely in the 'hood...when the guy who answers the button you just pressed for service is of questionable hygiene practices and is upset that you woke him up to do his job. He sloths his way to you by dragging one heel at a time. No "Hello, how do you do" but says, "What do you want?" In a short irritated tone. He opens the case and I asked if that's the only one left because it looks like it was already opened prior & it's all taped up. And he asks my husband-looking annoyed/"Do you want it? you can touch it but you can't open it" w/ a serious demeanor....as if we would actually do just that. He said, its just the "exterior" and it's probably "ok". I'm leaning towards NOT purchasing it but hubby insists he's going to buy it anyway. And it doesn't end there, he proceeded to take us to the longest line there is. What a croc! I'm writing this review as I wait in line and I must've aged 10 years. I reached out to another employee while in line & he explained that we could've gone to another line & just inform there which cashier our item is located. That would've been helpful information 15-20 minutes ago!! Argh!!! Hubby went & looked for a supervisor & he said that this employee was supposed to ring it up at the electronics department. The supervisor informed my husband that he will talk to the employee. At the very least, when it was my turn to pay the cashier & I told her about the incident, she sincerely apologized & she did say IT IS the longest line. Hence the 2nd star. We avoided going to the Long Beach Towne Center Walmart because we thought we'd be better off at Cerritos. Use self checkout only..... Today I thought of using the cashier line, bad idea!!! The girl scanning my items double scanned 5 of the nine items! The worst part was she double scanned a meat item that was $12 and she forgot to remove it. From now on, I will only use the self checkout and limit my item purchases to ten items. The other item that bothered me was she charged me $2.70 /Hass avocado each . She scanned it as a tropical avocado. The avocado had a price sticker and chose to scan her price sheet instead. Overall watch and listen to the beeps as they scan. Use self checkout if possible, count your items purchased and match to your receipt. read more

What can I say, who does't know Walmart. Also, who does not love a deal. Walmart is a great discount retailer where you can find pretty much most things you may need. Very convenient and a great way to save money with the pace of everything going up with inflation. I have not been to this location for many, many years. But it looks like they remodeled this location. The bathrooms are really nice now, inside is clean and is their large typical footprint. The reason we made the trip is my wife wanted some peep plush only available online to pick up from this location. She was so happy to get it. To pick something up online, it is super easy, in the app, select you have arrived, tell them the spot number you in and they bring it to your car in less than 30 seconds, great service. But of course as we were there she found some giant Peeps not available local to us, so of course had to buy a blue one and a yellow one. So soft and cute. I myself found some habanero sauce that I really like "Yellow Bird" it has very nice amount of spice, only need a small amount, but if you really want to turn up the heat, add a lot and really spice up your life. The great thing about this sauce is that is very low sodium compared to most hot sauce out there, only 40 mg of sodium per TSP. So a great find, even better, these were on sale for only .25 cents each. So I grabbed a bunch. Whether you need groceries, cleaning supplies, home goods, garden, etc. you will probably find it at Walmart. Enjoy! read more

Just had my first bad experience at this walmart. The cashier Carol in garden was extremely rude. She disrespected myself and my daughter and refused to check us out and went to a different register to attend others. We called management and the manager had to check us out. The lady was still talking disrespectful to us while checking other people out. She had to ask her employee to have her back when that employee had nothing to do with the situation. I love this Walmart! I come here very often and I love how the lines are never too long, all the self-check out lines are always open. All the employees are super friendly and everything is very organized and neat and very easy to find. I often do the curbside pickup option as well because it's helps me get my things quickly and it also stops me from over spending because once I step foot in the store I'm buying way more than what I came for. Returns are also very easy at this location, and parking isn't too bad because it's a large parking lot. 5 stars for this Walmart because it rocks. read more

I came here for a product to kill moths that came in Purina dog food from PetSmart. I bought a box of sticky tape that attracts moths and they can't get away. I sure hope it works. I only saw 4 moths, but I don't want more. Nice selection to choose from for insects and rodents. read more

My prior experiences at Walmart have been acceptable as I usually zip in and out using self-checkout. My mistake yesterday (Saturday afternoon) was wanting to impulse buy something in the makeup section. The item I wanted to purchase needed to be unlocked by an employee. There were 3 employees standing around engrossed in conversation with each other. They were not helping any other customers to my knowledge. When I asked for help one shooed at me as I tried to show her what I wanted to buy. After she impatiently unlocked the item and brought it back to the checkout counter, one set my item off to the side as the 3 of them continued to chit chat with their backs turned to me and acting like I didn't exist. I left without purchasing anything. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've encountered in a while. Avoid buying makeup items here that would require "assistance" from an employee to unlock items for you. Save yourself the hassle of feeling belittled and disregarded by rude employees. This review is focused on the Vision Center inside the Cerritos Walmart Supercenter. I needed a nosepad for my glasses (that were purchased at a pricey optometry store) and I saw online that they sold them at this store. I was having trouble finding them but was referred to the Vision Center. I was greeted immediately by several young ladies who proceeded to try and find a set that would fit my glasses. After checking their stock it appeared that I was out of luck. Nothing in stock would work. Just as I was about to walk away, one of the customer service representatives asked to see my glasses again. She took them into the workshop area and was eventually able to find a random nosepad that worked! I was most appreciative and asked how much the service and replacement cost. The young lady said no charge, and said my offer of a tip was not necessary. I was blown away by this simple act of kindness and phenomenal customer service. I understand that Walmart doesn't have the highest expectation for customer service, but that being said, I don't think it is unreasonable for me to expect that the staff is knowledgeable about their store, or at the very least, polite enough to point us in the proper direction or tell us that they aren't super sure. I've come to this Walmart a handful of times (typically for the no contact pick-up they have!), but today I went down into the store to look for a few items that I needed. I was looking for a paper hand fan, and a staff member by the name of Marcos was walking by. I had tried to ask him as he was walking by me, but he literally just looked at me while he kept walking then proceeded to pretend that he didn't hear me. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt, but we literally made eye contact as he was passing me. Walmart has good deals for pretty much everything under the sun, so business as normal in that department. I'm not sure if this one is a newer Walmart, but I've only been to one other Walmart (in Burbank) and this one was much nicer. It's HUGE. It's clean. The workers were actually helpful. We were finishing up our shopping heading to the register and this older Hispanic female employee kept a following us harassing us telling us it closing time. While we were walking toward the registers my 3 year old wanted to look at the hot wheels for 1 second. The lady came to us aggressively and said it's closing. But there were 3 other people literally walking the opposite way not toward registers or exit and still shopping. She never told them it's closing or harassed them, they were Hispanic, she was Hispanic. We are Asian. I'm not saying it was racism , but let's say 1+1 = 2. I wish I could have gotten her name to report her but she was so aggressive and strange we just wanted out kept heading toward registers and the exit. Wierdos. That lady needs to be fired. read more

Their prices are the best, but now their quality is very poor nd it fits the cheap prices, the frozen food is sometimes freezer burned, (chicken) mainly...the have been taking my money every month, delivering my groceries by the shopper, but charging me for shipping to ship my cereal, my cooking spray, my super glue, just simple items that should be on the shelf !!! I've reported them to the BBB and they have lots nd lots of formal complaints from local customers, like myself. They NEVER respond, so now they are not even registered with the BBB because they don't help to finish the complaint, so BBB can clear their files, I've filed my complaints anyway, incase the rich dude begins to give a damn since we locals made him as rich as he is !!! I was at this Walmart about 830 at night of a Sunday A few days ago. There were two long lines to check out with a cashier, out of 14 registers. Of course the line was long over at the self check out. This is beginning to be a stereotype for Walmarts. I think the manager who runs the joint should learn and be motivated to be better than the other Walmarts so that the Cerritos store have no long lines thus making the customer a little happier. You're always going to get your typecasting of shoppers in every Walmart, but at least let's have the employees and the management be top shelf and better than the next Walmart near by. read more
