This would've been higher-rated review because it's Aldi and all, but all too often the cashier errors while scanning and I end up paying more than I should. Today was the 2nd time in a row where I buy 2 cans of cat food and they charge me for 3. They're zippy quick when scanning, when I'm still putting my groceries from the cart onto the belt, so I don't catch the mistake the moment it happens. There are other stores closer to me that - even though aren't as cheap as Aldi - have the option of using self-checkout or go the old-fashioned way of checking out with a cashier that isn't as prone to screwing up. So to me having that guaranteed accurate checkout experience is looking more appealing then going the extra driving distance to Aldi to save a few pennies - only to give it back from a checkout error. read more

I come to Aldi quite often to shop. I usually stop by to buy their avocado and eggs because they are cheaper than others places I visit. General, I would say that Aldi has a limited slection of items, so if you are looking for a super specific item, they may not carry it. There usually is one check out line open at a time, but if the one open line get too long, then they usually open up another line. read more

I hate grocery shopping but let me tell you something... My first ALDI experience was a good one. In a world where prices are higher and quality of food is lower, I've been interested to give Aldi a try because I kept hearing good things. Word of mouth is the best marketing. I was initially confused about needing a quarter to unlock the use of a cart, but don't worry. You get the quarter back once you're done with the cart. Not sure if this is to prevent cart theft, but as a former employee in the grocery business, I did not mind what some may consider a minor inconvenience. The store itself was a breath of fresh air. My point of emphasis was grabbing some produce, some snacks, and the meat section. The produce is right when you walk into the market and I was very pleased with the prices and quality. I ended up getting some raspberries, blueberries, and some greens. I also ended up in their frozen section, where they had to burritos that I absolutely need to go back and get more of. A lot of their products are generic brand from Aldi but they have many products that don't have extra ingredients (if you're someone who really watches what they're putting in our food). There was one lane open when it was time to pay, but when the line backed up they were quick to have another cashier open a lane. Customers also bag their own groceries so make sure to bring your reusable bags! We have been conditioned to shop at the big chain stores but if you're looking to save some bucks on specific items I'd recommend shopping here. read more

1st time to this Aldi and I just came in for a few things. Everything in the store was fine (layout, cleanliness, etc...), however, didn't care for the poor customer service. I mentioned to the cashier that I needed a bag and once she conducted my transaction, I stood there waiting for my bag and asked her for it, and she claimed that she did not hear me (after she initially asked and I said yes). So she proceeds to charge me .13 for a paper bag and all I had on me was a 20.00 bill (I wasn't gonna charge .13 to my credit nor debit cards). She asked me if I had a quarter and I told her nope, if I had a quarter I would have gotten a basket! Such ridiculousness! I was polite to her (as she was to me), but for goodness sakes, just give me the bag without making it a big deal! Mental note: don't forget your reusable bags while shopping at Aldi's! read more

I've always liked the prices of all the ALDI stores. This location was good. Everything was stocked and organized. Not sure if this should count as a reflection on the store or just people in the area, but a lady let us go before her since we only had a couple items and she had a cart load of groceries. While paying I had 3 receipts with items from my other transactions all over the place!! Meanwhile trying to bag the order she kept throwing everything inside the cart, hitting my arm. Aldi is smaller than the usual grocery store but that also means that it is less crowded than the big stores. In these days of post pandemic and recommended physical distance , I think that's a definite advantage. Fresh produce with a lot of organic choices. Got cabbage , 10 pound bag of potatoes, Gala apples. Prices are reasonable and some are a better deal even than those warehouse stores or major grocery chains. The first aisle is chocolate and wines - essential in my household! I like getting the German made chocolate here especially the strawberry yogurt and sea salt caramels. Whole chicken was $0.79 per pound- I got two and butchered them at home for freezing in smaller portions. Also got tofu, Monterey Jack cheese, bagged all purpose flour and sugar. Organic milk and eggs also a good buy here. They had Starbucks cold brew for less than $5/bottle - that's about 4 medium sized drinks for the price of one drive through beverage! The quarter coin needed to get a cart is offered from inside if you don't have it. The last time I was here, someone passed their cart to me since I had no quarters. I make a point of passing the cart again to another shopper as a "pass it on" act of kindness. Clean store and helpful people at checkout. read more

I was in the store today waiting for my wife, and I was somehow profiled as a shoplifter. The girl came up to me and ask me if I still had the food that I had in my possession. I told her no, she said on the cameras they saw that I had food in my hand and now I did not. She asked where the food was thinking it was in my bag I guess. I told her it was with my wife in the cart that my wife was pushing around. So her and I together went to find my wife so she could see that the food was there in the cart. If they have cameras there and they watch people which is all good. They should also see where I had put that food and not bothered me at all. I was very nice to the young lady, knowing that she was just doing her job. But whoever was on the camera watching for theft in my opinion needs to be retrained just my opinion. I don't know if I've ever given a business one star, but I believe this experience deserves it. lastly, there was no recognition in their mistake. The girl just walked away. read more

Case ID #2343838 There was an incident regarding the line 5/5/2021. Lines are haphazard, here. One instance, I was in another line, only to be told I was cutting, because there was only one line for all the registers. On 5/5, I made certain there was only one line for all the registers. I looked in the other aisle, no line. So, I lined up, waiting for my turn. When my turn came up, I approached the checkout line to the left of me, then an obnoxious old woman & man protested against my "transgression". I told them I checked and there was no line before I lined up in the correct line. They said no. I said there's only one line. Again, their complaints. So, I let them cut, thinking that was the end of it. Alas, the obnoxious old woman couldn't leave well enough alone, and got into my face, antagonizing me by repeating "Excuse me? Excuse me?". I try to be respectful with elders, but encroaching into my personal space caused me to shout back "EXCUSE YOU!!!!". When I finished paying for my item, I asked the cashier if something can be done about the line situation. She mumbled something noncommittal, and I left. My critique is lack of organization. Is there one line for all the registers, or do lines form at each open register? It's inconsistent as to what the logistics of it is. I've observed other times where there's only one line over by the freezer. My suggestion is to have placards & signage designating "Line Forms Here", with the prerequisite six feet apart stickers to facilitate the route. I made a complaint via the Aldi website 5/7. I received an automated response email, stating "Please know we take feedback such as this very seriously and have forwarded it to the District Manager for further review." Still haven't heard anything. Whether it's one line for all the registers, or a line for each open register, than make that standard across the board. Not, some days it's this, some day it's that. I don't fancy being called a liar, nor a cutter. I hope the District Manager takes my formal inquiry into consideration & reaches out to me, but I'm not holding my breath. read more

One of the better ALDIs around. They always have fresh stocked aisles, and don't have rude cashiers. Also, when there's a big line, they aren't afraid to stop what they're doing and help out in opening more check stands like most other stores. That's great customer service right there. Bought some groceries today with some green grapes and bananas at Aldis in Cerritos. Paid and loaded everything into the car. I then looked at the receipt and noticed that I was charged 2.82 Lb for 2 bananas and 4.22 Lb for a bag of grapes (see the receipt). There is no way 2 bananas weights that much. Also a bag of grapes should weight around 2 Lbs from my past experience. So I went back to the store and weighted one of the bags in the store and it was around 2 Lbs. I took both items back into the store and the cashier and the manager weighted them again. I was correct. Banana was less than a Lb and the bag of grapes was around 2 Lbs. They gave the differences in cash but did not give me another receipt. I come home and weighted them again (see pictures). Banana was 11.125 oz (~0.7 Lb) and the grapes was 2 Lb and 3 oz (~2.2 Lb). I also bought some tomatoes at the same time and it was weighted correctly so I don't think it is a scale weighing accuracy problem. I was always concerned about the check out station layout where the cashier piles everything in from of him/her. It is very easy for extra items to be touching the scale while an item is being weighted. This issue does not seem to happening in other supermarket since an item is pushed away after being weighted. Anyway, I am not sure what is going on but I am concerned that other customers may have been over charged without knowing. read more

This particular branch can be a hit or miss. Product offerings aren't as plentiful as other locations. Prices can be higher when compared to other ALDIs as well, but one can find good deals occasionally. I've encountered some who aren't friendly and others who are helpful. I see the BuzzFeed stories about how amazing Aldi is. I was curious to check it out - see what all the "buzz" is about (sorry... Ugh that was bad). If you're a bargain grocery shopper that knows how to cook, this is probably a fave of yours. I generally wander around a grocery store looking lost until I head to the prepared foods aisle and grab something for dinner and some wine. And although I had READ about the "insert a quarter for a grocery cart" (or what I grew up calling a buggy), I still wasn't fully prepared for it. And I have no change - ever. So Aldi is not for me. But it was still interesting to walk around and check it out and admire the shoppers that are probably saving a crap-ton of money compared to my weekly spend on fancy cheeses and pre-made food because... I can't cook. It's clean and has ample parking and friendly staff. If you're an Aldi shopper, have me over. I'll bring the wine. read more

Customer service is top notch at this location in Cerritos. The staff is friendly, answers any questions you have, and are constantly moving. From stocking shelves, cashiering, to cleaning they do it all. The Aldi brand items are good quality, they even have some name brand items as well but not that many. Produce is excellent but limited selection and prices are great. Just remember to take your quarter for your shopping cart, your own grocery bags, and a happy attitude when your shopping. This is definitely one of our favorite grocery stores, it should be because we drive over 15 miles to shop there. Crazy but worth it. read more

So excited that Aldi finally came to SoCal. Growing up in the Midwest, we would always shop at this chain. They had very easy and wide rows to push carts around, the selection is limited but everything was always easy to find since they carried fewer brands than most of the other grocery stores. The prices were always amazing. We used to buy loaves of bread for a quarter back in the days. So when I found out this chain finally came to SoCal, I couldn't wait to shop and reminisce about the good o' days from my childhood. The store is really clean and new. The aisles are still the same as I remembered them. The price tags still hangs over the piles of products, super cool. Prices are still very reasonable compared to the other grocery chains. In an area dominated by the snobbery of 'whole paychecks', I'm so glad to see a price conscious store finally opening its doors. The quality of food is still as good as I remembered. I bought a whole bunch of produce and other grocery items, filled up one large bag and it was only $6. Score! Notes: you will need a quarter to unlock the carts. It's been like that for 30+ years so get used to it. They do not give out bags, so remember to bring your own. read more

I've already been here twice in the week they've been open. Not the place to do all your grocery shopping, but a good place to start, especially for staples. Some people are complaining because they are looking for brand names or don't want to bring a quarter for the cart. This is not the grocery store for everyone. If you'd rather do a little work (bringing your cart back, bagging your own items), and save money, you can do that here. If you'd rather spend more to have someone else do it for you, that option is available almost everywhere else. How to prepare for a trip to Aldi: Leave preconceived preferences of brand names at home. Just like Trader Joe's, they have their own store brands with quality products. Don't be afraid. Bring a quarter for the cart, you'll get your quarter back when you turn the cart. Close your mouth after your jaw drops at some of the amazing prices. Bring your reusable shopping bags (because of the environment, but also because they charge for bags). Come prepared to bag your own groceries. Easy enough, right? read more

I've been here to look for food, and every time I come out with something that I didn't even know existed. If you find something that you like, you might want to stock up on it. I remember this year in May they had popcorn shrimp, and that stuff was like the best. But then after when I went back there they didn't have it anymore. So definitely stock up if there's something that you like. End of this year they had tikka masala sauce - which is an excellent flavor enhancer. This place also has some good vegetarian options. Who know this place is truly so awesome. They have so many things at the most amazing prices I feel like I'm going to be doing my grocery shopping here Atleast once a week. Like I feel like if I don't come here once a week to check out the discounted finds in food, I wouldn't be doing my household budget any justice. And the fact that the inventory may change daily based on availability, it feels like a farmers market where you can go to get the newest or freshest ingredients. My go to Aldi because they have awesome weekly deals on fruit. This supermarket chain primary makes their own products which has packaging similar to name brands we may be familiar with. If there is something i'm craving that isn't on sale anywhere else, maybe Aldi has it for a lower price. They are moving toward a more organic based product stock at affordable prices, which is great to me! They have organic eggs but also non-organic ones. They were on sale once for 79 cents. This past week pineapples were a dollar and mangos were 39 cents each. Regular price their mushrooms are 1.59 and avocados 49 cents. The quality is good as well. Something to be aware of is that the reason costs are low is they cut back on operating costs. To get a cart, you need a quarter to unlock them from a chain of carts. Put the cart back, to get your quarter back! The cashier will let you borrow a quarter if you don't have one. You need to bring your own bags (or purchase one) and for all the times I've been there, there is only 1 cash register open. There aren't too many people anyway so there was never a super long line. They put the items in a cart next to the register, and you wheel that cart to a long shelf against the wall to bag the items yourself. Lots of costs cut! I don't mind the little bit of work for a good grocery price. read more

I've been coming to this grocery store (when I have enough time to drive to Cerritos) for the past couple of months now. Things to consider: -bring 25cents in order to "rent" a shopping cart -bring your own plastic/paper bags since they dont provide any. You can, however, buy some for 10cents or 15cents -more than 1/2 of their selections are store brand, so this might not be the preference of "brand loyal" customers -they usually have only 2 counters open and they dont bag your purchases for you Despite some of the negative reviews, i can say that I'm satisfied doing my grocery here at Aldi! Their prices are very reasonable, you can easily save 25% or more off of your regular grocery bills by shopping here. My favorites are their "specially selected" and "simple nature" products to which you can't really tell much of a difference compared to popular brands. I have no idea if the cashier lady is having a bad day with her bad attitude or if it's because I'm Asian, but she was not pleasant to observe/ interact with. There was an elderly Asian in front of me (what a coincidence?) and you can see the irritation in her face when she was ringing him up and placing his items in the side booth, and the audacity to say something under her breath since the elder didn't hear her well the first time. When it comes to my turn, the same cold treatment as if she thinks I can't speak or understand English. Not even a "hello" or " here is your receipt." She just proceeds to place my purchases on the side booth and leaving the receipt there. It's no surprise she is a bit more patient with a Caucasian elder who was rung up after me. Maybe I'm being a bit too sensitive? Definitely not. I've been to ALDI in various locations such as in San Bernardino, and employees there were so much better treating their customers from diverse backgrounds. I normally do not leave reviews, especially negative ones. However, I work in healthcare and I'm expected to treat all my patients/ clients with respect and compassion even when I'm having the shittiest day. I hope ALDI at this branch does a better job of cultivating cultural sensitivity and disciplining employees to treat their customers with respect. read more
