This explains why the menu next door was vastly different from what it was when it first opened. The Superette had offerings of locally made pantry supplies and also Japanese tea items. A lot of great gift ideas. This day they were having a pizza popup. I was in a rush but waited till I got my turn at the register to ask how long a pizza would take to decide if I was going to order. They said it would take about 10 minutes, so I went ahead and ordered a Spicy Carbonara. The shop was busy with people ordering pizza or buying ice cream. They have limited flavour offerings on the scoops, but had pints available in the fridge. My pizza came, it's about the personal size, with 6 slices. While there were umbrella tables outside for seating, I took the pizza home. I was a little disappointed that my pizza was burnt so I took a star from that. It's a pity because it was flavourful. I saved a couple of slices to take to work and it was still good. The lady that spoke with me at the shop did explain all the ingredients are freshly sourced or in-house made and she mentioned the dough was made in-house. You can tell it was as it was delicious. Love the vibe of the place and looking forward to more offerings. I appreciate that they have a shop for gifts making it one-stop. Will be back for Christmas shopping! Words to describe Padekwa: Positive vibes, Great spot to work/study, Relaxed, Artistic, Creative, Serene, Peaceful, Safe, spacious Location: It is located by Dollar Tree/7-11. There is plenty of parking because it's in a plaza. Drinks: I ordered their specialties-bananas foster latte and beignet cappuccino. Both served hot. They were delicious! I can taste the sweetness of the bananas and beignets, with the warm combo of the hot coffee. Way to go baristas! After sipping on the coffee nectar, it inspired me to get to work on my work projects. Food: I also tried their brownies and coffee cake. They were both generous slices and appetizing as well! Environment: I really love the aesthetics and atmosphere at Padekwa. You see the personal touches of family life and community. I also love the poem on the wall about art. As the man cut the salami I continued to shop and picked up a jar of silver onions that looked brownish ( the onions inside the jar) and I thought well maybe they are supposed to look this way. Maybe they were a different type of onions. When I thought to look for an expiration date again to my dismay I observed that it had been expired since 2023. Unfortunately I purchased extra pedas chili which looked ok but when I got home I found out that it has been expired since 2018 (please see attached picture). This wasn't the worst of it though because we found a jar of something with leafy green bits that had been expired since 2013. Yes 2013! Bro! You think I should try the chili? You think I'll survive? This place has gone to the pits. Hopefully a health inspector straightens this place out. Furthermore when I got the salami back the slices looked as if my he deli meat cutter blade was very dull.
