I have decided to change my review from a 1* to a 4* and here's why: Background: tank gauge didn't work, made me think I was ripped off, no one at TriFlame would help me so I filled a BBB complaint and left reviews on all sites I could find. Owner calls, said it shouldn't have been a BBB thing.... yeah okay dude, then help me next time before it gets to that! Anyway, propane did last a long time, I do believe it was just the gauge, but the person filling should see if it reads correctly, and if it doesn't, have a tech fix it! It's partly why I'm still leaving it as a 4* because TriFlame should not deliver faulty tanks. But my tank was switched out for free and got my tank filled so I no longer have any problems. So yeah, the owner needs to understand that customers have legit issues and he and his office workers need to help customers better. it was a really long and complicated thing. But the prices are low and the guys who come out are always friendly. read more

3 months into my newly built home in Magalia smell propane were my tank is installed being a plumbing contractor30 yrs I trace out leak found it on fittings they installed to regular and they try to charge me for there defective 15 dollar part and try to blame me and tell me to replace it my self when it's there install I back my installs for 90 Days or one yr office manager and the little young installer is disrespectful telling me I costing them Money when they did hook up in first place thanks for backing up you work when it could have been a dangerous situation when the was a propane leak way to go tri flame read more

I am so disappointed with this company. In this day and age when research shows that the majority of families in the USA cannot afford a $400 emergency these folks refuse to help inflation stressed families by allowing for smaller than their 100 gallons or more requirement. They want $3.65 a gallon and if you have to get 100 gallons, that means $365.00! I have many friends in the area that are struggling and have been able to come up with $250.00 and were turned down to having propane delivery because it was not the required $365.00. We live in a fire ravaged area where people are mostly low income and have minimum wage jobs if they can find one. The greed of this company is astounding and very disappointing. I wonder why other companies such as PG&E will allow for smaller payments or payments on a sliding scale but this company refuses to budge one bit. It is shameful that they will allow families to go without heating due to their extreme written in stone policies. If they are so insistent on having large amounts of money perhaps they could charge an extra fee for those who need to buy less propane due to money issues. It would better serve their community and stop leading people to think that they are greedy and uncaring! Shame shame shame on them! read more

Tri Flame has been our propane provider for two years. We switched from Suburban because of their policy of continually bumping up their prices until you call them to complain. Tri Flame's customer service has been excellent. It's very easy to order a delivery with their online service request. The drivers/delivery/office people have all been friendly and respectful of our property. Tri Flame does not play pricing games. The price you pay is plainly displayed. No questions, no problems. The reviews I've read seem to be old, so maybe Tri Flame went through some kind of management change of something. It's sad to see that the negative reviews are still posted. Switch to Tri Flame! I used Tri-Flame Propane in Magalia when I lived there, my experiences over the years was awesome, they always went over and above to be sure our needs were meant. I give them 10 stars. I just called them to assist a family member needs, again awesome service and very kind caring and professional service. I use propane where I live but currently too far from Tri-Flame or I would use them again, great service and kind staff. Not super pleased with this company. The phone service and customer support leave a lot to be desired. Basically, you call in and get an "answering service" seems like no matter when you call. Your issue is taken down and someone calls you back. This, all after lengthy hold times usually. So why am I calling in in the first place? Because Tri-Flame doesn't offer online payments. It's 2017, they have a fully functioning website, yet require you to call in and give a credit card over the phone. This is a potential data breach and is OLD SCHOOL. Or - I could pay by mail? Or the driver. Those are the options. It's not just about online payments either. I think it's pretty reasonable to have an online data set of how much gas the household is consuming and paying for. In other words, an account I can view instead of a slip of paper on the fridge. My other gripes are more to do with basics of business model. For such a vital utility that keeps families warm and food on the table - you'd think there would be something compelling to keep customers like a once-a-year emergency fill if you have some unexpected increased use in gas (like winter.) Instead, price gouging the customer $75 every time for an "emergency" delivery is the route taken when it doesn't work out with their schedule. The company is located in town after all and you'd think they would be bending over backwards to please customers but that is not the case. They kinda just... deliver gas. That said, the drivers have always been fast, courteous and friendly. Never any issues with them. read more

I was supposed to have propane delivered on the second. We had heavy snow so I had already shoveled a path to the tank and was finishing the driveway when they showed up at my neighbors next door. However after they delivered my neighbors propane they left w/o delivering mine. When I called them they told me they need a clear path and I told them it's all clear. The week passes and still no propane so I call back and was told that the driver said he delivered. Two weeks in and a few more calls I kept getting told that they need a clear path (it kept snowing so I shoveled a path again) then I was told he will be out to deliver. Never showed. I called again and asked for a manager to call me. Never heard from manager. Finally propane gets delivered, but my ticket show's a delivery for the second and the 15th. The diver tells me I owe them. I already had a credit on my account that more than covered the delivery, but they charged me for two deliveries. When I went into the office to get everything straight the girl at the counter said it was an oopsi he delivered to the wrong address. If it was a mistake it should have been corrected immediately, but instead I was given the run around for two weeks and repeatedly lied to. The girl started to get offended and rude then she threatened to have my tank removed. You don't try to steal from some one and then play the victim. And so because the numbers have to add up after trying to hide this for two weeks and try to charge me again... Who are they going to try to pull a fast one on next? I'm still waiting to hear from a manager to make sure I get a proper receipt that shows the correct delivery date and my remaining balance. read more

Well I have had multiple bad experiences with TriFlame Propane but this one tops it off. I've been a customer for going on 3 years. There have been a couple times I requested the company to work with me and set up a payment date for propane. Today I asked to pay more than half and if they could work with me on $85 for ONE DAY. I was told that because of a previous bad experience where an employee called me a liar and all kinds of other things and then I wrote a bad review they will not work with me. Then they proceeded to tell me if I worked and cared about my kids I wouldn't need help with an arrangement. Apparently they are coming to pick up my tank against my approval. read more

I haven't been a customer with Tri-Flame very long but so far I have been treated very poorly and I am very disappointed with their service. Their staff have been unfriendly, unprofessional, and even outright rude! I had a technician come out to replace a leaking regulator and ended up having my tank completely shut off for some unexplained reason. When I called in to see if someone could come out and get everything up and running again I was told I would be billed again for another service visit. I refused to pay for a second visit to fix the mistake they made on the first one and eventually they agreed to get everything turned back on free of charge. After the work was done and as the technician was walking away he tells me "This is the last freebie!" As if them coming out to fix their initial mistake was some gracious favor that was being done for me as a special exception. I don't appreciate being treated like that. If this kind of service continues I will have to seek out another provider for my propane. read more

Tri Flame propane has been rude and deceitful to me. I have been waiting for a month for a refund check from them which I'm sure they never sent. I have since switched to another company ( Kgas) who has been great with good customer service. Stay away from Tri flame! read more

Tri Flame propane and tank lease is many times much cheaper than other companies. I think the staff is professional. The drivers are very courteous. I find that if you talk to people on the phone like you would like to be talked to, the staff is honest and will take care of your needs. In reading some of the negative reviews, I would guess that the callers were rude to begin with. As for the family that tried to get propane with a promise to pay by a third party.........That is funny! They probably have a bridge for sale in Arizona. Don't do business here!! I've never done business with this company or have received propane from them! But I had a collection agency call me twice now accusing me of owing over $380 for propane services at some house in Magalia. I live in Chico and have never lived in Magalia. This business gave my name and phone number to the collection agency. I called this business today and person on phone who did not give her name said they don't keep very good records of customer info but would let her manager know. Make sure you get your facts straight before accusing someone!!!! read more

I used to use Reliance Propane for a number of years. I like to pay in advance about $100 per month and build up credit so I don't have a $600 or $700 bill to fill up my tank. Then one year they stopped taking payments ahead for credit. That's when I switched to Tri Flame Propane. Not only can I pay in advance but they were also cheaper. Glad I made the switch. read more

The staff here are very unfriendly and outright rude. They have no desire to help out their clients even if they have been in good standing for several years. I have a family of 8 with 6 children and because oh health problems ran into some hard times this month. We found a program that is in the process of paying for our propane but tri-flame wont come out to fill even with the promise of payment from a reputable organization. They came out and delivered gas when I was in need. They took care of all my requests. The girls in the office were nice and friendly.

The staff here are very shady and rude. I had a leased tank with propane completely pre-paid for, they then showed up to my home with no notice, lied about their intentions, then shut off and locked my tanks. Very unprofessional company. read more

Not sure why we used this company again for propane. I guess I can only blame ourselves. Last time the service guy left out valve open and we didn't notice until about 2 months later when we were out by our tank, we could smell propane leaking, so we looked at the gauge and it was almost empty. One we got the serviceman out here he said he couldn't smell anything, and it was so obvious, the smell. Anyway, we had to pay full price, they didn't reimburse us for what gas was lost, even though they caused it. And he basically said we were lying. Never ever again will I use this company. Also the employees are so rude, all the way down to the receptions who makes appointments. Use AmeriGas people! This place is a joke. read more
