We have rented a unit here off and on for a few years. The new owners have done a great job improving it by painting the facility and adding brand new security. COMPLETELY DISAPPOINTED!!! The staff was VERY unprofessional! :( I went to their office last week, to inquire about the prices of their storage units. When I walked in, the entire office REEKED of pot. Don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those uptight "anti-cannabis" guys, but there's a time and a place for everything. When I walked in the office, the pot smell was so pungent and so strong, I could feel it in my eyes, and it was so distracting that I could barely talk. Keep in mind, this was in their MAIN OFFICE. I was then greeted by a young man (wearing a baggy sweater, with bushy brown hair, goofy smile, and completely reeked of pot). He seemed stoned out of his mind, and when I asked him about the prices of the storage units, he seemed surprised (as if this was an unusual question to ask at a storage facility). He was also a little bit disheveled, seemed like he had trouble forming his words, and wasn't very professionally dressed. I think I said something like "nevermind" and then left. Again, I have nothing against people who use pot, but at least show some professionalism, or smoke it when you're not at work, or smoke it at a place where you're not going to cause the entire office to reek of weed. People like to be taken seriously, and I'm pretty pissed that this is the way I get greeted when I take time out of my busy schedule, to drive all the way to your office because I wanted to get some information about your prices. Yrs.Bidwell Self Storage, Is not clean, "RAT INFESTED" big time, There is no A-C in the buildings, just in office, Manager Patrick O'Malley is not a"PEOPLE PERSON", Puts on a front 2 yr. Face. Hate 2 say this, cause 9 yrs. Ago I was with this storage 4 about 3 to 4 yrs. The owners back then where "AWESOME" "MANGER & ASST'S AWESOME", Place was always "CLEAN", No worries about Yr. belongs being safe. Not now 17 units Got broken into in June 2015. Mine was One of them. Also my unit is "INFESTED" with "RAT PISS & RAT POOP POOP" Between brake in & losing over half of Personal property from this. I have been a customer with Bidwell Self Storage for the past three years, and finally was able to move my stuff out today. I cannot express enough about how great this storage facility is, the onsite manager Patrick is very polite and always a pleasure to talk to. I looked for a local storage facility that had climate control. This is a nice clean place and the management is very helpful. I found a climate controlled unit for my antiques and a regular cheap unit for tools. It is nice to have a choice in the same location. Very convenient and good prices. read more

Didn't store there, but dealt with Patrick on a Uhaul truck/trailer rental. There was an issue with the reservation (website, not in store) and he was helpful in getting the situation resolved and making sure I got what I needed, even though it wasn't at his location. read more

This place is TERRIBLE. Called and reserved a storage unit and paid over the phone. Explained to the manager that this was my first time and needed assistance and detailed description of unit. I had very little help and needed it to be short people friendly. He FAILED to let me know that the unit was UPSTAIRS. We had to use a fork lift, operated by one of the workers to load everything up and then roll in other thing ALL the way to unit. NOT KIDDING THIS TOOK OVER 4 hours because only one person was there. Not only did they fail to tell me what I was getting myself into, because remember I have to take all that stuff out now.. Then I call at the beginning of the month to pay leave 5 voice mails and no one called me back. I went down there to pay it because no one answered and they told me there was a 25$ late fee. I explained that I had called multple times between the 1st and the 10th to pay and no one answered or called back. He gave me the managers number to waive the fee. I called the manager and he was so rude and immediately said NO. I explained in further and he said " let me check my voicemails and call you back." Of course I never heard back. Finally called this business 10 MORE TIMES. Finally someone answered and I paid. I am leaving this place early and do not recommend storing at this place. At this point I don't care about the money. They made my moving experience way worse. As a CHICO LOCAL, I have told everyone to avoid this place. I also have posted many places to avoid this from happening to someone else. read more

I used Bidwell for a Uhaul rental a few months back, and was satisfied with their customer service. Upon renting, I had little to no idea about anything Uhaul-related, and the gentleman working that day (I can't remember his name) answered all my questions thoroughly, and helped me get the right truck for my needs. He was polite to other customers that were in the office at the time, and dealt with everyone in an orderly and timely manner. If ever in need of a Uhaul, I recommend this location read more

I used Bidwell Self Storage over this past summer in 2015. The staff was so incredibly helpful to me, as I am a college student and had a lot of stuff with very little time. Fortunately enough I was placed in the climate controlled building, which made it very cool when I came in at the end of the summer to get a lot of stuff in such a short time. With such short time, they even stayed open past closing to make sure I had gotten everything out when I was moving into my new apartment. Every time I came in with questions, the staff was always super friendly and nice, especially the manager, Pat. I had noticed that by the end of the summer they had made some changes and were constantly working on the upkeep of their business. I will definitely be using them again! read more

If you wanna get your refund back DONT DO IT!!! I prepaied for two months and moved out in the middle of the second month. They are supposed to send the refund check to you within a couple weeks. It has now been two months and i have called them multiple times to send it and still nothing. read more

I paying for a/c unit but every time I go there access doors are wide open and units are hot as hell. Walkways are filthy. Old owners were great. Why pay for a/c unit if they never go out and check to see if someone left them open. Stay away they suck bigtime!! read more

I have been renting storage units at Bidwell for years. I own a business in Chico and live in the central valley so I don't get up there as much as I like. I did have some issues with the old manager, but the owners have since replaced her. The new group of employees are wonderful and do the extra I need since I'm not in town. The employees have always been nothing but professional and always go the extra mile for their patrons. not sure what that teena idiot is talking about. I have never seen a rat and the staff has always been very kind. Just wondering where she took those pictures because they sure weren't taken at Bidwell. . read more
