I've been in my new house for two days, looking at all of these stacks boxes. I still can't believe the Murdock's guys helped me pack and still got two truckfulls of my things unloaded in less than 4 hours. The six men who did all the labor were so kind and quick! They didn't even break one thing!!! (1500-1400 square feet). Buying and selling houses has been incredibily difficult. The Murdock's Men (Dillon, Dylon, David, Max, Douge, Joshua, and Andrew) called me by name, made eye contact with me, asked for my opinion regarding placement of boxes and furniture. They covered my furniture and breakables with blankets, not plastic. I felt like they genuinely cared about me and my belongings. This is the perfect moving company I know of in Chico. The moving crew was excellent. They were very courteous, professional and helpful throughout the move. They worked hard and handled most of our belongings with care, which we really appreciated. My only concern is that one item was damaged during the move. I've called the company twice to report it but have not received a response yet, so I'm hoping they will follow up soon and address the issue. I would also recommend that customers consider purchasing additional insurance coverage if they have valuable items. The basic coverage included with the move may not be enough to fully cover damaged items. read more

We asked for a couple of things not on estimate and we were charged an extra hour. Not as great as they are rated. But they got the job done. Started out wonderfully, ended up a disaster.... They came out to our home in Paradise to do a walk through bid. Spending enough time to see the entire project, they send a formal quote a few days later. Several months later after we'd contracted with them, literally the week of the move, they doubled the quote, saying they needed another truck and more manpower. It was impossible at that point to find another available mover ( this was 2021, the hight of covid ). We moved from northern California to northern Arizona, and had rented a number of large storage units for that purpose. The movers arrived late at night and shoved all of our belongings into these storage units, breaking glass tables, and damaging many art objects and furnishings. When I'd complained, the owner was a jerk, and said "file a claim"... A very bad experience, never to be repeated, and it cost almost $15,000.... from the original $7,500 quote... read more

Rodger's and Sawyer are two guys who really stood out to me in the move. Rodger's is amazing and a really good packer who cares about the household belongings like it is his. And Sawyer was always on it to assist Rodger's by offering what to bring next and also was doing a good job complimenting Rodger's packing job in the truck by fitting in items in the Tetris stack. Murdock's moved me this past weekend from Sacramento to Chico, and I was really impressed with the guys who assisted! Adam, Thomas, and Trevor worked their tails off for over 8 hours, and made one of life's most stressful events much more bearable. My only frustration was that the original estimate was quite a bit lower than the final bill, which surprised me because I was a lot more packed & prepared than I had originally anticipated during the virtual walkthrough.
