Decided to try something new for a summer rooftop happy hour vibe. I made a 5:30pm reservation for Friday afternoon but it wasn't super busy besides the indoor bar, and I was able to choose where I wanted to sit outdoors which has couches, small tables, etc. The happy hour is well-priced, with $8 or $9 margaritas and palomas. I had the passion fruit margarita which was good and refreshing! Their happy hour menu has $3.50 chicken and veggie tacos, my friend tried the chicken ones and enjoyed them. I had the chips, guacamole, and salsa which was good! The server was really sweet and the service was generally good, a bit hard to track down at times for things like napkins/silverware, but it was happy hour. I would come back again! Some small suggestions would be expanding the happy hour menu, it's pretty limited and there is a stark difference in prices for their regular menu. I will truly never ever come here again. The manager here last night, I was told her name is Shelly supported some of the worst service I literally have ever gotten. Came here on a Tuesday night to try something new and check out some views. Our server (had some fresh braids and matching eyebrows to it's like reddish look) she was okay. Took out drink order we good. We place our food order and like 20 or so minutes later maybe longer she comes back and asks if we are ready to place an order... huh ma'am? Thought she was kidding but she wasn't and we remind her we already ordered. I guess this shoulda been a flag bc our food doesn't come for forever. The server from the other table next to us (bless her heart) she was light skinned and super apologetic. She ended up checking in on us after seeing frustration and tried to help. She brought my food and the plate was COLD. She brought the guy food next to me and his food HAD A BUG IN IT. After we complain she apologized and takes both our entrees back. The guy next to me orders something else like tacos. Fast forward another 20 ish and my food is returned - just as cold as the first time. I call the server back and ask her to touch the food so she she can see. I keep asking was like chicken bowl a cold dish bc how do you bring my a cold fish twiceee. At this point it's like the light skinned girl took over the table bc where is our server at this point? I have no idea. Good over an hour plus more comes and it's okay. But at this point it's an hour plus- my friend finished her food that also took about 40 mins to arrive if not. Longer most likely so like we are SICKKK at this point. The girl who stepped in was great. Our server reappears around close out :) and I inform her of all the hardship and things and also inform her of the fact that the other server stayed that for the extreme waits, the bug in the neighboring time, the terrible service we have received we were told food would be waived. Now the manager comes to clear up that the light skinned girl who took over assisting us was not the manager. She looks completely unbothered but the terrible service. We were never apologized to, the inconvenience was never explained- this Shelly was a stern cold women that I would never send anyone to have any conversation. She was not empathetic, I think she offered to take a dollar or two off. For the guy who had a bug in her food she said oh no I'm not giving it to you for free I can give you a discount. For me at this point an hour plus in the food has more recently been finally delivered and I have not touched it at all yet. I tell her customer service wise we shouldn't have to pay for anything but the drinks. Service was horrendous. Food had something wrong every single time. How do you bring me cold food twice? Like how? How do you not apologize for the inconvenience and you're the one with an attitude?! We are paying for an experience and you're serving crap. I told SHELLY THE MANAGER ( this solid woman with two feed in braids and no smile) that I haven't even touched the food and if I have to pay almost full price she can have it. This woman takes the food back. She takes it back yall. Like maam what are you even going to do with it. It's like 945pm ish by this point. Like you literally are the worst manager I have ever seen. I would never ever come a on a night this woman facilitates. The establishment and the service I received was clearly a reflection of the manager- POOR ATTITUDE AND POOR LEADERSHIP. Didn't care about any customer satisfaction. Also gratuity is also included. Guess that's why our server showed back up to make sure she got her 20 percent for not serving me anything fr. And not making sure my food was handled in a timely fashion. But when your money is guaranteed regardless of you give poor service, attitude and cold food this is the experience :) thanks Shelly for absolutely nothing. Even if the food was discounted the ATTITUDE y'all! Like ma'am how you mad that yall gave terrible service? Why is my bill 28 dollars and all I got was a drink and bad manners. I've given this place a chance twice and I won't be back. On my first visit, they were closed for a private event but did not update their social media. Nor did they tell the front desk that they were closed for a private event. The second visit was for a special Juneteenth event, where proceeds were supposed to go to the NAACP. The bartender did not know the event was going on. She asked the other bartender, who said it was happening at a special time. This stipulated, again, was not shared on social media. Communication with the patrons is non-existent. I will not be returning. Since we had come out of our way for the event, we did not have a happy hour margarita. The drink was good. But not just Charles, everyone that stopped by our table (clearing the table, delivering food, refilling water) was friendly, engaging, and inquired if my friends and are were okay or needed anything else. The Treehouse rooftop was recommended to us by Google. We made reservations for what turned out to be a really cold night. Alex welcomed us and sat us at our choice of tables. The atmosphere is tropical and fun. The food is a Mexican/ Caribbean fusion. I had chimichurri brisket tacos (3 of them) with radish, cabbage and pink onion. Very juicy and really favorable. I visited Treehouse on an early Saturday Night. It was a little tricky to find due to my GPS, but the building has free parking for three hours. Once the building is located, you go up to the 5th Floor and get greeted by Tulum vibes as well as smiles from the receptionists. We attempted to sit outside, but the propane tanks weren't working. It was find since it wasn't crowded and it might have been too cold regardless. Charles, our server, was great! Attentive, knowledgeable, patient and had personality. He gave recommendations and suggestions for food and drink. Palm Dream - 10/10. It tastes like beaches in Mexico. Low Rider- 8.5/10. Great flavors, the combination is something I wasn't use to , but definitely could only drink one due to its flavor profile. General Tso Cauliflower Taco- Favorite Taco here. I almost forgot it wasn't meat due to the savory crunch and the sauce that made me want more. I ended up getting seconds. Brisket Taco- Solid choice for all meat eaters. Flavors were spot on. I stopped in Treehouse early on a Friday evening to grab a drink with a friend. We sat at the bar and ordered a round of drinks and the guacamole appetizer. The drinks were phenomenal and very well crafted the leopard actually found its spots. The guacamole was delicious but we wish it came with more chips. Our bartender was very attentive and friendly. We wanted to stay for another round but the drinks were a bit pricey. The decorations in the restaurant fit the theme and the rooftop gives great views of the city. Just came back from having food and drinks at this location. This restaurant is a hotel rooftop bar located in Union Market, with a very inviting vibe. We wanted to start out with drinks and were told that three of the seven cocktails were out. Please note that it was two hours after opening and all cocktails are pre-batched, so that was interesting. For cocktails, we ordered some of the available drinks: The Lowrider and Japanese Rootbeer--both pretty standard. My companion wasn't impressed by the beverages and ordered an Old Fashioned to follow and I wrapped up with the 'Porque Elote?'. Again, pretty standard. We ultimately ended up ordering the Yucatán Chicken and Chimichurri Brisket tacos to eat. Both tacos were okay and had several of the same ingredients even though otherwise is advertised on the menu. As this restaurant recently opened, it was an opportunity to try something new. Looking forward to seeing how they develop in the coming months. read more

This place has an amazing view, and we had really good service, but in my opinion, the food was pretty rough. I had a margarita and to me it was the kind of margarita that is so full of artificial chemicals that it tastes both too sour and too sweet at the same time. I also ordered the chicken tortilla soup, and the broth seemed like it was straight tomato paste or pizza sauce, it was barely edible in my opinion. When you first enter be mindful that you are entering into a hotel lobby. The front desk is to your left, but if you continue going straight and make another left you will see a bank of elevators that will take you to the rooftop. My friends and I stopped by during their brunch hours, but we weren't impressed by the 5 or so items on the brunch menu so we settled with just getting one drink each. Our server Alex was absolutely amazing and made our short time there alot of fun. In my opinion the drink prices are pretty steep for what you get which includes the ambiance. The rooftop doesn't really show you much of DC, you don't see alot of those iconic structures this side of DC, but there is a large outside wrap around rooftop that is quite nice. We plan on going back to give it another try when we can try more of the menu and their happy hour looked like they had some great deals. Union Market is basically across the street so perhaps somewhere to start or to end. read more

Excellent service from Marché! But...there was a lot left to be desired. I think they have good potential but are still working out a lot of kinks. The cauliflower tacos were solid but nothing special; chips and guac were good and filling. My friend enjoyed her fish tacos. Sadly, they did not have the one vegan bowl available that we came to try that night so that was a bit disappointing. We did have a stunning view of the Basilica from our table, which added to the ambiance. But generally I wouldn't rush to come back here, though I'd come back if I were at Union market. Later our waiter said if you put in Selina (the old location) Google will provide better directions. The rooftop had a great aesthetic. Large central bar and tables around. The music was a little loud if you are trying to have a conversation but great if you're looking for more of a club vibe. The food was average. I had chips and salsa, corn ribs and fish tacos. Everything was well seasoned but corn ribs were overcooked and the fish tacos had limited fish. They also were out of all their desserts. The wait staff was extremely friendly and helped to provide lots of recommendations. Many of these issues are likely growing pains of being a new restaurant/bar. I had the carne asada breakfast hash and my friend had the huevos rancheros. My food was delicious. But be warned - they do not serve coffee at all here. They also have very limited non-alcoholic beverages to offer - no iced tea, etc. And they were out of the ingredients to make a Bloody Mary, a brunch staple. So we just drank water. So, depending on what you want out of brunch, the food itself was delicious, but the accompaniments that you typically expect from brunch were not there. We had such a great time here it's the perfect location for the dc views as well as fireworks ! I would recommend this place for girls and guys night out as well as for couples. The food is good we had cauliflower tacos and guacamole. I wish the portion of the guac was a bit more and it was maybe seasoned a little more but other than that everything was perfect.
