Dropped by Trecce with coworkers for dinner on a weekday. The interior felt super homey and you can tell that the place is owned by a local family. There were a lot of ravioli options but a bit lacking in the rest. I opted for the rigatoni bolognese. The portion was pretty good for the price but I did find my pasta a bit undercooked and a bit too salty. I tried all of my coworkers dishes and those were much better. Next time I would probably opt for the squid ink linguini instead since that was super flavourful. Overall a decent spot for dinner. read more

Trecce's classic wood-fired oven spits out amazing wood-fired pizzas: perfectly charred crust, generous toppings, good sharing size. If you want an old-school style pizza, this is the way to go. Also tried: - The seafood fradiavola pasta had a generous heaping of mussels, shrimp and calamari to go with a rich tomato sauce. That said, really pricey for pasta. - The grilled octopus was tender and flavourful, though the portion size was small. - The tiramisu was properly spongey and the chocolate cheesecake was blissfully dense. Service was informative and friendly. Kitchen was a bit slow but it was a busy night. Vibe of the place was casual and welcoming. Would definitely come back if I'm in the mood for a homey Italian meal. read more

If you are looking for a nice Italian meal in Woodbine Danforth corridor, then look no further than Trecce on Danforth. Wonderful ambiance and great food. It's a good spot for families and couples alike. They have a small patio in front and parking is on the street or side streets. It's also a great spot to have a good conversation while dining (ie not loud music blaring). We found the staff helpful and welcoming. Definitely a relaxed vibe. The food was great. I had an Aperol Spritz which I usually enjoy. I did find the shaved iced watered it down too quickly in the case though. The pasta was excellent. I would do that again in a heartbeat. I just saw the news about this restaurant-- WOW! The three sisters were able to apprehend a burglar who shattered their front door and they pinned him down until the police came. Seriously, if there is one family-run restaurant that needs to be supported through this pandemic, I highly suggest it's this place with these three badass young women! Bravo!!! read more

My wife and I decided to check this place out for the first time today (June 1/2018). we love close by and have been waiting to go. We're certainly going to go back, it was quite nice. Here's my take on the place - in the form of the story of our dinner. We brought our 10 mos old daughter with us. Not a big deal but we had to lift the stroller up one step. Trecce lacks a ramp into the store unfortunately. The front entrance is tiny, barely enough room for two people to fit by each other - however the rest of the restaurant is laid out really well. We sat at the very front of the restaurant off to the right and our stroller folded up fit well behind the table. Our server was great - from looking at the other photos here on Yelp I think her name was Sabrina. She was quite attentive and knowledgeable. So we sat down, got a high chair for the little one, was served some nice fresh bread. We had grilled calamari (which tasted GREAT but was slightly rubbery) along with an arugula salad (see my pic). Wifey had the margarita pizza and I had the fettuccine a la vodka with shrimp. Overall the food was quite good. The ambience, the price, the service and the layout made this place an overall joy to be had. Oh yeah and we really liked how you can see the pizza oven too. That was cool :) read more

We came here at Thursday afternoon for lunch. It's decorated very trendy and the waitress was very pleasant. I had a chicken sandwich which was an amazing deal it was a big piece of chicken with a nice crunchy coating with herbs. My boyfriend had the meatball sandwich which came on an a nice ciabatta bun. I ordered a sign of rapini and he had the stretchela (sp?) soup which were both nice and homemade. The food took a while to come consideing it wasnt too busy but it was hot n fresh. I had the black squid ink linguini with clams. Very good and with lots of clams. Then Nutella pizza which was too much for two people. Nice restaurant but a little too noisy. We were sitting right in front of the music speaker which should be moved somewhere else. read more

I was very excited to check this place out as I just moved to the neighbourhood. It's an attractive restaurant with a great patio. We were seated promptly outside and handed menus - however, we then waited over 15 minutes without so much as someone coming by to provide water or take a drink order. We were completely ignored. It's worth mentioning they did not seem overly busy. We ended up getting up and leaving and going next door. read more

Previously known as Quattro Ragazze Ristorante - Their menu is essentially all traditional Italian with a predictable menu - which to me, is a good thing. Everything is very well prepared - old Italian style and modern presentation. Fresh made pastas, prima (appetizers/first courses), salads, soups, main courses and made-in-house breads. If you are big on red meat - try the veal or lamb. Entrees are generous portions. Quality cuts perfectly grilled over flame and a hungry man size at 13 oz..'s that will sit you back on your seat. Fairly priced for the area probably the only respectable Italian restaurant in the entire Danforth area. It has a newly renovated decor and furniture. Really nice ambience for any occasion. and very open airy modern decor. I have also had their thin pizza which is very delicious. Their lunch veal sandwich is superb and a steal of a deal at an unbelievable $6. They do uber delivery as well. Their chefs are top notch. Very recommended. read more

First time here....four for dinner. Comfortable and pleasant atmosphere. Service was very good. Fried Calamari and Arancini was excellent. Had the chicken parmigiana with fresh made pasta....huge portions and cooked perfectly. Had to take half home. Margherita pizza was a large serving and baked in the wood burning oven to our request. The red sauces were very tasty and not overloaded with salt as are many restaurant red sauces. Being Italian I am usually critical when ordering Italian, this place does not disappoint. To top it off we had cappuccino, large a very hot...the way it should be and the in- house made Tiramisu was excellent, light and creamy. Will go back to try other dishes. read more

Just got delivered the vodka fettuccine pasta and the grilled octopus ,fettuccine ok but the octopus I got 1 tentacle 3 inch long total garbage tastes like crap and costed $18 ,the Greek grill u get a fantastic helping of octopus for the same price ,I've used this place before but it seem they are going down hill ,will never use them again ,I gave them a call to give my concerns,spoke to a nice yonge girl and she said they will call my back ,well on that note I won't be waiting by the phone lol ,the problem I have is I love supporting local but some businesses case in point make it Impossible to do they just screw u over plain and simple,sad , read more

Let me start by saying that the food is amazing which is why this place gets 3-stars from me. Especially the pizzas! We went as a group with two kids and I was sad to learn that they have no options for kids, especially since it's such a family neighbourhood, not that I expect a kids menu but the portions I had to buy for them could not be split into smaller meals/portions at a reduced cost, so at $20-25 a meal I would not recommend this place if bringing the kids.(loss of one star), the last star lost was due to poor service, the waitress barely checked in on us, and the place was not busy, it took us 20 minutes just to pay. Trecce is fantastic! During the pandemic they are doing an amazing fresh pasta and sauce takeout menu. It is some of the best fresh pasta I've had in the city!!! They prepare the sauces fresh for every order. I had the vodka sauce and it was delicious. It's family-run and very reasonably priced. Definitely looking forward to going back to try more and hopefully dining in once that is available. read more

Came once with a group of friends for dinner and had a great meal. My friend and I split the Mediterranean pizza which was pretty good and the ricotta ravioli in Gorgonzola sauce which was excellent. All homemade and great quality. The homemade tiramisu for dessert was also really great. Tried a bite of my friend's Margherita pizza and thought it was excellent too. Service was friendly and prompt! Came back another day for a takeout meatball sandwich and it was AMAZING. Wow. Best $9 lunch ever! So filling and all homemade and super fresh. Some of the best seafood we've had in Toronto, at a very reasonable price! Became our go-to place for date night. We particularly recommend the black squid ink pasta, the grilled whole branzino, and the buck-a-shuck Wednesdays. The pizza was the only good thing about the place. You can forget about the mussels, arancini, pasta or any other main. In fact, this is the first time ever - in Toronto or in Rome - that I've had meatballs that were mushy and seemingly undercooked! As with any other restaurant, we ordered appetizers and mains. We were in the middle of having our appetizers - who wouldn't be at only 10 mins after they arrived? - and then my main showed up at the table. My companion even mentioned that we were still eating our appetizers - which was obvious - and that he was surprised my main was there. He said he didn't want his so quickly. The waitress didn't seem to understand and simply repeated that our mains were ready. About 3 mins later, she brought my companion's main meal (chicken parmigiana). Again, my companion mentioned that it was very quick given that we barely had our appetizers for even 15 mins, to which she replied that the kitchen times everything. As it was exasperating trying to explain why we might have wanted to wait, we simply said, "It's fine. We know it's from the kitchen. Please just leave it then." However, she decided to say to my companion, "Let me give you a piece of advice. The kitchen times everything. You're the first person who has complained that the meal has come out early. You have 15-20mins for the appetizer and then we bring out the main. That's how the kitchen does it." At that point, I tried to politely explain the issue again and finally had to say, "Perhaps you should understand that generally- if I could give you a piece of advice -the customer is always right. Let's leave things for now and perhaps I can speak with a manager later." The manager later showed up and asked us to let her know what happened. I repeated the whole thing about kitchen timing and how it's odd that the waitress would then say, "let me give you a piece of advice". The manager actually replied with the fact that everyone has a right to their opinion. She then suggested we could have said we'd order the mains later if we needed more time with appetizers. There wasn't an apology for bringing the mains out much too early - again, 10 minutes after we got the appetizers. There wasn't any admission that the waitress could have been more understanding. I told her that I work in entertainment PR and have dealt with all manner of client and personalities; still, I wouldn't be defending proffering unwanted advice! The manager didn't even acknowledge that they might be wrong; she said she just didn't want anyone leaving unhappy so wanted to come over to speak with us. We paid our bill which was just over a hundred dollars, left a 15% tip and will never be back. So now, presumably, we're all happy. read more

As someone who lives close by, this is the best meal in the area, handmade everything, was fantastic. There are some great places in our hood, but Trecce hits the marks, solid, good, homemade Italian. Spaghetti is the easiest thing to make poorly, and it takes real talent to do it well and the spaghetti and meatballs here are on point. Well done and keep up the good work! read more
