Arugula Salad - an explosion of sweet and slight sour in your mouth.

My wife and I decided to check this place out for the first time today (June 1/2018). we love close by and have been waiting to go. We're certainly going to go back, it was quite nice. Here's my take on the place - in the form of the story of our dinner. We brought our 10 mos old daughter with us. Not a big deal but we had to lift the stroller up one step. Trecce lacks a ramp into the store unfortunately. The front entrance is tiny, barely enough room for two people to fit by each other - however the rest of the restaurant is laid out really well. We sat at the very front of the restaurant off to the right and our stroller folded up fit well behind the table. Our server was great - from looking at the other photos here on Yelp I think her name was Sabrina. She was quite attentive and knowledgeable. So we sat down, got a high chair for the little one, was served some nice fresh bread. We had grilled calamari (which tasted GREAT but was slightly rubbery) along with an arugula salad (see my pic). Wifey had the margarita pizza and I had the fettuccine a la vodka with shrimp. Overall the food was quite good. The ambience, the price, the service and the layout made this place an overall joy to be had. Oh yeah and we really liked how you can see the pizza oven too. That was cool :)

We came here at Thursday afternoon for lunch. It's decorated very trendy and the waitress was very pleasant. I had a chicken sandwich which was an amazing deal it was a big piece of chicken with a nice crunchy coating with herbs. My boyfriend had the meatball sandwich which came on an a nice ciabatta bun. I ordered a sign of rapini and he had the stretchela (sp?) soup which were both nice and homemade. The food took a while to come consideing it wasnt too busy but it was hot n fresh. Will come back to try the pasta!

    Nutella pizza

I had the black squid ink linguini with clams. Very good and with lots of clams. Then Nutella pizza which was too much for two people. Nice restaurant but a little too noisy. We were sitting right in front of the music speaker which should be moved somewhere else.

Enjoyed great pizzas and the best grilled whole fish anywhere, wih a side of wonderful horta, topped off with home made tiramisu, also the best.

Nestled on Queen East, its warm, wood-fired vibe makes every visit special. The Favorites We kicked things off with their saffron‑kissed Arancini--bite‑sized spheres of rice and smoked mozzarella, godsends dipped into bright tomato-marinara and pesto. Next came the Pizzano pizza: a perfectly blistered crust layered with pepperoni, Calabrian chilies, fior di latte, hot honey drizzle, and aged Parmigiano--an addictive balance of sweet‑heat and savory richness. The pillowy Gnocchi arrived next--smothered in butternut squash purée, earthy wild mushrooms, hazelnuts, sage brown‑butter, and a final snow of Parmigiano. And the Fritto Misto was a crunchy delight: lightly breaded shrimp, calamari, scallops, all perked up with zesty lemon‑caper aioli. Setting the Tone We started with cocktails, which hit the right note--elegant, balanced, and a little unexpected. They added a celebratory lift that carried right into the meal. Service was smooth and welcoming, striking that hard-to-nail mix of polish and warmth.

After several seafood meals we opted to avoid seafood the first night. We had the Peking duck combo (Peking duck with thin tortillas, cantaloupe, spring onion and cucumber as well as duck in lettuce wraps). The duck tortilla was a highlight and a crowd favorite, including with my picky kids. The minced duck seemed a bit overcooked/fried, althoug it didn't stop me from eating several lettuce wraps! We didn't know until too late there was a separate option to order duck soup. We ordered a steamed sea bass which I found l a bit fishy tasting, although my parents thought it was perfectly fine. We also had some crispy noodles with super tender chicken, and tender pea shoots in broth. It was a great meal. The second night our host ordered the crab claws, and conch in a shell for everyone. Both were unique starters. We also had maggi lobster, noodles, and a special order of bbq pork buns and har gao for the kids. The whole meal was excellent, and the conch especially was unique. We replaced the roast pigeon with sweet and sour pork, which we ostensibly did for the kids but the grown ups were pleased too. The restaurant had a good selection of cocktails. Only criticism would be the complimentary desserts. They had red bean/green bean soup, which we declined, some cookies, and a gelatin dessert that tasted exactly like car freshener to me. But it was only a small blip to the meal!

I don't think the takeout platters are offered for dine in - which is one downside if you would like to eat it in the restaurant. Regardless, a great value for fresh and good cuts of fish for the platters! For take out, we ordered two x seasonal sashimi platters to do a DIY handroll and sushi night at home with some friends. The cuts they gave in the platter were premium pieces such as otoro, chutoro, scallop etc. Highly recommend for a DIY food night at home with family/friends! On the website, if you order and pick up yourself it is $120 for ~40 pieces+ and if you order on uber eats it is $140 per platter. We had a group of 6 so splitting the cost is $40-47 per person which is a great value for good quality fish. For dine in - we ordered a few different items and all were wonderful. I had the Deluxe Maguro Kaisen Don (~$50) and the cuts of tuna (otoro, chutoro) were melt in your mouth. We've also tried their set menus and this came with a variety of dishes. It came with sashimi appetizer, pork belly, your choice of udon (we chose the uni, crab and cream udon), and your choice of don (we chose the wagyu). The set comes with a decent amount of food for only $42, very worth the value and we were full! The uni didn't taste fishy, udon was very creamy, and the wagyu was tender in the don. My sister in law ordered a set with many different small dishes on the plate ($40). It was nice to try different seasonal ingredients and sample it in small portions to try it all. The other occasion we had for dine in was a few years ago, and we both had different set menus with Maguro Toro Don and unagi Don. That set was delicious as well and we thought it was cool to pour a broth into the don bowl at the end to make it like a soup. This restaurant is also half market where they sell to-go food/handrolls/frozen ramen etc. The groceries were mainly Japanese ingredients and snacks. The restaurant itself is not to big so it can fill up quick! I would recommend making reservation if you are coming in a large group on busier nights/weekends. Will definitely return if we are in the area!

You could barely taste the alcohol, and it was essentially a fizzy melon drink. The food was phenomenal. The Deluxe Maguro Kaisen Don came with a mountain of fresh bluefin tuna, including otoro, chutoro, akami, and negitoro, over perfectly seasoned sushi rice. The shiso, tobiko, and scallions added a nice brightness, and we loved that the rice wasn't mushy. The Sizzling Unagi Hitsumabushi came in a stone bowl that kept everything hot for longer. The eel was huge, perfectly grilled, and well seasoned, with the same delicious sushi rice underneath. It came with pickles and kombu soup, which you can pour over the bowl for a different way to enjoy it. We kept ours on the side so the eel wouldn't get too soggy. There's also a cute Japanese market stocked with condiments, furikake, sake, snacks, desserts, and ready-to-go meals that can be heated up on-site. Definitely a spot we'd happily return to.
