Mounted TV with hidden wiring
Sriram S.

I hired Rob and his team earlier this summer (June 2021) to hardwire my 3 level townhome with Ethernet and terminate all the connections into a 6U networking rack. I also had him mount a TV on the wall and route the wiring behind the wall. I contacted about 6 vendors to get quotes and Rob was the only vendor who would not give a quote without inspecting the location. That's a plus in my book, since that way you can get realistic estimates and the contractor gets an idea of the challenges involved. Rob arrived promptly for the quote, took notes of the locations where I wanted the drops, estimated how long of a run each drop would be from the networking rack and how the drop would be wired, making a note of the number of cuts that would be needed per drop. He also let me know that his team would make sure that each drywall cut would be patched/spackled and I would only need to paint over them. This was an advantage since most of the contractors I got quotes from would not fix their drywall cuts, which would have required me to hire a drywall contractor to fix/patch their cuts. I received an estimate from Rob the following week and the pricing was extremely competitive, especially when accounting for the drywall patches. He gave me a payment schedule and a job start and end date. He also let me know what parts I needed to purchase - a network rack and a power distribution system of my choice. Rob and his team arrived promptly each day, let me know what areas they'd be working in and kept me abreast of progress. Due to the unique construction of my townhome, Rob encountered a few unforeseen issues but he was able to devise plans on the fly to get around the obstacles and proceed with the work. The job took a day longer than originally planned due some of these unforeseen issues, but Rob was able to adjust his schedule and help finish up the job the next day. Rob's attention to detail deserves special mention, from planning the project to its execution- especially in the way the TV was mounted with the wires hidden (and separated in two channels - low voltage and line). I would heartily recommend Rob and his crew for everything from wiring/mounting your TVs, home theater systems to wiring your whole home for ethernet. I would definitely hire his crew again if I had any projects that required his skill and expertise!

We were looking to upgrade the internet setup at our home with CAT6 wired throughout key places in our home to optimize our home office setup and improve our overall WiFi connection throughout the home. The team at Trebor Technical Solutions responsed quick. The consulation process was very informative and effective as we mentioned our requirements. The team was very attentive and provided us with a number of options before going with the most effective solution to meet our request. The job itself took 2 days and ended up with 8 drops total each with a Access Point as well installtion of the main Switch unit. The team was very precise and professional in how the carry out their work. Definitely will look to Trebor Technical Solutions for future work when needed and definitely recommend!

Conversation via Thumbtack with Rob.

I used this service back before COVID-19 in February and had Rob mount one of my televisions in my bedroom. He did a great job. He and I discussed through Thumbtack and text messages him coming back out to my home to install possibly a outdoor video camera and mounting another television in my basement. Sadly after COVID, there was a halt which I understand and was myself unwilling to have contractors in my home. However as Thumbtack was back in service some months later in June, Rob would not respond back to me via Thumbtack and stated the level of demand picked up and he was very busy. Again, I understood. However as a paying customer who submitted prior to COVID a request for work to be completed, I thought I was seen equally the same as others who were getting services completed. I could have been offered help from someone else in the company but instead I felt ignored as I reached out in June and recently this month (October) and after several messages to Rob, I stopped and took my money to another company. Sadly I have to get Trebor 2 stars (updated due to lack of responsiveness and the how my 5 star rating for 1 job was used as a means for trying to cover up the lack of response in Thumbtack). The work for the price was good but customer service not so much. I've since paid another company to mount 2 televisions and other technical work that was needed. I would recommend this company but would say to be aware that customer service may not be the top priority for everyone equally. Update: It speaks volumes that Rob would respond to this comment through Yelp but not in thumbtack and yes I had given your company 5 stars in thumbtack based on the service completed in February 2020 for the one tv mounted but however the lack of responsiveness from July through now in October 2020 is what I am speaking of not to mention of course how you have just responded shows my exact point. In customer service you should seek to make things right and supply a resolution, not try to hide behind a 5 star rating given months ago for a job that is not the subject of this review. If thumbtack would allow the ratings to be changed, I would update my response. Lesson learned with this company on standards of customer service. I'll take my money elsewhere and have.

Trebor Technical Solutions, LLC is a super company offering stellar service. I HIGHLY recommend them as I was quite impressed with both projects: coaxial outlet installation and television mounting. Both projects were completed on separate dates within a week of each other - that's how accommodating the owner, Rob, was with the scheduling. He offers a great product, knowledgeable, and very professional. I will definitely use them for future projects and recommend them to others.

My condo came with a high-end home sound system that was top-of-the-line... about 20 years ago , which created some challenges in figuring out how to make older equipment work with modern TVs and technology. Rather than simply telling me to replace everything, he took the time to understand the existing system and came up with creative solutions. What I especially appreciated was that he gave me a two-tier approach: an affordable, practical solution that got everything working beautifully now, while also explaining what I could do in the future if I want to fully restore and maximize the potential of the original home theater system. There was absolutely no pressure to spend more than I wanted to. He got everything installed, mounted, connected, and working on a very tight timeline. Knowledgeable, honest, creative, and genuinely focused on finding the right solution for the customer. Highly recommend!

He was very nice and worked very quickly and efficiently but he needed my help to lift our 77" TV. I do not blame him at all for asking for my help, but I am terribly disappointed he was sent by himself. I politely expressed my disappointment in the price I paid with his company expecting me to help him. He was very apologetic and threw in a cable concealing package which was incredibly thoughtful. I'm writing this review because I was not supposed to be home when the mounting was scheduled. My disabled spouse was going to be the only person here. Had I not been sent home from work early the technician wouldn't have been able to do the service at all! I'm not sure if it was a choice to send one technician from the start or someone didn't show up for work, either way, this should have been rescheduled so the service could be completed as it was paid for. In summary, the mount was adequately done and the technicIan was incredibly professional- his company was not. This review would have been 1 star if it were not for his character.

The handyman Ali Kharamesh was scheduled to arrive at 8:00 a.m., but on the day of the appointment I received a text saying his car broke down and asking if he could arrive between 12-1 p.m. He eventually showed up with an additional handyman, which I never agreed to. All three closets were built incorrectly in the exact same way and did not match the reference image or instructions. When I pointed this out, I was told it must be a manufacturer defect. He throw away pieces of the installation without consent. The closet manufacture confirmed it was incorrectly installed. There were incorrect drilling and the back board was all incorrect. I contacted FixTman customer service and was told to call the manufacturer and that FixTman would pay for replacement parts. However, the store's only option was a full return, which I accepted. FixTman sent another handyman Chris the next day who looked at the previous person's job and told Nihal he could not fix it because some of the primary tools that came with the closet were missing. After that, FixTman - Seattle attempted to charge me extra for the additional handyman I never approved. I was initially promised a full refund, but later received a call offering only a 10% refund instead from Nihal. This company does not stand by its word and does not take responsibility for poor workmanship. I am still trying to obtain the full refund that was promised, and they are unwilling to honor it. Avoid this vendor at all costs. The company proceeded to deny my refund and I filed with Thumbtack who saw the incident gave me $284 fully back.

They were flexible with me possibly having to re-schedule my appointment at the last minute if the cable equipment had not arrived on time. The installation team arrived at the time promised. They were polite, clean and professional. They used shoe covers, which I appreciated. I bought my own bracket and they were very familiar with it. They even uncrated my 85" TV from my move, which required them unscrewing wooden boards -- much more work than simply opening a cardboard box. Then they measured precisely, putting guide tape on the wall that they removed without leaving any marks. They also cut a hole on the wall behind the TV to run the power cord behind the wall to the outlet near the floor. The work was professionally done and looked great. They ran all the cables along the bracket, which was important because the bracket and wall would be visible when I pulled the TV out and swiveled it to seen from the kitchen, dining room or the living room. The whole process took under an hour and they didn't seem to cut any corners. The estimate was not the least expensive I received, but I felt the thoughtful questions they asked before I even accepted their quote, indicated the attention to detail that I wanted -- and I was right. I can't say if all their teams work this well, but the one that came to my house was exceptional.

I had started the job myself but got an anchor screw stuck and figured I should have a pro step in so I didn't wreck my new walls. All the supplies were here, placed where they needed to be, holes were measured and marked for custom made rods and drapes. He charges by the hour and moves very, very slow. He didn't have his own step ladder or anchor screws. In the first hour, he managed to put in 3 screws in holes that had already been marked. He claimed he "needed to remeasure" and that's why it took so long, but he used the holes that I had already marked. He also said it was too hard to do with custom cut rods. He also said it wasn't his fault because I had an anchor screw stuck in the wall already, which was the whole reason I hired him. This is what pros do: they come prepared, know the required materials and techniques, and advise the customer on the best way to proceed. I knew we needed to cut it off when he asked me how to use an anchor screw. He didn't know if you needed to pre-drill or not for a very basic and common anchor. I cannot imagine a professional handyman not knowing that. He used a level to stare at the pre-marked holes for what seemed like an eternity, just eating up time. 3 screws = $200. Seems like a nice enough man, but handyman may not be the profession for him, and that's giving him the benefit of the doubt that he wasn't just trying to take advantage of someone he assumed was too naive too know how long the job should take. He became very defensive, making excuses when I said we'd need to end the job at one hour. Im sure judging by other less than 5 star reviews here (that I really wish I'd have taken the time to read) he will post a very defensive response here as well. Please just don't take a job you don't have the required expertise to complete, and I don't want to hear defensive excuses when I'm still out $200 for almost no work completed.
