Consumer Warning: Do Not Hire FixTman LLC (Washington, D.C.) I would strongly caution anyone against hiring FixTman LLC for TV mounting or installation services. I hired this company through a referral from BJ's Wholesale Club, expecting professional installation. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst service experiences I have ever had. The technician arrived and spent 4 hours mounting my TV. Less than 10 minutes after he left, the TV fell completely out of the wall. After I contacted the company, the technician returned with his father and reinstalled it. That should have been the first red flag. The TV was installed in September 2025. In April 2026, the TV fell out of the wall again -- this time causing serious damage: * Destroyed my TV * Damaged my wall / sheetrock * Left me with additional repair costs I contacted FixTman LLC again, and their response was that they would do nothing because it had been more than 30 days. To make matters worse, Thumbtack Quality Assurance also stepped in and tried to help resolve the issue on my behalf. They contacted FixTman LLC directly, only to be told the exact same thing -- that I only had 30 days and they would not take responsibility. Let that sink in. A properly mounted TV should not fall out of a wall -- not once, and definitely not twice. This was not normal wear and tear. This was poor workmanship, improper installation, and a complete lack of accountability. In over 40 years, I have never seen anything like this. Please do your research before hiring this company. I will also be reporting this experience to BJ's Wholesale Club, since they referred them. Service was scheduled quite quickly as requested, but the back and forth between FixTMan, the actual contractor that did the work was a little wonky, as the contractor would tell me one thing, but the company would say something different. I appreciate the role which FixT serves, but with Yelp as the solicitation platform, it admittedly seems like another unnecessary middleman to go through them. The contractors did miss some minor things with our playground assembly, and unfortunately the price came in higher (without notification), despite my providing the exact model and steps required for assembly at the time of soliciting. The insurability and lack of comprehensive quality guarantees is a little off putting in the end, as even other entities that exclusively use "independent contractors" such as uber, still have additional protections in place for the end customer. Overall, they were good, not perfect. The process was wonky, but worked (for the most part) in the end. I just would prefer to go directly to the contractors in the future. read more

I hired FixTman and do not recommend them to anyone. They outsource their work, and communication was very difficult. The handyman Ali Kharamesh was scheduled to arrive at 8:00 a.m., but on the day of the appointment I received a text saying his car broke down and asking if he could arrive between 12-1 p.m. He eventually showed up with an additional handyman, which I never agreed to. All three closets were built incorrectly in the exact same way and did not match the reference image or instructions. When I pointed this out, I was told it must be a manufacturer defect. He throw away pieces of the installation without consent. The closet manufacture confirmed it was incorrectly installed. There were incorrect drilling and the back board was all incorrect. I contacted FixTman customer service and was told to call the manufacturer and that FixTman would pay for replacement parts. However, the store's only option was a full return, which I accepted. FixTman sent another handyman Chris the next day who looked at the previous person's job and told Nihal he could not fix it because some of the primary tools that came with the closet were missing. After that, FixTman - Seattle attempted to charge me extra for the additional handyman I never approved. I was initially promised a full refund, but later received a call offering only a 10% refund instead from Nihal. This company does not stand by its word and does not take responsibility for poor workmanship. I am still trying to obtain the full refund that was promised, and they are unwilling to honor it. Avoid this vendor at all costs. The company proceeded to deny my refund and I filed with Thumbtack who saw the incident gave me $284 fully back. read more

IIt was a nightmare. I am a positive person, run my own business, and genuinely try to support others. However, this experience was extremely frustrating. I was told my job would be scheduled between 1-3 PM. I confirmed twice the day before that the start time would be 1 PM. At 1:15 PM, there was no show. When I followed up, I was told the technician could arrive anytime between 1 and 3 PM. While frustrating, I accepted this and was then promised arrival by 3 PM. I canceled all of my other appointments and waited. There was no show again past 3 PM. After reaching out (communication, at least, was responsive), I was then told the technician would arrive at 5 PM. At that point, I had no choice but to wait again, despite my concerns. I sent multiple messages to confirm, and was reassured the technician would arrive at 5PM. I clearly explained that I had to leave the office before 7 PM due to my lease. I even called to confirm a 5 PM arrival so the work could be completed on time, and was told "yes." Once again--no show past 5 PM. At that point, I gave up and started looking for alternatives. Then at 5:40 PM, I received a message saying the ETA was now 6:40 PM. I called to cancel immediately, and the technician seemed completely unaware of the situation or why I needed to cancel. This level of miscommunication and disregard for a customer's time is unacceptable. I do not recommend using this business. read more

The company had a handyman come and install my window unit with a bracket. Overall, the unit was installed without damaging anything. The handyman did leave out sealing the gaps in the window to make sure hot air did not enter the room from the outside, but that was easy enough for me to do on my own. I'm not satisfied with FixTman themselves and the fact that when they priced the job up front, FixTman did not include cable concealment for TV mounting. That is a given that anyone would want that to be a part of TV mounting. Who wants a cable dangling from the TV? This company should be more professional and offer clear communication. They were more about sending texts, calling, and emailing repeatedly rather than offering clear communication about what the job would entail. With that said, I won't use this service again. Be clear and up front with your clients is my advice and you'll have more satisfaction from clients. read more

I requested two people to help with a furniture move and rug installation and they said it would cost 3x the amount of one person to do the job. After a lengthy negotiation, we agreed on 2.5x the price for two people. Then on the day of the installation, they send only one person and then they don't respond to a messages or calls. This has been by far the most unprofessional experience I've ever had with a company on Yelp. I scheduled an appointment a week in advance to have curtains installed, and everything seemed fine at first--customer service was prompt and polite in setting it up for today between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. However, the technician never showed up during the scheduled window, nor did anyone provide an update or explanation. I reached out multiple times through Yelp and by phone before finally getting a response. The representative I eventually spoke with was clearly uninformed and unable to explain the delay or provide a new estimated time of arrival. She said she would try calling the technician and get back to me, but made no guarantees--even after I explained I had other commitments and had only set aside time during the originally agreed-upon window. To make matters worse, they offered me a measly 5% discount, despite their clear negligence. Yet if I had canceled last minute, they would've charged me $50--completely unacceptable and hypocritical. I waited an additional 45 minutes with no follow-up. Then, two hours past the original time window, I received a call saying the technician was outside--by that time, I had already left. I told them the service was no longer needed. To top it all off, I was sent an invoice for a service that was never performed. The audacity is astonishing. Hired them to build a Springfree Jumbo Oval trampoline. This is admittedly difficult. Without going into a huge amount of detail, they ignored the directions and skipped attaching the net to the springs first, and then rather than redo their work, they attached it with a rope, which resulted in a slanted and poorly secured net. I had a fixed time this needed to be ready by, and they offered to have the same tech come back out and fix it, which I did not want. I'm unsure if the tech would have been available in time. I did not want to pay due to having to basically undo and redo the hardest part of the build and they threatened me with collections. I do not recommend this company. read more

The customer service reps who handle booking for this company appear to be based at a call center in the Philippines. We tried to hire them to install a pergola on our deck, but they rescheduled on us twice before we decided to cancel. Both times, we were expecting someone to come at 8am, then got a call from their call center telling us the technician would come between 5pm and 7pm instead. This pergola would have taken a minimum of 6 hours to install. We've got two young kids and lots of neighbors, so a late-night construction project makes zero sense. Communication was stilted and often didn't make sense - probably because it was coming from a bunch of different people on the other side of the world. I really recommend you go with someone local instead of this company -- check out horror stories on TrustPilot that talk about them sending "technicians" who don't have any experience in the work they've been hired to do. read more

No one has more excuses and emergencies than a service professional. I don't even want to use the word professional because they weren't even that. My husband and I needed a curtain rod installed w/ heavy duty anchors because our new curtains are heavy. Appt #1: Cancelled with no warning. The company claimed they tried to call my husband multiple times because the "tech had an emergency" and couldn't come. My husband sent screenshots showing he received no calls, WHILE HOME & with service. They admitted they called the wrong number. They charge $20 for customers who cancel w/ less than 24hrs notice, so my husband asked if they would honor that on their end and grant us a $20 discount, they obliged after the admin talked to the owner. Considering we received no warning after clearing our schedule for 2hrs on a Sunday and no one arrived. Appt #2: This tech shows up the next day and tries to charge us an extra $40 for the heavy duty dry wall anchors. He then says "or you can go to Home Depot and buy them" my husband says okay let me take a pic of what you have, THE MAN HIDES THE SCREWS! Covers them up so my husband wouldn't know what to get. Appt #3: Same day as #2. The tech shows up and uses his phone as a stud finder. He drills holes into the hall on the ends for the rod. The right mounting plate is crooked, he says "the wall slopes". Wtf does that have to do w/ you placing a plate on slanted. He then begins drilling for the center bracket WITHOUT using the stud finder, and it doesn't go in. Now he drills to the left and same thing. We now have 4 huge in our wall and no curtains. The tech tells us "that's not my problem". Book with them if you, but God speed. Normally, I do not review a company where the service is subpar, and I did not review them for over a week, but finally had to. They deserve a zero-star rating. The company lists "Appliance Installation" as the first item under their popular services. After my experience, I can readily claim their workers know nothing about appliance installation. Not sure how they hire the workers or if there is a qualification requirement. They sent 2 guys to install a microwave oven in my new kitchen cabinet. The first thing they tell me, which should have warned me, was they do not do electric work, and had not tools or even electric insulation tape with them. They had no answer when I asked how they install a microwave oven without making the electric cable connection. They had to go to home depot to buy some tape. Next, I had to help them to lift the unit and place in the cabinet. I also had to show them the hot and neutral cables (which I also had persuade them by confirming with the installation manual). Can you belive it? They then pushed the unit around a bit and claimed that installation was complete. Due to late arrival and the 45 minutes they waisted to go to home depot, I was late for a meeting, so I did not take the time to remove the tapes and papers covering the cabinets, used by the painters who had been working in the kitchen. So, it was not feasible to check if the upper cabinet opened properly. They electronic invoice was emailed about 1.5 hours after the workers had left my house. Within less than 5 minutes I get another email stating "I attempted to contact you but was unable to reach you. I am writing to address the outstanding invoice for services provided on the 1st of December." When I complained how it was not even 5 minutes sine i had received the invoice, the response was "We apologize, but we need to close the job once the service has been completed." I made the payment and informed that it would be the last time I would give them any business. At this point, I was mainly upset in how they were pushing for the payment, not completely aware how poor their service was. That is why I did not even submit a review. My blood was boiling after I learned today that these installers practically had done nothing. zilch... This was after my kitchen cabinet installer came over to place the DW panel, now that we had purchased and connected the DW. I asked him to check out the mircowave-oven cabinet. Immediately, he said that all these other 2 guys had done was to place the microwave-oven inside the cabinet. No more. The unit was still sticking out more than it should and after he removed the papers covering the upper cabinet (placed by the painters) and aligned the unit properly, the upper cabinets did not open. He had to take out the entire unit, readjust the metal bars holding the cabinet bottom shelf, put the unit back, realign again, and screw to the unit to the cabinet. It took him over 1 hour. In summary, I paid $249 for them to take a new microwave-oven out of the packing, lift it up with my help and place inside the cabinet, oh, after I identified the hot and neutral cables so they could tape them to the kitchen power cables. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY ANY BUSINESS. THEIR CREW HAS NO QUALIFICATION, AND MY EXPERIENCE SUGGESTS BUSINESS IS A SCAM. read more

The estimate did not include tax, and FixTman did not mention additional fees for using Apple Pay. I requested a refund for the additional fees and am still waiting for a response. I think it's always helpful to add "plus tax" to an estimate, review the bill before requesting payment, and inform customers of the potential for additional fees. read more

I asked for a quote to assemble a basketball hoop. They were the first to respond. Very professional and used their website to book an appointment for the next morning. The morning comes and it rained earlier in the morning. Three techs show up and talk me into doing it later in the day because of the threat of rain. I explained that it was a surprise for my son who would be home the next day. They said they would come later in the day. Then I get a text asking to move it the next day. I immediately responded to just cancel. They responded and said they would come between 2-3pm. I asked the tech if they were sure because I needed to find someone else and they begged me to say yes. Then they texted me and said 7pm which is after sunset (in the dark) and I asked to cancel again. Now I'm upset because they go talk me into doing it and then they back out. I asked them to stop texting me and just cancel. Then I get a text from a manager. I asked them to just stop. This company has great ratings and they do communicate. It's why I gave them 2 stars. But I was perplexed why 3 techs would just build the hoop in 20-40 mins. With that many hands and tools, it doesn't take long. Now I have no basket. My son saw the box and I told him I would build it this weekend - slowly due to bad back. Just make sure they lock down schedule and can commit to the scheduled time. read more

I requested to have a tv mounted through Thumbtack in my apartment and the tech arrived explaining he couldn't use the mount I provided because of the studding in the wall. He later said he would be able to do it but cannot be held responsible for any damages that might incur. (Mind you he diddnt speak any English and had to call someone to help translate and explain to me why he couldn't complete the job) I accepted that he would not be able to do it and he left. I called another company who later confirmed the studding in my wall were fine, the FixTman tech just diddnt have a proper stud finder. I never paid for the service through the invoice or in person because I never received a service. A couple days later they called back saying they could send someone who was able to mount my tv with the mount I have but unfortunately they were already too late and I explained to them how disappointed I was with the customer service and the turn of events. Weeks later I get a random email to pay an invoice for a TRAMPOLINE ASSEMBLY??? I never requested that service or had any further communication with this company since they failed to complete my job WEEKS ago. I ignored the invoice and didn't even open it. Now today they call me and tell me they are on their way to install my trampoline??? I told them they clearly have mixed something up on their end because I never signed up for anything else from them after the experience I had, mind you I live in an apartment, why would I need a trampoline?? They them email a screenshot of communication they had with another individual the same name, but the email address and property location was different and in a completely different STATE. The card listed on the invoice was not even my card. So not o my did they confuse/mix up something or their end, they leaked someone's PERSONAL INFORMATION to me. BEWARE! I will never use this company again. I'm not sure if yesterday was a bad day for my technician but I asked for the television to be mounted as close to the outlet as possible as that is the middle of the room. I showed the technician physically and gave him a point of reference. As he was getting ready to mount the tv, he asked the height. He was still in the spot that I requested. He started receiving text after text and back to back phone calls... taking the personal calls on speaker phone while doing the job. I left the room so that he could complete his call. I'm not sure if everything going on during the call made him disoriented or what (he was upset that he was asked to do a job in MD and negotiating prices) but he hung the tv about 6 inches from the doorway. When I came back into the room, I told him that he had placed it wrong. He looked down and realized that he was not in the correct place and instead of rectifying the issue he said 'oh don't worry, this slides'. I slid it all the way over and it wasn't even close to being centered (the pic is included). He kinda just looked at me like 'oops' and said that he had to take pictures to send to the company. I paid the invoice and was asked by the company was I satisfied with the service. I said no and they asked for an explanation. I texted the company what happened and then they went radio silent until I told them I would be posting this review with the texts included. A QC rep named Yolandi called me and said that someone would be out to assist later that day or today and ... you guessed it... NOTHING. Very disappointing service. If you decide to use them, please micro manage the GROWN man that is coming to help you. I should've but didn't want to be rude and sit there while he was on the phone the whole time. I feel very disappointed in the service provided by this company and would advise others to stay away. The technician came out to the house 3 times, each time creating another problem he then needed to come back to fix. I requested a refund from the company and they stated they could only provide another technician which after 3 attempts is not acceptable. The technician that arrived does not speak English well, so there did seem to be a communication barrier, which I would have been absolutely fine working through if he tried to communicate more. Day 1 1. I told him I wanted the top of the tv mounted 2 inches about the outlet in the wall, he mounted it about 8 inches above the outlet and since my room is narrow he had to take the bracket off and drill more holes in my wall, even now it is a little high, as he didn't measure. 2. He put the bracket on backwards, and attempted to put the tv on where there were no hooks until I explained to him how the bracket worked and he unbolted it and reversed it. 3. He stated that the wall covers to hide wires behind the wall that I purchased didn't have a bracket for the wall, so we would come back the next day and do it for me. I had purchased these covers with the help of my friend who had previously done his own home improvement and used these exact covers, so I didn't really understand why he couldn't use them. Day 2 1. When he returned he went to mark out where he was going to cut into the plaster to hide the wires and he didn't ask me where I would like them or take into account all of ports on the tv are on the left side and started to put it under the right side. Fortunately I was paying attention to point out the fact that installing it where he initially put it would make the wires traverse the entire length of the tv behind the wall, and have us buy all new, longer HDMI cords. 2. He then cut a hole behind the tv which was in a good position but then the one below he didn't line up and put about 8in to the left. I asked him why he didn't line it up and he didn't have an explanation and told me the wire would still work. I told him I wanted it lined up so he cut another hole below it, which is better aligned but definitely not measured or exact. He said he would come back to fix the hole with plaster and paint. This is when I first called your company to make you aware of the poor job. Day 3 1. He came back and plastered over the spot and without letting it dry immediately painted so he couldn't get it smooth. He said he needed to come back and paint/sand more. 2. He didn't put any painters tape on our new outlets so he got paint and plaster all over the floor and outlets. He is a very nice person but he does not do a professional job. His work is sloppy, thoughtless and now I am going to fix the wall. This has cost me so much time. read more

If you need someone to install a garbage disposal for you, don't use FixTman. They can't wire the cord to the unit because of their company policies. Most of the new garbage disposals don't come with cord attached. Attaching the cord to the unit is not a job requires a licensed electrician. I have the new garbage disposal, cord kit ready, and I have existing pluming and electrical outlet. But FixTman can't complete the garbage disposal installation. Mehdi was simply amazing and God sent! I moved into a new place and was told by movers prior to hiring they would I mount my tvs. Well needless to say that was a lie. They told me upon arrival they would not be able to I mount my tvs which ended up leaving me in a bind as I had already scheduled with FixTman to mount the tv. I called FixTman customer service and spoke with someone and told them the situation. Mehdi stepped in and aAid he would unmount and mount the tv for me.
