So the office moved to Paramount back in January and I was SO AFRAID I wouldn't be able to find good Asian comfort food! I don't remember how I came across this place but I'm so glad I did. The office orders lunch here for us about once a week and sometimes I order takeout to bring home to my family after work! It's seriously THAT GOOD! Some of my favorite dishes here(I order everything EXTRA spicy and they never disappoint! But even if the chef is feeling a bit shit that day, they give you Thai chili's soaked in fish sauce. So it's all good!): - Pad Thai: Seriously. If a Thai restaurant doesn't make good Pad Thai, they need to just quit! The noodles here are nice and chewy and the flavor is yums! - Shrimp Fried Rice: I LOVE the shrimp here! It's so meaty and cooked perfectly every time! I hate those places that give you the cheap shrimp that feel water logged or overcooked and rubbery, YUCK! The fried rice here has so much flavor and the squeeze of lime at the end marries everything together into the happiest bite of fried rice your tongue will hold onto for the rest of it's dear life - Pad See Ew: I usually HATE pad see ew but I actually really like it here! Usually it just tastes like Hong Kong beef chow fun to me, and if I'm eating that I might as well go to a good Chinese restaurant for It! But their spice blend is so delish here, I've never had an issue with it tasting like beef chow fun! Now on to the really good stuff - Chicken Panang Curry (with $1 Thai Eggplant): OMG!!! I've never had Panang the way they make it here! It's so creamy, and curry-y, and umami-y. Seriously, just an orgasm in your mouth! Especially when you get it extra freaking spicy and then you just have all these flavors exploding all over your tastebuds and you just don't know what to do so you sit there spazzing all over the place with curry in your mouth hoping no one sees how weird you're being over a curry! You're seriously missing out if you don't try this here! -Spicy Fish Ball with Chili and Mint (with Thai Eggplant added): This dish is like some sort of yummy spicy fish cake stew. The fish cake tastes and feels homemade and the sauce is SO FREAKING INCREDIBLE with their sticky rice! This dish tastes like a Vietnamese dish my grandmama used to make for me growing up, so I get some serious feels eating this! And last but not least, you'll need to order their Thai Iced Tea to wash everything down with! They have an extra large cup for take out that's the same size as a large soup container! I'm pissed that they even allowed that food to come out of their kitchen. Their crispy pork was precooked, sliced, deep fried, and left in the fridge for at least a week . It was so dead dry my dog found a hard time chewing it. We complained but , instead of fixing it, the server just said "oh it was?" and walked away. Very insulting! Noodles need to soak in water longer before hitting the wok. Then that should fix it. The curry was good enough but maybe too pungent for most folks. I cook SEA foods so I liked it. The Thai boat noodle pass the taste test. This was the best thing I ordered. But even after saying that a good Thai boat noodle should have more of a sour and spice and salt after taste, where sweet is subtle. But this boat noodle seem to have more of a sweet after taste. But i still enjoyed it. I orders spicy but I still needed to add more dry chili flakes, jalopeno and chili paste to my bowl. I have a very very high tolerance to spicy. Company lunch took us here all the way from Torrance to Downey for some home-made Thai food. It seems either they know the owner or they just missed home-cooked meals. The food here certainly felt very homey and I could even feel that while I was there, I was totally surrounded by Thai people who loves to come there for lunch as a group as well. I've tried their crispy pork with chinese broccoli, Kra pow, boat noodle, shrimp omelette, squid salad, bbq ribs, and fried shrimp roll. The best meal I ever ate there is the kra pow, it came with the fried egg if you want, it's optional. You can adjust the level of spiciness, just tell the server (I presumed it's the wife's owner). The boat noodle here is uber large, it's good for sharing. The crispy pork and chinese broccoli is also pretty good, I liked it. The squid salad was pretty refreshing, it was like a surprise order on our last trip there. As long as I stay working in this company, I would definitely always come back here with the whole crew for lunch once in a while and yes, most of the time, it's all company paid. read more

One of the most delicious Thai Restaurants I've been to. All I can say is you should defiantly get the Beef Salad. It is so good, and for your main dish. Try and get Mint Leaf Ground Pork over rice. Very tasteful and you should also add fish sauce with cut up chili to your every bite. The service here is good, they are on point. I've been coming to this place for several times already. My last review until Easter (and yes, I'm giving up Yelp reviewing for Lent). It was my last night in So. Cal. and before my boyfriend took me to the airport, we grabbed some dinner. We Yelped nearby open restaurants and this place came up with a high rating so we decided to pay them a visit. We ordered the Tom Yung Soup (medium spiced) and Thai Beef Fried Rice. The food came out quick with a friendly service, and the food was pretty good. It was much better than the Thai food we had at the Food Festival. The soup was so spicy, our sinuses cleared and started sweating but it didn't stop us from eating. I'm not huge on spicy food, but I'll gladly endure heart burn for this soup. The fried rice was a little greasy but it was one of the best tasting fried rice I've had in a long time. Plus, it didn't have a lot of peas, carrots, etc. in which I call "fillers." It was rice, egg, meat and some veggies. We had leftovers of the rice so I was able to bring it up north and have it for dinner, which still tasted as good as it was in the restaurant. Location: Okay, I'm not just saying this because I had recently found out that my friend's mom works here, but this place is totally awesome! This is one of the most authentic Thai restaurant in town. My mom noted that she never fails to see a Thai customer when she dines here. And sure enough, there was a party of Thai customers next to us that night. We came in rather late but there was still other customers. It took awhile for the waitress to get to our water, but she came back consistently throughout the night to refill our water. We ordered: Tom Yum soup - served deliciously hot and spicy in a traditional pot Red curry - creamy and just the way we like it Papaya salad - just salty enough to have the tang that I like (how come restaurants never cut up the cabbage? It's like not I can chew that up in one bite @-@ ) Pla Dad deow (fish) - good but not memorable Pad ped moo par (pork stir fried with chili paste, thai eggplant, and rhizome) I don't know what to compare this with... I guess like the Taiwanese pork with eggplant but not really, ha ha... I've never had Thai eggplants before; they look like half-transparent, tiny watermelons. =P In general, the food here is spicy. We ordered medium spiciness for our food and we were all sweating at the end of the night. If you're used to Asian spicy food from Japan, China, Taiwan, etc, you're in for a surprise. But if you can take spiciness of Malaysian, Thai, and Korean cuisine, you'll definitely be able to enjoy yourself fully. You may wonder... where's the usual Thai restaurant stuff.. pad see ew, pad Thai, Thai BBQ Chicken...? Well, they have those too, but why come to an authentic Thai place to get dishes that you can get anywhere else? Entrée: Pad See-Ew ($6.95)- loaded with crispy broccoli, these sticky flat noodles are the perfect mix of sweet and savory. Treasure Pot makes the best in the region. Dessert: You **MUST** get the Roti ($2.00) - this warm and gooey fried Thai crêpe filled with sweetened caramelized condensed milk... try not to orgasm and disturb the other patrons. I suspect Treasure Pot makes the best south of Los Angeles (*!*See note). Drink: The Thai Iced Tea ($1.75 small | $3.00 large) - is especially rich and milky... slightly sweeter than regional average. -------------------------------------- Trillance's Detailed Experience: Although the restaurant is a bit hidden in the plaza, you'll see it from afar due to its holiday icicle lights hanging down their front window. Although it has limited decoration and has a "hole in the wall" feel, it is very clean, the service is very fast, and the prices are great. There are two television screens, usually showing popular American television, just loud enough to hear, not loud enough to bother any conversations. They also keep a well stocked magazine and newspaper collection. The table includes the basic Thai condiments including hot peppers, chili flakes, etc. but does not include crushed peanuts. The place also displays a few goods to sell, such as Rice Patty deserts, Taro Chips and Dok Jok. I last went on Monday 03/21/2011, on my own, and ordered the following: Spring Rolls ($4.95, misbilled as $5.95) Fried Wonton ($4.95), Chicken Pad Thai ($7.95), Chicken Yellow Curry ($7.95), Beef Pad See-Ew ($6.95), small Thai Iced Tea ($1.75) and Roti ($2). My order ($37.50 with the dollar error, before taxes and tip) was enough to feed 4-6 people (the leftovers fed me for my next 4 meals, and I eat like the average American... that is, a bit more than I should). The service was incredible! As I entered the restaurant, the staff responded to my Thai greeting in Thai, and guided me through the ordering process with a fluent English. They were also willing to spend a few moments to teach me a few new words and expressions in Thai, all with warmth and patience. The best items are placed in the summary above. The Pad Thai, usually my benchmark for evaluating Thai restaurants was slightly better than average, in a slightly smaller portion that I'm used to, and would have earned The Treasure Pot a score of 4 stars... however, the Pad See-Ew and Roti being the best I had eaten in over two years, the restaurant was redeemed to its fifth star. (*!* Note: I consider the Roti at The Treasure Pot to be the best south of LA, although I have to admit I've only been to about 50 Thai restaurants south of LA... if I'm wrong, then the Roti is nonetheless 'to die for'). The Spring rolls were good, but were nothing beyond than what I would expect. The Yellow Curry was well presented with a coconut coulis, the dish was rich and the meat was fall-apart tender. Don't forget to order jasmine rice for it (they forgot to offer it to me, but got me some under a minute's time when I asked for it). When asked how spicy I wanted the Yellow Curry, I asked for "Very spicy!"... I estimate the plate being around 180 Scoville HU, and thus if you like things to sting, you may want to add a couple 'very's to your request. Honestly not sure how this place has the stars it does. I order from this place for the first time in hopes for some decent pad Thai and boy I was disappointed. I ordered 2 chicken pad thai's, 1 chicken noodle, wontons, golden shrimp, and steamed rice. The pad Thai and chicken noodle were extremely bland and extremely dry! Usually even with bad pad Thai you'd be okay but this just was very sad even for bad pad Thai. The wontons were probably the only decent thing and decent as in they were bearable compared to the rest. The golden shrimp did not look as pictured from previous yelpers. They were very skimpy and flavorless. Ohh and the steamed rice was also decent but I mean it's hard to mess up steamed rice when you're using a rice maker. Overall, bad!!! This has got to be one of my favorite Thai restaurant. Being Cambodian, and growing up in Thailand I have an appreciation for authentic Cambodian and Thai food. Let me tell you, this place taste so authentic, straight from the kitchen of your mom's or auntie. Not to mentioned the pricing as well!
