We ordered appetizers and some beverages. We talked for a long time because our server was busy but eventually we ordered. One of my friends ordered a Cubano. She couldn't eat it all and was traveling out of state, so she decided not to take the other half of the sandwich with her and gave it to me. I brought it home. I regret that. It is not tasty nor made traditionally. The ingredients were below par and not tasty. The creation of the sandwich was different. The restaurant was very busy because there were many people. I heard the hostess say to someone they had overbooked. That's good for a restaurant but if it means you can't cook tasty food. I think that's a poor decision. As far as I'm concerned I'll wait and I'll pay more for authenticity. The Cubano has no flavor and the wrong type of bread was used. SMH. Take your time and offer your customers good Cuban food. We'll wait. I remember back in the day when I wanted delicious Cuban food I went downtown to 52nd St to Victor's. Victor is no longer but there is a Havana Cafe in the Bronx on Tremont Ave. Make tasty food again.

Now, as for the main dishes, some left more to be desired and some less to be desired. 1. The fried whole fish was excellent, very tasty and fried perfectly. 2. Two fried pork-chops w/red rice and potato salad. This dish was also good. Only thing undesirable was the potato salad, actually it tasted like commercial potato salad, bland and mayonnaisey. 3. Prime skirt steak, cooked very well as requested and delicious. Now, that yuca manchego mash that is served with the steak is definitely a big NO. It's Yuca, why mess it up by smothering it with oily globby cheese. 4. Havana chicken. The plating was pretty. But pretty isn't enough, it needs to taste good and this dish just didn't have flavor. Basic chicken and white rice with black beans in water. (The beans literally looked like they were served in the water they were soaked in). 5. The final dish was mofongo in a garlic sauce. No, absolutely not....not worth ordering. The mofongo alone had good texture and flavor, but when you sit it on a soaking bath of what tasted like mayo ketchup w garlic it's a an unsavory mess. Now, I know your motto indicates you offer a blend of cultural influences for a contemporary Latin experience but the Latin culture has Sazon and flavor and some of those dishes just lacked that. Would I recommend Coquito Blu, yes go get your drinks and appetizers...but go have dinner somewhere else.

Let me start with my friends told me to skip this place but my girl has been asking me to try this place since she read reviews that the food was really good. Ok. We decided to visit and try it out. Place was small but nice. We were greeted by a female server who took our drink order. We ordered Red sangria which I thought was really good. We then ordered appetizers (Chorizzo and a seviche). We then ordered our main meals (churassco for my girl medium well and for me the churassco medium rare, chicken and lobster). My chorizzo appitizer came out and was good. After that was finished we waitied about 15 minutes on the ceviche which never came out. I flagged down the server and asked her about it and she told us she never put in for the order (but she wrote it down and repeated it on her pad initially) but it's a small appetizer and she can get it now if we liked. My girl said no since our main dishes were already on the way. The server shrugged it off and walked away. Our dinners came and let me explain the food. The presenataion was awesome. My girls churassco not so much. Well done and very tough. Maduros with an after taste. My churassco well done. (I can remember asking for medium) chicken was decent and the lobster was really good but my maduros had an after taste as well. Now my churassco was also very tough but I was hungry. I had to ask for some sort of sauce to cover my churassco because it was served to me dry. Ok. Minor details left out but I'm trying to make the best of this. Now for my lobster I needed butter so I flagged down my server again to please get me some along with some sauce for my churassco. After about a 10 minutes I was brought some sauce and I was brought a small cup of butter. When I say butter I'm talking about not melted it looked like someone took a butter knife grabbed some butter out of the container and smushed into the small cup and sent it out. I needed melted butter for my LOBSTER not whipped butter for TOAST! I have to say for the $$$ charged at this establishment details mean the most especially when the neighborhood has other establishments with far better food. For me the food was subpar. My server you had to continue to flag down. She didn't even come to ask how the food was or more sangria please? Establishment lost out because I would have ordered another pitcher since it was good. I think my table had a force field so it prevented my server from getting to my table. Now I have to say the person filling the water which was filled every 5 minutes was the best thing. Here is a tip. If you don't like what you do as a server then don't do it and quit especially when a tip is automatically included on my bill. Yes automatically 18% for bad service. Lets encourage bad service by just adding it to the bill. I will not be coming back nor will I recommend this place. Bad all around and one more thing stop blasting the music so loud that you need to yell across the table so if you're with someone they can hear you. read more

My recent visit to Travesias was a delightful culinary experience, despite some service delays. The atmosphere was pleasant, and while the service was a bit slow, the staff was friendly and attentive. Now, on to the food right: The chicken skewers were bursting with flavor, setting a delicious tone for the meal. They were tender and juicy, making them a standout appetizer, in our case it served as a protein with side of rice. The empanadas were crispy and come in very unique presentation dangling/ suspended the air on the dish.. umm ok? Thought it was unique - authentic flavor was there. They were served with a guac sauce that added a refreshing kick. The oxtail and rice dish was comforting and satisfying, with tender oxtail and flavorful rice that blended together beautifully. It was a hearty dish that offered a robust and satisfying flavor. Very authentic tasting! The mashed potatoes were creamy and paired wonderfully with the salmon. The tostones sliders were a creative and enjoyable dish, with crispy plantain discs serving as buns for tender beef and a zesty red onions. They provided a delightful mix of textures and flavors. Tried this place out again after trying it out about a 2 months ago. Figured I'd give it another chance before writing a review. Should of stayed away! Came in with a friend sat in small corner because the table we asked for in the center had a reserved sign but the place was empty as the table itself the entire 2hrs we were there remained empty. Waitress took are drink orders and food orders and after that never saw her again until I got up to find her and ask for the bill. Honestly food was just OK (steak was TOUGH and chewy) very bland, service was HORRIBLE. OVERPRICED AND 18% GRATUITY AUTOMATIC, seriously!! For bad service???!! Way better places on Tremont for what this place is doing. Too bad I wanted to really like this place. Would not return or recommend. read more

Very satisfied customer! I enjoyed the food, the service, the venue itself and more. I have recommended this restaurant to others and they have enjoyed as much as I have. So far, I have had the pleasure of trying the Chuleton, Panko Chicharron de Pollo, To'Chimi Sliders, Sweet Potato Fries, Argentinian Gaucho Pincho and their Argentinian Gaucho Skirt Steak and it has all been so delicious. Great portion sizes and very delicious. And if you have room for dessert, I tried their China Town Cheese Cake Rolls and OMG, it was beyond this world delicious! Definitely my choice of restaurant. It was Orgasmagorical!!. Yes, that is what I said. Every morsel of deliciousness sent me to a fantasy world. It was an explosion of all my favorite foods, (Chinese, Indian, Italian and Puerto Rican, Dominican). What a way to spend my Saturday afternoon. My family members laughed at how I oohed and awed after every bite, but truth I couldn't stop. Kudos to Brian for this brain child of yours is a winner. The service and atmosphere was also very good. There drinks are always great and they definitely hit. The food is always the bomb too. I really like coming here so much that I've even ordered out. It is quite expensive but its definitely worth every cent it also keeps out the ratchets. That cook though in the back is the best because I've had almost every plate and I haven't been disappointed. I'm a cook myself and that's a lot for me to say because a lot of the time its not as easy just to eat someone else's food. read more

Got there at opening to try their cuisine and specially their rizzoto with ox tail. What a disappointment first we were told way before sitting us or serving us water that we had one hour and 30 minutes for our stay there. Talk about welcome to our restaurant and than tell me your policies. The menu is very rich and not accurate so call beforehand to see if they have what you want. My wife and I went to Travesias for Sunday brunch yesterday. It was our first time at this restaurant but it will certainly not be the last. Everything about this restaurant was right. All the staff had the trappings of St Patrick's Day which added to the festive atmosphere in the restaurant. The service was terrific and everyone was extremely friendly. Nana pizza- Delicious, spices are balanced Cielo, Mar y Tierra- Satisfying, the right amount for 2 without having that "stuffed" feeling Everyone enjoyed their food, they also sand happy birthday! I used to love this restaurant until today. It was my mom's birthday and from the moment we walked in we got treated like shit! I always go after work for happy hour, etc. The owner was not there. I was giving a friend a tour of the city and they said that we were close to a place that a friend highly recommended to her, skeptical I went because she was very persistent, it was not my favorite place but she seemed to enjoy it. So my obsession was immediate and continued till this day. The chicken is just out of this world. I can't even fathom how they make it. They absolutely have to marinate it and slow cook it for hours. It's packed with immense flavor. Just soaked in the skin all the way down to the meat. I'm salivating just thinking about it now as it's in my fridge haha. That's the best part of this place imo. The rice is equally good. And we've had the lomo Saltado which is fries soaked in a savory sauce with onions and meat. Very good flavor as well. Chicken was very tender and you can tell that they marinated the chicken before cooking it. I saw buffalo wings and tacos coming out of the kitchen. I didn't see that on the menu. I suggest you ask if there are any specials for the day. For my drinks, at first I tried their rum punch and it had a nice flavor. The punch they use gave it a unique flavor. After that, I stuck to Margaritas for the rest of the night. Their Margaritas were good too, not too tart. They had a DJ who was mixing up a variety of hits for everyone. The mixologist was very pleasant and did an awesome job at making drinks and mingling with the crowd. I will definitely come back now that they are expanding on the weekly events.

Rather than acknowledging the inconvenience or apologizing for the confusion, the restaurant chose to challenge my account. I have no reason to misrepresent what happened. My review reflects exactly what my group experienced that evening. This isn't about expecting to be served after closing. It's about arriving during the posted business hours at two separate locations and being turned away both times. If the kitchen closes early or there is a last-seating policy, that information should be clearly posted online and at the restaurant. Customers shouldn't have to guess whether "open" actually means the business is still serving guests. For a restaurant that has received so much praise, I expected far better customer service and accountability. Great food can earn awards, but honesty, consistency, and respect for customers are what earn loyalty. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend making a special trip here unless you're prepared for the possibility that the posted hours may not reflect when they'll actually serve customers.
