Jan 9, 2026 (Friday) : My neighbors invited me to go to this restaurant and try their food since I am a foodie and critic. To my surprised, I was very surprised with their hospitality and their food. The host, owner went around to see how is everything going. What is outstanding they gave us an order not what we requested and did acknowledge right away and replaced and let us have the order at no charge.This is how a business is run , so my hat goes off , I as a business owner. The food was delicious and their drinks were outstanding.Had the following: 1: DomiRiqueno Pastelon, 2: Pork Mofngo 3: Bangkok Calamari 4: Home made Churros. There were other dishes we had as well. The food was blended well and seasoned. I as well as my neighbors enjoyed their excellent cuisine. I like to thank the staff, especially ISAMAL, our waitress for her kindness, and professionalism in making sure we were satisfied with their service and food and special thanks goes out to the Owner Sandra for making sure her staff took care of us and we were satisfied. I definitely will come back again. I normally don't go to restaurants in The Bronx because their food and service are not up to my standards. I travel a lot and enjoy giving reviews on restaurants. Travesías has street metered parking in the Throgs Neck section of the Bronx-my old stomping grounds. There is also outdoor seating. We decided to sit inside because it was a bit hot outside and inside were several empty two seater tables. A large party of more than 15ppl were seated, a table of 3ppl, and several couples at other tables. The place is tastefully decorated with a beautiful 3D aesthetic pleasing wall mural of a woman's face. 2 bathrooms were neat and clean. Food was delicious, and presentation was awesome. We ordered their sampler that comes in a 3 tier serving tray: coconut shrimp, calamari, chicken and steak skewers, wings(the only thing that didn't seem fresh and did not taste like sweet Thai chili-and we eat sweet Thai chili a lot -that's how I know), mini bite size various meat/seafood empanadas with the outer dough having a normal red or black coloring. The 3 chimi sliders were very tasty and the guacamole and yaniqueque -flat dough that is deep fried and crispy. Services although excellent seemed very slow. It is not uncommon to find service slower when there are less people in the establishment because staff will go about setting up their station, cleaning without noticing that people are waiting for water, ready to order food or drink or asking for the check. I empathized with a woman who I noticed sat by herself, slightly annoyed to wait to place an order her great looking fish-she had to signal a server to come take her order--by this time there are still several empty tables. Friends took me here to celebrate my birthday, we had a great time! Specially because they gave us a free round of tequila shots for the table to celebrate my b'day. The appetizer platter was perfect for all of us and the lobster and steak presents was awesome. It is my friend favorite spot and I just can't wait to go back!!! Brunch w/ Bae! I wasn't expecting Travesias to be such a tight space. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon around 12:45pm and it was PACKED! Only two tables were available so we took the one furthest to the back and right next to the bar. Tables are sooo close together. The party next to us was dining with a baby and I felt like we were all dining together. The wait staff could barely get by me without bumping into me or the table. Our waitress was very nice but everything took such a long time. 20mins for the drink order to come out. 45mins for the apps to come out. 1 hour and 30 mins for the entrees to come out. She was apologetic about the wait but gosh. By the time my entree came out it was almost time for my BF to head to work so we weren't able to actually enjoy the meal. Sancocho as an appetizer was very good and flavorful. There's a set limited brunch menu where you pick an app, entree and dessert. It was great. The food was amazing. My Churrasco was tender and a very good portion. My drinks were strong. The waitress was super attentive and came by to check on us frequently but not hovering. First time coming here and I was not disappointed! I came with my service pup and he was welcomed kindly which I really appreciated. The staff was super nice and quick on their feet, I felt that I didn't have to ask for anything cause they knew exactly what to do! They had great music, great layout of the space. The place is beautiful, clean, well decorated and feels welcoming for everyone. In the short time that I was there a lot of people came in, I could tell people really enjoy the vibe here. We came in for brunch around 2pm it was fairly busy and got busier during our time there. Even though it was busy, the servers came around often and refilled our water. This place is smaller than it looks in the pictures. They have cool floral mural artwork on the walls inside, and the outside seating is very casual. They have a DJ, and he played a great mix of Latin music. The music was beyond loud, but I loved it, especially the bachata! We got the brunch special that includes an appetizer, entrée and dessert. The menu is a mix of seafood and Latin inspired dishes. I went with the sancocho and Lomo saltado, and my friends both picked the French toast and tres golpes. The sancocho had great flavor, but it was room temperature, I wished they would have served it hot. The Lomo saltado was very good! I tried my friend's tres golpes and the bechamel sauce threw me off. I'm glad I went with the Lomo saltado. I would go back to try out more from the menu and to enjoy the loud music. read more

I recently visited this spot after getting a word of mouth review from a friend who recently went for a celebration. This place is far smaller than I expected, but the food, prices, and specials are really good. I came during a 2x1 happy hour and tried their mojitos. The passion fruit felt unbalanced, but the guava mojito was really good. I wish I ordered it twice. I purchased the elite surf & turf and it did not disappoint. A delicious, large ribeye, hanging lobster tail, truffle Mac, and a table-side drizzling sauce display made this meal memorable. The only thing I wish to change about there place are the sizes of the table. It almost feels as if each person should have their own individual table, but again, the place is small. I had the rib-eye which was so gigantic I could not eat all of it. The drinks were nice with the lemon infused ice cubes to add. Appetizers were a hit ! I'm happy I get to write another good review for a deserving restaurant. My husband just recently visited on January 2nd for our anniversary and enjoyed ourselves. We went earlier in the evening, so there were only two other tables being occupied. Right away, I was captivated by the decor and could not stop saying "wow this place is beautiful". It was a little quiet which was perfect for us. We had a waiter who was setting up the tables, taking our order, and eating at the same time. Can you say multitasker? He was sweet! There was one bartender who was occupied by a guest at the bar, in which I believe she knew. We started off with the empanada appetizer and it had 3 different dipping sauces. One was filled with pork, one with chicken, and the other with sea food. They were so hot and good but so little and we wanted more lol! The sauces were composed of one spicy, one sweet, and one similar to bbq. All of them good but our favorite we agreed on was the white sauce in the middle. My husband ordered the Oxtail meal and I ordered the Lobster Mofongo without eel sauce. The oxtails were literally falling off the bone and so tender, rice and beans were cooked to perfection and so moist!! Plantains were delicious but he felt the sauce it came with was too salty so he used the previous sauces from the empanadas. My lobster tail was huge and the Mofongo was okay. I seem to like his rice more since it was a little more moist side. Pros: 1. Beautiful Restaurant 2. Good Service 3. Enough food to share and have for leftovers 4. Food amazing 5. I had a reservation but the place probably had about 5-6 couples or small groups so it wasn't crowded. It took at least 45 mins to get the menu then another 20 mins so the waitress could return to take our order and food arrived probably 1 hour later. It was to the point where I put a timer on my phone and said it the timer goes off we're leaving! It was Monday around 7pm. It was not crowded and enough waitress to help around. When the food came out it was delicious but I'm not sure if it's that I was starving or it actually tasted good. One of my friends wanted to try this restaurant out for her birthday so we came here. We ordered the Travesias sampler and I ordered the shrimp mofonguitos separately. The sampler had chicken skewers, steak skewers, empanada, chicken wings and shrimp tempura. My favorite out of all the sample protein was the shrimp tempura since it was nicely crispy and had a coconut sauce on it. Unfortunately the shrimp mofonguitos were too salty for me. The shrimp was fine and tasted good but the actual mofonguito it was displayed on top of had too much salt. I ain't trying to get high blood pressure. Overall, I liked the atmosphere and recommend the sampler as a meal if you want to try a little bit of everything. read more

5 out of 5! Did I go because I saw this place on TikTok absolutely! Was it worth the hype??? YES, 100 times YES! I Can see this place being full of energy on a weekend night. The staff is great, they give you your space and nothing feels rushed. The food! The drinks! Wow, my compliments to the chef. The Latin fusion is evident throughout all of the dishes. The best part for me was none of the food is salty. Usually you find this with arroz chaufa or anything with seafood but there plates have flavor not salt. I highly recommend this place. I went during happy hour and the mojitos are included which is phenomenal. They had an large variety of flavors and tried both the tamarind and mango mojitos- bomb. As for the food, I shared a two person meal that included, macaroni and cheese, steak, and a lobster tail. Plenty of food for the both of us,though I wish we each had our own lobster tail. This is a great spot for date night, or happy hour with friends. People dress somewhat casually here and some are dressed to go out, so keep that in mind when you come. But deffffff check it out. We were greeted upon entering the restaurant and there was no wait to be seated. You can also make reservations for the restaurant. The menu was on a QR code which I thought was really cool. Our waiter was very attentive. They kept checking on us to make sure everything was okay. We received our food rather quickly. The presentation of the food was absolutely beautiful. I ordered The Tamarind Airline Chicken. To be honest I was worried of how it would taste I was afraid the sauce would overpower the chicken but it was absolutely delicious. We choose to sit inside. The music was very loud but it was good music so we did not mind. A waitress came by and told us about the QR code menu and gave us water. 3.5 We wantedvto try this spot for awhile now and decided to finally check it out. The restaurant was smaller than I expected but it isn't tiny. It's an intimate spot where you can go for a date or to spend time with a few friends. It looks like a few people host celebration dinners there but it's likely small groups. They have an outside area in front of the restaurant on the sidewalk and then the makeshift outside eating area most restaurants made due to the pandemic. There's pretty floral decor around outside and a nicely decorated wall inside. When we walked in we were told we could seat ourselves. This was great until later on when a group of like 8 came to cram into a space for 4 likely because they wanted to be underneath the decorative wall. I would have thought they would have seated the larger parties.... Anyway, we went on a Thursday. We decided to try them this particular week because they were on the Restaurant Week list but when we asked about the menu for it since they only directed us to the online one we were told they weren't participating. The first waitress seemed like she may have been in a bit of a rush. She took our drink orders and our appetizer which was the Sesame Ginger Chicken Satay and never returned lol. Another waitress came by and took our orders. We decided on the Churrasco Argentino (also listed in some places as Argentinian Skirt Steak) and Travesias Chaufa Rice.. The chicken satay wasn't bad. The chicken was well seasoned but the sauce had a pinch too much salt. It didn't make it inedible but you did taste it. The steak was requested to be medium well and if it was well that would have been fine but it seemed to have been a bit over- cooked. The dish came with Maduros and rice with beans. I asked if the beans were cooked with meat and got a look like I was crazy lol. There are some places that cook their beans in meat and so I make sure to check. Gratuity was included in the check so you can include additional if you choose to. In all I'm glad we tried them out and had the new experience. read more
