I haven't had Central American food like this since I left Miami the baleada con todo más steak was delicious I ordered on uber eats and they followed my order instructions (extra beans and crema) delish! and the steak was tender & the tortilla was handmade. The chicken pastelitos comes with two and the filling is juicy and flavorful comes with a cabbage slaw and tomato sauce, again they followed my directions and put the sauce on the side - I also ordered the chicken soup and requested it be spicy and guess what it was! It came with rice & didn't disappoint, the only thing I didn't like was the pupusa de chicharrones y queso idk it was just super dry I've had wayyy better pupusas in sunnyside. Quick Lunch! My niece and I came here for lunch. The restaurant had a few tables occupied. After doing a quick scan of the menu I went with the fried whole snapper along with a mojito. I noticed the drink menu didnt have prices. But being in the BX I figured how much could it be. I should also mentioned I visited in December of 2022. The fish was amazing! Perfectly fried and seasoned. The mojito was ok, not strong but not weak. Imagine my surprise upon receiving the bill and seeing my mojito was more than the pork chop meal my niece had. My sister always raves about this place so I finally joined her for lunch. I had the nachos with cecina (salted steak). The nacho to topping ratio was perfect. In my opinion, it isn't a portion for more than 2-3 people to share but GREAT as a personal meal. They have a variety of cocktails that are available in small, medium, or large glasses but (to my surprise) the small started at $15, so I passed. Seis Vecinos is my go-to taco spot. I eat here 2-3 times a week whether through Uber Eats or sitting in and they NEVER disappoint. Service 10/10 The staff is friendly and kind. They go out their way to make sure they get your order right (there's sometimes a language barrier so please be patient and respectful) and if there's ever any issues, they have no problem correcting it. Food comes out fast and they are super accommodating in terms of customizing orders to your liking. Ambiance 10/10 Restaurant reminds of a scene from a traditional Mexican rustic movie. It has a lot of space so it's perfect for a family or work gathering or even a cute date. Multiple TV's are also on display and they are happy to put on whatever sport you want to watch (Basketball for me ;) ) I love that they take the time to decorate the restaurant based on whatever holiday is close. We're a week from Valentines Day and the restaurant is decked out in red hearts Food 9/10 In my humble opinion, Seis Vecinos has some of the best tacos in the Bronx. My go to are the chicken and steak tacos. They are tender, juicy and packed with authentic flavor. I've also had the chicken taco bowl and it is such a large helping. Another one of my favorties are the Colombian rice and beans. The pinto beans are super flavorful and always made fresh. Another thing I'd like to add is that in addition to being delicious, the food is affordable. $3.50 a taco? Sign me up! Drinks 8/10 While I'm not a super heavy drinker, they have a great red sangria and they don't miss with their pina coladas. I always leave full and feeling nice! The restaurant was nice and well decorated and the waiters were very friendly. Onto the food, the only good items were the Horchata and tortilla chips with guacamole. The food IMO was meh. The pollo con tajadas was alright, but I wish the chicken had more crunch. The appearance was nice though. The guava tres leche was also meh. Only the guava topping was good. I also ordered sopa de res and tamales de cerdo to take home, but again they weren't as good. The soup had a dark color and didn't have a good amount of vegetables. The taste wasn't bad but not good. The rice also had a dark color. The tamales were meh and very small. Not worth $4. Overall, I rate the horchata and chips n guac a 10/10. I ordered here last night with some friends and didn't have the best tasting food.. I do compliment that I was happy about the timing. We ordered flautas, horchata, tamarind juice and tacos. I will say the timing of the order was great, but I rather my food take a little longer if it means it will be prepared better. For starters, the tacos were fantastic and the meat well seasoned. The flautas, however, were soggy because they had beans covering them. They didn't taste good and my horchata tasted nothing like a usual horchata. I recommend the tacos of this place 8/10. I hope the flautas in the future don't contain beans. In the area, this is as good as it may get. I trust them more than other restaurants around. read more

The last two visits have been a complete disaster, and why I say two is because the first time the service started to change, I decided to try it one more time only for the same thing to happen. I used to love this place when visiting for family dinner/lunch, but it has changed so much. Everything has changed so much it seems to me that everything's rushed to accommodate the high demand of the restaurant, which in turn give lousy food quality and service not like how it used to be and the servers are rude. The pollo frito, which came highly recommended, was average at best. It was assertively unremarkable -- you'd do better getting chicken at your regular neighborhood spot. The surf and turf is a rip-off. It's $42 for skirt steak and four jumbo shrimp. Again, nothing remarkable. The tortilla and guacamole were tasty but, again, it's nothing to write home about. what I really didn't like about this place is that they automatically add gratuity (party of three) without notice and then try to get you to add a tip on top of that. Lots of options (perhaps too many options, I couldn't decide!) So I went to this spot right before everything shut down and I literally had plans to return the following weekend ...I work in a city jail and on one housing unit the guys were talking about where they would be going to eat once the got out.....I heard this place mentioned at least 5 times....so I had to come. I stopped in on a Monday at around 4:30pm...place was pretty empty. ..maybe 4 other tables at most.We were seated and attended to right away.....the waiter was very helpful in helping us decide on a drink......I went in knowing what I wanted to eat...the service was very good.....we had a large Margarita we could share and we both order pupusas......I also had a side of chips and salsa. ..I did not have but they do offer freshly table side made guacamole.....and one patron had a birthday....and the Restuarant crew really came out extra lit to sing happy birthday. I will be going back once "outside" opens again.....I hope this is one of the businesses that survives the pandemic. 'I have been following the page in IG for sometime. I actually happened to be in the area and said it was the perfect time to visit. It was during lunch and they had a surprisingly good amount of people there! I thought that was a great sign and am always happy to see businesses busy, especially in the Bronx. I seat myself down and browse the menu. A guy ended up coming over to take my order. The the waitress comes over (not that nice either) asking about my order. i let her know he took it already. I specifically told him...bring out my papusas first then my taco salad. Of course it came together. smh. Papusas were pretty bangin. Now maybe Covid got the best of me but it freaked me the f*ck out with the large onions on the table and the cabbage also. They both are in large glass jars. Ummmm I'm sorry but how do you know what people did prior to you eating out of that jar? NO, there is no way only one table uses it because those jars are huge. Not going to lie i still put the cabbage on my papusas because I can't eat without it. lol. The taco salad was pretty good. I personally like a stronger taco shell to scoop my salad on but this was much thinner. Take note: the waiter didn't come back one time to ask how everything was. Also, I waited SO LONG for my check that I actually had to get up and ask the guy outside if he was the owner. In which he responded no but my cousin is. What I find strange about him telling me that is i saw him on social media pushing the vaccine. So if he isn't that important than why is he the face of the restaurant? I came here recently because I have always wanted to try Seis Vecinos. It was my cousin birthday, so we decided to go. The restaurant is a nice size and can definitely accommodate a large group. Our waitress was great! The food was good. However, the drinks are a little on the expensive side. They sang Happy Birthday to my cousin and also placed the large sombrero on her head. It was cool. My recent visit after I got the bill I notice my bill said my drink was 34$ which was insane for the size that I got . This could move up to five stars on next visit. Kudos to my partner for reading about this place and nagging me to go. I was concerned about the neighborhood but believe it or not, it is in a very nice and somewhat tranquil corner in the South Bronx with a lot of single family homes. About the food, the specialize in food from Mexico and Six of their neighboring countries: we are guessing: Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Panama and maybe Costa Rica. We were not able to discern any cuisine from Belize on the menu but we could be wrong. I chose Mexican fare while my partner chose dishes from El Salvador and Honduras. My meal was absolutely delicious while my partner gobbled up his dishes and actually ordered another dish to bring home. The service was extremely attentive but not annoying or overwhelming. However, I was a little surprised when leaving a tip, a random staff member (not our server or waitress) asked that we leave a bigger tip due to the gratuity be split and shared with all staff members.
