From the staff to the music we enjoyed everything. Mama Puebla serves authentic flavorful delicious Mexican food and cocktails. Everything is made in house from the sauce to the buffalo sauce to the meats. It is made to order by the wait isn't that bad. We had Chips and Salsa (5/5) Flautitas (4/5) Molcajete Mama Puebla (marinated churrasco, shrimp, chicken breast, Mexican sausage, grilled green onions, jalapeños, and avocado) 4.5/5) Hibiscus Margarita 5/5 Spicy Passionfruit Margarita 5/5 Pechuga de Pollo de Mexicana (chicken breast sautéed with onions, jalapeños, and tomatoes) (4/5) it's spicy Coconut Mojito (4/5) Tamarind Margarita (3.75/5) Mezcal shots (5/5) Had an amazing time at @mamapueblanyc! Fresh chips and salsa were so good we had to order it twice! The Buffalo wings had the perfect balance of spicy and sweet. Loved the juicy, thinly sliced chicken entree and the huge Molcajete--perfect for sharing. The rice and beans were bursting with flavor, we almost went for seconds! They even have hookah after 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays and karaoke! Such a cozy spot with reasonable prices and big portions. Definitely coming back!

Love this local Mexican spot! The food tastes homemade, fresh, and comforting--like eating at a family gathering. Warm service and cozy vibe. PS best Al Pastor flavor in the area.

Mama Pueblas really does know how to make tasty food. We have been ordering them for as long as they have been open. I usually stick to my favorites and here's my last take out order: Carnitas Tacos Chorizo Tacos Steak Quesadilla Tostones BIRRIA TORTA The birria torta was EVERYTHING and I suggest that everyone who enjoys birria tacos gives this a try. It comes with the deep rich consommé for dipping. It's basically like a Mexican style French dip and it did not disappoint! I really do enjoy most of their tacos. My rotational order is carnitas, chorizo, al pastor, fish and birria. My favorite quesadillas are the steak and shrimp ones! I will always recommend them. The best part is that the service is excellent. Family owned and small staff makes it feel homey and inviting!

We've ordered Mama Puebla a couple of times prior to Covid. The food was pretty good then and ordering recently deemed the food pretty good now. Our Order: Fish Tacos Flautas Beef Nachos Chicken Fajitas with all the fixins and accompanied with multiple Sauces: Green being the best. Surprisingly, the food arrived much faster than quoted. Once all the meals were unpacked, the 'My Phone Eats First' rule was way out the window, hence not many pics. Thanks hungry food attackers! Ordering Mexican is never a forethought but based off of this recent order it will be now.

Disappointed in the small amount in a $5 side order of plantains

Always order here but recently had a side order of sweet plantains delivered and for the cost of $5.00, this was what I received. Disappointed

Customers beware! I don't even know why I even bother coming here but against my better judgement I went there anyway. Let me start off by saying that the servers here always have an attitude and act like they are doing you a favor by serving you to begin with. I came here once and because the aforementioned statement I stopped coming. Ok so I was craving chuletas Fritas (fried pork chops) which comes with rice, black beans and tortillas. Now on their paper/plastic menu the price for this dish is 16 dollars. But when the cashier gives me my total, it's 20 dollars! I'm thinking to myself "wait a minute, that's a 4 dollar difference". So I asked the lady, isn't 16 dollars? And she responds that the prices went up and it was 20 dollars with taxes. I'm no math wiz but there's no way you can charge 4 dollars taxes on a 16 dollars order. As you can see in the photos provided, $1.51 is the taxes. So either the prices went up and it is 20 dollars with taxes or she thought she found herself a sucker to overcharge. So I said, oh don't worry Ms just cancel my order and I walked out of there. Now, I've never had a problem paying for anything no matter how cheap or expensive it is but I honestly felt like there was something not right. So I look online, specially in Grubhub which we all know prices are usually a couple of dollars more. So low and behold, 16 dollars+ 1 dollar delivery + 2.78 (15% tip-which I usually give 5+ cuz the guys work hard and I want my food fairly quick lol). Which means it's 21.29 total! That's not cool! Why would you try to rip your customers like that!? I would recommend if you are in a mood for Mexican, go to Taqueria Lupita. Small little mom and pop shop restaurant. They might not have your dinner size dishes that come with rice and beans but EVERYTHING else that Mama Pueblas has, they have. And the people there are much nicer and welcoming. And if you still want your "Spanish food" fix, for the same scamming prices of Mama Pueblas, go to made in Puerto Rico, delicious puertorrican food and they give you a lot of it. Don't recommend this place at all. Always go with your gut instinct.

    Red sauce chicken enchiladas.

Ordered red sauce chicken enchiladas and this is what I got. The sauce was oily and barely tasted like anything. The tortillas broke up making it a mess. The rice and black beans was tolerable. Never again.

We have ordered in once. Tonight we decided to dine in. This is a small, clean and bright establishment. Our waitress was very cordial. We ordered shrimp hard tacos, with just cheese, and guacamole. And we ordered shrimp soft tacos, and a steak soft taco. It came with rice and black beans! Everything was flavorful! They served us with excellent chips and salsa! Very good. They put out some condiments as well. Too spicy for me. It was a pleasurable experience. The food is prepared from scratch, and so fresh.

When we entered, we were greeted with kind smiles from the ladies and they welcomed us to sit at any free table. Inside has lots of decor with ample seating. We sat and a server grabbed us menus. We got a carnitas burrito, grilled cactus side, horchata, and strawberry limeade (per her recommendation). Everything came so fast, and they even split the burrito for us! Oh my god, everything was so good. This has to be one of the BEST burritos I have ever had, comparable to the ones in San Diego. I love carnitas, and they do it so well here. It was tender, flavorful, just the perfect amount of sauce and seasoning! And the horchata was the best I have ever had too! The strawberry limeade was refreshing, and the grilled cactus was good! It was my first time trying it and it reminded me of aloe vera/okra texture. I had such a great time, such a great experience, I will definitely be back!

They have options for dining in or taking out and were quite efficient We went with a burrito and a few tacos - the burrito is massive, I would say it's meant for two people at once and filled with rice, meat, vegetables, thick flour tortilla and covered with different sauces - it is very heavy! The tacos are Mexican-style with meat and vegetarian options and were simply delicious. The meats we got - carnitas, steak, chicken were all cooked great with tender juiciness. They gave ample lime and sauces to pair as needed. Prices felt reasonable. Overall taqueria tlaxcalli had exceptional Mexican food for NYC with very good hospitality and dining options and I highly recommend! The tacos were a tier above my favorite NYC tacos - Santos, Los tacos no 1 and carnitas Ramirez.

I usually go to the Westchester Square spot as it's the location closest to my parents, but I've also been to their restaurant in Kingsbridge and (most recently) this one on Westchester Ave. The standard items one would expect to find at a Mexican restaurant are on EP's menu. What makes them stand out for me though, is the vast selection they have within each menu section and the quality of they food they serve. My usual go-tos are their burritos and tacos - they offer a variety of proteins to complement and they're always delicious. Outside of that, their soups are great as well as their nachos. I've only eaten in-house a few times; my standard is takeout and it's always ready by the promise time. Overall, Estrellita is a resounding yes for me; they are one of the best examples of quality and consistency, and I would always recommend them for good Mexican food in the Bronx.
