I am a little confused about the negative reviews of this restaurant... I saw this place a few months ago, finally visited this past weekend and to my surprise this is a gem in the Allerton area of the Bronx... The restaurant is gigantic and there were plenty of waitresses, waiters and servers going around to ensure great service, loved this from the very beginning!! Our waitress was so nice, so friendly and so caring, I think her name she said was Maribel... she made sure to give us an extra excellent service. Food was delicious, they have a HUGE menu, just like the restaurant. We had guacamole as appetizer and chips + salsa from the house. For entree we shared chilaquiles al pastor, beef tostadas and steak quesadillas and everything was so so so delicious and made with love you could taste it!! Music was popping to be honest, they had a pretty nice playlist of Latin music at first... then around 5-6pm a dj started playing music. I will definitely come back and try some drinks, that also looked interesting and very good by the looks on people drinking. Definitely a must try place!!! Went here an early Saturday afternoon after hearing good things about the other restaurant part of this chain. The place was not full, but got pretty full around 7 pm. The service was decent and food and drinks were excellent. The price was reasonable for the quality. The best part is around 6 a singer comes in and will sing or play a song of your choice and you can even do karaoke. I came with a friend and she got pretty drunk from the cocktails. The chips and salsa before they give you food, has gotten better with time. And the prices were good, but now they're a little bit expensive. A taco used to be 2.50, and now it's 4.75. Unfortunately, I've been getting food from this restaurant for a while because it's in my area not that it's my first choice but it's what's convenient, I went in there tonight and ordered two quesadillas. I waited for a very long time to pay., they overcharged in the menu. They say $15 for a chorizo and steak quesadilla when I ask the man he said 16 and on card it comes up to 19 with taxes. There are some things I can say on this post, but in the coming days, a lot of things will unfold that will clean up this mess. I will not be going back to this restaurant it seems like they only treat you good when you are Mexican not any of a race. They will also charge you four dollars if you ask for extra sour cream and cheese , and when I asked them, I know it may seem like why is this customer asking for what he already has on his food? NO REGARD FOR ALLERGIES BY THIS RESTAURANT. I placed an order for "3 chicken taco fajita". Grubhub allows you to choose either "cilantro, onions and cheese" or "lettuce, tomato and sour cream." I chose lettuce tomato and sour cream. Instead, I received tacos with GUACAMOLE and onions. I called the restaurant and spoke with Robert or "Roberto" who claimed to be the restaurant manager. I informed him that because of my allergy to avocados I could not eat the tacos as they are contaminated with the guacamole. Robert informed me that there is an extra $2.50 charge for the lettuce tomato and sour cream and finally agreed to "correct the order" and that I would just need to give the delivery driver the $2.50. So, the delivery man comes and can you believe that Roberto sent me lettuce, tomato and sour cream in a container? Wow. The customer service I was offered is LESS THAN one star. I explained my allergy and they did NOTHING to correct the error on their end. Came here on Tuesday 6/25/19. There was a graduation party going on in the back and they had a nice live singer with a DJ which I found pretty cool. We were seated at a table and the girl came a few moments later. We started ordering drinks and as soon as she went to take our orders she spoke in Spanish which wasn't a problem because in most places in the Bronx waitresses will speak to me in Spanish but usually just see what we are pointing to. My boyfriend ordered his drink and said out loud bulldog and pointed to it and I the same. The drinks came and she only gave me a bulldog and him a reg margarita. So we did not want to make a big deal we switched and thats when he noticed a rather large crack on the glass we made her aware of it and she asked " do you want me to replace it " . YES WE DO. The glass looked like if you held it to long it would shatter in your hand. then proceeded to order food and my boyfriend are tacos 3 steak and 3 chorizos and she looked him in his eyes and acknowledge him. and took my order. We get our food it was really good. But his chorizos tacos never came out. then when we told her she looked back at her paper like you only said 3 and I only wrote that. And I'm like no we told you. Finally she put the order in, around 10 mins later it came and there was a hair in the tacos. We immediately were turned off we returned them to management and all the manager kept saying was he can make new ones. I also asked another waitress for a napkin and she had no idea what I was saying until I pointed to one. The only person who could understand English was the manager And we also let him know about the broken glass. We ended up paying the bill and leaving. Only reason they got two stars was cause for a $9 margarita it was pretty good on the alcohol part. The sauce is a thickish sauce and very tasty, inside are very thinly sliced pieces of beef and on top of the enchiladas is some mexican cheese. I definitely liked it. The steak taco was pretty big, it was full of meat and everything else I ordered. Quite tasty.
