Went here on a Saturday evening around 7:30 PM with a large crowd of people. This place was definitely better than expected. The cocktails were very good! I enjoyed two cocktails one was a Paloma & the other was a Rancho which consisted of a cucumber base with cilantro and tequila. It was delicious. It made me feel like I was on vacation. THE MEALS! First time eating their food and I am so satisfied. I had a chicken soup but when I tell you it was the best chicken soup ever please believe. I took it go and by the time I got back to my office it was still hot. The chicken so flavorful the broth delicious. Everything was just perfect. DO NOT BOTHER!!! First, the waitress didn't even introduce herself to start. She came to our table with a nasty attitude. I ordered a chicken cemita. It had chipotle in it and it was super spicy. I'm allergic to spice. I asked if they could make another one without the spice, and the nameless server refused to get her manager after I asked to take it off the bill. Her explanation for not getting her manager to assist us, was that he would deduct the cost of my entree from her pay (not my problem). She relentlessly took my order which took way too long. By the time I got a cemita without the spice, the rest of the table were done with their entrees leaving me to eat by myself. I asked for the bill expecting not to see two orders of cemita, however they charged $10, another $2 (not sure what happened there, and another $12 for the 2nd entree. WTF!!!! Not once did this nameless server check up on us if we needed anything or were eating anything. I asked her to get her manager, just to see her talking to him in the corner as if prepping him. That entered me and I asked her to talk to me but she walked away. The manager came and began to dispute with us about the discrepancy in ordering the entree without the spice. I tried to explain to this person that it wasn't about the spice anymore but the lack of care from the server as she did not try to help me in any way. He continued to argue what point against mine until he chuckled and said he would take the 2nd order off. He printed a new bill and still was incorrect. came here since we were on arthur ave and wanted something other than italian. immediately kinda weird vibes since the restaurant had tons of empty seats but they refused to seat us at anything other than a 2 person table and there literally all in horrible spots- directly in front of or beside the door. got fajitas, the goat taco and beef tostada. the taco was bomb and I really enjoyed the goat. complimentary chips and salsa were offered, along with a set of various sauces (verde, rojo, chipotle, habanero and onion) the fajitas were kinda meh- very oily and not that flavorful. this was also true of the rice and beans, the rice especially felt super dry and bland. the tostadas beef was extremely beefy... not sure how else to describe it but virtually no seasoning. service wasn't that great either. waters weren't refilled promptly, table clearly wasn't big enough for our orders. bill took a while to get. probably wouldn't return but not at all mad with the experience. read more

Try: Their tacos, great with steak, chicken, al pastor, and chorizo. Throw some green sauce on it or if you're really ballsy go for the red one. Your toilet will not thank you later. Steak with onion, cactus, and jalapeños. My my can they cook a good juicy steak. Nice grill marks. Cactus adds a great palette cleanser, and the jalapeños just burn! I would rate Rancho Estrella higher if it wasn't obvious they cut some corners. We ordered the guacamole and it seemed like they had mixed it with sour cream, to the point that it was more like avocado paste than guacamole. Five people at my table ordered margaritas and all were returned because they basically had no tequila in them. I tasted one and it was essentially lemonade. On the plus side, I ordered chilaquiles and thought they were good. I also got a large horchata and was very happy with it as well. Extremely good food! Yum! Came in here STARVING and so thirsty after a long day at the zoo. The waitress welcomed us warmly and served us water + chips and salsa (which we killed in .02 seconds) and then came to take our order. I had 2 tacos with everything and it was so yum! Despite the warm reception and home-y ambiance, the establishment was quite congested, emphasized by the jail cell-esque fence separating the dining area from the entryway. I felt as if I were back in the Petosi Correctional Facility, congested behind the bars that seem to limit both freedom and elbow room when trying to play dice or just simply eat a fajita. The fajitas were in fact, snap, crackling, and popping just as I had hoped and dreamed they were, symbiotically paired with the accoutrements the chef deemed necessary for optimal enjoyment. This place is NOT customer friendly and the waitress staff is extremely unprofessional. As a waitress, it is their job to provide the customers all the information needed regarding their meal, so there are no issues in the future. The service is SLOW and the cooks in the back were not wearing gloves. The guacamole was BLAND. Extremely disappointed. SO lets get started: I ordered a Cheese Quesadilla while my friend ordered a Shrimp Chimichanga. On the menu, they do not offer Shrimp Chimichanga's, but the waitress said they could make it for her. After waiting about 30 minutes, even though there were about 4 people there, our food was finally served. My friend cuts her Chimichanga in half and notices that there's RICE AND BEANS in the Chimichanga. The waitress NEVER mentioned rice and beans being added in the chimichanga. There is no description for a Shrimp Chimichanga on the menu, so my friend had no way of knowing that they add rice and beans in their Chimichangas. I take a bite of my Quesadilla and I quickly notice that they served me a CHICKEN QUESADILLA. I ordered a CHEESE Quesadilla because I do not eat meat. I brought my food to our waitress and she said she'll have it switched. My friend brought up her food too and told the waitress she did not want a Shrimp Chimichanga with rice and beans and the waitress gave her attitude saying, "that's your fault, so you have to pay for another one." After explaining that the menu doesn't state the Shrimp Chimichanga comes with rice and beans, the waitress proceeded to say it was my friend's fault. My friend asked the waitress if she had to pay for another plate and the waitress said NO. We wait 25 more minutes for our food to be served again and everything is fine until the bill comes. The waitress overcharged us for the large guacamole we ordered and they charged my friend TWICE for the Chimichanga. We went to the manager and explained that my friend cannot eat beans because it upsets her stomach, they proceeded to tell us it's her fault because she should have asked what came in it before ordering. The waitress also started giving us attitude as well and kept telling my friend it was her fault. The manager told her that every restaurant is different, so it was my friend's job to ASK WHAT COMES IN THE CHIMICHANGA. We finally got them to take the second chimichanga charge off. The waitstaff brought us the wrong order, stated that we ordered it,and demanded that we pay for it even though we did not order it and had not touched it. She stated she would bring us a correct order. We allowed for a possible error on our part and ordered again. Again the order was wrong. We did not want to argue so we decided to eat the food that we did not order. It was lousy.
