    Flan by Chef Rose
    Rosie B.

Don Emilio Diner carries a large variety of dishes. The steam table alone has between 10-12 different options aside from the a la carte menu. The pernil is there front and center and by far the Star of the restaurant. Cooked on low heat for hours the pernil is super flavorful and off the bone tender. I never leave with out a freshly squeezed lemonade and Pastelitos. Don Emilio Diner now carries Chef Rose flan!! Best flan in NYC.

Amazing breakfast I loved it.. I will definitely come back to this place. Service was on point. The rest of the food looked so fresh.!

Interior looks a bit weird since this place kept the McDonald's chairs, but the place seems clean and the meat tastes better than Brisas de Caribe which is a bit further away. I give it 4 stars because empanada here is way too salty and I don't recommend it at all. But everything else tastes pretty good.

My husband and were driving around the area looking for a place for breakfast and we found this place. The staff is very friendly and the food is delicious. The food looked so good that my husband had rice, beans and pernil for breakfast. We loved the food so much that we just had to share our experience with everyone.

Why is this dish swimming in oil?
    Lisa S.

This place used to be worth 5 stars. The portions are huge and the food is delicious and inexpensive. So much so, I'd eat here three to four times per week. I just can't get past the oil on the bacalao guisado (codfish) which is my favorite dish. If they can figure out a way not to use so much oil, I'll become a regular customer again.

Great tasting food, and affordable. The stewed ribs are delicious, but so is everything else I've tried here.

I was a bit confused about the times for the locations because we noticed 9 p.m. on one and 10 p.m…read more on another. I tried calling the one on Crescent Ave but got no answer after having the phone ring for a while. But I decided to go with this location because Crescent said 9 p.m., and this one said 10 p.m. The location is on a busy street. We did get Lyft, so that wasn't an issue for us. But you might have to walk a bit if there's no parking. It's spacious outside when you first enter, and there are two sides to be seated. We were seated right away and given menus. The decor is cute, and the wall artwork is colorful and lovely. Great music was playing late at night. We did arrive after 8:30, more like 8:45ish. They were out of something we wanted to order, but the server, I think, his green apron, said Juan. I'm not sure if he said his name at the time. As I said, we were hungry, which was the main focus, not to mention arriving before they closed. The appetizers were delicious. I suggest getting two if you have a big group because three pieces on a plate are insufficient for four people. The food came out promptly, everything was delicious, and we enjoyed every bite. I hope to return and get the name of what we ordered. I'll use that as an excuse to return because everything looked good on the menu. I know we got Chicharron, flan, and tres leche, but the names of the dishes Yes, I could look at the menu, which I took a picture of, but I would prefer to go back

This spot feels like it's quietly stepping into a much-needed role as a high-end date night option…read morein an area that leans heavily casual and family-friendly. The crispy octopus easily rivals anything I've had in Manhattan, super tender with just the right crisp. The cassava hash browns were so good I was almost annoyed by how simple they were. Paired with a rich, meaty sauce and a fresh fennel crunch, the whole dish was incredibly balanced. The wings were the most straightforward item on the menu (in the best way), lightly spiced, slightly sweet, and great for picky eaters. Someone needs to give the bartenders a raise. I ordered three drinks just to test consistency--every single one was balanced, spirit-forward, and not overly sweet. The presentation was different on each one and felt intentional without being gimmicky. I've seen some of the lower Yelp ratings and they mostly call out price, but this is very much a you get what you pay for situation. The quality of the food, the portion sizes (especially for this level of execution), and the overall intentionality behind the menu justify it in my opinion. Service was excellent. They squeezed me in last minute, and my waiter, Dionicio, handled my coconut allergy (not easy at a Dominican spot) with real care and ease. The space itself is worth mentioning - moody, mushroom/mossy interiors. Super cute, very well thought out, and definitely a place I'll be coming back to.

I noticed the 1 star reviews are because of the price. So I'll start from there..this is a high end…read morerestaurant, therefore the prices are VERY high. The drinks could really add up to your bill fast! Taxes and gratuity are included. I always suggest to take a look at the menu and their website to see what to expect, I already knew coming here that it would be expensive and I was ready. I made a reservation online for my daughter and I and it was a very smooth service from start to finish. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The drinks are worth every penny! They are made just right and it brings a lot! I ordered a lychee martini which I couldn't even finish after my meal, I forgot the name of the other drink I ordered but it was HUGE and delicious, I added a picture for reference.i ordered the oxtail samosas which were soooo goood, seafood on fire LITERALLY , and the coconut cod croquetas. For dessert I got the dulce de coco Enyucao which comes with vanilla ice cream on top, passion fruit caramel, cassava as the base and shredded coconut cake roll. The server then comes and pours a very delicious "sauce" all around it making it a beautiful experience by itself. This dessert is enough for 2/3 people. The ambiance is very cozy, trendy and refreshing. It doesn't feel like you're in the Bronx at all, it gives luxury vacation energy. The place is great for pictures. I recommend you take a cab because parking during the evening will be horrible, there's a lot of popular bars and restaurants around the area. I noticed they have changed the menu, they have taken some things out and they also change the presentation of the drinks so you might want to go directly to their website or to their Instagram to get more updated visuals of what they are currently offering. I came here last year during the spring If you want to try out their food and drinks without having to pay their gratuity and other fees, you could just order directly from the website for takeout
