I got the fried Boca chica red snapper fish with yucca fries. Fish was fried to perfection. Fries were delicious and in an addictive garlicky sauce. I was disappointed because they have a specials menu but the waiter said none of the specials were available (and they had an oxtail stew for Sunday which would've been bomb)! My husbands fried chicken dish was so good. The wings, thigh, and drumstick were fried to perfection and super juicy inside. The tostones were delish too! There is valet parking but i think it's $15.

I rarely leave one-star reviews, but this experience--and the response to my feedback--left me with…read moreno choice. My friends and I arrived at Sho J Oregano's Crescent Avenue location at approximately 9:45 PM. The restaurant's posted closing time was 10:00 PM, yet we were told they would not seat us. Disappointed but willing to give them another chance, we paid for a taxi to their White Plains Road location, which was listed as being open until 11:00 PM. We arrived around 10:00 PM only to be told that they were also closed and would not serve us. The result? We wasted time, money on transportation, and an entire evening chasing a meal at a restaurant that was supposedly open. What made the experience even more disappointing was the response after I shared my review. Rather than acknowledging the inconvenience or apologizing for the confusion, the restaurant chose to challenge my account. I have no reason to misrepresent what happened. My review reflects exactly what my group experienced that evening. This isn't about expecting to be served after closing. It's about arriving during the posted business hours at two separate locations and being turned away both times. If the kitchen closes early or there is a last-seating policy, that information should be clearly posted online and at the restaurant. Customers shouldn't have to guess whether "open" actually means the business is still serving guests. For a restaurant that has received so much praise, I expected far better customer service and accountability. Great food can earn awards, but honesty, consistency, and respect for customers are what earn loyalty. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend making a special trip here unless you're prepared for the possibility that the posted hours may not reflect when they'll actually serve customers.

One bite had me mentally sitting on a beach in the Dominican Republic with the ocean breeze hitting me. That fish took me somewhere for a second. The pork belly was another 9/10 -- absolutely loved it. The wings were a solid 7.5/10, very sweet but still really good. Drinks were solid too. The passion fruit drink was an 8.5/10 and super refreshing. My other drink gets a 7.5/10 -- the presentation and cup were amazing, but the actual drink didn't hit quite as hard as it looked. Mofongo dumplings not my favorite 5/10. Overall, great food, massive portions, and definitely a spot worth checking out. The fish and pork belly are what I'm coming back for.

We did ask to sit outside and was denied because we were told we didn't make reservation, even though there were lots of empty tables. The server mistakenly served red wine and then Champagne instead of Chardonnay when asked for it. Instead of saying "we don't have Chardonnay," she should have simply informed the customer. After our meal, we stacked our plates and placed them aside to signal the server that we were finished. We endured a 30-minute wait for our bill, which was an unpleasant experience. Additionally, we desired to depart promptly due to the excessive loud music, which was getting on our nerves. Definitely not our place to go eat out; very disappointed. Oh, and food was okay, that's all I can say.

The staff were fantastic. They offer valet parking which is great for the area which is really crowded. The churrasco was so good I could have eaten another one. The only problem I encountered was that the Mofongo with Chicharron although it tasted great the, it was served in a small pilon, wooden bowl used to mash the plantains, with the chicharron on top. They poured garlic sauce over the top and it made a mess all over the bowl. Additionally the bowl was too small for you to eat it without pouring it into the plate. They should reconsider how they serve it because it was very messy to eat. The flan though was perfectly made, reminding me of Puerto Rican flan, light and airy.
