Compared to what the area has to offer, I guess it's good. Fair walking distance to University of Oregon. AC is very loud, and leaving windows are out of the option since parking lot noise is annoying. Breakfast is muffins and fruit that you pick up from office and eat in your room. Room doesn't feel fancy, but is clean. It feels like staying at a friends house with fixtures in bathroom that match a house and not hotel. Think "Breaking Bad" this place needs to be bulldozed and rebuilt. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was great but this place is a complete dump. I guess $64 dollars a night should have thrown up a red flag but we were staying there with a volleyball team and this place was referred to the team by the tournament directors. We stayed here when visiting for a Duck game. In the past, we have always stayed at the Hilton but it was full this time. I was perfectly happy with the room; the place is old, as you can see from the pictures so it doesn't have modern decor or new furnishings but it did have free breakfast and a fridge in the room which the Hilton does not. Our room was clean. I would stay here again, especially if I was mostly just looking for a place to crash after a fun night. The desk staff guy was really nice. If you are super-particular about your accommodations, don't stay here but if you can handle some chipped paint and old tile, you can't beat this place for the price. read more

As a professional dance company we have dancers from all over the world come to Eugene to perform with us and with that they need a place to stay! We have found that The Broadway Inn is the perfect place! It is close to our studio and the Hult Center where we have our performances as well as being close to downtown Eugene. Our dancers love the fact that there is a free on site kitchen and laundry. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating! You will get what you pay for here. It did what is was supposed to, provided a safe place to stay for a night. Although it wasn't the nicest, the location was great. We could walk to campus easily and was able to discover some of Eugene simply by walking from this location as well. Breakfast was minimal but was offered for free. We will be back!!! The rooms were very clean and even smelled fresh. They have all the amenities you need. The surrounding property was very well maintained. The staff and management made us feel like we were staying with long time friends. They give a whole new meaning to 'continental breakfast'...it was a full on breakfast, oatmeal, bagels & cream cheese, english muffins, fruit & sweet breads too!! We used the pool and were pleasantly surprised to find they provided you with towels at the pool and even have laundry facilities. What follows is a somewhat shorter version of the written complaint I filed with motel management shortly after the events described below. I received no response. I am a 68 year old "senior citizen" and have not the slightest interest in defrauding the Broadway Inn or anyone else. 1. I chose the Broadway Inn because I had stayed there before and found it satisfactory. 2. My son and I stayed the weekend of the Oregon/UCLA game. 3. On Saturday morning both of us took showers, each about 1 hour apart. We essentially had no hot water. 4. I reported this to the front desk. The desk female desk clerk and two male motel personnel heard what I had to say. They were skeptical but pleasant. Essentially, they said there should have been plenty of hot water. 5. We had to leave Saturday evening. I told the evening desk clerk that we had no hot water and asked for a rate adjustment. Instead of simply saying he had no authority to do so and advising me to file a complaint at a later date with motel management, he said he "knew what I was doing." According to him I was trying to get money out of the motel under false pretenses. I was stunned. I asked him twice if he was calling me a liar. I took his non-response to be an affirmation. 6. He absolutely knew I was lying because "no one else complained." This was his only evidence. I told him the fact no one else complained was beside the point. He couldn't grasp the fact that maybe no one else had the problem or, if they did, declined not to file a complaint. I reminded him that he wasn't even around in the morning so had no knowledge of whether anyone else had complained. He was unfazed 7. I asked him to call one or all of the three people I had complained to in the morning to verify my story. He refused. Knowing I was leaving town he told me I could come back in the morning to complain. (I think it suddenly dawned on him that since I had complained in the morning I was not making up a story on my way out of town. Consequently, he was not about to call one or all of the three.) 8. At this point I was fed up with his bullying. I called him [names not allowed to be included in a review] . Probably not gentlemanly, but true. 9. Typical of most bullies, he could dish it out but not take it. He starting yelling at me to get out of the office, started waving his arms toward the door, and threatened to "call the cops." 10. I left. In all the years I have traveled in this country and abroad I have never been treated like this by any hotel or motel employee. I am still angry. Would I stay again? Of course not. Would I recommend the Broadway Inn? Never. read more

We like staying here when we come to town. It's within walking distance of restaurants and cafes, there's also a Whole Foods grocery close by. It's also close to the U district and the Hult Center. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are comfortable. The sheets, floors and bathroom are always clean--cleaning complaints include things like cobwebs and air filters in the A/C and bathroom fan; I notice them but busy housekeepers might miss them when they're not deep cleaning. The Continental breakfast isn't fancy but is usually: yogurt, oatmeal, fruit, danish, cereal, coffee, tea and juice. Grab and go stuff. My Bathroom was circa 1970 with very low water pressure! And then there was the cockroach and the spider cobwebs that were in every corner of the room, and even after informing the front desk, they were still there the next day! Run far away!!! We stopped here to stay, called ahead to make sure the room was ready, it was not. So we went down the road to a brewery came back 2 hours later and the bed was not made and there was something black all over the carpet. Not to mention the wierd - os hanging out in the parking lot. Great place to stay for a comfortable, quiet, inexpensive hotel. The staff were very cooperative when dealing with my request for a late check out time. Rooms have more character than most hotels. This is like the old time motor motels that used to dot the highways. The place is old but clean, dogs allowed with a nice green area with doggie bags and a garbage right there. Staff is nice. This place is old but clean, our room was large, our traveling partners was smaller, shower definetly has great water pressure. Only real problem was bathroom had no fan so steamed up quick and I took one star off for questionable people staying near rear of motel who looked like it was their flop pad and roared their motorcycle out after 11pm. I want to start this review by saying that this negative review in no way reflects the quality of service we received by the staff. They were perfectly lovely and accommodating. That being said, this place is not pleasant. We checked in and were initially given a second floor room, of which there seem to be a couple. After opening the door to the stairs and heading up, we noticedour immediate neighbors, who were smoking cigarettes and playing music loudly. The room was small, but clean enough. In general, the crowd staying at the Inn, at least that night, seemed shady. It appeared there were a group of homeless people hanging out in the courtyard area in front of the office at all hours, which can be disconcerting. After returning from dinner, we discovered the door that led to the stairs to our room was locked with a "Do Not Disturb" tag on the door. We only have keys to the room itself so it seems our neighbors knowingly locked us out. We went to the manager to have the door unlocked, but had to wait because the key was nowhere to be found. (This manager was very apologetic and accomodating) When we managed to get up to our room, which reeked of our neighbors' cigarettes, we realized we just couldn't stay next to them. The office assigned us another room, but unfortunately that was not the end of our ordeal. When we opened the door to the new room, it was...indescribably bad. Picture a sterotypical rock star-trashed room with the pungent odor of something rotting. I think we both heard the stabbing strings from Psycho in our head in that short glimpse. To this day, I honestly have no idea what could have possibly happened in that room/possible crime scene. Once again, we were assigned a new room. At that point, all trust was lost. We wanted the night to be over quickly so we could get out of that place as soon as humanly possible. It was the first time we had really felt unsafe in any lodging establishment. Again, the staff was friendly but this place is rough. I know it's cheap and convenient, but I cannot in good conscience recommend the Broadway Inn to others. read more

Im pretty disappointed and grossed out with this place. I had come in late around 10:30 pm and i had ordered a room. The manager was nice everything seemed fine until i entered my room. I was really sleepy and drowsy from the long trip over here to oregon so i fell to my bed. I began to smell a strange odor. I being as sleepy as i was just fell asleep and didnt think twice because come on, you expect a motel to at least have cleaned there rooms.Mistake. When i awoke i got up and looked into the bed i was sleeping in AND THERE WAS BLOOD STAINS ON THE FREAKING SHEETS! This shit grossed me out. For one your charging me for a room so i expect a fucking clean room. I went to the manager and he tried to lie in my face and tell me its make up. I have a girlfriend and i know what make up is. This crap was dried up blood. They never the less changed my sheets and what not and all they could reemburse me with was a single night. Dude what the fuck are you serious i sleep in some foul ass persons dried blood and thats the most i get? Had he had some sort of infection it could of possibly been transferred to me( knowing how eugene is) i didnt really have any options for the other hotels couldnt hold me in the days i needed to stay. Just to put some freaking icing on the cake, there internet is shit and doesnt work in your room. It really only slightly works if you go outside. Needless to say i dont think ill return here. Sadly, I'd like to write a nice review because the first time we stayed somewhat reluctantly here on the way to a business event we were happy to see that it had been cleaned up significantly from what it had deteriorated to a few years ago, it was clean and had some reasonable amenities like a refrigerator and microwave. But it's never going to be a fancy place, the rooms are small and shabby, but we had thought we might consider making it a regular stop because we come through Eugene so frequently and it tends to be inexpensive. Five days later we returned with a reservation only to be met by a young woman who, the minute she was shown our service dogs paperwork ( which had been listed in the online registration) began a campaign to make check in as difficult as possible. First she demanded a 250 dollar deposit because my husbands ID includes the address of his mail service here in town as well as our Portland home address. Too tired to argue, he handed her 250 in cash. (We'd put the room on a card). She said they didn't take cash. My husband asked to speak to the manager, she said "no". My husband said ok, he would walk up to the bank, put this cash in the bank and come back and pay with the card, thank you for being so helpful". Now at this point his voice was somewhat sarcastic and the young lady basically sang out, "How about if you just cancel your reservation?" He came out to the car, explained the situation to me. I went in with a different bank card to pay the ridiculous 250 dollar "deposit" and my ID which clearly shows the same Portland address as my husbands ID. She just shrugged and refused to run the card for the deposit. She said it was because my husband had gotten angry and they didn't need that at their hotel. She was cancelling our reservation. Frankly there was another person of about her age hanging out in the lobby and I got the distinct feeling she was demonstrating her very important job to her audience. We went up the street to a much nicer place and checked in with no difficulties at all. Contact with the manager later resulted in him offering us a free night but defending his desk clerk. Why would we stay someplace where the kid at the desk is so poorly trained in both the law and manners? read more

This is the best value for an inexpensive hotel. It is right downtown, close to everything. It is exceptionally clean and the customer service is awesome. The beds are more comfortable than I would have expected too. The rooms also have microwaves and refrigerators which is an unexpected bonus! They don't have coffee pots in the rooms but they serve coffee and a pretty standard breakfast in the office every morning. They also have a pool and laundry room if you need it. It has everything you need for a great price. I would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to friends. read more

While the Broadway Inn looks like any other bargain motel from the exterior, the fantastic customer service and cleaner than you'd expect rooms exceeded my expectations. For full disclosure, I chose the Broadway Inn because they allow dogs and I was traveling with my 2 year old shih tzu. 2 years ago, before I fell in love with my little munchkin (my first dog), a motel that allowed dogs would have been a huge negative, but the rooms and office are so clean you really wouldn't even know it if you didn't see friendly people with their friendly dogs walking around the parking lot. The staff was ridiculously accommodating (they let me decide at around 5 pm if I was going to stay another night), and the free continental breakfast had fruit, bagels, muffins, pastries and even good coffee! I'm not a huge fan of Eugene, but if I have to go back, I'll definitely stay at the Broadway Inn again, with the munchkin or without. read more
