This was one of those treat yourself type of moments so our group all decided that we were gonna go all in for the steak here. They definitely lived up to it hype and I can see why it is one of the top 100 steak houses in the world. Our steak was 1.8 kg and it was a lot of steak for us but we also ordered a few different pasta sides as well. The steak was nice and juicy and was cooked perfectly. Our server was hilarious and he explained the menu completely to us. It is a nicer restaurant, so everyone was dressed up a little bit nicer and was out here to either enjoy some thing or celebrate some thing. Comes with apps, a bottle of water, and a pretty big steak. Bruschetta is good. Chicken liver patte is not bad, not a huge fan of it in general but wasn't bad. Cold cuts are a good assortment. Sadly the bread is not good. It's dry, and disintegrates when you eat it. It's not a good fresh bread that you'd expect at a quality Italian steak house. The oil and balsamic are watery and not good. Steak was tender and great flavor. Be careful when it comes out! It's still sizzling and bubbling. I got burned multiple times from the oil popping out on me while it was on the table. Potato's were ok. Montepulciano wine is good. Mode half size bottle, perfect for 2 to share if you're looking for a glass of wine with a little extra. Coed bathrooms, single stalls Pay up front. Incredible service, authentic feel, meat hanging in the front window, and very attentive staff. Between two adults we ordered the cheese board appetizer (incredible), Florentine steak (1.2 kg) to share (MUST ORDER), and a side of potatoes (Absolutely should order). For two very hungry adults this was plenty of food, I would not order more than this (warning as we almost did). The Florentine steak was so lean and tender, beautifully seasoned. Before leaving Florence, I wanted to try Bistecca alla Florentina. Luckily, we were able to make dinner reservations at Trattoria dall'Oste. We were greeted and seated promptly as soon as we walked in for our reservation. Our server was friendly, polite, and helpful in choosing a bottle of wine. She also explained to us what would be a good weight of meat for two people. We also ordered a pasta dish (I forgot to take a picture), and we were instructed that in Italy, we have to eat the pasta dish first (primi), before they serve the meat (secondi). "In Italy, we do not eat our pasta and meat at the same time." We had to finish the pasta dish first, then we were given clean plates. That was when they served the steak. We had: BISTECCA ALLA FLORENTINA "CHIANINA" 1kg- Absolutely delicious. The meat was perfectly seasoned and prepared. Every bite was just so good. TAGLIOLINI AI FUNGHI PORCINI- Outstanding MILLE FOGLIE CON CREME CHANTILLY- So light, airy, and simply delightful. This was one of the best meals I have had in Italy. We just enjoyed a wonderful meal at Trattoria dall'Oste. There was a bit of a wait since we didn't have reservations and they were packed, but still we were seated in 15-20 minutes. It was worth the wait! My wife and I started with Papardelle in Wild Boar Sauce. It was perfect, the Papardelle was al dente', just right and the Wild Boar sauce was a rich and very tasty complement. But the main event came afterward... We shared a 36 oz. Dry aged ribeye grilled perfectly to medium rare. For a steak lover, this was Heaven on earth. A Fabulous steak grilled perfectly. No, we were not able to finish it, despite a valient effort. I have no idea how their desserts are as we rolled out of there. Best part of our dinner though was our waiter, Benjamin. He was attentive, personable and professional, speaks perfect English and made our dining experience one we will long remember. Thanks you, Benjamin! Chose this restaurant to celebrate my husband's birthday while we were on holiday. They offer quality beef from all around the world. Sounds like a win-win right? Guaranteed to earn me the wife of the year award. My husband ordered the florentine Chianian steak. He wanted to try a local meat. It came out perfectly made medium rare won an iron skillet (great for keeping it warm and also to give a light cook of the piece is too rare). For vegetables we ordered the chicory, which was a surprisingly a very generous portion. My son had the spinach raviolis and my daughter had the tagliere in Ragu sauce. Both were a hit. We ordered a bottle of Boghleri. Great wine for the price. Everything was going well until we noticed that they never brought my lobster pasta. Also realized at that point we hadn't seen our server since he took our order. He was busily tending to other patrons the entire time. Our wine and orders were delivered by the bus boy, who was amazing btw ,which is why we didn't notice our server had not returned. When we were finally able to track down our server, he said my pasta would be ready right away. It didn't show up until everyone else was done with their meals. No apologies. No explanation. They didn't give me a plate for the shells. No wipe for my hands. It was if they just wanted us gone. The lobster itself was ok.... Sauce was a plain tomato sauce, not super flavorful or special in any way. I would say this was the only dish that disappointed (but then again why did I order lobster at a steak house you may say lol). It also appears the chef threw it onto a plate in a rush. There was zero presentation (lobster is buried inder the pasta) and wasn't finished (no chopped parsley or even one basil Leaf). See pic. This also Leads me to believe the waiter forgot about it and had it slapped up in a hurry so as to get us on our way so he could have his table for the next seating. At the end of the meal, it turns out my server also didn't know it was my husbands birthday (despite it being in my reservation notes) and had no plans to do anything special when I let him KNow . Someone handed me our check and that was that. I had high expectations, you can bet your bottom dollar. We have been to high end steakhouses all over the world and I'm sorry to report this particular location had wait staff that just doesn't care about their customers' experience. Most of the food was good. Was it worth paying to price for a nice meal, absolutely not. Don't get me wrong, I will pay too dollar for Michelin restaurants and not look back. Our server was really nice, friendly, and made great recommendations for our first time. Wonderful experience! We just arrived in Italy, jet lagged, so headed for dinner at 7pm. Seated right away by a very polite hostess. The food is focused on beef, with many types and cuts of beef. However we started with their mushroom stuffed pasta with a butter and sage sauce. Quite extraordinary! You swear there was meat in the stuffing! It was so savory and flavorful. Then the ribeye comes out, we selected a local Florence source, which was tender and had nice qualities you expect from grass fed beef. The restaurant is small, but sound is modest making for easy conversations. Our server, Emilio, was amazing. He speaks three languages, so is able to communicate well with most guests. Emilio is super attentive, making sure we not only got our food, but that we loved it. We did notice that as the night wore on, people without reservations were having to wait, but it was a Friday night, so not surprising. NGL I walked in and I saw a hella Korean people. I wanted to turn around and leave. This location is so close to the Firenze SMN train station. I wonder if it would be the same at other locations. I got an early dinner reservation around 6 PM. By the time we left, around 7:30 PM, they were turning people away because they just didn't have any more room. Good idea to get a reservation or come early! I was here to get the bistecca alla fiorentina, but our server was like, do you want to get the chianina? We asked what's the difference. She said it's more tender. I said, si, perche no? We got a side of mixed salad. When the 1 kg-steak came out, it was so beautiful. It tasted even better than it looked. Near train station, so I was apprehensive about the location. Definitely not a quaint neighborhood feel. However, the food looked, smelled and tasted amazing. Our 8pm reservation was taken promptly and I would suggest it. The place was packed and people were waiting outside for their tables. No room within to wait. We had a table right away and the host was very friendly and nice . I was surprised to find this restaurant so close to my hotel across the street from the train station. We arrived just in time as there was a short line forming. By the time we were seated, the line was on the street. On this visit I was famished so I ordered two entrees with the first course, second course mindset. I had the four cheese gnocchi and the ribeye steak. My wife ordered the zuppa verdura and a ravioli dish. My food was amazing. I loved both dishes and this was my favorite meal in Florence. My wife was disappointed that they brought her a different ravioli dish than what she ordered but she did not complain and ate it. The cashier was the busiest person in the place because the servers don't cash you out. The cashier also doubles as a host. After sending back the raw steak, to receive it rare to then send it back a third time to have the chef then cook to death I will never return here. The steak was super tender and I liked how it was cut up for us already. The tartare could be better and the tripe was an extremely flavorful dish in tomato sauce. The restaurant is definitely popular amongst tourists, especially at this location which is very close to the SMN railway station. Dinner at a ristorante trattoria next to our hotel. And what a place. This joint is just AWESOME! The walls are made form old wooden wine boxes from different regions and the corks from all opened wine bottles.. looks fantastic and works really well as a sound diffuser (which keeps the volume down). We went "family style" and ordered a caprese salad, mushroom risotto, and a gift of boar ragu which was SOOOOO tasty. The main meal was a huge T bone steak, a specialty of the house and cooked perfectly (medium-rare) and roasted rosemary potatoes. Table wine (Sangiovese) was fantastic and so good we got a sec d bottle (1.0L).. We were the lay to leave at midnight and the staff were wonderfully - very accommodating and understanding..
