Great spot in Florence. Highly recommend making a reservation!!! This is a hard spot to grab a table last minute. They have a great meal deal available: apps, water, steak for 2. Comes with apps, a bottle of water, and a pretty big steak. Bruschetta is good. Chicken liver patte is not bad, not a huge fan of it in general but wasn't bad. Cold cuts are a good assortment. Sadly the bread is not good. It's dry, and disintegrates when you eat it. It's not a good fresh bread that you'd expect at a quality Italian steak house. The oil and balsamic are watery and not good. Steak was tender and great flavor. Be careful when it comes out! It's still sizzling and bubbling. I got burned multiple times from the oil popping out on me while it was on the table. Potato's were ok. Montepulciano wine is good. Mode half size bottle, perfect for 2 to share if you're looking for a glass of wine with a little extra. Coed bathrooms, single stalls Pay up front. Service was ok. Hostess was friendly and helpful. We didn't have a reservation and she put us on the list anyway. Our wait was only about 30 minutes and she was super sweet. Our server however was abrasive and short. He was clearly unhappy that we didn't order more based on the eye rolling and comments made under his breath. read more

Make sure to add this to your list and make a reservation because boy does it get packed! Best meal during the entire trip and honestly best steak of my life. Incredible service, authentic feel, meat hanging in the front window, and very attentive staff. Between two adults we ordered the cheese board appetizer (incredible), Florentine steak (1.2 kg) to share (MUST ORDER), and a side of potatoes (Absolutely should order). For two very hungry adults this was plenty of food, I would not order more than this (warning as we almost did). The Florentine steak was so lean and tender, beautifully seasoned. The sizzle when it comes to the table was incredible to watch while we ate it. Absolutely amazing hands down. read more

Before leaving Florence, I wanted to try Bistecca alla Florentina. Luckily, we were able to make dinner reservations at Trattoria dall'Oste. We were greeted and seated promptly as soon as we walked in for our reservation. Our server was friendly, polite, and helpful in choosing a bottle of wine. She also explained to us what would be a good weight of meat for two people. We also ordered a pasta dish (I forgot to take a picture), and we were instructed that in Italy, we have to eat the pasta dish first (primi), before they serve the meat (secondi). "In Italy, we do not eat our pasta and meat at the same time." We had to finish the pasta dish first, then we were given clean plates. That was when they served the steak. We had: BISTECCA ALLA FLORENTINA "CHIANINA" 1kg- Absolutely delicious. The meat was perfectly seasoned and prepared. Every bite was just so good. TAGLIOLINI AI FUNGHI PORCINI- Outstanding MILLE FOGLIE CON CREME CHANTILLY- So light, airy, and simply delightful. This was one of the best meals I have had in Italy. The steak was something that I will remember for a long time ;) Everything that I've had on this visit was excellent. The service was very efficient and exceptional, and the restaurant was beautiful and clean. Molte grazie! read more

We just enjoyed a wonderful meal at Trattoria dall'Oste. There was a bit of a wait since we didn't have reservations and they were packed, but still we were seated in 15-20 minutes. It was worth the wait! My wife and I started with Papardelle in Wild Boar Sauce. It was perfect, the Papardelle was al dente', just right and the Wild Boar sauce was a rich and very tasty complement. But the main event came afterward... We shared a 36 oz. Dry aged ribeye grilled perfectly to medium rare. For a steak lover, this was Heaven on earth. A Fabulous steak grilled perfectly. No, we were not able to finish it, despite a valient effort. I have no idea how their desserts are as we rolled out of there. Best part of our dinner though was our waiter, Benjamin. He was attentive, personable and professional, speaks perfect English and made our dining experience one we will long remember. Thanks you, Benjamin! If you're ever in Florence, you owe it to yourself to try Trattoria dell'Oste. I'll certainly dine there the next time I'm in Florence. read more

Chose this restaurant to celebrate my husband's birthday while we were on holiday. They offer quality beef from all around the world. Sounds like a win-win right? Guaranteed to earn me the wife of the year award. My husband ordered the florentine Chianian steak. He wanted to try a local meat. It came out perfectly made medium rare won an iron skillet (great for keeping it warm and also to give a light cook of the piece is too rare). For vegetables we ordered the chicory, which was a surprisingly a very generous portion. My son had the spinach raviolis and my daughter had the tagliere in Ragu sauce. Both were a hit. We ordered a bottle of Boghleri. Great wine for the price. Everything was going well until we noticed that they never brought my lobster pasta. Also realized at that point we hadn't seen our server since he took our order. He was busily tending to other patrons the entire time. Our wine and orders were delivered by the bus boy, who was amazing btw ,which is why we didn't notice our server had not returned. When we were finally able to track down our server, he said my pasta would be ready right away. It didn't show up until everyone else was done with their meals. No apologies. No explanation. They didn't give me a plate for the shells. No wipe for my hands. It was if they just wanted us gone. The lobster itself was ok.... Sauce was a plain tomato sauce, not super flavorful or special in any way. I would say this was the only dish that disappointed (but then again why did I order lobster at a steak house you may say lol). It also appears the chef threw it onto a plate in a rush. There was zero presentation (lobster is buried inder the pasta) and wasn't finished (no chopped parsley or even one basil Leaf). See pic. This also Leads me to believe the waiter forgot about it and had it slapped up in a hurry so as to get us on our way so he could have his table for the next seating. At the end of the meal, it turns out my server also didn't know it was my husbands birthday (despite it being in my reservation notes) and had no plans to do anything special when I let him KNow . Someone handed me our check and that was that. I had high expectations, you can bet your bottom dollar. We have been to high end steakhouses all over the world and I'm sorry to report this particular location had wait staff that just doesn't care about their customers' experience. Most of the food was good. Was it worth paying to price for a nice meal, absolutely not. Don't get me wrong, I will pay too dollar for Michelin restaurants and not look back. The service here was completely lacking. Just my two cents worth (or 400€ in this case). So many other places to enjoy a quality Florentino steak where you are served with respect read more

We had a reservation dinner at 5:30PM for 2 people. Inside was spacious and I liked the atmosphere. I think it's a great place for dinner. Our server was really nice, friendly, and made great recommendations for our first time. The menu had lots of choices, and we ordered Bistecca all Fiorentina "Chianina" steak 1.2kg and Pappardelle al sugo di cinghiale pasta per our server's recommendations. Food was very delicious, I especially enjoyed the steak! I would love to visit again for dinner the next time I'm in Italy! read more

Rated one of the top 100 steakhouses in the world we saw the abundance of reviews and all different platforms on the maps. We knew we had to stop by here. This was one of those treat yourself type of moments so our group all decided that we were gonna go all in for the steak here. They definitely lived up to it hype and I can see why it is one of the top 100 steak houses in the world. Our steak was 1.8 kg and it was a lot of steak for us but we also ordered a few different pasta sides as well. The steak was nice and juicy and was cooked perfectly. Our server was hilarious and he explained the menu completely to us. It is a nicer restaurant, so everyone was dressed up a little bit nicer and was out here to either enjoy some thing or celebrate some thing. So if you wanna go, try to get there at an off-time or make some reservations in advance. read more

Trattoria Dalloste - Almost 2kg of steakkk - Tuscan Near Me - Florence, FI

The steak was a masterpiece of flavors and tenderness. It was cooked to perfection, with a beautiful sear on the outside and a juicy, pink center. The taste was nothing short of divine - rich, savory, and oh-so-buttery. Each bite was a symphony of flavors that danced on my palate. But what truly amazed me was how incredibly soft and tender the steak was. It practically melted in my mouth. If you're in Florence and crave a steak that's both heavenly in taste and incredibly soft, make your way here . Buon appetito!! read more

NGL I walked in and I saw a hella Korean people. I wanted to turn around and leave. This location is so close to the Firenze SMN train station. I wonder if it would be the same at other locations. I got an early dinner reservation around 6 PM. By the time we left, around 7:30 PM, they were turning people away because they just didn't have any more room. Good idea to get a reservation or come early! I was here to get the bistecca alla fiorentina, but our server was like, do you want to get the chianina? We asked what's the difference. She said it's more tender. I said, si, perche no? We got a side of mixed salad. When the 1 kg-steak came out, it was so beautiful. It tasted even better than it looked. It was probably the best steak I had in Italy. It was indeed very tender. I recommend everyone to get it when they're in Florence. A bottle of water is 3.50 euros. Cover charge is 3.50 euros per person. read more

Near train station, so I was apprehensive about the location. Definitely not a quaint neighborhood feel. However, the food looked, smelled and tasted amazing. Our 8pm reservation was taken promptly and I would suggest it. The place was packed and people were waiting outside for their tables. No room within to wait. My husbands ribeye for one was flavorful and cooked correctly. I had the wild boar pappardelle which was very good. The table next to us had the large steak I photographed. 2 adults and a child demolished this great looking steak. The waiter was attentive. When you are ready to pay, just go up to the checkout. Waiter did not bring bill to the table. read more

Wonderful experience! We just arrived in Italy, jet lagged, so headed for dinner at 7pm. Seated right away by a very polite hostess. The food is focused on beef, with many types and cuts of beef. However we started with their mushroom stuffed pasta with a butter and sage sauce. Quite extraordinary! You swear there was meat in the stuffing! It was so savory and flavorful. Then the ribeye comes out, we selected a local Florence source, which was tender and had nice qualities you expect from grass fed beef. The restaurant is small, but sound is modest making for easy conversations. Our server, Emilio, was amazing. He speaks three languages, so is able to communicate well with most guests. Emilio is super attentive, making sure we not only got our food, but that we loved it. We did notice that as the night wore on, people without reservations were having to wait, but it was a Friday night, so not surprising. For non-beef eaters there are several vegetarian and seafood options. Good wine list with great representation of local wines. After dinner cappuccino and espresso were spot on. read more

It is the truth folks, this is the best steak I've ever eaten in the whole world. Just comparing it to Kobe/Wagyu in Japan, Peter Luger in NYC, and Keens also in NYC. It looks raw but is not, it has the right tenderness, not mushy or very soft and beefy they say. It is not overly expensive too like NYC steak houses. The staff is very friendly and attentive. read more

Best Florentine Steak I've ever had ! Super soft , melts in your mouth. Service super fast and food came out within 20 minutes. They recommend it Medium Rare but if you want to cook it longer they provide a hot plate. They don't sell wine by the glass only by bottle but it's a personal size. Yes it's pricey but definitely worth it. This location was smaller (by the metro station) definitely recommend reservations. read more

Best meal of my life! Go local on the beef and do the Florentine Beef for two. Medium rare is the way to go but if you like it a little more done the serving tray is smoking hot so you can lay down a piece for a minute to sear if you want. Don't embarrass yourself by ordering it medium. We ordered some veggies and wine as well. Steak was perfect and the marble was D' Lish with the beef. Can not rave about the food and service enough. Can I give this place MORE than 5 stars? If i could jump in a plane RIGHT? NOW and head straight to Trattoria Dall'Oste I'd do so immediately but you know, COVID-19 don't play. Anyway, nothing beats the amount of food, the quality of the service, and the beautiful ambiance that you'll experience at this restaurant. If you're a foreigner and used to eating at 5-7pm, go for it lol! You'll get to really enjoy yourself and beat the dinner crowd that begins to form closer to 8:30pm. We ordered the 70 Euro Bistecca Alla Fiorentina so for ~80 USD you get the following: - endless bread with olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette to munch on - Salami crostini to share - (2) T-bone steaks with either salad or potatoes (i say get one of each b/c the portions are HUGE.) I did not finish my potatoes and neither did my partner. - 1/2 a bottle of wine - and a cream cake to share. We added a tiramisu + espresso to our order and left STUFFED. The waiters were so so nice that they gave us 2 free limoncellos to end the night as well. I strongly recommend that if you're going with someone, get the above. Well worth your money - trust me! read more

I guess it's true Florence steaks are one of the best in world. Made reservations with a 20 percent discount to the bill on their website through fork. We had a table right away and the host was very friendly and nice . We ordered a pasta dish that came out pretty big enough for 2 people and the fiorentina chiani steaks which was flavorful and we couldn't finish it . It was huge and you must order it medium rare or rare . Some tips for people eating steaks never order well done . Don't even bother cause the chef will probably throw that steak at your head for ruining a nice piece of steak . Everything was excellent here with the services and food even though there's a lot of tourists coming here. read more

Maybe coz we had good steak already the other day that I can't rate them a 5.. For us, it was like regular steak we had back home. Was good but not the greatest. It is still better than Maestros and Mortons but the Florentine Chianni was still chewy despite being medium rare. ( I know it's not filet minon or wagyu but we just had a steak florentine just the other day that was perfection so we can compare it to that) Should definitely rub the meat with salt prior to grilling coz it really lacked flavor for us. I did see them sprinkle salt on top prior to serving but still a meh. read more

I was surprised to find this restaurant so close to my hotel across the street from the train station. We arrived just in time as there was a short line forming. By the time we were seated, the line was on the street. On this visit I was famished so I ordered two entrees with the first course, second course mindset. I had the four cheese gnocchi and the ribeye steak. My wife ordered the zuppa verdura and a ravioli dish. My food was amazing. I loved both dishes and this was my favorite meal in Florence. My wife was disappointed that they brought her a different ravioli dish than what she ordered but she did not complain and ate it. The cashier was the busiest person in the place because the servers don't cash you out. The cashier also doubles as a host. This can be tough with the European mindset of not dropping of bills before people asking for them. Four and half stars due to the ravioli mix-up but a very solid restaurant. read more

We came here on recommendation from our Gate 1 Group travel guide in Florence. I'm seeing a pattern from reviews that most of their customers come from hotels! Is there a commission? Do the locals not like this place? I get hotels having deals on Hard Rock cafe but this? Despite the reputation as a steak/meat place, we opted for truffle pizza and lemon sorbet with real lemon peel for dessert. it was a nice quaint place with wall decorations made from wine cases. We had a wine tasting earlier so we just had water or soda. The service was a little slow but at 9pm the place was getting busy. We enjoyed the food and took pizza home. There was a VERY decadent chocolate dessert ball dessert we saw next to us that we will definitely try if we come back. read more

We ordered filet mignon and it was the toughest filet I've ever had. It was like chewing rubber. I don't even know what part of the meat that was. They said it was Italian black Angus??? I probably threw away 1/3 of the filet. Stay away from their steak unless you want to order $180 Wagyu steak. The seafood pasta (Spaghetti ai frutti di mare) was terrible also. They used frozen shrimp and not enough seafood. Not recommend read more

My god... wow!! This place was utterly fantastic from start to finish! We came here because our hotel recommended it and the restaurant was truly wonderful! There are slabs of beef showcased in the front window, too, which was more than enough reason to check it out! We did have other courses, shared eggplant parmigiana, I had spinach ravioli, and my husband had pasta. These were all great! But the one outlying rockstar was our beef dishes!!! I had a peppercorn sauce with mine and let me tell you this was some of the most tender beef I have ever eaten. I cut it with a fork!! Now that's tender! My husband had a truffle beef with shavings on top. He had a similar experience and truly loved every bite. Another highlight was the staff. They were all super friendly. Im being generous and providing a 1-star rating only because of the people and side dishes. If you want a true bistecca Florentino don't come here. Most readers like a rare to medium steak however I have a medium to medium-plus preference. Its aggravating when you specifically order it that way and the self righteous chef decides to cook it his or her way - take note righteous chefs, the customers are paying and they orders steak to their preference not yours ! After sending back the raw steak, to receive it rare to then send it back a third time to have the chef then cook to death I will never return here. If you want a true bistecca Florentino with olive wood cooking technique don't go here; go to Zaza's!!!! Terrible !!!! read more

This restaurant is known for its Florentine steaks and it certainly meets its reputation for first-timers. We got the Chianina T-bone steak, as well as the smoked beef tartare and tripe. The steak was super tender and I liked how it was cut up for us already. The tartare could be better and the tripe was an extremely flavorful dish in tomato sauce. The restaurant is definitely popular amongst tourists, especially at this location which is very close to the SMN railway station. If you're looking to try a classic Florentine steak, this restaurant is certainly a great option, but I feel that with more exploration, a better alternative could be found. read more

Dinner at a ristorante trattoria next to our hotel. And what a place. This joint is just AWESOME! The walls are made form old wooden wine boxes from different regions and the corks from all opened wine bottles.. looks fantastic and works really well as a sound diffuser (which keeps the volume down). We went "family style" and ordered a caprese salad, mushroom risotto, and a gift of boar ragu which was SOOOOO tasty. The main meal was a huge T bone steak, a specialty of the house and cooked perfectly (medium-rare) and roasted rosemary potatoes. Table wine (Sangiovese) was fantastic and so good we got a sec d bottle (1.0L).. We were the lay to leave at midnight and the staff were wonderfully - very accommodating and understanding..
